Afternoon All The car has just been delivered.Fingers crossed the right seal has been fitted now . It has been a bit of a nuisance for the garage to have had it there for so long as it has meant they have had to put back work on some other cars. At least I havent had to pay out anything . Not you Mel !!. That must have made a bit of a dent in your bank balance :-S. But you will be happy now and feel safe going out in it again. It wouldnt me much fun breaking down in one of your tiny narrow country lanes.
I have not had a great day with this blasted pain .Even my strong painkillers havent seemed to touch it today. It's made me a right old misery guts :-S
One thing made me have a fit of the giggles earlier. I thought Chris asked me what we were having WITH our dinner tonight eg veg so I replied Carrots. He said "what just Carrots"?? I said no I would probably do some other veg too. A little later he said I hadnt told him what we were having for dinner.... He had actually asked what we were having, meaning the main dish LOL So maybe I should just dish him up a plate of Carrots :-D :-D. The more I thought about it the more I laughed and had proper tears streaming down my face. We are actually having a Sausage, bacon and Mushroom Bake WITH CARROTS :-D
Frank I only heard from Anne when she sent the emaIl of Ruby at the Meet. She sid say that she was beginning to feel better and was hoping to be back on the thread before too long.
We dont have any wooden floors here other than the hallway downstairs ,even that is not proper wood but Amtico(I think thats what its called) I have slate tiles in the kitchen which are really cold on the old tootsies if barefoot.. The mian reason I would choose wooden floors would be to reduce the amount of dust that comes from carpets. My Sister has a wooden floor in her lounge but has put a huge rug down. I remember the day many moons ago when my Dad did the bathroom with new carpet and he had it going up the side of the bath. We thought we were so modern then :-D. You dont see that these days .
I spent many hours at Northampton Crown Court with some of the people I supported with Victim Support. Some very nasty and serious cases. One case was a lady who had been held up in her home at gun point and then tied up and locked in her bathroom while the B ******S robbed the place. It was so nice to see the main culprit be sent down for 15 years. Many other cases too which are too much to go into now. One chap got life . A big cheer went up in the court room that day :-D I have never been chosen for Jury Service.I cant see that happening now.
I dont know what's on TV tonight. Hopefully there will be something good . I must have a look at the Radio Times. I did see Gogglebox is back tomorrow :-D I must crack on and prepare these CARROTS :-D

O Frank not another bad night. I hope you can sleep better tonight and get some good zzzzzz's in. You're much brighter after a good nights sleep.
It was nice to see Dermot posting again. I'm glad he keeps an eye on us.
Its ever so cold here today but we still have sunshine and not much wind but what there is is blooming freezing. Oh decided not to go out and top coat the mower deck today as he said it was too cold and for him to say that it must be. He dos'nt realize he is getting older....... and feels the cold more now.
I have just turned the heating back on as it always feels cold to me after we have had lunch. I suppose the sun has gone round a bit or its just me. :-S
I wonder if Jane has her car back today? They have had it a long while now.
Sending love to Anne and hoping she is feeling a bit better with each day that passes and can come and post again when she feels up to it. <3
I have'nt got any line left now after those three lots of washing but still have a wash left in the linen basket. It woud have been good to do it all.
The chicken run is drying nicely now thank goodness. I nearly lost my boot the other day but managed to tread on the leg part as the rest was stuck in the mud. Sometimes its easier if the mud is very wet as there's not much suction then.
I have remembered to take my other pills today as I forgot yesterday. I had taken some but not all of them. As I don't have any breakfast now I have to wait till lunchtime to take the others with food. I'm not like Frank and take them on an empty stomach......neughty boy. :-| :-|
You mind your back Gill and don't strain yourself too much if you have that papering to do. Can't Sandra help with moving the furniture?

Oh dear, that was quite a hefty bill Mel, but at least you're up and running now, and it will last! We had a Sheltie when we were first married Frank and she was quite a subdued little girl, but very sweet and bidable!! Been shopping this morning as we wanted to get everything we wanted before the weather gets much colder! Gill, you're right, noisy music is not for us!! folk songs are much more our style, so we shall plead old age!!! Saw a Muntjak in the field opposite this morning! It seemed to be on its own and soon skipped off!! Made some nice stock from Sundays duck carcass, which we shall have as soup tomorrow. Tonight is Sweet and Sour chicken with rice. Nice and easy!! About to settle down with my book. Gill don't work too hard!!!

Don't do yourself a mischief Gill. If you can't mange the furniture on your own, haven't you got a "NICE NEIGHBOUR" who could help you.??
Ros has given the bedroom a spring clean, moved everything from the walls and dusted and hoovered.
There seems to be a bit of damp down the wall which we think is coming from the drain pipe that goes into the concrete out by the gate, into a SOAK AWAY. I have rung Harvey, and he is coming up on Mon/Tues. to look at it. I think we will do away with the soak away and redirect the rainwater into the drain at the side of the bungalow. He says he has loads of pipes and bends so it shouldn't cost us much.
It's turned out a sunny afternoon, so I expect the frost will develop as it gets dark.
Ros is at Choir practice tonight. She will pick up Val around 7.00 pm. I have recored her "SOAPS" for when I go to bed.
Not a lot happening here this afternoon, so I will get back to my book.

You and your OH are doing well with all your jobs Mel. Has your OH finished the loft now? Can't wait to see what you are crafting when it's finished.
Yes, Frank, I think putting another carpet down will be the best thing for now and much cheaper too, plus less time consuming. I can always pop a nice rug down to brightened the place up a bit. Glad to hear your soreness is starting to subside now.
So you're not going to be partying then Liz, I don't blame you, some party's can be quite loud and what passes as music......well, what can I say LOL Hope your Internet is playing nicely today.
Sorry to hear about your car Jane, hope it's not to long before you have it back.
I've had so many things to do today that I've only managed one piece of paper on the wall, I'm a bit achy too which isn't helping, I think it must of been moving the heavy furniture on my own yesterday. Until OH see the back specialist I'm not asking him to help me lift anything heavy as I would never forgive myself if he hurt his back again, so as a result I think I've pulled my hamstring. I've had problems with it after an accident years ago so have to be careful. I didn't feel anything when I moved the furniture, but did this morning when I got up. I've taken some painkillers and a couple of anti-inflammatory's which seems to have dulled the pain a bit, so hopefully I'll be able to carry on with the decorating. The living room seems to be taking forever to do, I'll be glad when it's finished.
OH has just been speaking with the neighbours daughter and she said she is going to put her mum into a home as she keeps falling all the time, so is going to rent the bungalow . I wonder what kind of neighbours we'll end up with. I hope they're not like Victor Meldrew on the other side or the strange neighbours who keep throwing their rubbish into our garden over the back. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Well, I'd better get back to the decorating, see you all later.

Good Morning Gill and all,
For the life of me I don't know how that WOMAN came into my mind. She certainly was something different. I think we were all pleased when she decided to leave us. !!! in the nicest way !!! lol
Another dodgy night. I went in around 10.30. Still awake when madam came in 12.45. Got up and read until 3.00 am. Was going to turn over this morning but needed the loo. That did it, I was awake. So got up.
For what it's worth Gill, I agree with Glynn. Wooden floors are are complete NO. NO. in our home. I always feel they look cold as well as everything seems to ECHO.
A very good nature programme on the BBC 1 last night. I enjoyed it, so did Ros.
My bottom feels a bit better today. The lump has gone from the size of a "BRILLO PAD" down to a plumb size, and not so painful. She certainly need to learn how to inject this substance. :-P :-P :-P
We do a bit of "dog sitting" with Biggles, and I use to sit Carol's dog "TED" such a timid dog, has always been the same, and will be for ever no doubt. He is a Sheltie, they do seem a bit quiet as a breed.
Jane I keep promising myself that I will get Ros to drop me off at the COURTS in Northampton, to sit though various cases. I can imagine they would be very interesting. I think hey have quite a number small courts, as well as the COUNTY COURT. for the BIG CASES.
So all done and dusted then Mel. What's the next project. ?? Roa has the Dyson going in the bedroom, so it sounds like she is starting "SPRING CLEANING" She sorted out the new Veg rack yesterday, and it looks much better, even if I say it myself.
It did as I said yesterday. Ros came home with a wet car. Not a happy bunny.!!
Very overcast here this morning, but dry. Next week is going to be a real belter. from what the forecast says it will be colder than anytime in the last FIVE YEARS. So for one I won't be going far.
Who has heard from Anne ?? I hope she is getter better, and will soon be back with us. xx
I can now sit and read my book. The others should be here before the end of the week.
See you all later, xx

Morning all,
Really cold and frosty start to the day here this morning but the suns out and the sky is blue with big clouds so I don't know if it will stay sunny or not. We shall see.
I got my car back yesterday late afternoon and I was so surprised. Its rnning like a dream now but they had to dismantle the bumper and a lot of the radiators, which had to be drained before they could get to the alternator. I had a very large bill of £413.44 so it had better last me a few years yet..............and that was on top of the £75 battery which I may not have needed anyway. At least I know I am safe now to go out anywhere.
Yes I did some crafting yesterday afternoon and right into the evening. All hand sewing again so it takes ages but I do enjoy seeing it develope. There's still quite a bit to do so you won't be seeing it yet.
I have one lot of wshing on the line and the machine has just stopped so the second lot must go out ow. With oh doing this mower deck he has been covered in black dust from stripping all the paint off. He also did my hoover filters with the compressed air and the hoover is sucking so strongly now its a job to move it across the carpet!! All the cobwebs have gone and the spiders too for a day or so. They soon come back don't they?? :-(
Yes Jane that The Coraner (sp) progam has been on before and I enjoyed them with the beautiful scenery. I also liked the actors that are in it. Trouble is that when they rerun those programs after Doctors they don't put them on catch up which is a shame as if you watch it in the afternoon you've lost most it.

Morning all
Bright and sunny here today, I hope it stays that way as it's easier to see what I'm doing with the decorating than if it rains as it goes really dark in our living room.
Like I said I'll be doing the wallpapering today, we were going to put the stone coloured paper all round but after just doing the chimney breast wall we now know it's going to be to dark, so all the paper OH bought yesterday for the other walls will now have to go back to the shop. I have some white lining paper so I'm using that for the other three walls and then put the coloured paper in the Alcoves. That paper has a bit of red on it so it should warm the room up a bit and go nicely with some red cushions I bought the other week.
Once the living room is finished we can sort out the kitchen and everywhere should be finished and looking a bit newer. Not sure what we're doing about the flooring yet, whether to buy new carpets or put down a wooden floor. OH thinks it might be to cold under foot for a wooden floor so it might end up being a carpet again.
Well, I'd better get on with the decorating. I'll try and get back on here later.

I'm a bit late today as I've been busy decorating after doing a bit of gardening. I also had loads of washing to get through. I'm shattered now so will be off to bed shortly.
It sounds like that Sheila was a right one Frank. I don't think I was on the thread when it happened so don't know what went on. From what everyone has said though she didn't sound very nice. What made you think of her after all this time as it sounds a long time ago when it all happened?
So you've finally sorted out your front door, I bet your pleased it's out of the way now Mel? How are you getting on with your crafting, what are you making this time?
It sounds like you've been busy to Liz, with all your jobs. It's a nice feeling when everything is spick and span isn't it?
Well, I'll sign out now as I'd like a bath before bed. See you all tomorrow Night Night

I got the name right Jane but not the outcome! No I don't think we will be partying! think it would a bit much for OH who isn't really into loud parties these days!! We shall go down later on in the year for a couple of nights for a peaceful weekend!! L told me this morning that she has started a new venture - dog sitting for friends who work! School staff only as she doesn't want to do it in the school holidays!! She is very like OH and always manages to pull a rabbit out of the hat when needs must _ M does too, but she is the real savvy one!! She has three dogs at the moment, one an eight month old lab, a two year old Cassie, and an older non descript dog. They come about 8.30 and are picked up about 4pm!! She still runs their coach business from her office at home, so it works pretty well!! It's raining!!

Liz, when we had Chester and we went away ,he used to go to stay with a Lady in her own home.Just like L is doing. I think it is just a wonderful idea as it saves many dogs having to go into Kennels. When Hannah was sharing a house with her girlfriends they joined something called' Borrow my Doggie ' and would take in a dog for a day or two . Usually just for a weekend . Hannah loved doing this.I reckon L will be inundated soon with people wanting her to look after their dogs :-D(once the word get around).
Day care for dogs too is becoming a big thing these days. There are several around here now.

Afternoon All and Hello to Dermot :-D Oh boy your house is going to stink Dermot :-D :-D I bet the bacon and cabbage though will taste really good.
Yes that was Sheila from Birmingham. No she didnt die Liz, but I think she either had a stroke or heart attack. That was along time ago now.
Sorry your bum is still hurting Frank. This is definitely the worst injection you have had :-S. My backside is very uncomfortable again today. Mind you I have been sitting a lot sorting out photos andtrying to get them into some kind of order . Chris bought 3 plastic boxes each with 6 individual boxes .I think each little box holds about 2hundred photos. I have done 8 now. But have had to stop as my fingers are hurting from the hard edges of the pics. My fingers are still very tender from when they were affected with the Psoriasis and I am always worried about the skin breaking down.
So my car that I should have had back today is still in the garage :-S. They got the wrong seal and have had to order another one.I have asked that they deliver the car back home tomorrow when it is done. They didnt quibble about that ,probably because they realise I shouldnt have had to wait this long.
What a lovely time Ruby had at the doggy meet. There were so many little Bostons running around having great fun,and it looked like the weather was dry. Anne is feeling a bit better now so hopefully she will be back with us very soon.
Are you going to this party too Liz ? I think every young person should do some travelling and explore a bit of the world if the have the chance to do so. I am glad I did a bit before I settled down and had the children. Nothing quite as adventurous as most do these days though. I would still love to see so many other countries but that isnt going to happen now.
It was really quite mild this morning but now I can feel it getting colder. Looks like next week is going ot be bitter again. At least we have plenty of logs again. We have certainly got through a lot so far this year.
Mel you are putting me to shame with all your cleaning.I always wake up and think I will get this that and the other done but it never quite works out that way LOL
I would have enjoyed the Magistrates talk that Ros went to and the 'trial'. I'm looking forward to the ' Mock Trial ' in London in April that Hannah got us tickets for.I can't remember quite what it is but think it an Agatha Christie thing. I'm not sure Chris will enjoy it quite as much as me though. It is an afternoon thing so we will just meet up with Hannah and Gareth for lunch ,then go the trial and get the train home in the evening. So no need to book Thomas in to the cattery.
I have had the Slow Cooker on all day so all I need to do tonight is Rice.
Did anyone see the programme The Coroner today ? (after Doctors) A lot of it was filmed in Wembury where I grew up.

I think her name was Sheila Frank! Didn't she die? or have I got that wrong?!! I remember her being very unpleasant to you on a personal level, which was completely out of order, and me telling her so! Yes M's stepson has certainly seen a fair bit of the world and actually lived in these places! I think he intends to visit Australia next, working while travelling! My youngest cousin did that years ago in his gap year. He worked in restaurants, garages, all sorts, while seeing the sights. He did have two older sisters who live in Aus, which made it easier. As you say, years ago, opportunity could knock but once, now of course, it is much easier for the young to travel far and wide. Sometimes I envy them too!! Think I'll join you on the reading front!!

What's the bet it will RAIN. Roa has just popped to Tesco for some bits, then going to get the car cleaned. That's a sure sign of rain.
That was some phone call Liz, what a fantastic Ms son must have had, and some great experiences no doubt. I bet there is a lot of us who wished we had had the opportunity to have traveled like that when we were young.
A Sister of my dad's came over from Detroit when he was dying, and offered to take me back wth her so I would miss National Service. How could I leave my family at a time like that, and after me nursing him for almost two years. I never got another offer like that, So never .travelled.
Locks very unsettled outside, and who do you think has put a line of washing out. Our dear neighbour VAL.
Ros took her to Mothers club last night, and she had a real job to follow what was going on. They had a Magistrate come to give a talk, and go through the process of a case. When he had finished, some of the committee had pre-arranged a re-enactment of a court case, where a sixteen years old, egged on by his friends, took his fathers car and went joy riding. He was only 16 and crashed the car, a friend was killed. Ros said they acted it out so well even the Magistrate was impressed.
One of my books arrived today, so I am as happy as "LARRY" I can now sit and read when Ros is out and no T.V. on. Much more interesting way to pass my time. !!!
Where is Mandy, Gill and Jane today ?? I hope Anne is looking in, even if she isn't ready to post. <3 <3 <3 to you Anne. Look forward to hearing from you.
Just had a thought, who was that woman from Birmingham that had a shop, and a daughter who was a solicitor , who was going to take ME and GENES to COURT.??
