Afternoon all,
Another beautiful sunny day here ,a bit chilly first thing as we had a very sharp frost but once the sun came up it soon went .
Max is two today ,it doesn't seem nearly two years since we went to see him as a tiny puppy ,he was only a week old when we first saw him . Mel he had a good sniff of the birthday card ,thank you for sending it . Your Banties will like the sand bath ,i can just see them having a good old flap about in the sand .
Colin's better now Frank he had a much better night ,where as i woke umpteen times ,i had quite a bit of water as my mouth was so dry. So Ros will be back tomorrow then Frank ,is the curtain Material for your lounge or the house in Devon ?
Haven't seen the ladies Skeleton Gill but did see we had a bronze in the men's Skeleton. How is OH getting on with the painting ?

Lovely crisp morning here, just the day for a doggy birthday! It was Cas's on the 6th, she was three!!! I can't believe we've had her so long! She still plays like a puppy, but is such a sweet affectionate girl that all is always forgiven!! Today we're taking a load of scrap to the local merchant to dispose of. They always pay quite well so it's worth doing. My two daffs are coming out, and look quite springlike!! Nothing else happening here today. Hope everyone's aches and pains are better, particularly your sciatica Jane, that is such a wicked pain and very wearing. I certainly wouldn't want it again!

Morning all
Bright and sunny here but very cold.
<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX <3 <3 <3
How old is Max today Mandy? Hope you and Colin are feeling better now, there's nothing worse than an illness lingering. Hope it's nothing to serious with your car and it doesn't cost to much to fix.
So you're keeping yourself busy with the washing Frank, like you said Ros will be pleased when she gets home as I'm sure she'll have quite a bit of washing of her own to do. That was nice of Jane to ring you last night, it would of been nice to have a chat with someone. I can imagine it can be a bit lonely on your own. Did you win the bids on the books?
How lovely to have a free bee Jane, that must of been a lovely surprise. It was quite expensive too if you'd of had to buy it yourself. How is Thomas today after his flee treatment, was he out long? Those poor children in those school in America, apparently there have been 19 shootings in schools so far this year. If I was a parent over there I'd be worried sick when I sent my children to school.
So you had a sleep too Mel. I think I've just over done things lately so felt really tired all the time. I had a lovely hot bath which just made me feel even more sleepy. I still managed to have a good nights sleep too and didn't wake up until nearly 9am, so I must of needed it all. That's a nice idea to put some sand down for your girls, much better than walking on all that soggy ground.

Good morning you lovely people xxx
Nice bright frosty morning here also. The roofs opposite are still white as in the pavements. So it must have been heavy one.
Ros has rung already. She/they are going to see woman about the lounge curtains today. To see what material she has and how much they are likely to cost.
Sleeping until 5.00 pm Mel, if I did that I would be up all night. I really try not o have forty winks in the afternoon, for that reason.
I bet the girls will like a nice sand bath. It helps clean their feathers and get rid of any mites. Mine use to have a spot in the run they used, and loved lying there in the afternoon sun, sunbathing or what. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I see you have the sleep bug too Gill. Mind you with all this decorating you have been doing I suppose you are tired. Was it yesterday you had a nice soak in the bath.?? that would relax you, and make you a bit sleepy.
Hows the poorly soldier this morning Mandy. Did he have a better night. I hope so, for you also. Theres nothing worse than someone wriggling around beside you all night,is there.
Thanks Jane for your call last night. It helped brake the boredom of siting alone. Sorry your back is still bad with this horrible pain, lets hope the excersises help to clear it up.
I did a coloureds wash last night. All my underpants, T shirts, socks, and jogging bottoms. I spread them all on the radiators through the bungalow. This morning they were all dry, so have put them away. Only leaves a few whites in the laundy basket. Ros will be pleased with me. BROWNIE POINTS lol lol.
I hope Anne is well, she posted birthday greetings to Mel, and that was all. !!!
How old is Max today Mandy.?? Give him a treat from me please. ;-) ;-)
I've got two nice COD LOINS out of the freezer this morning, so F & C for me tonight, with NO BATTER.
From what Ros said, they will be leaving reasonable early in the morning, so should be home before lunch. If so, she can go to Tesco to get something for lunch, and I can still go to see the football. IF SHE LETS ME :-P :-P :-P :-P

:-D <3 :-D <3 :-D <3 Happy Birthday Max :-D <3 :-D <3 :-D <3
Morning all,
We have sunshine after quite a heavy frost which is still in places the sun has'nt reached.
Can't believe its Friday again. The weeks are going by so quickly. Our Ros will be back home tomorrow with our Frank and it only seems like she's been away a couple of days. I bet it feels longer to Frank being on hhis own.
May clean the bantams out today if it not too cold out there.
Whie oh was up in the loft he brought down a covered cat litter tray which has been up there since I came down here. I thought I would see how it fits in the bantam run so I can put some sand in it for them to have a dust bath. I do sometimes give them a trug with old potting compost in and they spread it everywhere so this being covered it may not make so much mess as its hard to get the broom in there.

Gosh that was a nice freebie Jane.
I too had a sleep this afternoon. Very unlike me as it dos'nt happen very often but I went in the bedroom and the sun was shining through the wind right onto the bed and oh was on there too. I heard him get up a bit later and wrapped myself in the bedspread thing we put on in the winter and to stop the sun bleaching the quilt cover. I woke up at 5 to 5pm. Shot straight out to corn the chickens as it was a bit late and then started dinner. We are having the sheep sh*t pie tonight.
Poor Colin and yourself Mandy. I hope you get better soon. It must feel like ages since you have been out anywhere. It sounds like the throttle cable on the car. I wonder if its broken or just stuck after all the wet weather we have had. It has'nt been used for a while with you both being under the weather.
Poor Jane being in pain all day. Will you come down to Plymouth on your own or will Janice come with you?
I don't know if any of you watched the programs some time ago called Strike but it back on again soon. It was good and I liked it and I am sure someone else on here said it was good . May have been Jane as its a detective thing.
Must go and look at the spuds incase they are falling apart!!

Well i thought i would go shopping this afternoon only needed a few bits ,got in the car and off i set ,hadn't got very far when the car started to rev ,it did it every time i put the clutch down and braked to stop so i turned round and came home ,so it will have go to the chap who does our repairs . I hung some washing out today ,well only Max's towel that i dry him off with but it did dry on the line .
Hope you get the books Frank that's very cheap for paper backs ,i usually look in the charity shops some are only fifty pence a book and once read i take them back in ,my sister passes me her books and i pass some onto her . Your right the nights are drawing out i think you notice it more when its been a nice sunny day .
You must have been really tired to sleep for two hours Gill ,i hope you sleep ok tonight . I didn't have a very good night ,i went into the other bed last night as Colin was in and out of bed but each time he got out i woke up ,the last time was twenty past three and after that i laid there wide awake until gone five ,so i hope i sleep better tonight .
Sorry to hear your Sciatica is still playing you up Jane , with it being a bit milder you would have thought it might have helped ease it a little but perhaps the weather doesn't effect it as it does Arthritis. That's why we have been to see Colin's sister in hospital with having all these bugs ,that's the last thing she would want after being so poorly ,she's still on the high dependency ward but seems to be coming along nicely , Colin's brother has been going in to see her plus her daughters and son so she's had visitors ,Colin's brother and SIL go off on holiday tomorrow for two weeks to Barbados so we'll have to ring her son for the updates .
Max is soon due for his next lot of flea treatment but i'm going to ask for the tablets this time instead of the little tubes of stuff as he doesn't like it going on at all , he twists and turns for ages after it's been done . I didn't know you could get the flea tablets until i was taking to a lady down the road and she told me about them so i'm going to ask for them when i go in the vets .
Yes that shooting in America is awful those poor families .
That was a nice freebie Jane :-D

Afternoon All What a different day it has been today. Blue sky all day but still very cold in this blustery wind. I have had a painful day today with this Sciatica .I am getting so fed up with it now . I have been good and done my excercises just now. All painkillers and heat patch dont seem to have helped much at all today. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Frank, when did you say Ros will be home? I bet she has missed you too. I bet it wont be long before you start grumbling about the Soaps LOL . I sometimes think a little time away from eachother is quite good. I shall probably be going down to Plymouth sometime next month to stay with my friend Sue who has just moved back there from Wales. Chris seems very keen for me to go :-D :-D
Liz I can often see the steam from the horse manure pile over at the stables across the road. They used to have a board up at the end of the lane for Free Manure, and some people along our road would go down with a wheel barrow for it :-D
Gill your house will look grand spanking new when all the work is done :-D
Glad to see you are on the mend again now Mandy.Hope OH wont be up again in the night . I was reading in our local paper about visitors having to be stopped at the hospital because of so many cases of Influenza and the Norovirus .
Easy meal tonight.I dont think I can spend time standing at the cooker for long . So it is a ready Curry for James and Fish and Chips from the freezer again for us. Chris says he is fine with that as long as he has the sprouts that he found in the fridge :-D
I need ot go and call for Thomas as he scarpered in a flash after I did his worm treatment. I did ring the Vets and they said it would be safe for me to give it a couple of weeks early.
Oh my goodness.I am just watching more school children fleeing for their lives YET AGAIN in America after another shooting :-( :-( :-(... When will things ever change with the gun laws there???? . I dont think they will :-S

You sound fed up Frank, not long now before Ros is home then you'll have some company again.
I've just slept for over 2 hours, I must of needed it. OH has finished the gloss painting where the electric fire and TV go so we'll move those back, then I'll make the bed up now all the bedding is clean and dry.
Sorry to hear Colin is still ill Mandy, but pleased you're feeling a little better now. I believe 60 minute makeover takes all day, or so I've heard. OH uses a very low odour gloss paint so there isn't any smell and doesn't make me ill like the other gloss paints do, it also stays white instead of going yellow over time.
Yes, I think you did send Sandra some card making stuff Mel which she's probably used up by now. I can see how much trouble it would be moving your girls, although it might be worth doing if it means they don't end up with wet feet all the time.
Well, I'd better move this furniture back and make the bed, they won't do themselves ;-) ;-)

Nights are drawing out nicely, it won't be dark for another half hour. It's getting better every day.

Posted the same time as me Mandy. Sorry that Colin is still poorly, and pleased you are feeling a little better.
Yes the sun is nice and warm, I can feel it through the conservatory windows, it's like bakehouse out there. I've just opened the door into the lounge to let some of the heat in here. So disappointing that this wind is so cold, or it would be nice to sit outside.
Those poor chickens. They must look forward to getting into the garden and having dry earth/grass under their waterlogged feet. !!!
I have just put some Jacket potato's in the oven with a large portion of chicken. I will have that when they are done. I cn then get washed up and clear away, ready for another boring evening on my own.
I see Arsenal are playing at 6.00 pm So I can listen to that on the radio, and catch up with the news at 10.00 pm. Not that there will be much excitement in the NEWS.
I have put a bid on 6 books by that Author I mentioned. The opening bid is £2.00. So who knows I might be lucky and win the Auction. Books at just over 30 pence each can't be bad. I can read them and pass them on to Tony, who reads books everyday. lying full length on his sofa, while Valerie sits and watches Television.
I haven't looked to see what I might want to watch this evening. So I will surprise myself later.!!! Well it will be something to look forward too.. :-( :-( :-( Roll on the weekend.

Mandy I wonder who that card could be from with the Exeter post mark?
I too had a nice card from Shirl. The one I sent you was one of the nicest ones I have bought. I hust loved the colours and the fact that it was imbossed too. I should really get back into my card making as I have'nt done any for years now. I still have some I made when mum was alive. Perhaps I will use some of those. I think I sent some plain cards and envelopes to Sandra as I know she likes to make cards.
It sounds like you had another good nights sleep Frank! a good natter to people too and no cooking if you ate in the pub.
Trouble with the chickens run drying out is the trees behind it in the field. The low sun dos'nt really get to it and we can't move it since oh put the chicken wire run up. It was'nt so bad when it was the electric fencing cos you could just move that easily but now it would mean taking all the wooden posts out adn the staples out and rolling the wire up and I don't want him doing all that. Also he has leveled the ground all around it and grassed it over for easy maintainance.

Liz, a man I worked with had two horses, stabled at a local farm. The dung heap was many years old, and I use to go and fill plastic sacks with the well rotted stuff for the garden.
It's certainly has been a nice day. Carole down the road called to see if Ros was back (she saw her car) She drives passed here a dozen times a day, so I can't think she hasn't seen it this week. I told her Ros will ring her at the weekend. I felt reasonable warm standing on the door step, I didn't invite her in as I don't want to cause any gossiping with the neighbours. You can't be too careful, can you.!!!
Have only a couple od chapters to read of Tony's book, then he can have it back. He will take it to the Charity shop, now the we have both read it. I quite liked the Author, so might see what other books are available on Ebay.
I have booked a table for Lunch on Sunday. A treat for her returning home to me. !!! It's only at the local TOBY, but they do excellent food, with three choices of meats and loads of Vegetables. It will save me cooking as well.
If it wasn't for this wind, I think it would be warm enough to sit on the patio, but I won't chance it. !!! ;-) ;-)

Afternoon all,
Lovely sunny day here and so much milder ,the sun feels so warm through the glass .
Colin was up a coupe of times in the night for the loo so his tummy is still not right ,but i feel a little better ,i managed to walk up to Boots to pick our tablets up .
Well my birthday cards are still arriving :-D had a nice one from Shirl today and i nearly opened another but when i turned it over it was for Master Max :-D it's his birthday tomorrow ,Exeter post mark i see ;-) :-D :-D
Sounds as if your getting on well Gill , your turn to rest now while OH does the painting ,i hope the paint doesn't get you coughing to much those fumes can be so strong when you carn't have windows open I've watched those sixty minute makeovers ,how the devil do they paint walls and get all the furniture and pictures back in place .
So lots of mud for Cas to run in Liz ,i bet your careful now after your fall those ruts can soon have you down . I see i have a couple of Dafs well in bud now and the little mini ones are poking through the soil and the Snow Drops look nice ,we don't have that many but the ones we do have have lovely long stalks .
I bet you enjoyed your trip to the pub last night Frank ,bit of air probably helped you sleep .
How lovely that was card from OH Mel ,was it one he bought with a heart on or did he make it ? That was a nice surprise to get the call from your friend . Hope the sun helps to dry out the girls run but if it's so flooded it will take a good few days to dry out ,they must longing to get out for a good old peck about .

I do the wallpapering Frank and OH does the painting, we can each do both jobs but prefer to do the ones we do. I'm not keen on painting and OH isn't to keen on papering, so it suits us this way. I was going to do the hall Frank, so you're not going mad LOL ;-) but have now decided because there isn't much wall space to speak of with all the doors in that room that I will leave papering it and OH will just give it a quick lick of white paint. Although the room is quite bright it's also small so any colour other than white would make the room look dark and smaller. Plus it's easier to paint the ceiling and walls the same colour, then there's no cutting in. It'll be nice to see Ros again at the weekend Frank. Good to see you had a night out.
You mentioned 60 minute makeover Jane. I found some old ones on Sky a few weeks ago and have been recording them and watching them each day, after looking at the programmes I noticed how boring and out of date our place was so now I'm adding a bit of colour in a few rooms. We've only had white or magnolia walls for almost 20 years in all our properties so adding colour is taking a bit of getting used to ;-) It'll be nice to drag myself into the 21st century LOL.
Talking of 60 minute makeover I've just put today's on so I'll go and finish watching it while I have a sandwich. I've just had a lovely bath and feel a lot cleaner and relaxed. I decided to strip the beds as well, so I guess I'm not having the afternoon off I thought I was going to get. At least I'm not doing as much as I normally do, which makes a pleasant change :-)
