Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Feb 2018 10:08

Morning all,

Today the sun is shining brightly but there was a heavy frost last night and this morning.

I am still having trouble getting on the site in the morning and during the day and night and keep getting the error page or my typing stops coming out and I have to click the cursor back on the page.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2018 22:18

Do you know if they said anything as the news came on after football.

Hello Frank

Frank Report 6 Feb 2018 21:53

Just seen the results, so won't bother. You will have to watch Silent Witness on catchup tomorrow. !!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2018 21:23

Well I put the telly on channel one for Silent Witness and there's bl**dy FOOTBALL on.
Have they gone over time?

Frank you'll have to watch the football tomorrow on Iplayer.

Frank

Frank Report 6 Feb 2018 20:42

Hi, from a very annoyed little man. Like a dutiful husband, I cooked dinner and cleared most of the washing up. I sat through an hour of Emmerdale and thought I would watch Football in the conservatory. I put the fan heater on and the T.V. It was on standby for 5 minutes, why I don't know. I waited for it to end and up comes a message to say I need to connect the arial. I haven't touched the dam thing, so I have no idea what has happened. So I am in total limbo.

Ros is or has watched her Eastenders, and at 9.00 there is the final part of Next to Kin. As I haven't seen any of them, I won't be watching that. If it wasn't so cold out I would walk down the pub. But instead I will play around on th laptop and have an early night. Not that I am tired after a good night last night.

Sorry you are not in the best place at the moment Jane, I wish I could offer some advise. xx

Still no snow here, but the temp. is going downnnnn tonight to minus 4/5 So nothing to look forward to tomorrow.

I am a miserable old Bu@@er tonight, I am sorry, but I am cheesed off.

Well, I truly do sympathise with you Jane. The side of my foot is still slightly numb from my original attack and pins and needles sound familiar!! Nothing the GP prescribed seemed to touch it and I remember a nurse friend telling me to take two Nurofen followed half hour later with two paracetamol every six hours! I still do that now as it does help, but not cure!
Watching National Trust Houses with Alan Titchmarsh. It's very interesting including a Roman gold mine!

Jane Report 6 Feb 2018 19:09

I have had this Sciatica now since November :-S Now getting dreadful pins and needles in my calf and foot. I do wish that Chris still had his acupuncture needles as he did Acupuncture when he was working. It is getting me down now .I still have just under a month before my appointment with the Rheumatologist

Gill it is good that Sandra likes her food and is not fussy. My Niece can't stand rice or Pasta. It is the texture.

Mel I think there are far too many onions in this dish for my liking. I will have to pick them out LOL

Gillx Report 6 Feb 2018 18:15

Your appointment came through quickly Frank, good luck tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you and hoping it's not to long before the stones can be sorted.

I use those pouches of rice Jane, they are so quick and easy and one pouch is just enough for Sandra and I. OH doesn't like rice. He's quite a fussy eater, unlike Sandra who will eat pretty much anything. I remember when I went to Chester with mum when the girls were little and we took a picnic. As we were getting on a boat to have a river cruise down the River Dee mum asked Sandra who she was getting on with and she said "WHO'S GOT THE FOOD?"....bless her. It did make us laugh ;-)
Yes my ribs are very sore so I am holding them when I cough, it's not just my ribs my right shoulder blade is sore too. Sorry to hear your Sciatica is playing you up, you could of done without having to take the car. Hope it's not to long before it can be fixed and you're not in pain when you have to take it back to the garage.

Poor Cas Liz at least she's getting better now and not in as much pain by the sounds of it. You were lucky with the weather, it's been miserable here. The snow has all melted now, but it's been a horrible damp day and very cloudy.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2018 18:00

Wel it snowed all morning and afternoon but none of it settled much. The covered raod through the woods with the hazel trees each side dos'nt get the sun at all and the Christmas trees behind them were sprinkled all along their branches and they did look pretty like something off a card.

I got home at just after 3pm today. The drive in was quiet with no traffic in front of me and all the way home too. I went and got some deisel and even the garage was quiet and I was the first one at the till to pay when there is usually four or five people in front of me. They are so slow on the till in there too.

The sun has been trying to come out but it was still snowing. It finerly stopped about a quarter to four.

Jane your dinner sounds nice tonight you'll have to let us know if it tasted good. Sorry you have had bad Sciatica today. Do you take anything for it?

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 6 Feb 2018 17:42

Oh Jane, sciatica!! That's really horrible! I had it years ago, and it was dreadfully painful (reducing me to tears)and in the end the only thing that relieved it was a course of acupuncture! I still occasionally get bouts of it which do clear after a day or two, but nothing like that first attack. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Cold and cloudy here now, do hope it doesn't snow!!
Cassie seems better now and is at least back on all four paws!!

Afternoon All

It has just started snowing here. It is settling on the lawn a bit ,but I hope we dont get a lot as James will be driving at about 4am to the airport for this meeting in Italy tomorrow. He has been working so late lately. It was midnight the other night when he got in and last night it was 10 !!. He said he shouldnt be as late tonight. He will just need his dinner and then an early night.
Poor Cas getting her paw trodden on. It just sounds as though it is badly bruised and nothing worse. That will be a relief for you Liz as you wont want to be having trips to the Vets. They do get under your feet dont they. The number of times I stood on Chester . He would let out an ear piercing yelp and then hold his paw up(making the most of it LOL ) Thomas too gets trodden on sometimes. It is when they sit right behind you and you dont know they are there.

Gill I expect your poor rib muscles will hurt for ages if you are going to be still coughing so much. Do you have to hold on the them when you cough? .
Your cough has eased up now then Frank. At least you might be able now to get some decent sleep. Good luck tomorrow .

Liz that is really good news about Ians PSA result :-D

I have not had a great day. The pain from this Sciatica has been unbearable and has made me feel really quite rotten. I had to take my car in for a service this morning.I could have done without that really. Chris took me back this afternoon to collect it.It has a small oil leak somewhere and will have to go in again. The gear box has to come out so they reckon it is about a 7hr job.Once they get the parts they will ring me and get the car booked in.

I am doing a fairly easy dinner tonight. Cider and Mustard Chicken.A recipe I have pulled out from the Waitrose paper. I think I will add some green beans and Asparagus into the mix so it is all done in the one big frying pan. Rice to go with it.Pouches of rice as they are quick and easy and it is less standing for me.

No sign of snow here, but plenty of clouds. They did say it might snow from he East.

Ros has had to go to Tesco to get Vegetables and BEER. The fridge is almost empty. Just a few carrots and leeks, which I have done for tonight. She will bring a good assortment so I can add to what i've got. TWO packs of Lamb Chops/steaks out for tonight. They look like they will fill us up. At the price on the labels, they aught too.!!! I know lamb is quite pricey, but we do like it.

Glad Cas is getting around O.K. Liz, she will steer well clear of Ian today, I bet.

Yes Mel, if the old man lets you out, each how you go. It can turn nasty in just a few hours so be careful. xx

I canceled my Ultra sound last week, but got another for Wednesday (tomorrow) without any trouble. Must look to see wha time it is. If I remember rightly, I mustn't have anything to eat or drink for SIX HOURS before the Ultra Sound. Just a sip of water. I will certainly miss my FIRST COT.

I trust everyone is fair to middling, so I will leave you too it, and get a cup of coffee and biscuit and watch a bit of NAT.GEO.

Wheres Jane this afternoon. ??

Afternoon all,

It's been snowing on and off all morning some times small flakes and some times those huge flakes it does look lovely but it hasn't really laid.

That's good you had a better night Frank ,probably going out and getting some air in your lungs might have helped .
Sounds as if you've passed it on to Ros now though.

Gill all that coughing can pull your side ,i found my eyes were very sore too like having a load of grit in your eye .
That does seem a long time away for your OH's appointment for his ultra sound, could you not give them a ring and ask that if they have any cancellations and say he would be willing to go at short notice .

Oh poor Cas getting trod on ,don't they yelp out though when you do that ,she'll be right as rain after a day or two ,must be a pinch though for their little toes .

Mel take care if you do go shopping ,it doesn't take long for the roads to clog up when you get those big flakes of snow .

Would you believe it, it's turned into a lovely day here!!! If it were summer it would be a sitting out day for sure!
I took Cas out in the garden with me as I was digging some leeks and carrots. She was hoppity, but full of beans! So not too much damage done!! I lifted all the carrots as most of them have seen better days and need sorting through so that's my afternoon job!!
You sound perkier Frank which is good to hear! Careful when you go out Mel!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Feb 2018 11:52

I'm please you had a better night and no coughing Frank. It gives the old tummy muscles a rest. It is still snowing here and the flakes are getting bigger but the sun is also tring to come out and is murky looing behind the grey. If it carries on and oh sees it he will not let me go!!

Poor little Cas. Fancy Ian treading on her. I bet she wishes she had'nt been around his feet now. A good days est should put her to rights.

Good morning to you all AGAIN.

I was typing merry along when my screen went blank. I checked the leads only to find the power supply lead had come out. I lost everything I had said. So here we go again.

Would you ADAM and EVE it. I didn't cough in the night and stayed in bed all night.

Ros has a sore throat this morning, and mine seems to have turned into a HEAD COLD. Runny nose, and headache, and a mouth like a parrots cage floor.

After dinner last night. (Beef in gravy with Veg) I decided I was going to walk to the pub for the football. I got well dressed up, with extra jumper, my big coat, scarf, gloves and bobble hat (without a bobble). I got down there early and only a few lads were in there. We all got round a table and chased over a few pints.

One of the lads (PETER) I employed as a Saturday Boy over 30 years ago. He cleaned cars and kept the site clean.

It came out in conversation last night. That his father was a right womaniser and complete waste of space as a father and husband. By me employing him, he looked upon me as a FATHER FIGURE. and has been a FRIEND all these years. We see each other whenever he comes to the pub when I am there. HOW NICE is that !!!
He even had the kindness to bring me home, to save me walking or getting Ros out to pick me up.

Had my shower earlier, will get shaved when I finish here.

How strange that there are three of us on here with STONE TROUBLE. I have run out of BUSCOPAN and rung the Dr for some more. They have certainly helped with the discomfort.

Bright sunny morning here, We had a good frost. but that's dispersing as we speak.

I hope Cas is O.K. after being trodden on. We don't know how they feel. but can imagine,We know how we feel when we knock ourselves, and it hurts. Plenty of TLC and I am sure she will be fine. Glad that Ian's results are positive, and things are improving.

No idea what we will have for dinner tonight, I haven't even thought about it.

That was a bit of good news/luck Mel. New lock instead of a new door. what a result.!!!

Ros is gathering dirty washing, mine are all in the bin. What a good boy I am !!!

Gill, OH's appointment for his gallstones took an age to come, about a month!! Luckily he doesn't seem to be in much pain, just a niggle now and then. Being in constant pain must be really debilitating, and then you feeling so poorly too - not good! :-| <3 L.L is in her bed looking sad!! OH is on a guilt trip!!! ;-)
