Afternoon all,
Rainy day here ,we even had a little snow mixed in with it ,the sun has tried to shine at times ,Colin has tried to pressure wash the slabs but has got rained off.
Frank ,we didn't like that Chalk paint it had such a dull finish and we found it chipped easily , we used the Wilko Quick Dry Satin Furniture and Cupboard Paint ,not to shiny a finish and it doesn't chip and it's quick drying too ,Colin painted a sideboard and we have it in the conservatory it came up a treat with two coats ,we keep our shoes in the bottom cupboard to keep them out of Max's way . I think he still has plenty left in the tin so it goes a good way .

Sorry that the bantams won't use the litter tray. Why should they ?? Surprised to hear there is snow still around down your way Mel. We had a few little piles where people had cleared their drives.
It's now SUNSHINE, but still with that horrible cold wind.
Ros has been looking at this CHALK PAINT to paint all the kitchen doors on the cupboards. The trouble is we don't know how much we will need. There are plenty of suppliers on Ebay and the prices are so various. It makes you wonder if the more you pay the better it is. or are they very much the same quality, I recon it's SUCK IT AND SEE, i'll ask Harvey's advise when he comes Sunday, to take us out for Mothers day. Roa spoke to Conrad, and they will try to get up here earlyish, so we can have a chat before the other turn up. But knowing Jan, they will be late.
Everything is ready for dinner tonight. I used one potato for chips, and threw half of it away, because it was SO LARGE. We could never eat the amount of chips it would have made. lol lol
Back to my book. See you later.

Thanks Liz, It must be nice for him to call now and again for a meal and a chat. Our best Man and maid of Honour lived in Wantage and managed the local Club. We haven't heard from them in years.
The only time we see Harvey and Julia is when we invite them up for a Sunday lunch. I know he works hard, but it would be nice to have a knock on the door and find them standing there. It doesn't seem to happen these days.
It's stopped raining, but the wind is so cold. I only went to the garage to get steaks out of the freezer, and came in shivering.
I think I will get a coffee, then get things ready for dinner tonight. Sirloin Steaks with the trimmings. Nice and easy and makes a change.

M lives in Cranleigh Surrey, Frank, but spends weekdays working about 40 miles from us. He's been running his own printing firm from a business park nr Wantage since he first started up when he was 28! (he's 53 now!) He also owns a one bedroom cottage which he and his ex wife bought as a second home when they separated. He lives there during the week. So for us its all quite convenient! Better get my list together, don't want to go out without it!!

Good morning to you all,
We have rain and wind here, so a bit different up and down the Country. !! What are we missing, We have RAIN, SNOW, SUNSHINE. all we need now is a hurricane.
Not a good night again Mel, Got settled down and the brain box got into gear. It took me back to 1942. Being evacuated to Bacup, Rochdale, in Lancashire. Horrendous memories, that come and haunt me every so often.
I got up and sat with Ros for a while. When she went to bed I continued reading my book until 3.00 am. I did sleep then until 7.00 am Ros slept in until 9.15. We have had our COTs. I don' fancy breakfast, but Ros will get herself some cereal.
Martine and Brian are going on a railway weekend on Saturday, for his birthday,so won't be seeing Ros. We will do the shopping tomorrow, while she is in Tesco, I will ge my hair cut. I has' been cut since before Christmas, so well overdue.
Enjoy your evening with M tonight Liz, what will you be cooking. ??How far does he live from you. ?
Conrad flys home tomorrow evening late. I suggested he drives up here Saturday and stays the night with Jan's daughter Kerry. That would save the driving up and back on Sunday for Mothers Day. He won't do that as it's Jan's Birthday Saturday and he has booked somewhere to take her out for the evening. I's good that neither of them drink, so they will be fit to drive early Sunday morning.
Ros got herself a LARGE Thornton's Easter Egg. It sits on the table in pride of place, lol lol
Off for my shower and back to the book, which I might well finish today. I have SEVEN more sitting under my computer desk. !!!

Gill, I have emailed you! Very windy here this morning, but bright sunshine! Dentist for OH, then Waitrose, then the surgery to change my pills. They should have given me my new ones, but dispensed the old ones by mistake!!! Tonight M is coming to supper so had better add 'pudding' to my list! We watched Lucy Worsley last night, pyrotechnics Tudor style!! I wonder if you watched it Anne? It was very interesting. Thank you for the pic of the hare Mel, it's very well done.

Morning Gill and all,
No snow here but beautifull sunshine and blue skies with some white clouds. Its not very warm though.
After playing all day yesterday I think some HW is on the cards for today. Definatly some ironing as I have some of my long sleeve cotton tops to iron and t shirts for oh. They are so big its like ironing table cloths. He likes them really baggy so he can move his poorly shoulder easily.
Frank did you have a better night last night than the night before? I hope so. Did you finish your book yesterday? It will be another for Tony next door I expect once you have finished it.

Morning all
Snowing here, but unfortunately not the right snow for Sandra to build a snowman as it's very wet, so we've decided to take her out to buy the books she wanted, plus I want to buy some pictures and curtains for the living room. It's quite warm considering the weather. Rosie's just been for her breakfast so at least I know she's had something to eat.
Not sure how long we'll be shopping when we come home I've got to move the furniture back in the living room and put the mirror and ornaments up, so I should be back on here late afternoon, when hopefully I can catch up with all the posts.
Does anyone else have snow?

I have not done any of the things I said in my post except play today. I have made a little brooch I saw in my magazine and liked so I copied it sort of. Its taken me all day to make with lunch in between and dinner. I cooked a chicken casserole with button mushrooms, leeks and bacon and a tin of chicken soups with a knob of butter and some black pepper. I used thighs as I find them nice and tender. Fried them off first and the bacon. Oh had rice and I had a jacket tato with mine.

Jus popping in before beddy byes. T.V. has been absolutely rubbish tonight. We have the Vet Programme recorded so will watch that sometime tomorrow.
Martines birthday is next month. I have lost out on three more bracelets this evening. Whoever these BU@@@S are the are catching me out in the last few seconds. Next time I will put in a bigger bid and see where it goes.
Glad Ruby is O.K. Anne. It is horrible with an ear infection. My Black poodle had to have an operation on her ear, because of trouble. It never was the same.
I see THOMAS is keeping you on your toes Jane. We always had and still have a cat flap. So he could come and go as he liked. Have you tried him with one ??? £27,00 is a lot for window cleaning. How often do you have them done. ??

Evening all,
Happy birthday Shirl hope you've had a lovely day .
We had rain first thing and it's been quite dull and chilly here ,we nipped to Tesco's and got a bit of shopping and i was glad to get home out of the rain . Our green bin was emptied yesterday it should have been emptied last wednesday but with the weather they couldn't work ,the black recycling bin went out this morning so i expect it will be a day or two before that gets emptied as they will have a lot of catching up to do .
What a shame you didn't get the bracelet Frank , when is the birthday ? will you have time to look for another ? Sounds as ii your getting through your books .
At least you enjoyed the chicken Jane it did sound tasty with all the herby butter . Is it time to prune roses now ,i never quite know when to start pruning ,the old rose that was my Nannies needs a good prune ,it's a rambler and i'm never sure if it should be pruned or not ,there is quite a bit of dead stuff that i need to cut from underneath . Your right about the windows Jane that snow has left them in a heck of a mess ,they look like they have dust all over them or misted up ,i think tomorrow should be a better day so i'll see if i can clean some .

Afternoon All Gill I hope the Chemo goes well for OH's Brother and that he is not too ill with the side effects.
Firstr miaowing this morning Frank was 4am ! I just put my hand out over the side ofthe bed and gave him a rub and then ignored him.He must have gone off somewhere for a little while and then he was back just after 5 ,so I let him out then.At least I seem to be able to go back to sleep once i get back to bed.It is just a flipping pain though. Roll on the winter again with the dark nights and mornings.I might not get disturbed He has just come in now after legging it earlier when we had to do his flea treatment.I know he will go out again later. My Neighbour 2 doors down said that she saw him crossing the field(it is actually their garden but just a very long stretch of grass) with a Rabbit hanging from his mouth .He must carry them such a long way!
How long do you have to get a Bracelet for Martine Frank? I bet you will still manage to find another lovely one.
Yes the Chicken dinner last night was a bit of a let down. There was nothing wrong but was just nothing special .The Chicken with all that lovely Herb Butter was really nice ,tasty and moist but I think it was the veg that seemed a bit bland. I have made that Meatloaf for tonight. So that is all ready to just put in the oven now.
Chris is doing the ironing . I did say I would do it but I did a lot of hoovering and then could hardly stand up ,so I think he took pity on me I didn't argue LOL. I think it is very cold outside now. It's been quite a nice sunny afternoon and so Chris did some pruning of the Rose Bushes.I think we could possibly get a little more winter weather tomorrow I must collect my prescription tomorrow But I am not going to start taking them until after the weekend as we will be with Hannah and Gareth on Sunday and I dont want to have any unwanted side effects then. Plus it would be nice to enjoy a glass or two of wine to celebrate her Birthday and I am not sure if I can drink when taking the tablets .
We had the window cleaner just before all the snow came. You should see the state of them now !!!!!!! A right mess That was a waste of £27 AND some mucky pup has pooped all down the window where the bird feeder is stuck on. I'll sort that bit tomorrow as it is not a pleasant sight. Just going to have a hunt now for the Birthday card I bought for Hannah . It has vanished

Do nothing like me Mel. Not having a breakfast AGAIN, and Ros at the hairdressers, I made myself a ham sandwich and opened a tin of Tomato soup. Very nice it was too.
Have been bidding on a bracelet for Martines Birthday. I was winning unto the last THREE SECONDS, then some B@@@@r out bid me. So I will have to look again when Ros is home. There are lots to choose from, but that will be down to MADAM. !!!!
The sunshine is really nice now. Clear blue sky with fluffy white clouds. Looks warm enough to have a walk. But don't think I will. Feel more like have a nap.
Back to my book which I am well into. So another one one for Tony soon !!!!

Hi Frank. It seems its the same here as you have there. That breeze is a bit chilly still. We had a short sharp shower just now. The sky came over looking very purple but then it passed quickly and the sun never really went in.
Now what shall I do now? Clean the rest of the bathroom, do some ironing or look for something else to make????

Morning all
Sunny here today. Makes a nice change.
Sorry I haven't been on here for a while OH's brother hasn't been very well and is having more Chemo so we've been at MIL's for a few days. Hence the living room still needs finishing off so that's what I'm doing today.
I haven't had a chance to catch up with the posts yet so hope everyone is okay. I'll try and get back on here later when I finished the two alcoves, if not, then tomorrow.
