Frank Report 28 Feb 2018 11:19

Good morning Mandy, Liz and all.

We have had a light covering of snow, but nothing like yours Mandy. Best place today is in doors in the warm. On the news this morning they said Devon and Cornwall were getting snow today. So watch out Mel. Th forces is not good anywhere in the U.K. and parts of Europe are in a very bad way with snow drifts everywhere.

Ros has her nail appointment at 12.30 pm, so should be safe to get out of the village.

When we got home yesterday there was a card on the mat to say. Sorry I missed you, and that a parcel had been left by the back gate. I went to retrieve it, but NOTHING THERE. I have spoken to the delivery people this morning, and they say they have no record of my name and address. But the driver has a photo on his phone of the parcel. We have had A WHITE VAN coasting around the village lately and things have gone missing. Why on earth he didn't leave it with one of my neighbours I will never know.

The only thing we were expecting was a SOUP MAKER. We ordered one over a week ago. When it didn't arrive, I notified the Company. They very kindly sent another one, by express delivery, as we need it for a present. Which they did and it arrived on Monday. I can only assume it was the original Soup Maker that arrived yesterday, but I DON'T KNOW. as It could be anything, and we are not expecting anything else.

Take care all, if you are having to go out. Stay warm. Where's our Gill. ??

Goodness Mandy, that doesn't sound good to say the least!! No snow here but the wind is icy to say the least. We're not going anywhere today either! Have done some washing which will dry on the clothes horse tonight. Our tumble dryer is in OH's workshop and tbh I hardly ever use it. Sometimes in the summer if the weather is horrid but too warm for a fire!
Better get on!!

Morning all,

Lots of snow has fallen over night ,i should think it must be over four inches or may be more of snow out there now and it's been snowing since we got up .
The A47 is gridlocked nothing can move and all the schools are closed .
Colin is now going out to clear a path to the wood shed so he can get the wood in ,the fire is lit the heating has been on too so we're lovely and warm ,we're not going any where today that's for sure .

Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe ,it's so bad out there .

I hav'nt had the pc on all afternoon. I went to Holsworthy to get the chicken food and we had a couple of snow flurries in the morning but not enough to settle anywhere. On the way home there was no snow on Dartmoor but had another little spell of snow on the way home.

It is very cold but the wind had dropped today and in the sun it was quite warm. You could feel it on your face.

Anne I think they said lst week that Shetland would be on Wednesday this week. Makes me cross when I was looking forward to something decent to watch on a Tuesday.

I have been trying to get through to our oil supplier but all I get is a recorded message telling me they are inundated with calls at the moment and to leave a message and they will get back to us by phone. Nothing in the last two days. :-( :-(

Anne ,I dont think I have read any Penny Vincenzi books although the name is familiar. What type of books does she write?
It is now snowing here and a fair covering in the last hour. Thomas is in :-D and I have had words with him as to not wake me up at some stupid hour. No doubt fallen on deaf ears though :-S :-S
Dishwasher on ,Chris has gone to bed,I am just watching 24hrs in A&E and then will be of too. Night Night x

Good evening all

Happy Birthday to Carmel.

We had a fair bit of snow today but only a little stayed on the ground but it is bitterly cold again. I read on the news that supermarkets are running out of food because people are panic buying in some areas that haven't had any snow yet how silly is that?

I also read that Penny Vincenzi one of my favourite authors has died at the age of 78, I have read most of her books and still have one more left to read.

That must have been a relief Frank that your car only needed two tyres replaced and at a good price.

Still no Gill I hope she is getting better not like her to be away for so long.

Just going to watch a recording of Endeavour as they have cancelled Shetland for a football match and showing it tomorrow.

I also keep getting the error message at least once a day, so annoying.

Afternoon All
It is getting colder and colder by the minute now. We have had some quite heavy snow flurries and some it looks like ice. The poor birds are scrapping like mad over the window feeder and the bird bath continously freezes up.I have tried to de ice it several times today but within just a short time it is solid again. I can't do any more today. My fingers nearly dropped off out there.I just got some things out of the freezer and that was bad enough.

That was a decent price for the 2 tyres Frank. At least now you know they are safe for Ros driving in this weather .The furthest I have been today is just to feed the birds.I reckon tomorrow will be the same .Fitz is coming for lunch which is why I have got some bits out of the freezer. It is just things left from Xmas like Sticky Chicken Skewers ,Some Sausage Rolls and I have a Pizza in the fridge so that will all have to do.Chris said he might make some bread in the morning so we could always have Cheese and Pickle with that.

This weather that is supposed to be happening later in the week looks pretty scary.I think I saw something about the temperature with the wind being -17 !!!!! I'm not sure though if that was for here. I hope Steve(the homeless man ) has managed to get himself registered for the night Shelter. It must be absolutely grim for people like him at the moment.

I was going through my missed calls on my mobile just now and most of them are cold calls. I see one is from ABERBAIJAN !!!!!!!! For goodness sake :-S :-S

Shirl has SO MUCH snow hasn't she !!!! She looked good though all wrapped up nice and warm :-D.. I think a few times she has had lots of snow we have too in the UK.
I always think it is funny she lives in Melanie Ave Mel :-D :-D.

I see on FB that it is Carmels Birthday today. A nice pic of Will giving her a lovely kiss on the cheek :-D Happy Birthday Carmel <3

STILL no Gill ???? I hope she is ok.This will be 3 days now. I don't like it when one of us is missing for so long :-S

I see the Moon is very big. That doesn't bode well for my sleep tonight (Thomas) he was going nuts last night at 2.30 miaowing so loudly just desperate to go out. I can see the same thing happening again tonight :-S. I don't know where he is now.He has been out for most of the day with just a couple of brief appearances .
I have a very twitchy eye !!!. One of those that makes you think everyone else can see it and think you are winking at them LOL . It's driving me potty :-S
Time to get some food on the go.

Afternoon all,

We took the car for MOT Passed with advisories. BACK TYRES HAVE CRACKS IN WALLS. We went straight to our TYRE man and had TWO new ones fitted. £90.00 the pair including everything. So not bad. There are a couple of other things, that aren't that important. They will be done by our local man as and when.

We stopped off for lunch and I had a couple of pints.Ready for a few zzzz now. Ros wanted to take me for a haircut, but that can wait, in this weather. A few little flurries of snow, but nothing to write home about.

My thought also Mel, it looked so much like an explosion, and one cn only guess it was GAS It took the whole house out of he terrace.

Still very cold, so naturally the hearing is on. Blow the expense, will worry about the cost later. I am not going to sit in the cold.

I do hope you are all keeping warm, an that Gill and Fmily are doing alright.

Most of the snow has gone now the road is all clear and the paths are clear where the sun has caught them ,it's gone off the roof too so that sun has some power ,i think we're still in for some more snow showers this afternoon though.

Well the tops of the wardrobes are now nice and dust free ,i've hoovered all the bedrooms and down the stairs ,stripped the bed and washed the bedding so i've got on quite well , now watching doctors .

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Feb 2018 13:10

Are you all frozen to the spot?

I have been outside defrosting the chicken drinkers. I have only done one in each of the runs as the metal one is so frozen I can't get the top off and if I pour boiling water on it it will only freeze again so I just do the little ones I can get in the sink.

Not so windy today and the suns quite warm when you stand with it on you. There is clouds in the sky but they are mostly white with a grey underneath.

I was just talking to oh about that dreadful fire in Leicester that blew the house down. He said he thinks it could have been a gas explosion as the houses either side were still standing and gas goes up and through the roof. The hsop had only been open since January. 5 killed. So not a good start to their business or the new year. We complain about having colds and flu but it must devistate that family.

Mornig all and Frank,

Yes got your email Frank and come on the thread and there you are!! I keep getting the Error page every time I come back to the thread. It is really getting to me ow and I have to go and click on Customer Support and then are a wait I go to General Chat and then click on my bookmark for this page. Some times I get here sometimes I have to go through the whole proceedure again. I wrote to GR and they just told me to clear my cache. I have windows 10 which does it automaticly.

Very cold here this morning but not a trace of any snow. I coud really do with going to Holsworthy for chicken food and then I know I am ok to stay home for at least two weeks.

Gosh did'nt Shirl have a lot of snow on Valentines Day and I had ordered it for here for my birthday and she got it!! Perhaps its cos she lives on Melanie Ave.

Frank Report 27 Feb 2018 10:09

Good morning Mandy. And all,

I sent an email to Mel to say I couldn't get on the thread. Then HERE I AM. !!

We keep seeing the old flake of snow, but nothing like you Mandy.

I was all tucked up before 11.00 pm last night, but stuck it out and didn't get up. Last time I looked at the clock was 2.30 am. Was awake by 7.30. Got up had my TEA

I m all showered and shaved, and already to go off for the MOT around 10.30. It's booked at National Tyres, They do it for half price for previous customers. So that a good saving. I just hope I don't have to spend the savingsPLUS MORE to get it through the MOT.

Madam is in the shower, so needs to get her skates on if we are leaving at 10.30. I will go a defrost the screen, so when she's ready we can be off.

Morning all,

Not much snow over night but since we've been up we've had several really heavy snow showers with huge snow flakes so the ground now has a good half inch covering.
We're not going out any where today we'll just keep in the warm ,we have a few inside jobs to do ,i need Colin to get up on the steps and dust the top of the wardrobes in our bedroom .

We're nice and warm ,we kept the wood burner in last night and the heating is on too .
Hope Gill is ok perhaps we will hear from her today ,there's so many people with this sickness bug .

Did you have another good night Frank . ?

Good evening all

It's been bitterly cold here today, we have had several flurries of snow the last one being the heaviest and had started to lay but it has stopped now.

Colin sent a picture of the view from his St Petersburg hotel room, they had a lot of ground snow there, he's back in Scotland now so there will be more snow.

Like you Jane & Mandy I didn't think Hold the Sunset was very funny either, I do enjoy Mum and 2 doors down. This afternoon on BBC 1 there is a new afternoon series Shakespeare and Hathaway which looks good, although I miss watching The Coroner.

Frank pleased to hear your sister is better than she was, that will be a nice surprise when she receives your flowers,

Just going to watch Only Connect and then University Challenge
