Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Feb 2018 19:13

I have sent you a pic of what I have been making.

Liz I love your daffs and the little jug. I see that was a present from your grandaughter. A nice gift as you can use it a lot. I like things I can use.

I have been having trouble trying to send emails again. Did you all get it this time please?

I'm not cooking tonight as oh said he will have toasted cheese sandwiches tonight. I shall have a boiled egg.

Oh Liz. I just saw the number 6 not the 6th !! I am glad Cas is only 3 as that was pretty scary thinking she was already 6 !!!!!.LOL I thought I was losing the plot.

James has just got in and will be gone as soon as he has had a Pizza. He is going out to catch up with some old school friends tonight.

Pleased to hear Thomas is okay Jane, I was worried about him with you saying he ran outside, that he might of run off again. You were saying that the cat litter goes outside the little tray, we used to have that problem when we had cats so used the base of the cage we had underneath it, it caught all the bits and was then easy to clean.

Sandra would be make up to live where you live Liz, she loves horses and would really like watching them from the window. What a lovely birthday present, I like pretty things like that. So Cas is three, like Max the time has gone by really quickly.

I thought OH was almost finished with the painting, but forgot he's still got the emulsion to put on the ceiling, that will be done tomorrow then the room will be finished. I'm enjoying seeing the transformation, but not the mess that goes with it. Every room has got something in it, from houseplants to boxes with kitchen doors in, so I'll be glad when it's all finished and we can put the bungalow back to normal again. At the moment we have a sofa right in the middle of the living room so OH can get to the wall where the window is, which is making it difficult to walk around.

Going to dish up dinner now, OH will do the last coat of gloss paint after we've eaten, then once the living room is completely finished he'll make a start on painting the hall. It's all go here at the moment.

Jane, Cas is three! Just one year older than Max!! :-D
Gill, my granddaughter gave me the jug for my birthday! It is pretty and I really love it! The view is good too, mostly there are two horses in there, I think Merlin is jealous of all their space!!

Happy Birthday to Max <3 <3 2 years old already !!!. He is all grown up now. I cant believe Cas is 6 either!!!.

Love your Valentine flowers Liz :-D :-D :-D

Frank, I like Peter James and have a feeling I might have read that book. That title certainly rings a bell. I think about 99% of the books I read are all Crime/Psychological Thrillers. Not long to wait now until Ros is home again. I hope the journey home is a better one than the one they had going down .

Mel I think the idea of using that covered cat litter tray is a great idea for a sand box for the birds. They will enjoy scratting around in that . I just have a bog standard open litter tray for Thomas.Luckliy he is a tidy boy and doesnt kick much litter out at all.He doesnt really use it too often . Saying that I noticed today he has used it sometime this morning and had done a poo. That is most unusual for him. Maybe it was his worm treatment and he needed to go quickly lol. Gill he is fine after the treatment .He was gone quite a long time after I did it yesterday and i could see by his fur he had been licking it :-S

Mandy I didnt know either that you could have tablets for fleas from the Vets. I do remember Worm Tabs for the dogs and they were BIG. Chester always reacted a bit strange when I did his flea stuff on his neck.Thomas is just the same. I hate having to do it.

Mel you mentioned the programme Strike. I love it and cant wait for this next series. We havent had to wait too long for this one.
I enjoyed too the 2 episodes of the school children who are high achievers but are from disadvantaged backgrounds. They will be followed for the next couple of years until they finish school. I felt really quite sad that some of them felt that they were just not good enough and lacked confidence ,,just not realising that they can achieve any goal .It brought tears to my eyes at times with the terribly cramped conditions some were having to live in and not a free space anywhere for them to be on their own to do their school work. I cant wait now to see the next programme which will probably be this time next year.I want them all to do well :-DThey deserve to.

Frank I watched Shetland . I have seen this before and it is not my favourite really. All a bit slow and dour .

Where is Anne? Hope she is alright and was able to take Ruby to the Doggy Meet on Sunday.

Oh heck,I need to get a log on the fire.It has almosrt gone out . Chris has left me in charge too :-S

So your book is all finished now Frank? Lets hope you can borrow another one to tide you over until your new books arrive. That was a nice thought to buy some daffodils for Ros's return, she'll like those. It must be awful for Simon every Friday, how long as he had to go, will it be for the rest of his life?

I like your photo of your daffs Liz, the jug you have them in is very pretty and also the view from your kitchen window.

Those two years soon passed didn't they Mandy. Love the picture of Max. Pleased to hear Colin is better now, hope you both have a good nights sleep tonight. OH has almost finished the painting, just the rad and the wood the curtain track is on, but unfortunately the paint on the picture rail at the side of the window isn't dry yet so I can't take the curtains down without there being a chance of paint getting on them, so the rest of the painting will be finished after dinner, as the picture rail should be dry then.

I'm just watching today's 60 minute makeover. I like red but they have gone crazy with it, putting it in most of the rooms. I wonder what it'll look like when it's all finished?

Going to get a cuppa now and watch the end of it before dinner time. I can't believe it's almost 5.30pm and it's still light outside. Don't we put the clocks forward next month?

'Need you dead' Frank! what a title!! :-D. I'm sure it's a good read though and will bear it in mind!!
OH has come back from offloading the scrap! It made £40!! so it was worth doing!!
Cas and I did a bit of gardening after lunch as it was so nice and sunny here, and every little helps!!!
We have chicken (for a change!!) in white sauce for supper with mushrooms and rice. Nice and easy, not much clearing up!!
At least your chickens must have had a drier day Mel which must have been a relief for them!

Well the book is finished, I will return it toTony, and see if he has another to keep me going until my books arrive.

I see we have done it again Mandy, posted together. I can remember you telling us about Max as a puppy, I can't believe it's two years ago. The curtains are for Devon. he property was built in the 1860 so the windows are floor to ceiling 14/16 foot high.. Jan has battery operated blinds in them at the moment, but only come half way down. they will stay there, but she wants big curtains that she can draw in the winter. The windows have been replaced with double/triple glazed plastic windows, so there is no cold coming in. But it's nice to shut the dark nights out isn't it.

Pam next door has called this afternoon to see if I need any shopping getting tomorrow. Bit late in the day, but the thought was there. lol

The sun is so bright now, that I have had to draw the curtain, so that I can see to type. I expect er will have another good frost tonight.

Starting to get peckish, so I think I will see about getting my F & C. I can then settle down and watch the early news tonight.

Frank Report 16 Feb 2018 14:31

For what ever reason I haven't watched any Olympics, which is strange for me as I like any sports. It might be that I am reading more, with no distractions from the T.V.

I have ordered TWO books for the same author as I am reading now. Both "BUY IT NOW" and I am still winning the other books at £2.00 for SIX. 33p each can't be bad.

T.V has;t been on today. I got myself showered and shaved, I have put trousers and a shirt on today. I feel quite dressed up. lol If it stays like this this evening I could be tempted to go the the pub. There is a match starting at 7.45. and it will be a bit of company for me.

I didn't realise you had had CAS that long Liz, Where is all this time going ??

Simon rang earlier. He is at the hospital having his blood removed. It must be a real drag having to go there every Friday. I am not sure how much blood they take, I must ask him. I am pleased that I haven't got the same blood disorder. It looks like he is the only one in the family.

The bulbs are all coming to life in the garden. If the gaffs were open I would pick a bunch for Ros's home coming. I might ask Tony to pick up a bunch for me when he goes to Morrison's first thing tomorrow. That will give her a surprise.

We have a village draw called the 250 club. We pay £10.00 a year, and the woman who collects it has just been. Good job Ros left me with some money or she would have had to come back. I just don't use MONEY. I only ever use my card at the pub or if we go out to eat. Roa on the other hand has always got money in her purse.

I am almost at the end of my latest book. So will be glad when the others arrive. He is such a good author, to the point where you don't want to put the book down. It's about a police DCI stationed in Brighton. and a murder of a young woman. I still haven't guessed who DONE IT. If any of you enjoy a thriller, the Authors name is PETER JAMES. The book I am reading has sold NINETEEN MILLION. So he must have a draw on people. The book is called "NEED YOU DEAD"

I've done my chips for tonight, so will be looking forward to my F & C around 6.00 pm tonight.

Afternoon all,

Another beautiful sunny day here ,a bit chilly first thing as we had a very sharp frost but once the sun came up it soon went .

Max is two today ,it doesn't seem nearly two years since we went to see him as a tiny puppy ,he was only a week old when we first saw him .
Mel he had a good sniff of the birthday card ,thank you for sending it .
Your Banties will like the sand bath ,i can just see them having a good old flap about in the sand .

Colin's better now Frank he had a much better night ,where as i woke umpteen times ,i had quite a bit of water as my mouth was so dry.
So Ros will be back tomorrow then Frank ,is the curtain Material for your lounge or the house in Devon ?

Haven't seen the ladies Skeleton Gill but did see we had a bronze in the men's Skeleton.
How is OH getting on with the painting ?

Gillx Report 16 Feb 2018 13:53

Lovely crisp morning here, just the day for a doggy birthday!
It was Cas's on the 6th, she was three!!! I can't believe we've had her so long! She still plays like a puppy, but is such a sweet affectionate girl that all is always forgiven!!
Today we're taking a load of scrap to the local merchant to dispose of. They always pay quite well so it's worth doing. My two daffs are coming out, and look quite springlike!!
Nothing else happening here today. Hope everyone's aches and pains are better, particularly your sciatica Jane, that is such a wicked pain and very wearing. I certainly wouldn't want it again!

Morning all

Bright and sunny here but very cold.

<3 <3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX <3 <3 <3

How old is Max today Mandy? Hope you and Colin are feeling better now, there's nothing worse than an illness lingering. Hope it's nothing to serious with your car and it doesn't cost to much to fix.

So you're keeping yourself busy with the washing Frank, like you said Ros will be pleased when she gets home as I'm sure she'll have quite a bit of washing of her own to do. That was nice of Jane to ring you last night, it would of been nice to have a chat with someone. I can imagine it can be a bit lonely on your own.
Did you win the bids on the books?

How lovely to have a free bee Jane, that must of been a lovely surprise. It was quite expensive too if you'd of had to buy it yourself. How is Thomas today after his flee treatment, was he out long? Those poor children in those school in America, apparently there have been 19 shootings in schools so far this year. If I was a parent over there I'd be worried sick when I sent my children to school.

So you had a sleep too Mel. I think I've just over done things lately so felt really tired all the time. I had a lovely hot bath which just made me feel even more sleepy. I still managed to have a good nights sleep too and didn't wake up until nearly 9am, so I must of needed it all. That's a nice idea to put some sand down for your girls, much better than walking on all that soggy ground.

Frank

Frank Report 16 Feb 2018 10:14

Good morning you lovely people xxx

Nice bright frosty morning here also. The roofs opposite are still white as in the pavements. So it must have been heavy one.

Ros has rung already. She/they are going to see woman about the lounge curtains today. To see what material she has and how much they are likely to cost.

Sleeping until 5.00 pm Mel, if I did that I would be up all night. I really try not o have forty winks in the afternoon, for that reason.

I bet the girls will like a nice sand bath. It helps clean their feathers and get rid of any mites. Mine use to have a spot in the run they used, and loved lying there in the afternoon sun, sunbathing or what. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I see you have the sleep bug too Gill. Mind you with all this decorating you have been doing I suppose you are tired. Was it yesterday you had a nice soak in the bath.?? that would relax you, and make you a bit sleepy.

Hows the poorly soldier this morning Mandy. Did he have a better night. I hope so, for you also. Theres nothing worse than someone wriggling around beside you all night,is there.

Thanks Jane for your call last night. It helped brake the boredom of siting alone. Sorry your back is still bad with this horrible pain, lets hope the excersises help to clear it up.

I did a coloureds wash last night. All my underpants, T shirts, socks, and jogging bottoms. I spread them all on the radiators through the bungalow. This morning they were all dry, so have put them away. Only leaves a few whites in the laundy basket. Ros will be pleased with me. BROWNIE POINTS lol lol.

I hope Anne is well, she posted birthday greetings to Mel, and that was all. !!!

How old is Max today Mandy.?? Give him a treat from me please. ;-) ;-)

I've got two nice COD LOINS out of the freezer this morning, so F & C for me tonight, with NO BATTER.

From what Ros said, they will be leaving reasonable early in the morning, so should be home before lunch. If so, she can go to Tesco to get something for lunch, and I can still go to see the football. IF SHE LETS ME :-P :-P :-P :-P

:-D <3 :-D <3 :-D <3 Happy Birthday Max :-D <3 :-D <3 :-D <3

Morning all,

We have sunshine after quite a heavy frost which is still in places the sun has'nt reached.

Can't believe its Friday again. The weeks are going by so quickly. Our Ros will be back home tomorrow with our Frank and it only seems like she's been away a couple of days. I bet it feels longer to Frank being on hhis own.

May clean the bantams out today if it not too cold out there.

Whie oh was up in the loft he brought down a covered cat litter tray which has been up there since I came down here. I thought I would see how it fits in the bantam run so I can put some sand in it for them to have a dust bath. I do sometimes give them a trug with old potting compost in and they spread it everywhere so this being covered it may not make so much mess as its hard to get the broom in there.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 15 Feb 2018 19:17

Gosh that was a nice freebie Jane.

I too had a sleep this afternoon. Very unlike me as it dos'nt happen very often but I went in the bedroom and the sun was shining through the wind right onto the bed and oh was on there too. I heard him get up a bit later and wrapped myself in the bedspread thing we put on in the winter and to stop the sun bleaching the quilt cover. I woke up at 5 to 5pm. Shot straight out to corn the chickens as it was a bit late and then started dinner. We are having the sheep sh*t pie tonight.

Poor Colin and yourself Mandy. I hope you get better soon. It must feel like ages since you have been out anywhere. It sounds like the throttle cable on the car. I wonder if its broken or just stuck after all the wet weather we have had. It has'nt been used for a while with you both being under the weather.

Poor Jane being in pain all day. Will you come down to Plymouth on your own or will Janice come with you?

I don't know if any of you watched the programs some time ago called Strike but it back on again soon. It was good and I liked it and I am sure someone else on here said it was good . May have been Jane as its a detective thing.

Must go and look at the spuds incase they are falling apart!!
