Hi all.
Well the sunshine this morning has given way to cloud. which looks a bit ominous so we could get the weather they said was spreading from the East. THANKS MANDY !!!
Had a toasted bacon and tomato darn for lunch with a coffee. Was tempted to put some cheese in with the bacon, but thought about my waistline lol.
You will have to let us know what you get, and how you get on with Freeview Liz, I have been tempted before, but not sure if Ros will get her Jewellery programmes. "GEMS" and Jewellery Maker. ?? Do you get Nat.Geo. as well ??
Gill, the last place you needed to be this morning was in the greenhouse. WHAT ARE YOU LIKE ???. If you get a chill on top of this throat thing, you will end up in bed for a week.!! Then who's going to look after the family. SILLY GIRL !!!!xxx
I suppose Cas still needs her run, whatever the weather. I know my old Labs who run for miles if I let them. They never seem to tire out. ONLY ME, even though I was a young man then.
Hope your man turns up this afternoon Mel. That's not good messing you around with appointments. If he doesn't turn up this time, get someone else.
I have just had a "HOT FLUSH" I have had to take my jumper off. The heating is on, but not too high.
We are in favour. BOTH Conrad and Jan phoned today to see how we are. Jan is coming up his way at the weekend to see an old friend over Kettering way, she is also hoping to go to Leeds to visit an Uncle, who visits her in Paignton. She will spend either Friday or Monday with us, so she can go shopping with Ros. "MORE EXPENSE" My poor piggy bank ;-) ;-) ;-)
Suns out again. The conservatory is nice and warm, so I might take my book out there for a while. (IT MIGHT LIKE IT) JOKE. !!!

Beautiful morning here, not sure how long it will last though! The chap came as promised and we've settled for going onto Freeview, which he is going to set up for us on Wednesday. We've got to go out and buy a box probably from John Lewis as they have a better guarantee time, and more choice than Currys. So sorry to hear that you are feeling so rough Gill, I have e-mailed you but if you feel to poorly to reply, I'll understand! Today the doggy coat is supposed to be being delivered! I'm sure it will be, but you never quite know till it happens!! Frank you really are going through the mill with this cough, honey and lemon is very soothing. I agree with you about Endeavour, We like it because it's Oxford, but as you said the storyline is a bit weak and the diction a bit muffled!! I think, like Silent Witness, it's just run out of steam and the storyline has become 'boring'!! Hope all coughs and colds are better today. Must take Cas for a run!

Morning all
Dry here today, I've just cut back a few plants I have in the greenhouse and then used the cuttings to make more plants which are now on my kitchen window sill. the job only took a few minutes so not to bad as I feel awful again today so I won't be doing anything else. My throat is so bad I can hardly speak. I have to whisper anything I want to say. I find drinking plenty is helping, but then I'm on the loo all day.....I can't win :-(
Sorry to hear you're still under the weather Mandy and poor Colin too. It's no joke is it? Good idea to stay in the warmth if it's snowing. We don't have any snow here, just lots of clouds.
So another night up Frank, you must be getting fed up of it now. I hope it all goes well for your appointment on Wednesday and they find the stones so they can be sorted out, then you'll be out of pain. The mittens sound like a good idea, that'll keep Ros busy for a while.
A lost post Jane, I've only had that happen to me twice and each time was annoying. At least you said what you wanted to in the end. It'll be nice to get away to the cottage in June. Let's hope the weather is better by then. I feel like winter is never going to end at the moment.
Hopefully the fella will turn up about your back door this time Mel. Did he say why he had to cancel the first appointment? He left it a bit late to tell you, didn't he? It sounds like all the Robin's know where to go for a good feed lol.
Going to get another drink now, I'm sitting here coughing away and it's really hurting my throat. I've been eating some ice cream, which seems to help too.

Good morning Mel, Mandy and All.
I didn't bother posting in the night, but I was up as usual. Ros came and got me about 3.30 am. I managed to turn over at 7.30 and dozed until 9.00 am.
No sign of snow here. Just BLUE SKY's as far as the eye can see. If there was a frost, it was before I was up. !!!
We sat and watched D.O.I. then Endeavour . I just couldn't get into the story line, and find his voice difficult to follow. (going deaf) ???? I don't think so. !!!
Jane join the "lost posting" club. If I had a pound for everyone I have lost I would be rich !!! So you are booking a cottage. What is a AIRBNB Cottage ??? It sounds a nice part of the Country. I loved my visit to CHATSWORTH many years ago.
Like most of you, I enjoy nature programmes, and watch NAT,GEO. most afternoon. If I have seen the prog. I flick down to EDEN, and watch David Attenborough. You can always be sure of a good programme with him.
Certainly nothing planned here today. Ros will get on with her knitting. She is making MITTENS with lots of things attached to the backs for people with PARKINSON'S/ ALTZIMERS (sp) The idea is they have things on the mittens to fidget with and keep their hands occupied. Never heard of it myself, but evidently someone in Stitchery do has. Ros has been put in charge of the organising and distribution to the right people, to pass on the those affected. (KEEP HER OUT OF MISCHIEF) lol lol.
Off for my shower and shave. Then I will BUM around for the day. EXCITING LIFE I LEAD, DON'T I ????

Morning all,
Cold and frosty morning. Oh has had to deforst my car as it was solid ice this morning.
I have had 6 Robin's round the back door asking for mealworms and all of them puffing their chests out at each other. They are funny as there is plenty for all of them.

Yes I watch Hugh's wildlife program.
Dos'nt it make you cross when you lose a long post. I have done it myself.
My words seem to stop coming up and then they appear with the first letters on the end!! I can't go back to the page before without getting the Error page and have to wait ages and ages for it to coome up to where I want it and then go to this thread.
Anyone else having trouble?

I am so cross with myself as I have just lost a long post I was in the middle of doing.Half way through Chris said to book an airbnb cottage in Derbyshire that I had found for June.I forgot to save what I was writing. I can't now remember all I was saying other than Grilled Bacon and Cheese made my mouth water Gill Hope Cas's new coat fits I cant eat a roast with no gravy Anne. I need lashings of gravy. Good Frank you already have your new appointment for Wednesday . My Nana used to love a bit of Fruit Cake and a bit of Cheddar .
Sorry to put it all like this but I cant go through it all again fully.
I have a Beef Casserole with Dumplings on top in the oven now . Mashed Potatoes ,smooth as a babies bottom ( I put them through the potato ricer) Spring Greens and Sprouts . Thomas had his flea treatment earlier and after licking his fur , then having a mouse is now looking very sickly :-S :-S.. I hope we dont have an undigested mouse brought up on the carpet :-S

I watched the Wild West programme too , It's nice to see a nature programme without animals killing each other. I know it happens but some are too graphic for me. When I lived in Sussex I remember seeing the starlings over Dungeness doing just that .Along Pett Level there were Pink Flamingoes as well and the were alwaya a lot of bird watchers along there too

Anne so was I. That little boy had a lovely face and those eyes were to die for.
I have just helped oh bring down another load of bags of the old lagging from the loft. My lovely wheat shief I made and we used in the harvest festival was squashed and a bit mouse eaten to that went on the trailer and some bags of the old carpet that was on the floor up there. So he is getting there. He wants to replace the hot water tank too.
We've had a dry day with a lot of sunshine but its still very bitter out there.
I had six lovely eggs this morning which means they were all quite clean. If they lay later after they ahve been out the eggs get a bit muddy from thier feet.

Oh yes Anne, wasn't that adoption quite dreadful! Just imagine, that poor mother had absolutely no say whatsoever as to what happened to her little boy! Think if it had happened to one of us?! Beyond wicked. As you say what those women went though is almost beyond belief! I think all us ladies owe them! OH has just taken Cas for a quick run in the field then we're pulling out the unit that the sky box etc is on ready for this chap tomorrow. It hasn't been done for weeks so is bound to be filthy!! :-0 A 1943 black and white version of Jane Eyre Frank!! No wonder it has those accents!! :-D

Good afternoon all
Lovely and bright here today Richard took Ruby for a walk but didn't get far before the brakes came on.
We had roast chicken today but only for 3 of us Becky was at home as for once in a blue moon her mother was doing a roast dinner, Paul only wanted a sandwich as he's eating out later and it's one of those eat as much as you want places, so just Abbie, who only eats carrots and roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and meat, no gravy either, Richard and myself,
Hope those coughs soon ease up so everyone suffering can get a decent nights sleep, I am still coughing at night but not so much but I don't have to worry about anyone else. I find sucking a medicated pastille helps more than cough mixture.
Richard was out for a meal with friends last night so I also watched the Suffragette film it really brought it home the sacrifices these women made to get the vote. I was in tears when the little boy was given up by his father for adoption how wicked was that?

I have just put a 1943 Black and White Movie on for Ros to watch. JAYNE AYRE. The voices are so annoying. Did they really speak like that, back then ??? I can't sit and watch that.!!!
While I was in the shower. Ros did the veg for dinner, so all I had to do was make the pudding and Cheese sauce.
My friend from "BEN" had arranged to call and see me Wednesday morning, but that is when my new appointment for my ultra sound is. So I have rung him to put it off. He will arrange another day when he is this way. He was very good to me when I first had my stroke. I have mentioned him and "BEN" before on the thread.
The wind seems to be getting up a bit. They say we are in for a very cold snap this week. So be careful if you are out walking. Mind any ice. !!!
I see on the Woodford Bridge site (where I was born) that the pond by the church has been taken over by what looks like hundreds of geese. The locals seem to be feeding them, and more and more are flying in. As a child I don't ever remember seeing a duck on it. !!!!
I was informed by HMRC this week, that in December when I reach 80 years old I will receive an extra TWENTY FIVE PENCE A WEEK on my pension. BIG DEAL. what will that buy ???
Like gets so boring when you have nothing to do. that is just how I am feeling this afternoon. I have read the paper (depressing) Done what needs doing in the kitchen, don't want to start a new book, while the tele is on and don't want to watch the film. I might go and lay on the bed and listen to the radio. lol lol

Afternoon to you all,
Went back to bed around 4.30 this morning, woke for a wee at 7.50 and slept again until 10.45. On the bedside cupboard was a nice COLD COT. I had a sip, and decided against drinking it.
Ros was sitting watching something on the box when I came out. made myself another COT and read part of the paper. Got showered and dressed. Now I have the Veg. to get ready for dinner tonight. We have a beef joint that Ros bought yesterday, not that we are short in the Freezer. !!!
Ros has been up in the loft looking for her knitting needle box. She must have 50 or more pairs. Over the years she has made some beautiful things. I don't know what she is going to knit now, something to do with Stitchery Do I expect.
Very high clouds here, and a bit of a breeze, but I must say IT LOOKS COLD.
We do tend to eat a fair amount of Cheese. Ros loves a bit of Stilton and biscuits at supper time. I tend not to eat after my evening meal.
Glad you are improving Mandy. and those of you who have been poorly are now getting back to normal. I will be so glad when the weather improves, so I will WANT to go out for a walk. Simon walks around 6 miles every morning with the dogs, and loves being out in the cold. He also goes out with Sally on her training trips, getting ready for her all night walk in May.
Well must get on with my choirs, and get a coffee. See you all later.
