I bought one of those long plastic boxes to go under a sideboard in the lounge. I had all my wreath making stuff in two cardboard boxes which went under there. Now I have put it in the long box I can't get it all in there like I could in the two boxes so it may all be coming back out and back in the boxes it was in before. The long one will go under our bed or I may put stuff in it up in the loft. I have all my wool in one deep box from my shed.
I too found two more things I had bought for oh yesterday. One was a set of serclips with a key attached to do them up with and the other was a light you can plug into the pc. So thats three pressies he has had this week with the assortment of gins I found too.
I hope Matthew and Kelsey are ok. I can understand how Janice would be worried about them. It seems like nowhere is safe to go to abroad lately.
Its good Rob has kept off the grass with the wheelbarrow Jane. I should think he is going to use the wood for a fire if he has covered it up with a tarp. It won't last long before he has to keep topping it up if is is as rotten as it looks.
I love Call the Midwife too but I do wish they would'nt keep going forward in time as I liked it when it was a bit more old fashioned. So two things to see on a Sunday now, that and Vera.
Still that horrid fine rain blowing in the wind here.

I can't believe it. He has finished !!! Fencing put back into place for now and he has gone home for a bath and a Whisky LOL . I think Mandy like you just said the wood was so soft it made it much easier to clear.Even though he is a bit of an odd bod he worked his blooming socks off to get it all done . I will send a couple of pics.
I am sure that Matt and Kelsey will be sensible and stick to safe places ,but I know they do love to do a bit exploring. It is a bit of a worry though. Such a shame too when it their Honeymoon.
I have just blitzed up a load of Parsley,Mint,Coriander, garlic, white wine, olive oil and a little ground Cumin and have a Turkey Breast marinating in it all now for tomorrows dinner. It is all so green !!! . I did this once before and it was lovely.
Its so dark , but the rain seems to have eased off for now.It doesnt feel that cold but I am going to light the fire anyway . Thomas is off to the Cattery in the morning. He ain't going to be happy when I dont let him out !.He'll know something is up :-D
Alexa is playing me some nice Jazz music :-D

I'd love to see the photo of him moving the tree Jane. It sounds like he's getting stuck in with it, let's hope it's all finished today as he might be to stiff to do any tomorrow. Hopefully your fence will be sorted soon too. Yes, Eastenders was very sad last night. When Tanya held Abbie's hand then called for Max I thought for a second that Abbie had moved and it was going to be okay for her, but then when they switched the life support off and it flicked back to the pub, the two scenes together made me cry. I was wondering who was going to look after her baby too.
I'm using cardboard boxes Mandy as plastic tends to make things smell. When I sorted everything out from under our bed the material I had under there smelt musty so I spent hours washing it all, the last thing I want is for it all to smell again, so I think cardboard boxes would be better. Some of the boxes are going up in the loft once OH's back is better, so there won't be many left down here.
So it's not just me then Mandy, you have extra recording too. It's very strange isn't it? I'm the same as you I've never watched any of them either, they just seem to appear with a series link attached.
Just watching some programmes off the planner now as I'm running out of space, I am packing up the books that are laying on the floor at the same time.

Six pairs !!! Frank you could nearly wear one pair for each day of the week LOL
So your still sorting then Gill, is it those plastic boxes your using or just the cardboard boxes , i like those plastic storage boxes best ,you can see whats in them when they are stacked up. Yes we'll be watching Call the Midwife tomorrow we like that programme , we find programmes on our planner too that we haven't recorded and they are programmes that we've never watched before.
He's getting the tree cleared then Jane ,i don't suppose the wood is very heavy as it's so rotten ,if he's not use to to much hard work he will be stiff tomorrow !! I heard that on the news this morning about Jamaica ,i think it's that they don't want tourists going off the beaten track on their own ,they should be ok if they keep in the hotel grounds and only go on guided tours . Eastenders was so sad last night ,i wonder who will look after the baby .
It's now started to rain .

Afternoon All What a wet and horrible day. The rain seems to be getting heavier now :-S. I have to say the neighbour has done a pretty good job so far with his 1 wheelbarrow .There is still a lot to clear but I am not sure if he will do any more today in this weather. Saying that he probably will. Some man came to look at the fencing and will sent a quote to Rob. He didnt wheel the barrow on the lawn but used the path and patio so that was good. I was watching from the upstairs window .He is only a short man but my word he must be pretty strong as each load was piled high . He wheeled each load around to his house and has dumped it at the side of his house .I noticed just now when I came in from shopping that it is all covered with a big tarpaulin.
I did manage to get a pic of him :-D
Mel OH will be pleased with that leather jacket even though you wanted it :-D. Thomas has the grumps with this rain. He did go out a little while ago and within minutes was back with a Mouse. He ate that on the patio and is now drying himself off.Face like a wet weekend LOL .
Rob is back !!!!! Wheelbarrow too. Poor man looks exhausted . Oh he has a shovel too now. I can see he will need a good relaxing bath later and by tomorrow I should think he will hardly be able to move.
JJ sounds lovely and comfy on his fleece in the chair Frank. I bet you were pleased to have him back again. How long is he staying this time? Soggy Slippers! . Was it just the bottoms that got wet or the whole lot? I have worn slippers too when I have got in to clean the shower without thinking. I usually wear those rubber garden clogs. I must get rid of my old ones .I had new ones for Xmas but the old ones are still knocking around the bedroom. . It sounds like you are finding some surprises Gill Extra Slippers and Trainers. I wonder what else you might find that you forgot you bought .
I love Call the Midwife so am looking forward to the new series. Did anyone see Eastenders last night ? When the life support was turned off for Abbie? It was all very emotional . I got through a few tissues .
There are snowflakes coming down in the rain. Not Sleet but proper big flakes !!
I need to ring Janice as her son Matthew and wife Kelsey are on their belated Honeymoon in Jamaica and there is trouble going on and tourists being told to stay at their Hotel Resorts. I dont know where Matthew is staying. Janice will be having kittens !!!!

Forgot to mention earlier for those who watch it, "Call the Midwife" starts tomorrow at 8pm on BBC.1 I've popped it on my planner to watch on my own as OH and Sandra don't like that programme.
I've just noticed that two programmes I've never heard of on channels I didn't know I had have appeared on my planner for some reason, so I've had to delete them. This has happened before.....very strange. Shall have to keep an eye on the planner now as I only have 9% on there so don't want to run out of space recording things I don't want to watch. I wonder why that's happening???????

Its really miserable here today but much warmer.
I have just given oh a coffee and am now going to Em's and the shop.
Mandy the jacket is now in his wardrobe!! I don't think he will ever lose a stone!! He is over 20 stone now!!! i MUST ADMIT THAT SINCE THEY TOOK HIS STATIN DOWN TO 20MG HE HAS'NT HAD THE MUSCLE PAIN OR GONE OFF TO LIE DOWN IN THE AFTERNOON. Sorry but I am not typing all that again. he has been much more active but still very slow walking. He has bad hips too.

Afternoon all
Raining here, it hasn't stopped all day.
Yes Mel Sandra would of been in her element with all the snow your cousin has. Imagine how many snowmen she could of built ;-) ;-) It sounds like you had fun with your OH finding and losing things all day. Hope he manages the 4 boards today without losing anything else. Hope he gives you all your tools back before they go missing.
What are you like Frank, getting in the shower with your slippers on, good job you have some spare ones. I found a pair of slippers I'd bought for OH for Christmas yesterday, I must of forgotten I'd bought them as I went and bought another pair for him for Christmas so now he has two pairs, I also found another pair of trainers I'd bought him too. Good job I'm doing my sorting isn't it? I wonder what else I'll find LOL.
How is the tree removal going Jane? What a daft person trying to see it when it's dark, the silly man. Hope it doesn't take to long for him to move it, although it might end up damaging other parts of your garden if he's using a wheel barrow back and forth for ages. Let's hope that's not the case.
I've had to swap a box with Sandra this morning, she had a small one with her CD's in and the one I had to put my books in was slightly to big to fit in the wardrobe. Sandra has her things in a cupboard which is wider than my wardrobe which is why we've had a swap around. I have three small boxes now so hope that is enough for all my books. So I'll be popping those into boxes today and putting them in the wardrobe out of the way.
I noticed yesterday that I have a lot of family tree stuff in various places like my books were, so if I have time today I'll collect it all up together and pop it all in boxes to put in my corner wardrobe.
OH is going to have lots of things to put up in the loft once his back is better. I imagine that will be quite some time away though, which is why I'm trying to find boxes to fit into the wardrobes so they can be stored there for now out of sight.
Well, I'd better get on with it, I've still got my books all over the living room floor and they are in the way. See you all later.

Ros has gone to Tesco for the weekend Veg and odds and sods. I am about to let JJ out for a wee. Then I will get a brolly out and walk to the pub. It will be the furthest I have walked since before Christmas. Nowhere to stop for a rest, so will have to make it in one go. !!!

Morning all,
Cloudy here ,the first we had this morning has gone off the shed roof so the temperature must have come up a little.
So you,ve lost the leather jacket then Mel :-D perhaps you'll find another in the charity shop when your next in town. That was nice of OH to warm your clothes up for you. What a lot of snow your cousins had ,it must look lovely .
So you have your little friend for company again Frank ,they must be pleased he settles with you so well plus it saves them money not having to kennel him. Lewis sounds a lovely young man ,it would be nice to see a photo of him we haven't seen him all grown up with his designer stubble :-D
How's the tree moving going this morning Jane , he's got a lot of barrows to push to move all that ,plus he's going to churn all your lawn up with the weight of the barrow . I'm still smiling thinking of the small torch he brought round to see the tree.
How is OH's eye now Ann ? you only need a little some thing in it and a few rubs and the eye soon gets sore ,hope he's had no more problems with it.
Not a lot happening here ,Colin has lit the fire and has a few jobs to do ,I've just got the chicken ready to roast later and done all the veg ,so i think this afternoon we'll catch up with a few recorded programmes and I'll get the knitting needles out and do some more dolls clothes.

Well it had to happen again sometime. I had a shave and turned on the shower. Stripped off and got in. I still had my slippers on, I did it once before. What a senile old begger I am getting ;-) ;-)
Have changed two bulbs in the kitchen. I now need Ros to replace them when she goes shopping. It always happens that when one goes another follows.
How many Eggs are you getting these days Mel ?? I thought they slowed down during the winter.
The rain has stopped, and left everywhere very misty and wet. Not the nicest of days.
I have promised myself I will go to the pub at lunchtime to see the football. I haven't been in there since before Christmas. They will wonder what's happened to me.

Morning Frank and all,
Not very nice here this morning either Frank. Cloudy sky and damp looking.
Only the usuasal thing today to do, deliver the eggs and fetch the paper.
When I woke up this morning (late) oh had put all my clothes on a line on the bedroom radiator, ahhhhh was'nt that nice? He had the loft hatch open so he must have thought I would like that as the heat goes up the loft. Bless...... <3
Had another email from my cousin Hilary this morning. She had been snowed in for three days. She told me one day in the week they had 5 inches of snow and then later another 3 inches. Sandra would have been in her element!!

Good morning to you all,
Horrible day here, absolutely hammering down with rain. I got up 7.30 to let JJ out. He came back in soaked. I have toweled him off, and he's in the armchair on a fleece. Ros has just come out so he's having a mad five minutes.
Mel your OH hasn't covered his tools with the boards has he ?? I expect it could easily be done, working in a confined space.
Jane, Not only does he need his bumps felt. He needs certifying . What an idiot of a human being he is. !!!
No plans here today, what are you all doing. ??

Its not one large space up in the loft and I think he is only boarding the middle sso he can get to either end. There is loads of stuff up there and he has to keep moving it about to lag the next bit. He layed three boards today so he said he is going for a record tomorrow of four boards. Firs tthing this afternoon he lost his tape measure so I supplied him with mine. Second thing was he could'nt get in the workshop to find his fret saw, he has about three of them, so I gave him my little one. I went to corn the chickens and moved the sack barrow with the two bags of cement on round the corner a bit and got round to where I HAD put some of his tools away from another job he was doing in the summer. I HAD put them in an old washing up bowl as HE had left them in a cardboard box out in the rain with various other bits and bobs. I HAD put them in the workshop on the shelf where the roof dos'nt leak or you get condensation drips off the roof. There in the bowl I found one perfectly dry fret saw and a grinder. When I went up into the loft hole as I could hear him using my saw, He had found his tape, he had left it under a box he moved when he bropught me down my lovely spelter Eglantine figure. Needless to say when he came down I asked him for my tape and he had left it up the loft. My saw too. Now whether I shall ever see them again is another question?
Di called in this morningvery unexpectedly. I had said to her that I wanted some nice leather to make some pouches out of and she told me someone had left a leather coat at the big house and it was never claimed. She asked Susanna if she may have it and she said yes so she brought it round for me. After she had gone I had layed it on the kitchen floor to see which bits were the best leather when oh walked in and said don't cut it up. I asked why not? to which he put the bl**dy thing on and it nearly fitted him a treat he just has to lose a stone and he could get it done up!!!!!! So I think Ihave lost that............

Jane, What sort of bloke is he, to have a pencil torch to view a fallen tree. Some kind of nutter in my opinion. I would DEMARD the he get an experienced person in to remove the tree. I can just see him with little barrow loads of wood, trampling up and down your GARDEN removing it. NO WAY. !!! and how long would it take him. ??
Jan and Jo haven't turned up yet. She said they were leaving around 3.30. so it's raking them a lot longer than usual. I trust all is fine with them and the car.
Lewis is still (thank goodness) a very polite and well mannered lad. I would hope that my influence has had something to do with that over the years. I know also his Mum and Dad wouldn't stand any nonsense . So the loft is nearly complete then Mel. How long will it take to dill it with all your bits. lol
Well the meat tonight wasn't up to scratch. Both Ros and I thought it a bi tasteless . There is plenty over for JJ if he wants it. !!
I see WHITECHAPEL is on Sky 119 tonight at 9.00. So I will turn that on after Ros has finished with her SOAPS. !!!
See you in the morning. xx

Evening All,
Sorry to hear about your neighbour Frank, but you would think her daughter would have either sold or let her dad's house. I would worry about leaving it empty what with the pipes freezing up or vandalism. She's a very lucky woman to be inheriting 2 houses if that is what has happened. I bet Ros will enjoy turning the soil in the garden this spring with no unwelcome surprises from the cats. :-) We were looking at another shrub in our front garden yesterday that is mostly dark brown now with their marking it. The trouble is, if I dig it up, I know they will move on to another nearby shrub and ruin that. :-S
Lewis has certainly shot up in height then............must be all those dinners you have fed him in the past!! LOL. It sounds like he is sticking with designer stubble for now and not growing a hipster beard. I don't see so many round here now (more's the pity!) so I expect it was a short lived thing.
Mel, you have a really useful sized loft that your OH is boarding. He's not going to put walls up and make it into a 'Man Cave' is he? :-D I loved the 2 side lofts in my old place, but this modern one in this bungalow is a nightmare with beams criss crossing the space making it lots of small areas rather than a big space.
What happened with the man next door and the tree Jane? Was there an agreeable result? That would have been horrid for James running over the fox. I remember many years ago driving dad's little Austin A35 van and running over a ginger cat that shot out between 2 cars. The sensation on the steering wheel through your hands was sickening and I pulled up to see if I could see it. There was no sign of it and I lifted the bonnet up very gingerly expecting it to be mangled in the engine. It was nowhere to be seen, just tufts of ginger fur. I couldn't get it out of my mind for ages after.

Afternoon All Mel the loft will be so easy to get around once it is all finished. You might even venture up there yourself :-D :-D
Gill I need you here to help me with all the stuff I need to sort. I just cant get motivated . My wardrobes and drawers are bursting at the seams with things I no longer wear.
So little Lewis is now a very tall Lewis :-D. He must tower over you Frank. He still sounds a very lovely lad even though he might not keep in touch as often as he did. I bet those Bacon Sarnies went down a right treat :-D. How odd you have got tablets that you have not had before. Are they someone elses I wonder? If so that it so so bad.
We are a right dozy pair today. Neither of us seems to have an ounce of energy. Next door will be around in the morning to see the tree. I can see him cutting it up himself rather than paying or having his insurance. Maybe when he does see it he might realise it is a big task and then there is no way he will be able to get the rest of the tree down. I wouldnt be surprised if he turns up at stupid o clock in the morning . But I think it is supposed to be raining so who know what he will do.
James has taken Chris's car to work today as when he hit the Fox last night the Bumper has come loose .Fox stood no chance as James said he was doing 60. I can still see James's pale face when he came in. It must have been one heck of a shock. On the 7th Feb he ,his Boss and another chap are going to Italy for business FOR THE DAY !!!!! . Heaven knows what time he will have to leave here . I think it is crazy . But I know that many people just POP over to Europe for meetings just for the day. Then it is work again the next day!.
Ann that was a lovely gift OH had. Are you sure you can't 'borrow' it? :-D
We had a heck of a frost this morning. It looked like snow everywhere. When I went out in the car at 11.30 there were chunks of ice flying off the roof as I was driving along.
Frank I wonder why your neighbours daughter has kept her Dads house empty for so long.It does seem a bit odd. As you say hopefully she wont do the same with her Mums. Shame about the Cats having to go into a Rescue Centre (I know you will be pleased though that your garden will be cat poo free). I do feel for these animals whose elderly owners have passed away.I expect the cats are fairly old too. Lewis's little cat sounds gorgeous . My Horror is out and about ,no doubt looking for his supper.
Anne if you are looking in, I hope you are feeling a bit better today <3
