Morning Anng and all,

Beautiful mornin g here once again and there is still frost outside but the sun will soon burn it off.

Shopping day today so thats somethig to look forward to. I don't like the way Asda send you an email to say don't forget your delivery pass before you've even got your order. How are you going to know what you run out of even before you have had the shopping that week? I usually bung on milk bread and a couple of bottles of wine to get me up to the £40 and then in the week I put things on and take thing off.

I hope the weather like this tomorrow for your visit to Stratford park it will be pleasent to walk around in the sunshine rather than rain.

good morning all, looking like another nice sunny day but still only -1 degree. I hope it goes up to 12 as it did yesterday, it was so nice to sit for a while in the sun.

Not sure what I am doing today. I need to walk round to the chemiist for my prescription but don't want to overdo it today as I am out with the group of friends to Stratford park in Stroud tomorrow and walking round there it is quite hilly in places.

Mel, I think that programme is called Small Town, Big Story. I believe it starts on Wednesday and is on Sky.

I am shattered tonight. I’ve been working all day. My back aches now but I managed 45 minutes gardening so I feel quite pleased. Most of the washing was nearly dry when I brought it in at 3.30 pm. I’ve just got a couple of sheets and some pillowcases to do tomorrow. Tesco were late which is unusual for them. Apparently the freezer bit on the van had broken down. I had only ordered 1 frozen item which I didn’t specially need so I’ll be reimbursed for that. The poor driver left me at 4.30 and had 9 more deliveries to make by 6 pm.

No phone call from the plumber yet. It seems they don’t want the work. I can see OH is itching to get on and do it himself. So far he has said he won’t because he knows I am worried about it but if we really can’t get anyone to come in, he’ll probably insist on doing it. Oh well, I’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Think I’ll have a go at the crossword now. Hope you all have a good night.

I did yesterdays ironing of all the whites and pegged another load out this morning but not dried much so I have left it in the hope its better tomorrow. I did drive my car up the top to get the recycling bin back down here as it had'nt been out for three weeks and was full to the brim with the paper bag on top.

Fish are all moping in the corner of the pond and hav'nt eaten all the food I ut in yesterday so they have not been fed today. I only feed them when I see them swimming around. Mac cheese for tonights dinner so nice and quick.

I saw in one of the tv papers about a program filmed in Ireland and in this weeks paper it said it was filmed in the place one of the actors grew up but they did'nt say what the program was called and it was a 6 parter. I can't remember what statiopn it was on either. So annoying when they do that, if they had just put what channel it was on I could have looked it up. I am just hoping it was no good now.

Hi Vera, Good that the window man came on time pity the plumber is not so diligent.
It is 12 degrees here and hot out there, I just had to come in as it was so hot on my patio that I thought I didn't have sun cream on and the sun was actually burning. I put the bins out and, as that means the brown bin is out the front, I spent 20 minutes pulling up weeds out there.
Not done much else todayJust one load of washing. anyway had a read out there for half an hour so that was very pleasant. waterworks seem to be behaving now, it is often the same mostly OK during the day and not so good at night. Definitely not finding this getting old a lot of fun.
Hope you managed to get a bit of gardening done.

Just contacted Jake, he is going to come next week I have a list of small jobs and a couple of bigger ones for them to do

Morning all

It was morning when I started but I got distracted and I see it’s afternoon now.

It was horrible first thing; thick frost and very foggy but the sun came through and it’s a nice day now. I’ve even hung washing out for the first time in ages. I don’t think it will get very dry as there’s not much heat in the sun and no wind but it always smells fresher when it’s been outside.

I hope your waterworks have settled down now AnnG and you get a better night tonight.

Mel, stick with the boot even though it stops you getting on in the garden. You need to let your foot heal properly. You don’t want the sort of problems I’ve got because the bones have healed out of alignment.

The window man came dead on time and has taken one window away with him and put a pane of glass in place temporarily. He’ll give us a call when the new window is made and arrange to come and fit it. He reckoned about a week. We used him a few years ago and we went to him again because he was so reliable. It’s a shame some other tradespeople don’t take a leaf out of his book. We are now waiting for the original plumber to call us back but I am not holding my breath.

OH managed to mess up all the settings on the TV daughter gave us while he was “just having a little play” and we can’t get the programmes we want anymore so I shall have to ask daughter to come back and sort us out. Why do men have to fiddle with things that are working fine?

Tesco are coming 3-4 pm so I am hoping that between lunch and the delivery I can manage a few minutes in the garden. If I only tidy up one plant before my back tells me to stop it will be one less to do next time.

AnninGlos Report 3 Mar 2025 10:40

Not sure about the cauli and broccoli Mel as I have that quite often but stopped having cucumber when I had a similar problem the last time I had more than a couple of bits.
It is 6 degrees here now so the temp is creeping up. It is bitterly cold outside though.

Morning all,

Lovely sunshine now but a very sharp frost ,everywhere was really white .

Sorry to hear you had a bad night Anng hope your feeling better now ,its funny how certain how things can affect your tummy ,you'll have to give them a wide birth from now on .

Yes Mel it must be annoying when you can't get on in the garden but better to get your foot healed then doing something silly and setting yourself back .

Right going to see what its like out now and see if I can do a bit in the garden .

Morning all,

Same here again this morning 3 degrees and mostly sunny by the pc and there was another heavy frost last night which is stil out there in places the sun has'nt reached yet.

The deer have started eating the day lily leaves already as they ome out of the ground and showing their babes how to do it and get through the wire. The Snowdrops are nearly over and the daffs are comingh out.

Sorry you had a bad night Anng it was more likely the cauli and broccoli which made you get up so many times in the night than the cuecumber. Hope its settled down now.

I am so cross with this boot thing on my foot that I can't get into the garden properly and by the time I can leave it off it will be steady continuous rain.

AnninGlos Report 3 Mar 2025 08:04

Good morning all another lovely sunny morning with a frost. -1 but expected to go up to 10 degrees today.
I didn't sleep at all well last night, after gardening I thought I would but I woke roughly every hour and almost every time need the loo. I had a baby cucumber with my lunch yesterday, I have not had cucumber for ages as I don't like the ones you get in winter. I am almost sure that aggravated my bladder.

I assume the football over ran as Call the midwife is late. I was watching dancing on ice.

I really enjoyed my meal tonight. I had a duck leg with roast pots, roast carrot, purple sprouting btoccoli and cauliflower and I actually did it in the main oven.

Evening all,

Had a busy day doing all sorts ,we had a nice roast, its been sunny all day and tomorrow I want to get out and do a bit in the front garden.

You certainly should not feel guilty of sitting in the sun Vera when we have seen so little of it. I sat in my conservatory with a cuppa too, I was going to sit outside but I left it a bit too late and the sun was behind trees. Never mind I had quite a lot of sun while I was gardening.
Going to watch country file now.

I'm here now Ann, just briefly. It was a cold night with a heavy frost but it soon melted and it has been a lovely sunny day. OH got a bit done in the garden but somehow I got tied up with other things and didn't get out there. After our Sunday dinner I did sit in the conservatory with a cuppa and my book. I had the door open and it was very pleasant so I sat there reading when I should have been getting on with other jobs.

I've just sorted out a load of paperwork that had piled up on our desks - mostly OH's who doesn't know the meaning of the word Tidy. It's now all filed or shredded or put in the recycling bin. I've also finished off an order for Tesco who are coming tomorrow afternoon. The glazier is coming in the morning to take out a window and put in a temporary pane of glass while he makes us a new window to match the existing ones. At the moment there seem to be people coming and going all the time.

OH is busy looking at the back of his eyelids and I have one or two other jobs I want to get done today so I'll say an early good night, sleep well.

Best to try not to spend too much time in wellies Mel. I know you can't not look after the chickens but try not to be on your foot without the sandal for too long.
Hope everyone has had as nice a sunny day as I have had (and Mel has too).

Lucky daughter Anng. Its 8 here also . I have done a whites wash and its all out on the line. I have been saving it up so I can give a good wash with quite a lot in it.

I still sleep ok if I get up late. I did'nt mean to sleep that long this morning as I could see it was going to be a nice day again. My mistake was turning the heating on at 7.07am got cosy and dropped off again. I think it has done my foot good though. I have nice black toes now and some of the swelling has gone down from the instep but think its the tendons that are giving me gip now and then and they take a long while to heal.

AnninGlos Report 2 Mar 2025 12:39

Mel, that is a quarter of the day gone by the time you got up!! I try not to go back to sleep after 0630 as I then seem to not sleep so well the next night if it is late when I wake up.

A beautiful sunny day here it is 8 degrees at the moment. When I got up around 0700 it was -1 and there was a light frost. It is warm in my back garden and I have just spent half an hour out there cutting back the ever growing ivy. bin day tuesday for garden waste so I will do some more this afternoon.

Heard from daughter and it is 20 degrees in Lanzarote.
