Hope the children enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt Gwyn.

Mel if you keep getting that pain maybe you need to check with your doctor and say that since you came off that pill the pain is re-0ccurring.

The dump was really crowded, I assume there is some way of them checking that cars going in have appointments. By number plates maybe. We had a full car but friend wouldn't let me help unload because of my arm wounds/ After the dump we went to Dunelm and had jacket potaores with beans and cheese and a green salad, plus a drink. It was really nicely cooked. Friend only drinks water but I had a large latte so that plus two jackets came to just over £13 I think that is very reasonable. We bought a couple of things in Dunelm and then went to Lidl (another place I have not been to since I sent when up at Daughter's at Christmas. So lots to see and I did buy a couple of things. then we went for petrol and then home. We were out over three hours so it was a lovely break for me and a good chat and laugh.

It worked this morning so it now gone.

I keep getting code 82 and others come up on my screen in the car so from the shop I went to Stu's. He took a look at several thing under the bonnet and we checked the oil and he fiddled with something on the end of the indicater and he could read things on that. I have never touched any of that that I know of but I may have thrown it out by moving it unintentionaly. He said it may an oil change as when you go on short journeys, like i do, a little tiny drop of diesel goes into your oil and it may be that.

I got that pain again this morning so had a one slice of bread and marmalade thinking it would settle it. It has'nt.......................I do hope I am not going to have this trouble again like I did before the pills they took me off of. I shall have to keep my Rennie with me.

Such sad news, Vera.
I will be thinking of you and your family.

Sunny here at the moment and supposedly 10 degrees, but I haven't been out to see what it feels like.
Sorry to read that you had a painful night, AnnG.
I'm glad that has eased now.
Wow, the dump... I haven't been to ours for ages either.
You never know what you might see, when you are out though, so a car trip can sometimes be so interesting.
On Monday, coming home after my echo. I saw my first baby lambs of the season. They were very young and keeping close to their mothers to keep warm.

So many bluebells and tulips are fully out now.
Everything is so colourful.

Mandy, School here finishes tomorrow afternoon and they go back on 20th April.
Not sure how much reading we will get done, as I think there might be an Easter egg hunt in the large playing field, but it will be fun for them all.

Hope you get those parcels sorted, Mel.
Postage goes up next week, doesn't it?

Annx.. I hope the strange noises are gone today. It must have been rather unnerving :-0

Morning Anng and all,

About the same here as it is with you Anng, mostly cloudy and 9 degrees.

I am going to attempt to post this parcel again today so wish me luck.

The ra\vens are still knocking on the windows in the early morning and through the day. I don't have a doorbell or a knocker and people knock on the door so its really annoying. First there was one then two now there's three.

Good morning all and happy april 1st.

Just going through my facebook trying to work out what is real and what is an April Fool. Do you remember when the only 'fool' was "your shoe laces are undone" Now they are so believable and complicated.

8 degrees here and dull and dry.

I am going to accompany my friend to the dump this morning. she is the friend who so far lately has taken me to Wicks and B& Q all 'interesting'places. I think today may be the climax. At least I won't need to walk anywhere as passengers are not allowed out of the car.

I slept really badly last night for the first 3 hours just lay there not sleeping. But around four o'clock my leg decided it had been ignored and even though I took paracetomols it was really paindul the rest of the night. I had not had any pain in it since before the ops and have no idea why it played up last night. Seems ok now.

I did'nt have the lamb in the end I had a meal for one spaghetti carbinara (sp) it was nice and no side effects. Then I had a slice of cake and a clematine with a glass of water. I try to only drink boiled water but do have a filter jug too.

I think the Rennies really helped.

Annx Report 31 Mar 2026 20:10

Black coffee irritates the stomach Mel and can cause reflux. If you have the lamb, pour off any fat in the tin and make the gravy without. It's what I do now for OH. You could perhaps just slice off half of it for tonight and have the rest tomorrow?

Annx

Annx Report 31 Mar 2026 19:54

Evening All,

It's not been bad here weatherwise, a bit overcast at times but plenty of sun. We had coffee at Costa's first thing and called at the village Co-op for OH to get a refund on the herbal tea he got with Echinacea in it. Not ideal with effects on BP and bloodthinners and containing 10% so he will ask the doc next time he goes if it would be safe. I noticed no cars were in the carwash on the way back so took my car there once I got home to pick it up, and blow me by those few minutes three cars were queuing! I waited though and soon got done, but the water sprayers were really strong and I was hoping they wouldn't lift the paint off! I went to the shop then, but as I drove out of their car park I heard a few weak beeps from the car. They stopped and just as I thought 'phew' they started again, louder sometimes, but not steady, more like spurts of beeps, loud and soft. No warning message on the screen, temperature ok, so I proceeded home gently and as I slowed they were louder and went quieter as I speeded up, but still not steady. I turned left at the island near home and they stopped, then started again, turned into the slose and they stopped and didn't come on again at all. I suspect it may have been the fierce jets of water at the car wash and unusually being directed into the front grill and right under the wheel arches. Water may have got somewhere it shouldn't and caused a fault. I'm hoping if it is that it will have dried out by morning and be ok. If not, more expense!! :-S

Oh I'm so sorry to hear your sad, upsetting news about your dear friend Vera. Dear friends are not easy to find and it's a shame it was on your wedding anniversary too.

We had our first waste food collection today and they just lifted our small bag of waste food out of the caddy and threw it in the brand new white skip like vehicle. I don't know how they will be able to tell if people are putting things they shouldn't in in the bags. When OH went for his walk he noticed some people's waste food caddies were open and he noticed food had just been put inside without a bag, so they hadn't collected them. Talking of bins, we have that bittercress all over the garden Mel, but we haven't been allowed to put any weeds at all in our rubbish bin for years and is why we got a garden bin after we stopped taking the garden stuff to the tip in bags ourselves. I can get indigestion in the mornings if I start bending in the garden too soon after my BP tablet. Once I stand up again it soon starts to go off.

The itching does sound like healing AnnG and I'm glad you felt a bit more with it today. It's good you got a few jobs done without overdoing it. Yes, men and doing jobs sounds very familiar, especially with clearing up properly afterwards. They just don't seem to double check that they haven't missed anything.

Mandy, thank you for the heads up (as they say) about the two progs. I've gone and recorded them now. They are something to look forward to after this flipping football! OH mentioned to me that it was on again tonight but he's recorded the match as he's gone out to watch one tonight with his friend.

What bad luck it was that both your son and Jake had car trouble, but at least Jake's should be back on the road on Wednesday.

A friend emailed me today to say that our Sainsbury's garage near here was out of fuel and also that a Morrisons garage near her had closed because it was out of fuel.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Mar 2026 19:09

I got myself out a lamb shank for dinner tonight and am wondering now if I should have it with this indigestion. I have taken a couple of Rennies. Or is it because I had a couple of hot cross buns for lunch and I think they were the culprits.and a black coffee this afternoon. I thought that may shift it but its still niggleing.

I so fancied this lamb with nice mash and brocc and spinach.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 31 Mar 2026 17:18

It's been overcast all day with drizzle or light rain on and off. It's apparently 14 degrees now but I can't seem to get warm today. I had plans to clean through downstairs and do a bit of pottering in the garden but I haven't done any of it.

The friend that died, though not technically related, is very much a part of our wider family and has always come to all the family events. OH and I, together with our children and grandchildren, have always been closest to him so his death has hit us hardest. His sister, whom we know reasonably well, is his next of kin and will deal with funeral arrangements etc and all the contact with her family while I have agreed to contact all the members of our extended family. So today I have been emailing around and I have received some responses already. As some of them asked questions, that meant writing another email in reply. There have also been a couple of phone calls that took a while as they were from cousins I hadn't seen lately so they acted as a catch up chat. Now I am all emailed out! OMG, as I wrote that I suddenly remembered my cousins in Australia who knew our friend. One had worked in England for many years before going back to Oz on retirement and our friend had also visited the Aussie cousins a couple of times with my brother.

I have managed to read all your interesting posts. We all seem to have aches, pains, sore places, unwellness (is that a word?) and plain old tiredness. We don't want anymore so please look after yourselves and don't overdo it.

I have plenty of programmes recorded Mel I don’t need Iplayer.

I just walked round the garden and it is quite hot in the sun.

I have just had a parcel from Amazon it was a present from my sister a small box of Hotel Chocolat chocs.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Mar 2026 16:56

Anng why don't you use iplayer?? so you can watch other things while the football is on.

Iv'e been out in the garden trying to get my pond pump to work. When I take it all apart and turn it on the impella is whirring round but its not pumping I suppose that means more expensence as our Frank would say. I shall have to see if I can get my pond man down. All the bending over has given me my indigestion and pain in my throat which is what myrazole delt with now not taking them I have had it a few times. No where did I put the Rennie.

Ann there's the new series of the Welsh Chapel dream on next Tuesday channel 4 eight o'clock and Château DIY on each afternoon on channel 4 at five o'clock.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 31 Mar 2026 13:37

Now don't go doing to much bending in the garden Anng. I haave been out on the patio this morning tidying up the plants there. Lots of dead bits needed cutting off and get the leaves out from behind the pots. A couple need repotting or more fresh compost put in the bottom of the pots. I find with this compost it sink a lot in the pots. Its all made up of your garden waste that goes in your green bins and munched up Christmas trees. The only plants I know of that like needles are strawberries.

Iv'e pulled that awful Bittercress plant out of the road its flowering already with great long spindley stems so that went in the dustbin where it can shower its seeds across all the rubbish instead of my garden.

I have the back door open as its warmer out than in and its nice to hear the birds singing. Its 13 degrees and the suns shining.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 31 Mar 2026 13:02

Sunny here and 16 degrees no wind.
I just spent half an hour gently pottering around the garden. I tidied and fed lasy years Geums in pots, took out all the dead leaves and added some compost where necessary lus feed. Then I started to sort the large planter where the Charlotte potatoes will go when I think it is going to stay warm enough.

The trouble with employing men to do the garden is that, like all men, they only see what they want to see. Or they forget to look! Where they have cut back the holly, ivy and honeysuckle down by the shed they have removed cuttings that are obvious. however when I looked more closely there weere two troughs that have just soil, no plants in them. they were both fully covered in cuttings from above them. I filled a weed humper completely with the clippings. Typical men!!. They are very good to me but if I didn't need their brawn I would not employ their brains. :-DAnyway that was a couple of gentle jobs done so I came in as I didn't want to overdo it. I might go out again this afternoon to have another potter.

Good morning all 10 degrees and quite bright and a slept reasonably well so feel a bit more 'with it' today.

The wound without stitches is itching like mad, I hope that is a sign of healing.

I have plenty of bits and pieces to keep me occupied but now I had better go and take my food bin in (Just seen the food truck) and have breakfast.

Vera I am so sorry at the sad news about your dear friend. It is so true that friends are the family we choose. your anniversary will have sad as well as happy memories for you now. How many years married? Belated good wishes for your anniversary though, that is still worth celebrating.
