Mandy, When I got married the first time 3rs Oct 1959. We had an indian summer. We went to Jersey for our Honeymoon, and was on the beach every day for two weeks.. But it is so nice to see a spell like this, it will help shorten the winter.

Hi Everyone. Have not used the computer for a couple of days as my neck and back have been so stiff and sore. Changed my pillow last night and it seems to have helped a little as I can almost turn my neck to the side now. Have been painting scenery this morning but came home early as I do not want things to get worse. Hubby is still there and I do not expect to see him before 6pm.
Jane I hope the smoke has cleared from your lane now and it looked horrendous. Frank Hope Ros is feeling better and you get to eat your beef!!
Fiona Whats a size 6?? Don't think I ever went there. Be back anon :-D :-D :-D

Just sat out and had a cuppa and in a short sleeved top !!!
Who would have thought we would be doing that at this time of the year , now clouding over and turning cooler as the sun is going down.
Hubby's still beavering away on the staircase, landing and hall, second coat now going on the walls ...looking good , but i hate the emulsion smell :-S

Still sitting waiting to see if Ros will surface. popped my head round the door and she is out like a light.
I won't bother to cook for myself, if she dosen't want to eat, I will find something in the freezer. plenty to choose from.
Boring sitting around on your own,but I have my book so can have a read
.Hope you are all getting on with your gardening jobs, while the weather holds.

Afternoon one and all,
Ros is not well today, she got up 8.45 had a slice of toast for breakfast, was sick within the our, and sat on the sofa till NOON. She has gone back to bed, felling low, I will leave her there for the day if that's what she wants.
Have prepared, Rib of beef, on a bed of root veg, ready to roast. Veg all done, pudding and cheese sauce made, as is the gravy. No point in starting anything, if she dosen't want to eat when she wakes up.
My young neighbour has got his ladder out, and cut down a load more branches from the BIG tree. The branches all piled up on the front, ready for me to cut up, and transport to the tip. When I saw the ladder I went round to see him, and said you don't have to do this, he said I wouldn't feel right if you did it and fell of the ladder. What a great lad, A bottle of something will show him a THANK YOU tomorrow. I know he won't be pleased with a gift. but he will have to lump it.
Listening to the radio for a change, Five live. Football.
Nice day here, even though it's turning cloudy, and getting colder. Frost promised for tonight. WINTER DRAWS on girls. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Lovely day here today, bright sunshine and quite warm! Cleaned the gutters this am as they were completely blocked, and rain is forecast! Apart from that, not done too much, apart from sweep the kitchen floor and make the bed! SIL e-mailed to say that they would be coming by next Monday to see where we are now living and to say 'Hello'. We haven't seen them for ages so it'll be nice to have them here.

Morning everyone,
Lovely sunny day here ,not a cloud in the sky , but we had a sharp frost this morning ,the shed roof was white !!
The family have been here for coffee, in fact they were here before i was even dressed !! i was hoping to get a shower in before they got here ,so i had to quickly get dressed .
You did well with your shopping Fiona, its always nice having some thing new to wear , hope Sofia is feeling better today .
Thanks Pat for the cottons ,i'll look out for them in the post .
All this time and Noddy is still going strong , when you look at the plates, cups and cutlery you can buy for little ones Noddy is still there , Katie has a Noddy fork and spoon set here to use.
Oh, when Jake came this morning he told me the tooth fairy had been in the night !! he has lost one of his bottom teeth. Cost hubby a bit of money as he gave Jake some money for his tooth ,then he thought he'd better treat them all the same , so they all had some money !!
Off to make some scones now . BBL

Morning All,
Not so nice today but still dry at least. Pale grey skies today.
I did'nt realize that Enid Blyton pubilished the first Noddy book in 1949 the year I was born. I had most of the Noddy books. Dad would read them to me. They were all different colours.

Well it sounds like you had a really good time shopping for your new clothes Fiona. You won't be able to put on much weight once the op is over or you won't be able to wear them.
What poor little ones with those nasty coughs etc. You feel so helpless when you can do nothing but give comfort. I remember when my son was small and we went to Devon for our holiday with mum and dad. He got a bug the second day and he was so ill. Dilerious and sweating all night and I was so tired. Mum had him in their room one night so I could have some sleep but I never did I just had to be there with him. He was only about 2 or 2 and a half. It all stated withj him being sick and we had to take him to the local clinic in Chagford where they gave me some medicine and he had to drink water with salt in it he was so dehydrated.
Off to watch Merlin now on the replay box so will say night night. OH has already gone to bed. He has been fighting all day with the last tree stump, it's huge!!

Hi Frank I did have a good shop, OH is happy when I have had a good shop . then I'm not moaning at him how skinny and boney(sp) I look
I never go out at first planning to buy everything I bring home. as I keep saying to myself don't buy to many size 6 clothes Fiona , but OH says you have to wear clothes that fit you, it will be a long time before I get back up to a size 10
I have lost a lot of weight Frank this time last year I was a size 10, then gradually the weight dropped off with all the worry about my dad, then after dad's passing last Christmas I went down to a size 8 I then put on a few lbs during spring time, and since June and this gallblader problem and I now am on a low fat diet ( it has been over 4 months) the weight has dropped down to 6 stone 9 1/2 lbs, As you know I am not even 5' so no one else seems worried about my weight but me
OH and daughter no 2 boyfriend been in the garden laying flagstones straight this afternoon, both are very tired, family went home a couple of hours ago and OH has had a shower and gone to bed, they had a bottle of wine with their dinner so OH will be snoreing all night so I think I will be sleeping in the back bedroom,
Well I'm going to take myself off to bed with my book Catch up tomorrow night night xxxxxxxxxxxx

Evening all,
My favourite is on T.V. so had a shower and put dressing gown on.
Football, was like watching paint dry :-\ :-\ :-\ But had a couple of pints, so not to bad.
Ros's friend rang me to ask how to cook a rib of beef, she dosen't do a lot of "proper" cooking, but have people comming to dinner tomorrow. I bet in the morning it will be "how to roast potato's" :-D :-D and she is 52/53. It makes you wonder.??
I didn't know croup was an annual thing either, What is the cause of it ??? I always remember mum saying "you have a good bark there son" perhaps that was croup.
Fiona, you sound as though you had a good old sort around the shops, I didn't realise you were so TINY.
Going for a nose round Ebay. see you tomorrow.
Good night all.

Fiona ,Him indoors say's it;s caused by a virus .A bit like Chickenpox . Pat ,I have lots and lots of things I know for sure I will never wear again .....but for some reason I hang on to them. How daft is that. There is no way they would go anywhere near me again :-S :-S.It is just that wishful thinking thing :-( :-( :-| :-| :-P :-P Well I have 2 fed, and both getting ready to go out for the evening. So it is just me and Chris who need to be fed and watered.I'm not keen on Vodka Pat ,but a G&T would go down fine ,especially in the lovely sunshine today. ;-) Just got all my washing in and it doesn't stink of smoke :-D :-D :-D.The pity is I bet someone else's washing will.

Evening All,
Another lovely sunny day......how lucky we are to have weather like this in October! While out I bumped into my old school friend that has the ponies and sheep, but she was on 'double yellows' so couldn't stop. She said she still has her paintings she did when we were at junior school so is going to dig them out so we can have a reminisce!!
I got a nice craft box with moveable dividers today so I can get myself organised properly.
I had to look up the difference between croup and whooping cough. The first is viral and the second caused by bacteria. I remember my sister having Whooping cough when she was about 2 and feeling sorry for her.
Jane the findmypast site has an address search facility. Fancy your neighbour having a bonfire.....you'd think they would be sick of all the smoke by now too! I think you will just be clear of smoke by bonfire night!!
Fiona, there is nothing like a bit of successful shopping to buck you up.......sounds like you did well!!
