God Jane, don't even suggest our ex NFH, the thought of them gives me goose pimples!!! Have just bought Merlin in, and are just about to have supper. Poor Chris, I can understand how he feels about Jury Service. I've never done it, but Ian did many moons ago and held up the whole proceedure by finding the person 'Not Guilty' when all the other members found him Guilty!!!! In those days it had to be a 100% verdict, so you can imagine what a furure that caused! Can't remember what happened, something must have though else they'd all still be there!!!!!

Jane Report 9 Oct 2011 15:15

Heck Liz ,I thought you were going to say it was the NFH !!!!!!!.What a lovely surprise. You sound just Ticketyboo :-D :-D
As for cancelling the Conker Championships what a shame.I'm sure it would have been ok.I reckon it is something to do with insurance :-S
You can't far* these days without H&S getting involved.(sorry if that is a bit crude)but it just seems to get a bit silly.
Chris has done the dry run this morning to find out how to get to court and where to park in the morning. He seems to be working himself up into a bit of a stew about it :-| :-|He has already said he will not put himself forward as 'foreman' or whatever the name is for the one to stand and say Guilty or not Guilty.I have told him if he has anyone one the Jury who looks as though they don't give a damn ,to say something and get their brains into gear,as it is down to them as to the accused's future and they have to get it right.
That is me on my soap box lol.

On the way back from Sainsbury's we were followed all the way home, and guess who it was? Laura, Neil and the children! We were SO pleased to see them. really made up for all the commotion. They stayed for about 1 hour, helped unpack the shopping, ate most of the biscuits and popped on as Alice has Trampoline at 3.30pm! Am now going to start dinner, feeling very cheerful! Hope everyone is having a good day. Oh dear, I know you have to be careful, but cancelling a Conker Championship does seem to be a pity. What difference can the wind make?!! I wonder people are allowed to cross the road in a high wind for fear of traffic being blown into them!!

Jane

Jane Report 9 Oct 2011 14:05

Frank, haven't seen the Red Kites about here for a little while or Buzzards.I don't know why.I miss seeing them.So what are you boys cooking for dinner then?
We have Roast Chicken Crown, roast parsnips and carrots from the garden with some sprinkly stuff on them .I think it is supposed to make them crispy(we wait ans see).My lovely crispy Roast Potatoes and runner beans.I've also done a small gammon with honey. So tomorrow someone could be having cold chicken and cold gammon lol. There should be plenty over.

I am not meant to buy a Duvet.Out of stock yesterday at Arg** and sold out as Asd* today. :-S :-S.I will have to try somewhere else in the week.
I remember the first time ever seeing a Duvet. It was when I went on a school ski-ing trip to Austria.Thought they were just the best thing ever. That was back in 1967/8.It was a long time after that that Mum changed from blankets and eiderdowns to Duvets.

Morning Lads and Lasses,

Damp and overcast here in Rutland.

The three girls and Ella (birthday girl) are off to P'borough, for some shopping. Conrad and I will be left to get dinner, for when they arrive home.

Mel, you are so lucky, to see a Deer in the garden. The only time we see them is if we go to Woburn Abbey. We were lucky yesterday to see the "RED KITES" around the Corby area.

On our way along the road to Conrads, just round the corner fro m the pub, there is a wallnut tree, we stopped there and I managed to find a dozen or so. Wet Wallnuts, so Ros will have a treat tonight when we get home.

Liz, I don't know what to say about your predicament, you are between the devil and the deep blue sea.

I trust you are all well, I am thinking of you all, in this horrible weather. Stay warm and dry

Jane Report 9 Oct 2011 11:06

Morning you lot of early birds. We have all had a sleep in this morning.

I thought of a saying my Dad used to say quite often (I think this is right)

Early to bed and early to rise
Makes you healthy,wealthy, and wise.

How lovely to see that Deer this morning Mel.They are beautiful animals.

Well they have cancelled the World Conker Championships near here.Due to Health and Safety because of the high wind forecast.I see no wind.It is just a dull cloudy morning. What a shame. There will be people travelling from different parts of the world for this and they probably don't realise it is off.I think it said it has been going for 46 years.

Liz ,it would be great if you got some of that money back .But I think if it was me I would just let it lie as the thought of dealing with those people again would just about finish me off.(would they get to know where you are living if you did go for it?)
I think I will go and prepare the potatoes and veg .I don't know what time we will be eating today.

Morning All,

Same here weatherwise , a bit windy and a bit wet.... not much difference there then?

Oh off ringing for church and I sat here eating toast and marmite and drinking tea.

He woke me this morning with "look out the window slowly Melly" He had woken me up and I could'nt see a thing for the minuet. I had to actually rise and look past the chicken house a bit and there on the edge of the trees was a lovely deer. Not a youngster as she had second year antlers. First view was a beige heart shape on her botty but then she turned round. She was really lovely and I have'nt seen one for a while now.

Up early again this am, weather not too special, but spirits are high! A friend has suggested that we try to get a 'Judicial Review' to look into our ex-NFH's behavious towards us. Have to see, would be nice to get some if not all our money back, but I'm not holding my breath! Sainsbury's this am, then Homebase for a few odds and ends, then home for more unpacking and sorting!!. Yes Ann, Millie is now settling well and enjoying a variety of different walks, and as for Merlin, I think he thinks he's died and gone to heaven, he's gone from one small turnout to a 3/4acre paddock!!! B.F.N!

Morning , very wet here and dull, i thought the day was suppose to be dry !!

Ann, hubby has the walls to emulsion and the glossing to do, then i have to decide what carpet to have ,the chap came and measured up to see how much we need, so as soon as i have picked one out he'll come and lay it for us.

I think we're off to B& * later we want to have a look for a shelf to go under the mirror in the hall, thought i would put some of my little cottages on it or my Fairies, it will keep them out of the way of little hands !!

Hubby noticed his nail was off his toe this morning , we than had to hunt for it , looked in the bed first ,not there ,it was in his slipper !!!

Bells are ringing , time for a coffee
BBL

Thanks Ann.I will have a go in the morning :-D(with James at my side ) I hope lol
I've just looked at the time and it is not even 9.It feels so much later and I feel ready for bed.I must make myself stay up for a bit longer though otherwise I will wake at about 11.30 and think I have been asleep for hours !.Then it will be every hour or so :-S
Chris is off on a recce in the morning to make sure he knows where he has to be on Monday morning for Jury Service.I can see him getting grumpier by the hour at the thought of the next fortnight sat in Crown Court lol.I said I might shock him one day by sitting in the public gallery ;-) ;-) ........I don't think he would be too happy with that lolol
Saying that, when I worked with Victim Support he had to go to court as an expert witness for one of my 'victims' and I was there to support my victim. It was a very strange feeling to see Chris in the witness box being questioned.
I wanted to go and hold his hand lolol

I think I will say Night Night now.I will give myself 30 mins before going to bed and then hopefully read some more of my book before drifting off to the land of nod.xx

Ann lovely necklace. What a clever girl you are. My favorite is still the earings. Such a pretty shade and would go with lots of my clothes!!

Have'nt really sone much today. I went up the tunnel and picked some lettuce leaves for lunch and brought down a load of courgettes picked the beans and forgot them. Left them on one of the beds!!

Had a kitchen cupboard out this afternoon and was about to wash it out when I got awfully thirsty so here I sit among the ruybbish of sauspans and colanders and plastic boxes drinking a nice cuppa.

Jane

Jane Report 8 Oct 2011 17:04

Ann ,I think you should start taking orders lol. That's another lovely necklace
I think you are enjoying these classes :-D

Have just finished the ironing whilst watching a WDYTYA.Kate Humble.I missed the one before with Chris Moyles which was a pity as I hadn't seen that one before.

I'm just looking out the window, and can see Chris has just started a bonfire.I doubt anyone has washing hanging out this afternoon. You should see the smoke !!!!!!!!!!

Earlier I went around to the side of the house to the bin and was surprised to see all the bits of rubbish that the Sk* Man had just left lying on the ground.I think that is pretty bad :-S.He also left me with the old Sk* Box.I suppose that means that will have to be taken to the tip.

Now WDYTYA is on Kevin Whately (sp) 'Lewis'.I haven't seen that one either so will go and watch it now.

I put a pillow in the washing machine last year and it came out as lumpy as can be and don't they go flat quickly these days. OH asked if I was taking it to the dog's home and I told him they would be more comfy with no pillow than trying to lie between the lumps and bumps!! I use protectors to keep them clean, but I had just read that you should wash them every 6 months because of the dust mites!! Next time I'll put them in the freezer overnight instead. Your duvet cover was a bargain Jane.

Mandy, your hubby is keeping the hall decorating going then........is it just the walls to do after the ceilings?

Well I never found any cord while I was out , so will get some next week from the new shop I found.

I felt so weary when I got home I put my nightie and dressing gown on!! OH is at footie and I'm only going to potter around the house. I've left a fleece and my jeans on the bed ready to jump into if the door bell goes!! lol

Yuk Yuk,miserable afternoon here.Dark and drizzly now.
Mandy I have given up trying to wash pillows. They are never the same.I just keep protectors on them to make them last longer.
Well I haven't bought a duvet. The one I wanted was out of stock so will try again next week.I did get a double cover .It was missing the 2 pillowcases so I only paid £10.I have some pillowcases that will go perfectly.

I haven't seen a pic of your necklace from yesterday Ann!Is that the one Mandy is talking of?

I hope Frank enjoys the visit to Rutland and the party and that the weather is a bit nicer tomorrow.
I think I will just get changed into my comfy sloppy things and finish the rest of yesterdays ironing
:-S

Afternoon everyone,

Heavy drizzle here now after a nice sunny morning , just had to get my washing in and got soaked doing it .

Fiona, it's good that your OH found out that it was only a leak on a joint and not the pipe , that's saved you a bit of money .
Hope you get your dates sorted out soon ,get it all over then before Christmas.

Enjoy your weekend with the family Frank,

Jane, my duvets back on the bed , was really chilly last night ,pillows that's what i need to buy ,i washed one yesterday and it's gone all lumpy !!! had a heck of a job to get it back into shape , for twopence i'd have slung it out ,but its one of the newer ones so i thought i'd better try and do some thing with it .

You should see Ann's necklace its really nice .

Cuppa time .....got to keep the workman happy ....hubby's painting the ceilings today .

Annx Report 8 Oct 2011 13:04

Hi Everyone,

Well here it is what I call 'drismal' at the moment.......fine drizzly rain that soaks you in moments and is not nice! I wanted to get clothes washed today as well before the workmen arrive after the weekend.......no chance of putting the rotary up when they bring their materials and equipment.

It was lucky your pipe wasn't cracked Fiona, made the job easier. It will be much better when you have some dates as you say so you can sort things out the best way in the busy time up to christmas.

We made a tiger tail necklace in class yesterday and I need to pop out soon and get some cord for next week's project. Then if the weather is the same I should stay in and get the hoover out........boring!

Hope you have a nice time with the family in Rutland Frank.
