Well I have been and come back .I didn't chose the best time as schools were coming out ,plus a burst water main at the top of the Rd and temporary traffic lights. Then on the way home traffic was backing up as there was a little white cat in the middle of the rd.It looked a bit confused bless it.But eventually someone shooed it onto the pavement. It showed 27 degrees on the car thermometer Is tomorrow supposed to be even hotter?
I have a pot of stock on the go with chicken carcass ,onion, carrot, celery.I have never done that before. How long to I keep it simmering?I does smell nice. I had a look at remaining carrots in the garden just to stick in the pan ,and pulled up a whopper lol.The ones that are left are well past their sell by date :-S

No Jane, Searched the house out, Amongst the photo's were my school football team, my RAF football team. Photo's of me and my sister also the five of us on a bank, dressed in sunday best. when we were evacuated. It's so upsetting loosing what little bit I have got of my past. Booo Hooo They were all original, so no one will have copies.
Feel really bad this afternoon, I feel like going to bed and locking myself away. Very depressed and a feeling that I am going to blow. I must keep the lid on it, and perhaps go for a walk after dinner. to get me away from myself.
have done a load on the family tree, on my Mothers side. also found a bit more about my Dad's side. I don't know where all these people come from. Now back to 1700s It looks like there are Welsh in the Family somewhere.

Have been sitting out in the garden reading. It got so hot, the sweat was running down my body. Come in to get a shower and cool down
. Outside on the side of the consevatory, thats not in the sun, it is just over 30 degrees. OMG aren't we going to notice the difference when it goes back to normal.

Morning and another beautiful wall to wall sunshiney day.
OH has told me not to stay indoors today as it is too nice.
We have the tree man coming this afternoon too.
OH has mowed the grass in front of my border so I think I shall be working on that.
Frank I shall have a look and see if I can find that tree again and if I can get anymore info on the people you have sent me I shall let you know. I doubt it will be today but if I get hot up there you never know........
Pat thanks for the pic of the birds. I have replied.
Hope all aches and pains are not too bad on this lovely day.
Love to all of you.

Morning all,
Been racking my brains, where these photo's could be. When I went through my divorice, I didn't get many bits of my own. including photo's of 17 years of marriage and childrens photo's. I will be devastated if I have thrown the away. I keep searching in this place then that place. But no luck.
My legs have never been thick. But they could run like the wind as a youngster. Played left wing in football, and no one could catch me. ;-) ;-) ;-)
What a cracker of a day again, all doors and windows open. As I said last night. NO LUMBER JACKING again today. Can't find anywhere that dosen't ache. Will get the lounger out and have a read, in the sunshine.
Trust you are all well, enjoy the weather.

Another lovely day and a hot one again.More meals outdoors. Lovely Jubbly.

Ooooh the smell of my Dads tobacco tin!!!.Gallaghers Honey Dew (flaked) I am sat here sniffing lol Even though the smell is in my memory ,I can smell it .What a wonderful smell.I used to love sniffing his tobacco.I think my sister has an old tin of Dads .I loved watching him take a pinch and stuff it in his pipe, then stamp it in with his index finger.Oh you have my memory going now :-D :-D.He always had a box of Swan Vesta in his pocket. Once the matches caught light in his trouser pocket as he used to put the dead one in the end of the box.I can still see him now hopping around the back garden slapping his leg to put (the fire) out lol On that wonderful memory I am off to bed. Night Night xx
PS Ann I am not a fan of Richard Madeley either ,but it was a good one tonight.
Frank that is a cracking pair of legs you had there ;-)

I still have an Old Holborne tabacco tin that was Dads. He used to hand roll them as well as smoking Woodbines. You can still smell the tobacco in the tin despite it having been empty 25 years.
I also have his old safety reazor Gillette. He used to use the double sided blades, they lasted him a week or more. Then he'd turn the blade over and use the other side.
They didn't waste a penny in those days.

Oh dear, I hope you find the photos Frank and that you didn't throw them out by mistake.
Changed my pic too .........Mandy I am still wearing a home knit as well.....I seem to remember it was a pale blue jumper with cable pattern down the front.......pigtails by this time age 7. I may have only had 1 pigtail forwards because I'd lost the ribbon on the other!! lol Is that an Alice band you are wearing on yours?
Our plants were gasping too Jane. The front really needed watering too, but OH may do that in the morning!! He is clerking tonight or he would have done it tonight.
Off to bed now I think. I have taped WDYTYA, but am not keen on Richard Madeley.
Night, night all xx

Evening all,
Glad you all enjoyed the "Heat Wave" tomorrow will be hotter, and into the weekend. Won't be doing much on the trees as my mind tells me "NO" also my BODY.
Glad you liked the Emails today, I thought the dog one was fantastic. Just shows how they love sticks to be thrown.
I was three years old in the photo in 1941. You can see my Mums eyes peeping over the back door window by the net curtain. I am quite concerned, I had a sort out last week, of al.l old papers by my computer. Amongt them were about a dozen old photo's from when we were evacuated, through to my RAF days. Can't find them anywhere. I could have thrown them out with the paper last week. The binmen cleared that away Monday morning.
David I know what you mean. I still miss my dad and that was 53 years ago. Mel, found out today that my Gt Gt grandfather was a tobacco pipe maker. Must have been in the days of Clay pipes.
Going to catch the second half on the Chelsea match. By the time I get back, most of you will be up the wooden hill. Good night.

No I'm not keen on toads either Mandy.......not since one reared up on it's legs and hissed at me!!!! lol I think it is supposed to be hotter tomorrow and Friday. OH is at the dentist for a check up in the morning, then we are fetching some chippings for FIL.....get it done early before the HEAT!!
OH keeps asking if I am going on any of the courses I tried. He said if I did the jewellery one I could make him something!! I told him I'd do him a choke chain.....that shut him up quick!!! :-D
I loved the dog email Frank.....brilliant.
The building of the houses on the field near us is up in the air again!! The builder appealed and the appeal was being heard today. I have a feeling it will go ahead, especially with the proposed new planning laws the National Trust are opposing.
Better go and do some watering now.

Evening All,
Another bonus sunny and warm day. Planted my front wall pots with Violas and variegated ivy and hung them back up. One Viola wasn't in flower when I bought them.........typical, now it is open it is purple and white and all the rest are purple and yellow!! The neighbours will think I'm colour blind. I had trailing busy lizzies with the white crosses on the flowers in them in the summer........all deep pink except for the one that turned out to be red!! lol I think it is Violas that have a nice scent Mandy. The ones on the wall are nose level which is how I knew. I was thinking it was Pansies before.
Well, my word Frank!! Could it be? Surely that sweet- butter-wouldn't-melt-in-his-mouth little boy can't be you can it?? :-0 :-0
Fiona is it a repeat of the previous test tomorrow? At least you know what to expect if it is and it will soon be done. Hope they don't need to do more tests and can get on with any treatment. As you say, it would be nice to be able to enjoy your cChristmas dinner.
I got an email from the chap at the magazine today........he is sending me a copy of the edition they publish my photo in FOC! :-D :-D
Shirl I didn't get your e-mail. :-(
I wonder how Liz got on with her move today. She was staying at a friend's last night......I must say I don't blame her.
