Good luck tomorrow Fiona.
Tree report.
Nothing right down yet as OH could'nt find our Looooonnnngggg Ladder. We must have lent it to someone and not got it back!
He has taken off a lot of big branches and two trunks from the first one. The bonfire gets bigger!! He has built it over the tree trunks he took out by the garage. The last trunk on this first tree is leaning the other way to the first two and pointing a bit towards the new chicken run and the bungalow. He thinks he may have to get someone in to take it down. He is not getting any younger!! He stil thinks he can do things he could in his youth.
As I lay in bed this morning I took a couple of pics out the two windows in the bedroom. We had blazing sunshine and I did'nt have my glasses on so I don't know yet if they have come out.
I think OH is still looking to see if he can find the ladder!!!
Ann sorry to hear about your headache yesterday but as you say you can go another day when you feel 100%.
Poor Chris, it seems like yesterday was a washout for nearly all of us.
David oh used to watch Star Trek.

Morning Kim and all,
Having trouble getting to the last pages this morning so haveing to post to get there.
A beautiful sunny morning here and I have to do ironing as OH out tonight and I have'nt done his shirts.
Worked on the order a bit yesterday but it was so hot up there. Put a couple of penstemons in and did some weeding. The whole border needs weeding badly. Cut back a lot of dead heads on the bunny rabbits. They always give a good show.

Yes it was a shame Jane, but we can go another time. I see poor Chris didn't have a great day either!! Some days things seem destined to go wrong don't they. I always watched the Avengers and remember having a bit of a 'thing' for John Steed when I was a teenager!! lol
I just looked up what Ros has Frank and you are right about an awful lot of us having it to some degree or other. No wonder she gets so much pain, poor thing.
I wonder if Mel's trees came down ok. In the 60s we had a local pub that had a tree in the middle of the lounge. It looked really pretty at christmas, all lit up.
Think I'm off to bed now for an early night..............tomorrow is supposed to be hotter I think.........hope all goes well for Liz tomorrow.
Night night everyone......xxxxx

Oh Ann!!!!! .I'm so sorry you weren't up to your trip. What a shame. But it wouldn't have been enjoyable if you weren't feeling up to it.I think you are right about being dehydrated. I remember the cut outs ,and I think my favourite was the Tiger too.I just remember squabbles with me and Janice over whose turn it was to get the next cut out lol,and words "It's not fair" :-S
David I loved Mission Impossible, not so struck on Star Trek. One of my favourite programmes was the Avengers.

Yes Liz, if you are around. GOOD LUCK for tomorrow.
Maureen, "WET WALLNUTS" is the stage when they first come off the tree. Just crack the shell, peel of the skin round the nut, and eat it. They taste so different to the ones you buy at Christmas.
Poor you Annx, Having to miss your trip. Glad you are feeling a little better this evening. Trust it continues.
All you "SHORT ARS##" You will have to be careful in the bath. It's times when you ache, that I do at present, that I envy you and your baths. :-D :-D :-D

Hi Everyone,
Yes, a beautiful day but we didn't go on the trip. At 6.00am I had a bad headache even though the original problem had eased. I drank 2 glasses of water in the night as I thought it must be dehydration, but it made no difference. Felt a bit wobbly and hot too so we agreed we'd go another time. I stayed in bed this morning and feel a lot better now.
I'm just the same in the bath Patricia.........I can only keep my head from going under by pointing my toes to reach the end let alone read!! :-S
Does anyone remember the cut out animal masks that were on the back of Kel*ogs packets as well? I remember liking the tiger one!! lol
I had an unexpected email today from the Conservative Clubs Magazine. They had seen the photo I took of the local Conservative Club on the county villages site, were very complimentary about it and want to publish it in their members' magazine giving me full credit!!! OH was flabberghasted and told me to ask them to send me a copy of the edition they publish it in. :-D :-D

Frank,Chris stopped off at Wait**** and got something for Dinner lol.So easy cooking for me.He was pretty cheesed off that his day was a total disaster, but is actually not too grumpy.I had a glass of wine waiting for him when he got home ,so think he has chilled a bit :-D.It was a shame though as he had been looking forward to today.Hey Ho!That's life.
Liz if you are looking in I hope all goes well tomorrow. You know we will all be here with everything crossed for you.
Maureen I have no idea about wet walnuts .Do you just not eat them? I think your 'seat' will look even better when it has weathered a bit. What a clever son you have.
I do hope Ann has enjoyed today. As we haven't heard anything from her I'm guessing she was well enough to go.
Anne must be due back soon from America.I bet she has had a great time.Hope her legs have been ok. Phew it has been quite hot,and even hotter tomorrow.I'm glad I haven't packed the big fan away yet :-D :-D

I don't understand about wet walnuts. What do you do, soak them in water and then crack them open? It is, oops, was a Spanish Walnut Tree Mel, my ex brought some walnuts back from Spain and planted one in the garden, 27 years later it was standing more than 70' high. Didn't give it a thought that you could sell it. Never mind, I have a funny little seat now, will probably be a talking point for a while. Son is a carpenter and joiner so doesn't get much of a chance to create anything but he did make a little stool when he was studying at college, his tutor called me and said how impressed he was with him, I thought it was a wind up .....lol.
Hope Ann has been okay today for her trip, it's been a beautiful day here but I've been stuck indoors ironing all day, only get the weather forecast till Saturday but it looks good all week so fingers crossed for your neighbour Jane.
I may have missed a post or two, what have you got to go back into hospital for Fiona?

Haven't done any tree chopping this afternoon. TO HOT.
Doing a nice easy tea tonight, chinese spare ribs, chips and baked beans. I bought the Pork slices this afternoon, and put the Chinese maranade on, and put them in the fridge.
Ros is still pottering about outside, will leave her to it, while she feels like doing it. She will no doubl complain tonight. But she will be pleased that she has done what she has.!!

Afternoon all I am not far Frank.Smoke is still billowing gently, but white smoke now.
Yes I hope you are safe from chopping trees, and no damage :-S
Mandy I wouldn't say no to your tokens if you are really not needing them.I have got 2 saucepans and a grill pan and am hoping to replace my frying pan next. They are great pans, even if they are on the heavy side .
Poor Chris left to go to Cambridge for a talk on Virginia Wolfe and a 2hour tour around the city.He just rang me to say he got stuck in a traffic jam for 2 hours, left the ticket for the guided walk at home, and the shopping centre was shut because of a suspect package or something. What a wasted day.Something tells me not to expect a happy soul when he gets home :-S :-S :-S

Donkey's years ago I used to have a pint at The Tanners Arms at opening time on my way home from work. (sometimes I'd more than one)
I remember some nights it would coincide with Star Trek. Never missed an episode.
Other times screened was Mission Impossible.
They're making films of these two series now.

Oh what a beautiful day, We parked outside Morriso#s and when we came out could hardly bear the heat in the car. Thank goodness for Air Con. When we got home neighbour lying on a lounger in a swim suit. Not a pretty sight, for an old man. :-D :-D Whewre are the dollies when you need them ;-) ;-) ;-)
Ros purchased a load more plants for the tubs unger the window. She is out there now planting up. I'm down to shorts and bare chest. Not a pretty sight either.!!!
Hows the "three feller"( irish) doing Mel, still got a roof on the bungalow. :-) :).
Kim nice to see you around, please take care. Size eight mind you don't fall down the crack in the pavement :-0 :-0 :-0
Hope you have packed all you need for Thursday Fiona. Will you be there for a long time.????
Where's our Jane today. Not down looking at that fire I hope. They say on local radio that they have had to close roads off. So must be fairly bad. I don't know how they get permission to have places like that, so far from a water supply.
