Afternoon all,

Jane, what a todo with the fire, I haven't been to your area since the A14 was built so wouldn't know where the fire is. I suppose it will be on Anglia news tonight.

Talking of kids. CONRAD was the worse one I have ever known, for not taking his key with him when out on Sat nights with his mates. He even lost the HIDDEN KEY. It got so bad that we said if you don't5 take your key, you can speep in your car, which he did on several occassions.

Our "LITTLE BOY" is no longer. He is a teenager today We rang him before he went of playing football. to wish him "Happy Birthday" We sent him Money this year as he wants various games for his computer and X BOX.

Have cut both lawns, and some more of the tree. Filled the neighbours Wheeley Bins with the cuttings ours has been full since it was emptied two weeks ago.

Our young neighbour is off to OLANDO tomorrow morning. There are twelve of them going, all paid for by his MIL. 5x Hotel for 10 days. I ask if there was room for two more !!!

Ros is down the garden planting out a display of winter pansies, it looks good, I will have to do watering this afternoon, later.

Everything ready for dinner, Roast Beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast pots and parsnips, brussels, broc, cauli, runner beans, and carrots.Should keep the Wolves from the door.

Trust everybody is in fine fettle, don't over do it in the gardens today.

See you later.

Just been to Tes** and the blaze is just on a farm at the side of the A14.I could see huge flames .Apparently 60 fireman in attendance.I think a lot is Straw bales. What a to do !.Poor farmer. These kind of things are usually arson aren't they.It will be going for some time yet.I just hope the wind direction doesn't change as the smoke it blowing high enough over the dual carriage way not to affect traffic and is going over fields and not housing.

Kim I used to worry about my too when they were out late and were later back than normal.I would lie awake with all sorts going through my mind. Then I would either hear a car pull up or the front door go and I could then snuggle down and sleep.Chris would be out for the count and have no idea how worried I was lying there next to him.
Now I do go to sleep ,but if I wake up in the night I will always have a look out the window to see if James's car is back in the drive.
Kids eh! will always be a worry to us :-S

I feel like being lazy today......so i will be lol.Not even doing a roast. It is Bubble and Squeak cakes, with poached eggs on top, asparagus with Pancetta wrapped around.Lovely!.That will be this evening.

Morning Mel thanks for your good wishes. Hope you're not aching too much after yesterday.

Jane thanks for the pics, that is really quite a blaze!!!!

Fiona, know how you feel. I can't eat my meal, my tummy is so upset. Just taken a painkiller and doubled over. Hope this specialist rings me by Monday as I need to see someone quickly.

Supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Rain is leaking through tiles over the garage and plaster has started to pull away from the trusses. MORE EXPENSE, ahhhhh.

Hello all,

Just getting on before the internet drops out again. Our phone line has been dead also. They are sending a tech out on Monday or Tuesday to check the lines outside. Can't think why some got the photos and others didn't!!!!

Torrential rain and flooding for the last 24 hours. Didn't get to sleep until after 3.00 am waiting for my son to come home. Keith was just about to ring the hospital when he turned up. He was out at a bush 21st doing the sound for the band - right out in the sticks at Kulnurra. So glad to hear the car in the drive, whew!!!!!!

Had first of the tests last Friday and more on Tuesday and then a specialist after that. Pain comes and goes, today has not been good.

Ann good that you are feeling a bit better, amazing what bed rest will achieve. I loved that necklace, colours were fabulous.

Jane sounds like you had a lovely time with your sister. How far is that from your area?? We have had heaps of bushfires in the last few days, although this rain would have put them out. Mostly lit by young boys - they have caught a couple. What gets into these kid's heads?

Had a lovely Chinese meal on Friday night. A friend came over to keep me company as the family were in Sydney - Joel at the Motley Crue concert and Keith, Miranda and Jacob getting lost in the Sydney CBD.

Off to have my dinner. Have a good day everyone. 7.33 pm EST

Hi Mel .No, Janice's house is just 14 years old .To be truthful I think it is more here kind of thing. She seems to really love it,and she has a nice view from upstairs over Cleeve Hill (which is where she has just moved from).
She can't wait to start on the garden, even though it is small I know she will do a great job with it.

Jane Report 25 Sep 2011 10:19

Morning Fiona.
I think you would be worried in Church if you were feeling bad and kept having to go out.Better where you feel more comfortable at the moment .

This fire is still going.Chris is out with Chester and must be higher up across the way as he just rang to say he can see flames whereas here it is just the smoke.A fire engine has just raced down my Rd sirens going.Maybe they will try and tackle the fire from this side of the A14.
There is also a Vintage Steam Rally just a few fields along from where the fire is.That is a big affair each year. You should see all the lovely old cars and vehicles going down the Rd.Hopefully the smoke won't affect the Rally.
Frank did you ever go to that Rally?
I think I will get a load in the washing machine now.The smoke is not coming over the garden so should be ok to hang out.

Morning All,

Dry again today and oh just gone off to ring for church at Okehampton.

I did'nt get the time wrong on that wedding yesterday the church warden did and rang me just before 1pm. You could feel the panic in here!! I managed to get four ringers for the begining and Graham turned up so they had the five bells at the end of the service. I thought it was just a blessing as the church warden had told me they were married in the house!!!! They were'nt they married in the church. They only looked about 16. They had a lady and a young man who played the viola and cello for the hyms and they were a real treat. The music was really beautiful. I asked what one piece was called after the wedding and they told me it was the couples favorite pop song!! They also told me that they both played in an orchestra. She was from Torrington and he was from Birmingham. Forgot to ask which orchestra.

love and wishes to Kim if she is looking in.

David I am sorry I missed Ellen's birthday, please give her my belated greetings and hope she had a lovely day.

Jane I bet you feel more settled now you know what Janice's new house is like. Is it an older property like the she lost?

Morning all

Decided to not go back to church till this stomach is sorted out, hard work having to sit then stand up all the time also if I feel sick , I can't just walk out in the middle of sermon or hymns, especially as I sit up in the balcony and have quite a long way to come down.

OH off to Barcelona again today, back Wednesday he's leaving this afternoon so it will just be 3 for dinner. daughter no 1 & family not back from Italy till Tuesday.

There is a big fire just near by.I think it is just the other side of the A14.Thick black smoke. Not sure if it could be farm buildings.
Frank no doubt you will hear about it.
Back to bed with a cuppa now.I have some pics of the smoke.

Evening All
Just back from Tewkesbury. We have had a lovely time.My Sister took us on a walk around the place.round the town and back along the river. We had a meal at a pub and sat in the garden.
Her new house is lovely, even though it's much smaller than the old one.Amelia is a real cutie but quite a live wire lol.She is so small for her age and is still in 9month clothes !!.She has just started to walk and takes a few steps before wobbling and falling down .Finn is a lovely little boy and well behaved (most of the time).
Now I am ready for bed.So will see you all in the morning.Chris's turn to walk Chester :-D :-D :-D
Night Night xx

Evening all, That dreaded X factor is on T.V. so i'm playing on the pooter.!!

David you reminded me of when I had my stroke. My right side was very weak, so decided to make an ap;pointment with the swimming instructor, to help me swim again. He got me to try the Backstroke, and I went round in circles. I couldn't do the crawl either. So I gave it up as a bad job. Now if I go into the pool with Lewis I only go up to my chest. Frightened to get into deep water.

The surgery nurse who lives down the road, rang this morning to say she was going to deliver the repeat perscriptions on her way from the surgery. When she arrived with FIVE BAGS full I thought she was giving me someone elses as well. No she said. We are having all new computers, and giving out TWO MONTHS persciptions. I didn't realise how many tablets we take.Good job I don't feel suicidal

Was talking down the pub, and this guy said to someone, he and his friend had been drinking and taking puff all afternoon yesterday. I thought what a thing to say in a PUB. anyone could be a COPPER. Then he would be in it upto his neck.

The Chinese meal came half way through posting. Roast duck in orange sauce with egg fried Rice. Ros had a Special Chow Mein. (SHE didn't like it) Can't please them all of the time.
Going to have a look round Ebay till this noise is off the Tele,

Ann,The physical injuries were bad enough, could have broke my neck if I'd landed on the road differently,or been vegetated if I'd landed on my head,or killed had a bus or lorry ran over me.

Just as bad was the trauma that persisted a very long time.
Caused emotional swings between grief and anger.Went through a period when I was frightened of what I saw in the mirror :-S :-S

I must have been a handful for Ellen for a long time.

Afternoon All,

Well I went to bed with some Beec*ams yesterday afternoon.....sore throat and aches everywhere!! I didn't get up again till this morning, but the rest and sleep must have done me good as I feel much better.

I hope Ellen enjoyed her birthday David.......the first one in the new place! That was a bad accident you had, no wonder it took a long time for you to heal. It must have been very worrying wondering if you would be able to walk again too. You made me smile at the thought of you walking in a circle!

Ma*alan heve been revamping their store near here and seem to have more clothes now. At least you got something to fit Fiona, even if it wasn't what you went for it will be a good stopgap in the meantime. I seem to buy quite a lot of purple. I found once my hair got greyer, colours that used to suit me no longer did :-S :-S I have fond memories of a brown duffle coat. I never could stop fiddling with the buttons though and was always sewing one on.

I got fed up with our charity shop after they kept closing it at random times when they popped out to places like the bank. You would turn up laden with bags to find them closed and have to take it home again. I told them they were losing out and should at least leave a note on the door, but it didn't make any difference. I take stuff to the dogs' home now........can have a peek in a couple of the kennels you can see while I'm there..........haven't brought anything home ......YET!!!

Afternoon everyone,

Lovely and sunny again
Good job you checked the time for the bells Mel, hope you made it on time !!

Pat , we have about ten charity shops in our small town and they all seem to be crying out for stock,i think lots of people are selling their things at boot sales now , i notice the stalls are full of clothes ,i really only go in the shops for my books.

Fiona, i like Mata*an, they have some lovely childrens clothes and the bedding and kitchen things are good too.

I remember when little i had a Duffle Coat ,with the toggles , seem to remember it was nice and warm and a browny colour :-S

Afternoon everyone.
Sunny spells & windy, no rain thankgoodness.
OH took me to Mata*an and I managed to get a winters jacket, not the winters coat I was looking for but the jacket is fine, will go with my brown trousers , it's just for church etc.
I will go into Glasgow later on and have a look when I am feeling more stronger, was looking for a coat with a belt so I can tie it tighter. not a lot of winter coats out there this season with belts.
But OH happy he managed to get some work shirts that fit, We are a right pair. I've lots weight because I am not well, and he's put it on because he just hasn't the time to go cycling these days.

Hope you have a nice day Jane

afternoon everyone.

I have been looking on Eb*y for a winter coat....but decided as I had some things to donate to a charity shop I would look in there...

Found a nice black check 3./4 length BH* There were acouple marked up the wrong size so I asked if she had anymore . lady brought out another two ...one fitted me perfectly..and it was petite lol..
Had to donate my things there and not the shop I usually use as they were closing down for a couple of months to refurbish...

They had a sale on buy a carrier bag for 2.50 and fill it.Wasent many things left there my size and you know things shrink so next time Im down the road I will donate the small things to the other charity shop...

Did get a couple of things that fitted me ;-)

just been doing abit of gardening very overcast here now.. Just ate my lunch while typing a naughty habit
