Jane, glad you asked about the g grandchildren. (Or maybe you'll be sorry you did!) Nature has a funny way of playing things eh? G Grandson Ralph was born eighteen monhs ago last October. Mummy hummed and harred about the christening, plus an awkward vicar playing God in the church in A - no better not say where! Meantime, Mummy gets pregnant again, no accident, she wanted her children close together. A late Christening was planned for Ralph, then there were complications and actually Mummy was in hospital anyway on the hoped for date. A difficult and early birth, won't go into details. Anyway, a lovely little g granddaughter survives all this and she will be 6 months old shortly. Meantime, they found the church at nearby Mancetter where they have a lovely family Sunday, christenings and all sorts. Hence, we shall all be there, including a lot of family from Essex. So, sorry no twins to report, just two beautiful children. Oh, yes, Ralph is mad on the film Cars, so no doubt he will be Christened whilst grimly holding onto a model of Rory, or Lightning McQueen, and proably insisting they are blessed too!
My wife & I have been reliving all the christenings we have been party to, our own childrens, other peoples, who we are God parents to, and all sorts of other things, including antique Christening robes.

I hope it doesn't rain for Ann today Mel.Is it coming up from Cornwall? The sky looks a bit iffy now,but I don't think we are forecast any wet stuff this evening.
Anne how long are you going for?Is it 2 weeks.I do hope they get this test done soon for your legs.I know when I wore flight socks to Tokyo, the first thing I did when i got off the plane was to whip them off.
Frank it's so good to know that Ros is much better in herself now and that all the patches etc are helping keep the pain down.I bet life is much less stressful now for both of you.
Chris is watering the garden.I see in out paper we really could do with 3 months worth of rain in this area. Now the sun is coming out again. It has been very strange weather today.
Funny how we all remember holding our arms out for Mums to wind the wool. I bet children these days won't know what the heck we mean lol.Do many people still knit with needles ,or is it knitting machines?

The rain seems to staying away from us today so far at least althoughit looks as thought it could pour at any moment, in fact it has just started!! Been to town this morning to buy things for the hols which proved to be very frustrating as we had trouble finding just what we needed but managed eventually. Have just had a loverly suprise, the man from Amazon arrived with things for hubby and he brought me a Andrea Bocelli CD which is now playing in the background. I love his voice which always reminds me of a very wet afternoon in Sorrento watching a recording of a concert. I was all alone in the hotel lounge reading when the barman turned on the television and I was lost for ages listening to his wonderful voice. Maybe one day I might get to see him in the flesh.
Jane Thanks for the information. I am still waiting for the practise nurse to ring back with the appointment details. At this rate I will have left the country before I hear anything. So pleased to hear that your thumb is improving. It's strange that you do not reolise just how much you use parts of your body until you are unable too
Frank Have a super day at the football tomorrow and hope Ros continues to feel better. Better get back to the research now

Hello everyone,
Sunny here today. Sorry haven't got the energy to catch up with the posts. Looks like Jane had a fall and hurt her thumb - was it on the river Jane when you went punting? Have a good night at the neighbours' party and I hope you recover soon. My two children are left-handers too.
Thank you to everyone who sent me good wishes for my health, much appreciated.
Where has Ann gone for her holiday?
Frank have a good day tomorrow at the football tournament. Hope Ros will be comfortable enough to enjoy the day.
Sheila will be in Paris by now, wow I wish :-) The time away will be good for. I wonder what they will get up to. She leads an interesting life, I love reading her stories, some funny happenings. That christening was a scream!!!
Sorry I'm not up to speed, I'll get there eventually. Have a good day all. Off to watch some tv and take the Val**m. Yes Frank, people do pay a lot of money to get that lovely floaty feeling. Unfortunately, they only gave me 4 pills to be going on with, what happens when they run out??? ;-)
Father's Day here tomorrow. Keith will be going to lunch with Joel, Miranda & Jacob, Jacob's mum and the other son. Boy I'm really on the outer at the moment ;-)
bye all 10.34 pm EST

Dark miserable morning here, you don't know where you are. Thank goodness I got all my jobs down outside yesterday. Going to have a restful day today.Tomorrow we are off the the all day football tournament at Lewis's football club, so need to get some strength up, as I will be pottering about a lot. Must remember to pack the chairs
David, What have you done, pushed the wax deeper into your ear, with the dropper ??? You are a disaster waiting to happen :-D :-D :-D
Madam has gone to see her friend, and get some bits for packed lunch tomorrow. She seems a lot better in herself now she knows there is nothing showing on her Cat scan results, Still suffering with the pain in the hip and leg, but with the patches, tablets and TENS machine she seems to be copeing quite well.

Morning girls It's a cloudy one this morning.I hope it brightens up for early evening as we are going to our neighbours Golden Wedding Party and I know they are hoping to be in the garden as 40 odd people just won't fit indoors lol
Anne A Doppler test is (I think) an Ultra sound machine to check the blood flow in your legs.It may be that you need that done before the strength of stockings can be decided.
Mandy, sounds like that nail of his might come off !.Why was he wearing his trainers?? :-( :-(
Not long to wait now then Fiona.I don't know why but I had the 2nd in my mind for your results.
It seems really dark now.I hope it doesn't rain. I can move my thumb more this morning :-D but still can't put pressure on it. It is my left thumb, and I'm left handed :-S :-S
I must get to the bank before it shuts so >>>>>>>>>see you later

Morning All
Hi Mel, thats ok.
Gray, cloudy & wet this morning , OH went out on his bike, he would normally not go on a rainy day like this but he is desperate to get some exercise and lose a bit of weight round the old tum, we have been so busy with tidying up jobs around the house after changing the boiler that there has been no time to fit his cycle rides in. we did the food shopping last night so he he could go out this morning.

William , i can remember when the wool was sold on Skeins and mum liked it wound into a ball for knitting , i use to hold the skeins out for her .
Mel, mum could make a good ball with the holes at each end too, you just have to get an even wined ,turning as you wound .
Poor old hubby has dropped a couple of bricks on his big toe ,its really black under the nail and the toe itself is now turning black !!!! He had trainers on instead of his steel toecap boots .
Oh David hope your ear will feel better with the spray , your ear must be sore if its closed up like that .
Quite a tale from Sheila again , i do so love her stories , if you haven't already gone Sheila have a good weekend away .
I've been visiting Franks porcelain friend these last few hours !! trot ,trot trot !!!!
Enjoy your holiday Ann, safe journey .
Night Night all.

Oh just caught up with yor postings. So glad to hear that pat has her home back to herself now without workmen so she can do as she pleases in the mornings.
Kim sorry to hear you have been in hospital. Did they do any tests while you were there for you to have results later?? They really should have known what was wrong :-(
Sheila have a nice time away and I hope your cold clears completely soon and you enjoy your time away.
Anne my marrows are coming from my courgettes that I hav'nt cut!! Veg spaghetti I have had 8 fruits off already and there are more coming along. I can't grow things outside the tunnel now as we are overun with rabbits. One funny thing that has happened in the tunnel is that I have a little vole in there and it has bittern down the spinach plants to get to the seeds on higher stems. I don't mind that as the plants were going to be pulled up and given to the chickens anyway. I shall plant some more for the small leaves for sandwiches, lovley.......... Khol Rabi nearly ready in there too about the size of a golf ball. Celeriac doing quite well to as oh said it would'nt grow in the tunnel, they are about tennis ball size but there are only 9. Next year I may do more.
William I too had to sit with my arms out while mum wound the balls of wool. I got quite good at it too at a young age and could wind a super ball with a hole at each end. I hated knitting though as it did'nt grow quick enough for me. I remember learning to knit when I had the measles. I had yellow wool and yellow plastic needles and can see it in my minds eye now, me sitting in the big scratchy armchair in the lounge. I think we had one of those utility sweetes?? is that what they were called? It was brown in colour and very rough.
