Afternoon everyone , Nice and sunny here ,but the wind is quite strong , i shouldn't complain when you think what the poor Americans are getting over there !!
Hope Shirl is tucked up some where safe and sound too.
I hope frank and Ros have a good time at the wedding , i keep thinking about the poor groom and bride , what should be a happy day will be touched with such sadness for them both .
Jane, were those single things felt ? they can hold the heat and are rough to kneel on ,no wonder his knees are so sore .
Ohhh....its now pouring with rain !!!!

Afternoon all.
I have been reading though your posts and trying to catch up. Frank and Ros ..have a nice time at the wedding. Thank you all for the emails and photographs that awaited me on my return..
I had a nice time in Weston ...Went on the new pier twice,, What an eye opener..Like a mini But*ins ....inside their big tent thingy... Had a go on the 2p machines lol... like I did with my grandchildren the previous week in Hayling.. Went to a show at the Pavillion...Saw "Songs from the Shows".. The singers were very good but some of the songs I have never heard of before.. We had to avoid the showers from time to time....Had a drive out twice.. Alan other half wanted to cross the Clifton Bridge...That was high up over the river Avon...
Now we are back we are trying to put the kitchen and bathroom back together..I had a shower today lol..All the gadgets have been put up on the tiles..Alan has been drilling away carefully... The shower rail went up yesterday...Now it is beginning to look like a bathroom and not an empty shell...We are still waiting for them to sort the bath panel out..It was cut and fitted !!!!! while I was at my daughters no way are we having it like that.. very dangerous corners dont fit...
The kitchen has pictures put up with some photographs of the grandchildren...I still have the venetion blind to clean and the window frames and window.. We are thinking of changing the blind but cant leave it like it is.
I have washed the net curtains today missed the one out in the back bedroom by mistake...So those windows have been cleaned...The dust got everywhere,,I tried to clean as I went along all these months..It is now 8 months since our house got wet.. and we are still waiting for them to come back and finish off.
The new kitchen floor was put down sometime ago...This had to be done this way as they were building the kitchen around it...As they were fitting it they were also were putting down the black covering on top to protect it :-0 we noticed 2 planks were damaged so they changed them straight away...When the man came to remove the covering Alan wanted to be there as well...There are another 2 damaged boards as well....these we are waiting to be changed as well...I think they must have been damaged while being put down...The man wasent pleased or Alan..
How they are going to remove them and refit with out damaging anymore we will see...They know I am at home this week only then I will be back at school (part time job )

You should see Chris's knees this morning! All red and swollen.Poor old soul.Hannah took Chester out for his constitutional . Yes Chester does love to help unwrap things lol.He gets so excited. I have just bought him a new toy .It looks like a flat Canada Goose with a squeaker,he is running around with it shaking it like a rat lol All Hannahs new bedding is now in the washing machine to soften before she uses it.
Fiona I remember having a sore hand after the venflon came out.It was like a really painful deep bruise.I hope poor little bunny finds it's way home. They can be a devil to catch.
Still no Shirl :-S I wonder if the bad weather has caused power problems. I hope that Ros's Step G Daughter and her new Hubby manage to get to New York for their Honeymoon.I saw New York was going to badly hit. :-S :-S
The sun is shining nicely at the moment, but lots of big clouds about. I better go and get the roast potatoes in now.The meat is all cooked and resting .

Hope the weather staysfine for Frank and Ros at the wedding. Looking forward to some piccies.
Have to clear the kitchen up as we may have someone call with the dog show on our ground.
We still never use the huge lounge we have here. I think it is because it was always mums rooms. I really must sort it out though as there are still things in there for me to sort through.
I remember one Christmas time when young wrapping pressies up on the lounge floor when son was little and watching the musical on the telly whilst wrapping. It was Brigadoon with Gene Kelly who was in singing in the Rain. I thought he was agreat dancer and every time that film comes on the telly and I see the title I always think of that night many moons ago. At the time I thought it was rather magical. Silly old fool :-D

Enjoy your day Frank :-)
OH blocking in pipes in the kitchen before we repaper and paint, he's just been outside to the garage for some tools when he saw a baby bunny run across the garden. thinks it must be someones pet who's got lose, we don't get rabbits around here normally!!!!! daughter no 2 says catch it before it gets hurt or run over by a car. It's never appeared again probably gone to someone elses garden , I hope there is no little child upset somewhere wondering where his or her's rabbit is.
Thanks for pics Jane Chris doesn't look all that safe up on that roof. I didn't like it when OH was fitting his shed roof.
Chester looks like he was really into all that paper, I bet he was in Hannah's way :-D lol

morning All
My hand is much better today , have been able to wash my hair in the shower. Have a lovely day Ros & Frank at the wedding ,hope the weather stays nice, Its cloudy here and really windy. so far no rain
David I remember the school milk bottles, they sat in a crate all morning often sitting near a sunny window or radiator , not that you got much sunshine in Sunderland, On a real wet and windy day, when you went for a walk along Roker promanade the sea would be lashing against the pier, I remember kids would stand too close to the edge and the water would come up and soak them they loved it screaming and running away, I was never alowed to go along the pier as a child, I can remember once or twice on the local news that some kids got swept over into the sea, mum and dad would tell me when I was little "look the waters hanging up" really the things you believed when you were little :-D later on the put up gates so you couldn't get on to the pier.
I could see the sea from our front living room window and I would sit often by myself on an evening watching the ships go by, this was when OH (boyfriend at the time) was at sea , I knew he would never go past the window as he was always away in some foreign country or other. When we got married and I went to sea with him, Mum would write in her letters that she was sitting watching the sea as she wrote to me, Ah memories, what a long time ago,

Remember at school, the milk. Everyone got a straw with their bottle of milk. Not everyone wanted theirs and I often had another two. I'd drink it straight from the bottle. Distinct memory of class master saying,Irvine, don't you know some cat's p**sed on that.
Funny the things you remember.

I can't believe how hot his knees were!.As long as he keeps them away from me tonight.Otherwise i shall be turning that fan on lol.I could actually feel the heat through his jeans without touching the material. He says he won't be doing that job again !
Well that is me for today,so will say Night Night to you all.xx

Oh it's any excuse for them to drop 'em Jane! ;-) ;-) Mine is just the same and always wants you to rub any ointment in as well!! lol I hope they are better for tomorrow's walkies. Did he manage to get it all done?
We had a bit of a panic a little while ago. Great clonking noise from the back of the gas fire in the lounge. OH fetched me through to listen. I thought it sounded very loud to be a bird and was wondering if a squirrel had got behind the fire somehow. It is one of those that fits straight in the wall, off the ground with no hearth. We trouped outside to look on the roof to see if the flue top had been fetched off and 3 Magpies flew off!!! They were the culprits, trying to yank the rubber seal and flashing off. Most mornings they are at it with the bird mesh in the gutters too and I have to get up and rattle the window. When the guttering was all renewed we got the chaps to stick all the flashing down on the conservatory as they had ripped that. I haven't seen them doing it on the neighbours roofs.....most odd??
I have just found 1 child in a family and he alone was born in Tasmania. They even made his middle name Hobart which is the capital of Tasmania. All the other children and his parents were born here and were here on all the censuses. Another mystery to sort out......not another convict I hope. lol
Off to bed now, hope the sun shines for the wedding photos. I do feel tired today and have done nothing. Night, night everyone xx

Looks like the hurricane Irene will pass closest to Shirl over the next 2 days. They have plotted it's expected route on google earth. It will have lost some strength by then but still 70mph! I hope she will be ok.
I saw a funny 'weed' in the raised bed a little while ago. I couldn't tell what it was so teased it out gently and on it's root was a big peanut and shell!!! We know who the evidence points to, so I wonder how many more the little scamp has buried. I might pot this one up as a houseplant. The sawn down palms on the front are growing like mad again now.....both of them.
Oh William!! I would have said yes for a copy for FIL, but he has all the musicals. I think some moments turn us all into silly old fools and we are all the better for it.
Yes, I hope all goes as well as it can tomorrow Frank. The poor groom, such a mixture of feelings for him. It is sad that such an unhappy memory will always be linked with the happy one.

Nice to hear you are a soppy old date .Just like me.I can cry at the drop of a hat lol.I used to sing in a choir. The church choir! I was always in trouble with the vicar for mucking about. One of my friends (Leslie)used to bring a Sloworm)sp) and keep it under her cassock lol.It caused a riot and a right dressing down from the Rev Bromham..He actually was a lovely man and put up with a lot from us rabble in the choir. We did sing well though :-D :-D
