I wasn't asked to stick my head between her knees.
She did ask if I could hear her.
She didn't sound quieter or louder, just differant.

She asked what does that feel like?
I replied wet.

It had been sore up the right side of face Ann from back of ear up to eye.

I will William! I asked him about the Co-op Dance Hall at Nuneaton and he remembers it well and agrees it was a shame to pull it down. We were asking him where he worked after he finished in the cinema and he told us he worked at Clear Hooters at Bedworth until they closed. Used to cycle there at first. He worked at the company that they took over before that, but I can't remember the name now. I don't know if they have ever been in the Church tearooms.....will ask. Its good your wife is feeling like trips out.......will be nice for you both while the weather is good.

Sounds like they will be sparkling after friday too David!! Were they painful with the wax or was it just hard to hear? My OH often doesn't hear me, but I don't think it is his ears.

Jane Report 24 Aug 2011 20:58

Pardon David I didn't quite hear you lol.It is a wonderful feeling when all that wax gets washed out.Everything sounds so loud for a while.I went quite woozy when `I had mine done and had to stick my head between my knees for a few moments. You must have a lot in there if you need it doing twice :-S

William it sounds like you and your OH had a lovely day out.

Mandy ,lets hope your son gets some relief now that tooth has gone.2Abcesses !!!! Crikey :-0

David Report 24 Aug 2011 20:32

Had my ears syringed this afternoon.
Not a pleasant experiance,but neither's ear wax.
Got to go back Friday so she can do it again.
At least I can say my ears are clean :-)

Evening everyone . . . . .
Annx, you can tell your FIL that Hinckley had two visitors today. As it was so nice, we took advantage of my wifes new found health (and love of going out once again) we flashed our bus passes on the No 48 and had a nice bus ride for a change. Better than driving, not seeing anything, burning up the kids inheritance in petrol, and finding (and affording) somewhere to park.
We had a nice cuppa and a slice of home made bread pudding in the church tea room. Mind you, I've never found anyone who makes bread pud like my Mum made. Frank, we've been here before!
What added to it all was how nice and friendly everyone was, including a lovely little girl in the church tea rooms, who came and chatted to us and gave us her fashion update.
I hope you have all had as nice a day as we've had. Even better, the showers didn't start till we'd got home and got the washing in.
Catch you all tomorrow, if my feet touch the ground

Just saw your post Mandy. No wonder your son was still in pain......a deep filling wouldn't have cured it would it. I bet he is glad the tooth has gone now......2 dentists to take it out though and stitches.....it will be sore for a while after that!! I had my last antibiotic today thank goodness as I could taste them all the time, bitter and salty. My tooth is a lot better now, but still a bit sensitive so time will tell. I must have a look and see what your latest bargain cottage is like!

Annx Report 24 Aug 2011 19:09

I haven't heard 'Glad All Over' for ages Jane. It was the Dave Clark 5. It was a hit in my teens.

Thanks for the recipes Frank........I might have a go. I hope Harvey is soon in less pain now he has some antibiotics. I do feel sorry for the groom. As you say, it's two extremes.....the wedding won't be very easy for him having just lost his dad.

We have the rain here now too, pelting down. OH has gone to meet up with his old work buddies at Burton for a meal.......hope he has his brolly with him.

Anne I wonder if the Osprey nests are near Manton if that is where people stand to look for them. We were told that their location was secret when we went, but I bet there are those 'in the know'. I like Uppingham.......some very old buildings there.

Jane, I bet Hannah will be glad to get properly settled in at her new place. They won't need the gym after they have moved everything to the second floor though. I think James has the right idea to do a bit of sport as a break from job hunting.....helps clear the mind. You have done really well keeping your guard in all night. Maybe you have cracked it now as you say.

Well, I'm feeling peckish now, so better have a look and see what to have.

Ann, thanks for the photo's ,what a lovely looking horse , i bet it was lovely trotting along the lanes in the sun shine.

Don't know if i said about son going to the dentist the other day ....he had a tooth filled the other week and he's had tooth ache since , back he went and the dentist said he could have a deep cavity filling or take the tooth out , so he had the tooth out and there were two abscess's !!! no wonder he had tooth ache , it took two dentist 's to get the tooth out !! and he had to have the gum stitched up.

Fiona , hope all goes well for you tomorrow .

Lovely sunny evening here now .

I am going to a private hospital in Glasgow tomorrow for an Ultra Scan and an Endoscope procedure as I have been haveing terrible acid reflux and sickness and pain,I have not been very well for a long time, but recently it has got worse and I had to change my diet to cope with the pain also I have been losing weight, which is not good.
my small vanity case is packed with dressing gown , slippers and a few toiletries and all the paper work,
I am not sure if I will be on here tomorrow after I get back as I expect to be a bit drowsy from the seditive they are going to give me,

Sofia has just gone with her daddy and OH is cooking the dinner, I better enjoy this meal as after my breakfast at 8.00 tomorrow I am not allowed to eat or drink anything, I will be gasping for a drink by the time I go for my procedures they are at 11.00am & 12.15pm

Hi Everyone It has beern a lovely day today and we have spent it at home just pottering around. It is looking very cloudy now so think we may have the rain overnight.

Ann: the photographs are gorgeous and you did travel in style and what a lovely day too.

Frank And to think I could have seen you in your shorts!!! We stayed in Uppingham at Loch Isle restaurant and the food was very good, maybe you have been there? The people who stand on the bridge just outside Manton are looking for Ospreys and there is usually someone there in the summer.Yes people come from all over the world to visit the fair and a lot of travel companies are represented. We have only missed two since the fair started as it gives hubby a chance to do some " networking " as well as finding new places to visit.

Jane I love the area around Rutland water and we used to spend quite a lot of time there but now do not go as often. Often met the family for lunch at Barnsdale Lodge but, with the arrival of the baby this year, we have not been for awhile.I am seeing the DR next week and will ask him about a letter.

Fiona Am not quite sure what is happening to you tomorrow but hope it all goes well.

Guess what It's raining!! glad we had our BBQ in time. This was a very slimming affair as we have decided to be good for the next two weeks before our America trip.We had some steak from Waitr**e which was lovely with some spanish style potatoes( from the garden) and only a small glass of wine.

I must see about adding a photograph to my profile. Think I shall need hubby's help :-D :-D

Jane Report 24 Aug 2011 18:04

Has anyone heard the Ma* Dona**s advert. The song 'Glad all over'(think by the Dave Clark 5).I just love it lol
Well this silly weather,it seems to be passing over at the moment and still not a drop.
Got pasta tonight with my own sauce that I made. I've done some Lardons to add to the sauce.Hopefully it will go down well. With garlic bread and side salad.

I managed to sleep all night last night with the bite guard in!!!!.So I think I have conquered it now.
James is just off to play football now.I think it does him good as he is spending so much time looking for jobs.He had a long appointment at the Job Centre today.
Hannah will be moving this evening and lugging all her belongings up to the second floor :-S.Her friend Polly has the use of a car and will be helping her.
I can't wait to see where she is living.
Where is Liz??? any news on the house front?????

Afternoon All,

Haven't caught up with all the posts yet, but yes, hope all goes well tomorrow Fiona, it will soon be done now.

I am absolutely pooped after my trip out today. Rocky was nearly 'dressed' in his harness when I arrived. He is a really gentle gipsy pony who was taught to pull carriages at the tender age of 2! The lady who owns him spent last week in the city in the asian quarter doing rides as part of the Ramadan celebrations. She said it had been hilarious, with asian ladies in their sarees queuing up for rides and calling him sweetie and darling!! lol She said as soon as she got one lot out, others were climbing in and squabbling about who was first. Grey horses are special in their culture, I think grooms sometimes ride grey horses to their wedding ceremonies so Rocky was a big hit with them. The area of the city she was in is a very busy area with traffic and she said there were balloons popping, people shouting and children everywhere.......everything to scare a horse, but she said he was cool as a cucumber didn't bother one bit. She still had the ribbons on the carriage from doing that when we went out. Me and my friend were hanging on to the rails for the first 10 minutes as it was a bumpy road, but then we were fine till the wheels went off the tarmac at the edge and we did quite a lurch. I think I shouted ' man overboard ' at that point. lol
I knew the first lanes we went down, but then she went down bridle roads I had never been down even though they are only a few miles away from where I live. We saw a Buzzard sitting in a big tree only a few feet away, but it was gone before I could get my camera. We then turned in to a pub where OH and I go and has the little cottage I did a painting of next door. We put Rocky down at the bottom in the shade and I went and brought our food and drinks outside to sit near him. The kiddies there loved him and were soon making their parents bring them over. lol We came back a different way past the place where they do driving for the disabled and the lady said she had been there a couple of times with Rocky. She said the Down's Syndrome children absolutely loved him and got so excited. Then when we got back we gave Rocky a wash down and small feed .....he was having a good roll in the field as we drove by.

Now I'm cross.I did a long post and it's vanished :-S :-S
I had said amongst lots of other things, that I wish you well for tomorrow Fiona. You will be fine, and we will all be thinking of you.

Frank,I reckon poor Andy is going to be exhausted by the time the wedding comes on Sunday.I do hope he will be alright. He's going to be on an emotional roller coaster.

I also said we haven't had a drop of rain today, but now it is very black and stormy looking.I think I spoke too soon.Have just grabbed all the towels off the line, shut up the greenhouse and summerhouse.

Ann Rocky looks a very handsome horse.Good job you went today with the nice sunshine.
I'm going to try again and post this now ,so here goes.

Thanks for the recipes Frank,
A little unsual mixture of ingredents, but I'm sure they they are nice together, unfortunatly I am unable to eat cakes etc at the moment, but would love to hear from anyone who gets the chance to sample them.

Received a letter from the hospital (a different one to the one I'm going tomorrow) to see a Dr about the white blood cells on the 22nd of September, it will be interesting to see what is causing the problem. and to see if it has anything to do with my stomach problems.
