Frank oh wants to do the grass today. I had just got a load of washing done when it rained here. It clouded over very quickly and then down it came. It has stopped now but for how long I don't know. Now grass too wet to mow!! OH wandering about like a lost soul now. I have another lot of washing in so lets hope it stays dry.

Morning all,

Anne, We were at Conrads at the weekend, and saw all the twitchers on the bridge going into Oakham, and the signes pointing to the bird fair. I also saw a Mini Bus with POLAND WILDLIFE down the side, Conrad said they come from all over the world for that weekend. Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Ros has been a lot better, she has gone to get her nails done for the wedding on Sunday.

I have hoovered through, picked more beans, tomatoes, and dug three roots of potatoes. Some weigh a good half pound. Ideal for CHIPS.

The groom to be is flying to Spain today. They are cremating his father tomorrow, and he will fly back on Friday. Poor little bugger won't know wheater he's on his head or his heels

Jane, It's Ros's step Grand daughter not Daughter who is getting married. Harvey and Julia, sat her down yesterday and read the the riot act, regarding her over excitement about the wedding. They have told her to think of Andy (the groom) as he is going to break down somewhere along the way, over the loss of his father. She can be a selfish little madam when she wants !!!!

Can't make up my mind, Do I do the lawns or the ironing ??? I think the lawns win, as it's such a shame to be indoors on a day like today. Will do the ironing this evening (IF SHE LETS ME)

Have a "GOOD DAY" see you all later.

Oh Hi Anne.So you have been to Rutland!!!!.You might have passed Frank in his Shorts lol.
Sounds like you have had a lovely time too with the family.I hope your legs are ok by the time you go away.Do you need a Dr's letter to give you the go ahead?
Did you see lots of birds? Any Pics?I haven't been to Rutland Water since the children were young and we took the bikes and rode around the Water.Oh those were lovely times.

COLD ?? Mandy I still had the fan on this afternoon.Mind you I was ironing lol.I don't think it's cold though, and we only had a bit of rain. They got that wrong :-S
Chris said when he came downstairs this morning and sat outside with his coffee,a big Hawk landed on my washing line!!!.Where was the camera????.
Upstairs by my bed :-( :-(I think Pat came home at the weekend) may be wrong on that.I thought she was just away for 4 days.Anne is still missing and Liz.I wonder how the house contract is going.

Frank ,I hope the antibiotics start doing the job for Harvey soon so he will be more comfortable for the wedding.I keep thinking about the poor Groom and Ros's Stepdaughter.Such a sad thing to happen just before their Wedding.
Poor Chester has just been conking out today, and limping on one of his front legs again. He is not his normal 'mad' self.
Hannah moves into her new permanent home tomorrow. If I knew the address I would send a card.I hope she will be happy in the new flat with the one girl who I think is called Leanne.
Mel that sounded a good bargain ,and I bet it will look lovely in your border .

Hi Everyone
Am back from my travels. Had a super weekend visiting the Bird Fair at Rutland water and trhen on to see the family. cannot believe just how much Lucy has grown in the last few weeks and she can now roll over and over and lift her head and upper body off the ground. She is developing much more quickly than Hazel did.Hazel was her usual busy self and loved having her PaPa to play with. When it was time for us to leave she dashed upstairs with her teddy and would not say goodbye bless her.
Legs not too bad at the moment although veins painful. They will need to settle down before our flight in 2 weeks.
Frank Thanks for the recipes. I shall try the cake as lots of courgettes around.
Mandy Thanks for missing me.
Must go and read the rest of the posts. :-D :-D

Evening all,

Been busy putting loads of cutlery on Ebay When we cleared Ros's dad's house we enptied all the cutlery into a basket. The two boys have taken what they want (ALL THE SILVER ) :-D :-D Ros has put bits away, the rest all stainless steel, but in good condition with makers name and bone handles, are left. So I started today to sort them and list on Ebay.

I did a nice butterflyed leg of lamb tonight, with new pots, runner beans and cabbage. She ate nearly all of it. She also had a choc ice cream.

I have washed up and left it to drain, will sort it later.

Feel very achey now, sat over the computer for most of the day. Will go and watch a bit of tele. Might see you later.

Mel, that sounded a good buy. William glad you had good news. Not much of it about at our age ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

William I am so pleased that you had a good result for your wife at last. I can understasnd her wanting to go out now she feels better and is'nt in pain all the time.

Been shopping and when I cam ehome not far from where I live I spotted a concrete statue for sale outside the place that sells firewood. Had gone past so I reversed to see how much he wanted for it. It is a shell birdbath supported by a young lady a bit putti like. No wings but rather nice and about 3 and a half foot tall. The price was £20 and I thought that rather reasonable so I rang the phone number on the shed but had an answer phone. Rushed home to get oh as there was no way I couod lift it. He came back with me and I put the money in the Honesty Box and oh got the statue in the boot for me. I will take a pick when I get it out the boot. Not sure where to put it yet but think I may have it in the border.

It has taken me ages to catch up on all the posts. Haven't been on for a while, making the most of the sunny days. Have been sitting in the garden, in the sun, reading a book, in fact I've read the latest one in less than a week, very unusual for me, I'm a slow reader.

Loved to see the new photos Ann and Kim, I shall be changing mine a lot now I've got the hang of it, showing off really .....lol Looks like I've got my grumpy face on in the photo, probably mum wouldn't let me have or do something I wanted. Only had to smile at my lovely old dad and he would have given me the top brick off the chimney. It's quite easy Jane, well if I can do it, it must be, when you've posted just click on update profile and follow it from there.

I didn't get photos from Ann either, what were the free taster session papers, must have missed a few posts.

I think that's really nice Jane, to have neighbours over for dinner, there's no community anymore, not around here anyway, although I don't think I would accept an invitation from any of my neighbours, there idea of a mild curry would blow my socks off.

That's an excellent idea Fiona, a mood board and thinking about how you want to change the kitchen/diner will give you something to focus on.

Kim I would say your daughter is MUCH too young to be moving in with her boyfriend, does he live with his parents. How would she support herself, oh, I know, bank of mum and dad. So she wants her freedom but still wants to be dependent.

Hi everyone.
Sorry I haven't been on lately but it's thanks to some good news for a change. My wife has been suffering terrible headaches for over two years now which even affects her vision. Luckily we refered to the consultant neurolgist at Coventry University hospital. He had her in for two weeks a short while back. She underwent test, MRI and a medication revue. Luckily there was no tumour or cancer but a thickening of the skull bone, ie; causing pressure. A form of osteoarthritus, he change her medication regime and she is so much better.
Hence she likes to go out as much as possible when the weather allows, leaving me less time to be on here! Having said all that, I'm sure you will all be pleased to excuse me. We are sure that our GP's were thinking that she was making it all up, but it's amazing what going to the right medic achieves. We have found this over the past 15 years after she was diagonosed with oromandibular dystonia and we seemed to be collecting hospitals around the Midlands and as far as London.
Anyway, sorry to go on, I'm just so pleased to report some positive results. Maybe it will encourage others not to give up hope.

Catch you all soon - meanwhile YOU all take care of yourselves.

Afternoon to all my lovlies,

Had a phone call from Harvey to say they got home about 1am this morning. He has been to the doctors. He has found a small groth at the bottom of his testicles. non maligant thank god. This is why he has been feeling like he has. !!! They have put him on Anti biotics, and he's got to go back next week.

He phoned again 15 minutes later to say the Grooms father had passed away this morning, no nrews as to when the cremation will take place. (I don't think they waste a lot of time in SPAIN). Ros said he was sobbing his heart out. due to the fact, today is the anniversary of his best friends death. who got killed in a motor cycle accident. (POOR OLD HARVEY) got a lot to sort out now, and not feeling in the best of health. We have offered to go down, and help if we can. We will wait and see.

I had a little look up on Thomas Hardy on Ancestry and it seems he did'nt have any children. Interesting though. He started out as an architects clerk. Buried in Westminster Abbey in poets corner but his heart was buried with his first wife in Dorset where he came from.

Mandy perhaps they were both horse fly bites. I know when I get one it itches like mad and I try very hard not to scratch it.

Have to pop down and get my prescription as they close this afternoon.
