Shirl you prune climbers but don't prune shrub roses. I just dead head really cuting to an outward facing bud.
Had our curry and it was nice. I put a little cream in it as I had used the hot curry powder. When I opened the pomps which were supposed to be 10 there were 12 :-D

Mel what did you do to yourself?I must have missed that post.Curry sounds good.I only like very mild please :-D.I don't know what out friend is doing for the meal tonight. It is us ,another couple from along the road and the hosts.I think it will be a fairly simple meal ,nothing weird!(I hope).
Shirl ,I think we just prune back our climbing rose.I don't know much about these things. You could google and see what it says. I'm just having a 'small' glass of wine now as I put a little bit of slap on.Just a bit of eyeshadow and Mascara.I have never used any face makeup.I don't know why really. My sister when she was young had makeup that thick you could literally scrape it off :-S,and she never blended it in either so there was always a line about chin level lol. Enjoy the rest of your stay at Rutland Frank. It is so good to hear that Ros is eating more and feels a bit better in herself. The fact she went to Peterborough says something. Must get changed now.Maybe back later, maybe not.

What a palavour the girls have had, they have just walked in. They went to a multi storey carpark , and had to park on floor 7. They got the wheelchair out and set up, only to find that floor didn't have a lift. Jan pushed her up to the next floor only to find the the lift only serviced floors 1/3/5/ and 9 So they were stuck on 8. A young man. helped them out and got them to a floor where the lift stopped. They wondered why there were so many parking spaces available !!!! Anyway they had a good afternoon out.

Evening all,
Girls still out. So hope Ros is OK. I know Jan will look after her.
Conrad and I have been on our computers all afternoon, I have been selling on Ebay Various Motoring bits (brochures keyrings etc) Someone out there will want them. I HOPE :-) :-) : I think Conrad is catching up on what he couldn't do while his computer was down. The BT engineer was here yesterday when we arrived. He said it was the stealing of cable again. Twice in three weeks in the same place. It's by the Christmas Tree farm. Out in the sticks. so I suppose they wern't disturbed. CCTV comes to mind. It might be worth it if it's going to be regular.
Not going out for lunch tomorrow, as Conrad wants to cook. So I will treat them to an Indian tonight.

Oh good Frank and Ros are ok :-D
Been holding wood up for oh today and I did'nt gert up till 10am!! :-D
Foot heel still very sore but knuckle has eased a bit. I did take a few pics today of the garage and went up the potting shed to see if I could find the old weathervane to see if it would fit the garage. It needs a good paint and moveing up a bit to make it fit above the eaves. Don't know whether it is worth it?
Done a nit of hoovering and really should do some ironing as oh has'nt an ironed shirt for ringing tomorrow.
Yesterday evening I decided to cook a curry for dinner. Did that and then decided it would take too long for the meat to get tender so I did a chilli with garlic bread and bunged the curry in the oven so we will have that tonight so I have a night off cooking.
ho hum off I go to get the iron out.................. :-D :-D

Afternoon all,
We arrived at Conrad'sabout 4pm yesterday. Sat and talked in the garden for the rest of the lovely day. Had dinner about 7pm.
Ros, Apart from her pain is a lot brighter. She has eaten a bit of dinner and breakfast this morning. Now gone to P'Borough with Jan. Wheelchair in tow. In case she needs it. !!!!
I see you have all been busy, with one thing or another.
I was up and sitting in the garden by 7.30 this morning, watching all the finches, tits, song thrushes and blackbirds. all busy doing their thing around the bushes, borders and on the lawn. Songthrush sunbathed for ages, turning around as he got to hot. It's noe clouded over and looks like rain.
Thet will be calling you "JAWS" soon Jane :-D :-D :-D :-D

Oh yes more pics please Mel.Chris is always saying He's getting to old for all this climbing ladders and scaffolds. It does give me the willies when I see him balanced on top.He doesn't have a good record with ladders. :-S :-S
I think I said yesterday we have 4 pears.Well since then the wasps have got to them and we just rescued 1.How dare they. These are the first we have ever had I think.
It feels quite muggy now and it has clouded over.Fan back on lol For lunch I am going to do Asparagus that has just gone out of date and is getting a bit floppy.I'll wrap parma ham around and a little olive oil and black pepper and pop in the oven .A nice bit of Mediterranean bread to go with it. We never had anything like that when I was young.I don't think I had asparagus until I was in my 30's.It is one of those things I never liked ,but now love, like Olives.
Where is everyone today?????I reckon Frank and Ros must have gone to Conrads.

Afternoon all,
Nice and sunny here , got a few jobs done , now having a rest ready for all the walking round the zoo tomorrow !!
Mel, i hate to see hubby on a ladder and on a roof ,he doesn't hold on , but its some thing he's done all his working life so he's use to it , i keep telling him it was ok when he was younger ,but he's older now and has two artifical hips !!! but does he listen ....NO
Poor old Chester , i notice Toby has slowed down too when we walk him , he falls asleep as soon as we get in , he also sleeps a lot more during the day too.
Bells are ringing .... must be a wedding .
Frank must be away , will do them both good to have a nice rest .

Afternoon All,
I was going out with my camera while OH is at the match, but it's gone dull and cloudy now. :-S
Mel, it sounds like you have been in the wars! Those rose thorns can hurt for a few days after and the climbers seem to have more of them. I see you get the same jobs as I always have......up steps holding sheeting now. I hate the ones where they tell you to hold something straight then swing a great sledge hammer at it, inches from your fingers!!! OH is never keen when I say 'you hold it and I'll swing the hammer'!! lol I bet the garage is beginning to look very different and very smart now. Look forward to seeing the pics when you take them.
Poor old Chester Jane, I know how he feels. :-) I hate doing those kinds of alterations.......I must have a few things that need a tuck here and there. It would help if your bite guard didn't rub......it may be what wakes you so you take it out.
Mandy. I find eating out very addictive!! lol It has got worse since OH retired, but it is so nice to go home and not have to cook. Make the most of it. I looked at that Lilliput cottage, isn't it sweet and such an incredible bargain too!!
I had my free taster session papers come today, so am looking forward to them, except the painting and drawing one.......just don't know what to expect and I know my hand will shake!!!
Think I will pop out now anyway........just wait, it will be bound to rain!!
Meant to say, that is a lovely pic of you Kim. BBL

Good Morning to one and all Another sunny day here.I will make the most of it this morning as it may well go downhill later. Chris is out with Chester.Poor old thing can't go as far these days.(Chester that is not Chris ) ;-) ;-)I think Chris will do one of his long walks alone when we are on holiday. Hope you are all well today.Off for a cup of coffee and a little needlework :-PI hate it.But I just need to see if I can put a few stitches in that top I bought the other day just so it doesn't keep slipping too low and being totally indecent. Morning all,
It was a beautiful day yesterday and oh got the rest of the roof on the garage. Think there might just be one more panel to go on. I had to help hold some of the tin up while oh got up on the roof at the end. These panels are shorter on the back and steeper so they woud'nt stay up on their own. I was so frightened he would fall off as he was only standing on two by three pieces of wood and he is not a light or small man. Once the ladder slipped and I gasped, he told me he would'nt fall off the ladder and then later said "what is a man of 58 doing up here on a roof?" and said he was getting too old for this kind of thing. I must take some more pics as I have'nt done any lately.
Then I went up the border and did some dead heading and released the big climbing rose from up the wall as I could'nt reach it where it was. Managed to tie one bit up but the biggest branch came and hit me and a big thorn went straight in the knuckle on my right hand. You must know how that feels when a rose prickles you and the pain afterwards. Well I can hardly bend that finger today. It is hampering typing. Also have that pain in my left foot underneath like I have jumped down and landed on a large stone and bruised the underneath. Am hobbling around like an old lady :-(
Anyway enough of me, I wonder where our Frank is?
Oh and by the way it is raining today and dull after yesterdays summer day.
