Jane I hope today will be a memorable and very happy one for James and your family. Don't forget some photos!
Maureen, Huntsmen are not dangerous, just scary looking and very hairy. He can stay up in his corner, as along as he doesn't get the wanders and come down to my bedroom. Too sick to get on here yesterday - really long day with the doctor and then the trip home.
Mandy I mentioned that operation to my doctor. He knew about it and said it was one of those terrible medical procedures that never worked; that it caused more harm than good. Your poor SIL!!! He has prescribed patches for me to try. I put one on my wrist to stimulate circulation down through the fingers and if that works to then try the other wrist. I'm happy to try anything at this point.
Frank we used to put the dog's food at the back door and the wasps used to gather for a feast. It was dangerous as she got stung one day and had an allergic reaction. Had to feed her inside from then onwards. Poor old Zoe!! I will have to get into action and sort these books out for sale on e-Bay.
Pat hope you're feeling better and have less pain in the muscles. Things moving along well now, watch out for that plaster :-D
Shirl have a good day at Ottawa. Hope you find something nice at IKEA.
Hi to everyone I have not mentioned. It is a horrid day here, huge wind gusts and torrential rain. Good day to be inside!!
Off for a cuppa and the news. Lots going on with Rupert Murdoch and his lot. I do like your PM very much; seems to have some character. Yes, I know we can't have him :-P :-P
Have a good day everyone. Kim 5.20pm EST

David I hope your move goes ok on Thursday....At least you are not living in the house at the moment with all your work going on...
Jane hope all goes well today for James..Enjoy the moment,,I have done this twice myself with 2 of mine... Seeing you like cleaning lol can you do mine for me please..The dust is everywhere and I also have cobwebs on my lights..,.Im trying to keep up with it but the work is ongoing..
Liz.....When we moved into this house we were in a rented flat..Handed our notice in and then there was a delay of a week on the move.
When my parents died it took nearly a year to sell their bungalow so we had to keep the insurances up on it... at least it was sold as unoccupied. That was stressful as well...
My last day at school today...so I wont panic if the workmen dont arrive before I leave. Im away Sat and havent even thought what to take on Holiday,,,I will be rushing around frid like a blue ar~e fly..
When the work is all done I will send photos of the completed work lol...
Maureen after the holidays I will try and find the photo I have of my bother and I on the donkey...You two could be our doubles...
Frank you are busy with your veg garden...My dad used to grow veg..I used to like picking and shelling the peas one for me two for the pot lol
Catch you all later..

Today the carpet and underlay was fitted by 3 men They have done an excellent job. Pity they didnt take away all the scraps and pieces with them. Cost me £250 cash for their services whic included all the grippers and plates. The carpet cost £1308.00
Started moving bags over in the car. The removal men are booked for Thursday, costing £300 Despite having given loads of stuff awayy to charity shops and neighbours etc there's still a lot to give away.
All this rain is making new gardens grass grow fast. Will have to buy a lawn mower or pay some one to do it on a regular basis.

That was lucky that you managed to finish your BBQ before it rained Mandy. It's been dry all day here but didn't look as if it would be. Supposed to be dry tomorrow too so I think I'll put the washer on.
That's good finding a boot sale in the week.....they are all at weekends and bank holidays around here. I bet Chelsea yelled and will keep her fingers away from bike chains after that......poor little mite, it must be very painful.
Pat I'm glad a lot of the work will be done before your holiday......be much better to come home to won't it.
I didn't know wasps ate chicken Frank. Good job Ros got it........would have been telling all it's friends where to lunch!

I'm popping in to say goodnight going for a bath and off to bed with my book I have been filling in all my burial details I got from the library this morning and have found a marriage certificate on Scotlands people that I have been looking for the last 2 years,I didn't know if this woman had married or not and could not find a death for her either. so she did marry in1866, so I will need to look through the census's on Ancestry and see where she is,
Hope Jane & Family have a lovely day tomorrow hope it stays dry for them. catch up tomorrow, not sure if I will be meeting up with the usual group for coffee, I am expecting a phone call from someone who is comeing to see about a new garden fence, he said he would phone and let me know what time he was comimg.
night night all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx :-D :-D

Evening everyone,
It's a lovely evening here now after we had heavy showers earlier . Had the family here for tea ,we had a BBQ ,hubby just managed to finish cooking before the heavens opened up !!
I hope Jane has remembered every thing for tomorrow , including the big box of tissues !!!
David i'am sure Ellen will feel happier once she's got all her things in your new place , there's so much to sort out with moving , not long now !!
Fancy a wasp eating chicken !!! just shows what a good cook you are Frank lol
Pat, it sounds as if your kitchen is really coming on now , can we have a photo when its all done ? You'll be ready for your holiday , will be nice to get away from it all.
Off to a car boot tomorrow if the weathers fine .
Just before the little ones left Jake was playing with his bike ,twisting the peddles round and Chelsea caught her fingers in the chain , poor little girl did cry , i think she will have a black and blue finger tomorrow !!

Hi All...
Just read your news briefly..
Today I wasent dressed when the first workman arrived. I had got up once and had taken acup of tea back to bed..
Was only expecting the Tiler today.l.. Decorator came in to do the ceilings and make good the walls that the wallpaper had been stripped off in the kitchen... The tiler arrived just before I left for work or the decorator would have had to let him in......Comming on slowly now but looking good. Tomorrow I have a plasterer to replaster.. the bathroom walls which are looking very dangerous at the moment,,,Big peices are just hanging on by a thread.. I am so tired I am just going to have a bath then get in my Pjs and watch tv in bed with a glass of wine...I wont be in the bath long dont want to be hit by dropping plaster.
Catch you all tomorrow....Goodnight

Ros is clearing up in the kitchen, and came in the lounge with a WASP in the dish cloth. As she was wiping down the cutting board, this little bugge# came down and picked up a piece of chicken nearly half it's own size, and flew up onto the window, where she managed to get it in the cloth. Neither she or I have ever seen or heard of that before in our lives :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

just remembered i spoke to our shirl. this afternoon. She's well. She was going on about her runner beans and tomato's 4 beans 2 tomato's. When I told her about mine, she said "Go stuff them up your nose" I know what she was going to say, but to much of a lady. lol lol
She's of the Ontario tomorrow with youngest son Mark, she wants to see the IKEA store. They have two in Canada the other is in Toronto.
The weather out there at the moment is in the 30s. with a warning of heavy rain and hail stones. Whereever you are in this world, the weather seems very changeable. Maureen. You should up your starting price. One book I sold today was retailing at £12.99. I bought it new for. £4.99. and sold it for £6.50 plus P and P. As Mr Punch would say. "Thats thre way to do it" :-D :-D :-D

Well done Frank, you do seem to have success with E.Bay, I've sold a few things but they never go for as much as I was hoping and then there's all the palaver of getting to the post office, I don't bother anymore.
Have got to take the ironing back in a minute. Shall be dogding in and out of the showers.
Hope you are okay Kim, haven't seen you on here for a while, same goes for Sheila and Shirl.

You have beed busy chatting. Glad to see you are all allright.
After I got dinner ready for tonight I decided to feed all the tomato's, peppers, courgettes, cuecumbers. Used another pot of feed. Picked some more runner beans. The sun was out, which gave me the opportunity to cut the lawns. A friend down the road, came and picked up all the tree branch's and took them over the allotment tip.(an old iron ore excavation) that saved me hours of walking back and forth.with the barrow.
Conrad and Jan called this afternoon, I dug the first root of potato's for them to take home. There were quite a few, and some getting big. Will have to start to dig them on a regular basis, or the will get to big, we like them small.
Have sold four books on Ebay. still got five more on there. Bit of pocket money, for Ros to spend on rings and things on Ebay. :-D :-D :-D

No Ann, it's not the place we looked at earlier on, that was under offer when we got our new buyer, which I was glad about 'cos I simply didn't want to go there. Ian was keen, but not me!!! The place we're (hopefully!) going to at the end of all this, is about 10 miles from Chippenham in Wiltshire. It has everything we want in the way of workshop space, Merlin accomodation(!) and a bungalow for us, which we are hoping to pull down and replace with a Log Chalet! We have always wanted one of these from way back, and never had the opportunity to build one (better late than never at our age!) but that is our plan, easy to keep in our old age, and whats more important easy and cheaper to heat!!! we shall see, after all this performance we shall be too knackered to do anything!! As you say though, no HIPS thank goodness! Am off to start those burghers!!!

That was good, finding the info you needed Fiona. I know what you mean about those machines being awkward!! All the parish records at our Records office are all on microfiche and it takes me ages. I always seem to turn things or knobs/sliders the wrong way and then have lost my place to carry on from!
That's very true Maureen about keeping on looking again on line.......they are always putting new stuff on. I had a bit of success this week and found a photo on line of my grandfather's older brother b1862. It made me smile as he had the same thick moustache combed straight down to the lip and had a waistcoat on with pocket watch chain showing!! lol
Very best wishes for your move on Thursday David, I hope it doesn't rain for you and that nothing gets damaged. You will be fine once you are there.

Ann ..... Help ..... you're pretty good on the computer. I've gone on to microsoft word to type a letter and it keeps giving me double spacing, so instead of one line of typing and then another straight under it, it gives a double space. I can't seem to find anything to stop it..... any ideas .....

Afternoon All,
Nice and sunny here now. We have had a good morning in the garden, OH weeding and me 'rocking'. lol He took a fence panel out of the bottom fence and cut all the brambles lower so we can see into the field again. He had to go up the close and into the field to cut some as he couldn't reach across, even with steps. He says there are plenty of bunny droppings near the fence and where the rabbit hole is. I just hope they don't start popping up in our garden!!!
Liz, where will you move to if this sale goes ahead? Will it be to the place you originally intended going? It sounds as if the current people are really keen if they are getting down to the nitty gritty so to speak so maybe it will go through ok this time. I hope so for your sake!!! At least you didn't have to have one of those Home Information Packs done.......I can imagine those leading to many more questions!!
I hope Jane has remembered everything. She will be a proud mum with a tissue to her eye I think! :-D

We must have everybody's rain here, it's been coming down on and off all day. Is this the middle of July ????
Lots going on this week. Hope you have a great time Jane and fingers crossed your move goes without a hitch David. Once you get all your familiar things in I'm sure Ellen will feel more at home.
I hope you find lots of dead bodies Fiona :-D :-D :-D I haven't done any research for ages, once you hit that 'brick wall' it's hard to move it on. I do have it down as one of my winter hobbies and I'm thinking maybe after leaving it for a long time there might be some new information on line.
Ros is really going through it at the moment Frank, and it must be really hard for you seeing her suffer and not being able to stop it but you are doing an amazing job just taking care of everyday things like meals and ironing and gardening.

Afternoon All rain came but only a small shower,
Got to the reference library and someone was already using the same disc i was looking for. but the library woman kindly got the old Microfishe out for me. that was hard work,I had forgotten how to use one of those things it's been a long time since I was on one of those machines, the old records are not in alphabetical order like the disk and it was a long haul winding on & and on till I found the year & name I was looking for and the writing wasn't very clear anyway I struggled on for 1/2 hour, then the other lady was finished and I managed to get on to the computer and it took me 20 mins to find the names of my ancestors and their burial dates and addresses, thankgoodness :-)
Have a good trip Jane, hope the Graduation goes to plan, you will feel one hell of of a proud mum I did when it was daughter no 2 Graduation ceremony
back to my family history work BBL
