Oh there is William!.Where do you live William? You may have said but I missed it.
I was thinking on Sunday what we used to do on a Sunday.
Sunday School for me and my sister under protest. Then Roast Dinner at I 'clock sharp.Woe betide if we were late.In the afternoons it was either a family walk, again under protest from me and Janice.A drive up on to the Moors maybe with a picnic tea or if the weather no good enough just an icecream from the van .Always a 99 for me.Or it would be visiting Mum and Dads friends.BORING!!.
I always took myself off to inspect the toilet and would report to Mum (to her embarrassment)that it was nice and clean lolol.I don't know why I did that.
But then it was the child's place to embarrass the parents.
My mum always told me about the time on the bus when I asked her why there were Penguins on there.(in a loud voice). They were Nuns ;-) ;-)

I think everyone must have gone on holiday Frank :-S
Am waiting for this chap to come for the Washing Machine. As long as he has the ready freddies !!.James is allowed a little cut for setting it all up on the pooter. What about me???? :-( :-(
It's really warm now.Fan back on.
They are busy in the field across the road Harvesting and baling .There is a constant drone of the machinery .I love watching them.

No Pat today?Maybe she has had enough and packed her bags and left home lol.
I hope Maureen soon gets her pooter fixed. And no Sheila either.I do hope she hasn't been troubled with the rioting in Birmingham.I'm not sure how far she is from the centre.
Easy dinner tonight .Ready to cook Lasagne and runner beans ,and carrots.
Pudding is something very sickly from M&* Can't remember what it is though.
I am stung all up my arms from weeding nettles.Don't they throb for ages :-S :-S

Afternoon all! (Best Dixon of Dock Green vice).

Frank,it was Patricia Hayes I think who was with Arthur Haynes. And Mel, Max Wall was hilarious - and similar was Billy Dainty. My wife has gone mad buying fruit, I think she believes she's a wasp at this time of year! Maybe she'll turn into Carmen Miranda!!!

It's hard to belive that one incident in London could spark off National lunacy. We just visited a small shopping area on the outskirts of Coventry this morning and there it was. The RSPCA charity shop had the door totally destroyed, the huge plate glass windows damaged so they will have to be replaced, mindless. They didn't steal anything, just trashed the place. The only other premises affected was the bookies, where they smshed the door and windows. I overhead a member of staff on the phone in one of the other charity shops on the phone. It seems like other shops in the Coventry area had also been targeted. Two Community policewomen were going round all the shops to warn them to be on the alert. And we worry about other countries?

Yes, water cannons, I agree. All I heard last night and today was emergency vehicle sirens, because the main dispatch police station is nearby.

Let's go back to our memories, it's less harrowing than living in the present.

Off back to my family tree folks. Catch you later

I'm here Frank.Just picked another load of tomatoes. My runners should be ready to pick later this week.Yippee!!!!!!!!

Hannah is back at her place,They had an email at work to say Go Home Now.She thinks they have left the computers on .They just left immediately.Hannah was concerned that the tube might be closed, but it was ok.She actually said she felt quite scared as there are groups begining to gather again. She knows that at least a couple of her clients have been arrested, and others haven't turned up for their scripts for Methadone.
I think her expression was she was Bricking it !!!!.I know I would be too.
Hopefully she will relax for the rest of the afternoon out in the garden in the sunshine
I think Ros will feel happier at home Frank just now.As you say she can do as she pleases.Hopefully she will have something to eat today.

I think I am going to go and put something a bit cooler on and do some weeding. So BBL

Washing all dried, and towels tumble dried, smell nice from one of those sheets, you put in. !!!

Just posted a letter for Ros to her Godmother in the I.O.M. bben out there for about 40 years. Tax haven in those days.

Turned out to be a nice sunny afternoon, the breeze helps to keep it cool. Everything seems to be drying out in this wind, so watering tonight.

Conrad wants us to go up to Rutland for a few days, but as Ros is at present, the best place for her is at home. She can do as she pleases without offending anyone, and hasn't any stairs to worry about.

Where are you all this afternoon, shopping, cleaning, or just sitting in the sun.

Frank

Frank Report 9 Aug 2011 12:46

Max Wall, That's him Mel, my old brain can see things, but can't put names to them. :-D :-D Glad everything is ready for your "Holiday Makers" How long to they stay???

So pleased that Hannah is safe and sound. I did laugh at James's remark. my sence of humour.

Have got a coloureds wash on the line and the towels in the machine, they will go in the tumble dryer. Madam, won't put them on the line, she says they dry hard. !!!! Who an I to say :-( :-( :-(

Still no good news to report on the Ros side of things. Nothing to eat yesterday, and only a cup of tea so far today.

I decided to roast a small chicken, she can have it Hot or cold with Salad or hot veg. Have tried her on Jelly, rice, tapioca, custard Have bought plenty of fruit juices, so she got plenty to choose from.

Liz, what a performance. Flood risk and half mile from the river. It's like saying we will have flooding from the Grand Union Canal. :-D :-D :-D :-D
What the devil do these insurance companies get there information from,.
I was not saying we would want these Bastar## to defend our country Liz, but it would be a way of setting them some disipline. I really don't know what's happened to our lovely Country in the passed 30/40 years. NO RESPECT FOR MAN NOR BEAST. I agree will Ian, and I would be the first in line to do the deed. SCUM SCUM SCUM.

Kim, I am pleased you are getting some results from your Ebay efforts. Who knows. "Tomorrow we might be Millionaires" DEL BOY TROTTER.

Morning All,

Caravan all dried out and both beds made up so they can choose which they want to sleep in. I am still busy.

What about Max Wall he did a backwards dance in those funny tight trousers. My dad always called me if he was on the telly.

Just have to have a shower and clean the table in the kitchen. Have'nt caught up with all your posts yet.

Suns out with a bit of a wind up but at least it's dry.

Jane

Jane Report 9 Aug 2011 10:34

Morning Kim ,Liz and all

Liz that is bad.Surely the flood risk thing should have been found in the searches(or whatever). Why is it that NOTHING these days is straight forward???Poor Ian .Hopefully it was a one off accident.Fingers crossed you have a nice drying day like here.
Kim,I think maybe once I have finished getting rid of Hannahs things I may have a dabble with my things lol.I just need to feel confident to do it on my own as James will not help me after this lot :-P :-P
Hannah called this morning to say she had got to work no problem .She said it was very noisy last night with all the helicopters, sirens etc.I think they will probably shut the centre early again today so all the staff can get home before any trouble .
.
Mel I hope you are all ready for your visitors today.

Fiona that is brilliant that you have an appointment next week.

How is Ros this morning Frank?

Must fly! things to do.BBL

Last minute Hiccup with the house!!!!! All ready to exchange, boxes packed, chaos everywhere, then a phone call yesterday morning to say that our Insurance Co won't insure our buyer because we are near a river and a Flood Risk!!! We are at least 100 yards from the river half way up a hill. Buyer not fazed, and will look for insurance elsewhere, hooray, next we hear is that HIS house is on the Flood Risk map! which would seem to now be a problem, we don't know exactly what though as no one will tell us!! Poor buyer knew absolutely NOTHING about this as he lives near Ringwood just off the A31, nearest river 1/2 mile away!! So, another sleepless night and a day of biting nails! We just can't believe that all this wasn't settled weeks ago. Poor Ian flooded the bed last night, so sheets to wash and no doubt it'll start raining - AGAIN! Sorry to be such a misery, as you all have your own worries and can do without mine!! This business in London is absolutely awful! Ian would shoot them!and hang the ringleaders! perhaps that's a bit extreme, but even liberal minded old me is beginning to take the same attitude. Frank, I don't think today's modern professional Armed Forces would want these louts; they want dedicated, fine young men and women, which they are,, not the scum of the earth. Chain gangs would seem more appropriate!! Do hope Ros is feeling a little better this am, and that Hannah is OK Jane, must be worrying for you. Will keep you all posted!!!

MEgirl Report 9 Aug 2011 07:24

Morning everyone,

Have been seeing all the televised reports of the rioting going on around London. Shocking scenes - are they the same scum moving from suburb to suburb and town inciting all this trouble??? I agree with Frank gaol is too soft for them. They need shipping off to the Middle East. Can't stand to see all that destruction going on over there and people hurt or killed. Jane I hope Hannah remains safe, love James' spin on the situation though, lol.

Frank can understand how angry you must feel. You have to stay polite because you don't want to start at the beginning again with another doctor. Makes you want to spit chips, I know. Keep the meals coming, if only for you and the cat. Ros will only eat when she feels like it. What about jelly or tapioca pudding type foods for her. Something really bland and easy to eat? You have probably tried this already I guess.

Hope Maureen is back soon. I would really miss my computer, already playing up as it is. Very old, but it will do for what I need.

Sold a book on e-Bay and some interest in my tops and a few other books. Way to go Jane, well done for selling the washing machine. I'm sure there's heaps more around the place we could sell.

Pat I can only imagine how you feel. One thing after another with this lot. Will the boss be at the job today??

Ann hope the back pain is easing.

I don't know all these people you are speaking about, but I remember Arthur Askey.

Planning the 21st at the moment (next month around 17th). That will be a challenge. Looks like over 50 at the moment, would be easy to have it catered and save some work, but the prices are through the roof!!!

Weather cool again here, temp. dropped from 25 back to 17. Raining on and off. Time for a cuppa. Bye for now. 4.22pm EST

Mandy she is in the house with the other housemates. All safe and sound I hope.I think the road she lives in is one behind the High Street so should be ok.It's just all flipping madness.I will give her a call before I go to bed.
I just watch Mr.Pastry do that dance Ann (with no partner) lolololol.I am going to watch it again now as Hannah rang just in the middle of it.Goodness me it brought back a memory .

Annx

Annx Report 8 Aug 2011 22:01

Oh yes William, Wilson, Kepple and Betty were absolutely brilliant.... ....I have to smile thinking of them!!

Richard Hearne used to dance the Lancers in a tailcoat with his imaginary partner and would twirl around and do big strides!! lol

Arthur Haynes always had his row of medals across his tramp's coat didn't he. I have never been keen on Nicholas Parsons who played opposite him.

How annoying to get a letter like that Frank. Make sure you keep your cool though, if you lose it they can do that whether you are right or not, so try to keep it polite, however you feel.

Jane, how worrying! If I were Hannah I'd keep away from the windows, just in case. I wish they could just get the fire brigade to turn water hoses on them. No respect for anyone or anything.

Oh Jane, hope Hannah will be ok , what a worry for her and for you come to that !!
Has she anyone with her ?
Trust James to make a joke of it LOL
I've been watching the news , that huge fire in the furniture shop in Croydon

Just had a call from Hannah. All she can hear are helicopters!!.Not one car moving on the road outside her place. She says everyone has taken advice to stay off the street. She held the phone out the window for me to hear the helicopters!..James made me laugh just now.He said Bl**dy Hell. She's only been in London for a few weeks and she's already started a riot !!!!!!.

Jane

Jane Report 8 Aug 2011 21:18

Oh Frank ! Keep your cool if possible. You don't want to be kicked off the books.Hopefully they will understand why you were so cross.
I am getting my knickers in a knot here watching the news channel.Things look like getting nasty near where Hannah is living.I can see me being awake tonight .The trouble seems to be spreading.I just can't understand the mentality of some people. They are destroying the areas they live in!!!!.I am on my high horse now (and a worried high horse)

I loved Mr.Pastry !with his big moustache lol.I think will go and google him and see if I can see an old clip.It will take my mind off the riots.
I liked the programme with Charlie Drake as the odd job man too.(can't think of the name of the programme). He was always hauled across that counter lol

Not sure about Tommy Trinder and the sand dance - thought that was Wilsin, Kepple and Betty.

Frank Report 8 Aug 2011 20:43

Fiona, Good news at last. Hope they find the problem.

I also liked Arthur Haynes as the tramp. With the lady tramp Patrica ?????

What a going on in London, with all these riots and stealing YOBS YOBS YOBS. Put them in the Army for two years, that would knock them into shape. I would like to be a seargeant major in charge of them. Their feet wouldn't touch the ground. When in for National Service, there was always those who thought they could break the system, OH NO THEY COULDN'T. They lernt the hard way, but enden up in line, in the end.

William

William Report 8 Aug 2011 20:23

Mr Pastry was actually Richard Hearne. He used to do that fantastic dance where he was prentending to be dancing with others. He was also associated with Fred Emney.
