Your OH is funny Sheila with his quips about Beryl. lol He is becoming a fan of Andre too by the sound of it. I think they are broadcasting his show at Maastrict by satellite on 26th July to certain Vu* cinemas. I would go only it will be the same show I saw on his tour I think.
It's good that Hannah is finding it easy to settle down in London Jane. I'm sure she could make somewhere else very nice too. What a shock that letter was.....good she got it sorted straightaway.
I didn't get my ears pierced till I was 40 and I can still remember my mother's disapproving look! She thought it was common too. It was the same with the first black bra I bought!!! I hid it for a while and washed and dried it when she was out. There used to be a kind of tut and then the 'look'. She didn't do or approve of cleavage either. 'You need a safety pin in that' she'd say, even after I was married!! lol
You have 2 great events coming up Jane. It will be lovely to see baby Ethan too. What with that, the wedding and James making you proud, you will need a whole box of tissues!
Rain is pelting down here again.......better shut some windows.

The sun is out!!.Will it last? Chris is hoping if it stays dry now he might get the lawn cut.
James is off to Kent tomorrow to see his girlfriend .We will meet them on Tuesday at the Hotel before going out for a meal.Graduation on Wednesday looks like a wet day :-S.I am really looking forward to seeing Canterbury Cathedral. Will have plenty of tissues in my handbag for when I see my 'boy' .No photos allowed to be taken in the Cathedral. But I'm sure there will be a professional photographer who will snap each Graduate .More EXPENCE Frank lol.
Now it is as black as your hat ,so I think mowing the lawn is a no no today.
When I woke this morning ,and it was dark and wet,I had this funny memory. It was just the kind of day when it would be too wet to play outside and so I would have been happy dressing up my Paper Bunty Doll .(with the fold over tabs).Sorting out what outfit to wear and which accessories lol It was weird ,as it gave me a funny feeling in my tummy.I could just picture myself as a 10/11 year old sat on my bedroom floor surrounded by Bunty's clothes. It made me feel a little emotional for a moment.Silly old fool :-D

The weathers been awful here raining all morning. Frank thank for your compliment about me on my picture with my brother I was five and he was eight and it was the days before my mum frizzed up my hair making me have a perm on something that was like a space machine plugging me up i had sores in my head I was about ten then.
That photo was taken two days before I went school for the first time i was so timid and would not say boo to a goose and on my first day at school the infant teacher took my red apple off me and put it on her desk I spent the whole morning looking at it and crying and saying I want to go home. The teacher gave it me back lunch time. But mid afternoon I had enough of school and simply walked out and hid in the toilets outside until my mum came and picked me up.The whole of the infant staff were looking for me. I was a pain. But being cute everyone made a fuss of me in the family.I was the only girl granchild. I had a pink jumper and my brother was in a blue lumber jacket. He had freckles on his face and the big version is on my wall in the lounge. My brother blew it up. Beryl said I had big eyes like a owl my hubby said now she looks like one.
I had to do the shop hubby was glued to the tv watching Andre Rieu and I had to go on the web and get the cd of him in Ireland. My ho had never heard of him and was very impressed
My friend Annie sent me some lovely flowers today to thank me for looking after her when she hurt her foot and for helping her bed the plants.
Jane what are you doing having hair coming out your chin I thought that was me I pulled a long one out and it nearly killed me. You do not look old enough love.
Well my brother might look a sweet little soul on the photo but he gets up everyones nose now he is seventy five and the paint I think was thrown for spite while he was away. However the guy said he was painting his trellis but three paint tins do not believe it.
Well will go and get ready to shop 13 miles away in Redditch Worcestershire my every Sat trip with hubby and daughter Michelle. The countryside is nice and when you live in Selly Park Birmingham you need a bit of country scenary. Nice place to eat our tea.
Beryl the peril does tell lies she said she was having an operation and all she is having is a few lines removed round her mouth. My hubby said maybe they will stitch it up whiles shes there no comment. Donnies all metal Jane his piercings are sick. I had my ears pierced in my thirties and my left ear bleeds when I put ear rings in it. Ann that was funny Franks computor bugged. but how annoying Frank I had a glass plant container it had a glass front and the flies used to go in it and I would be sitting watching tv and see flies trapped in the glass trying to get out I chucked it in the end they were walking up and down and looked bigger inside the glass it gave me the creeps. Beryl got it for me from a jumble sale it had some nice flowers I re potted them.

Quack Quack. What a morning :-S.Mind you the garden will have done well with all the rain.It looks like it could be drying up now :-D
A letter came for Hannah this morning from the Water Board.I thought it might be a cheque .Shock Horror !!! It was a letter threatening to take her to court for non Payment of Water Rates. Chris scanned it and sent it to her.She rang them up straight away and guess what."Oh sorry, that was an old letter, you will be receiving a rebate of £500 !!!! How can it be an old letter when it has just been posted????.Anyway relief all round :-D :-D Ann ,she is loving it living where she is.I think she will be very upset to leave the house at the end of August.Hopefully she will find somewhere else just as nice.
Oh Kim,your daughter and her piercing!Piercings give me the willies.(other than ears).I remember one of Hannah's friends having her Belly Button done. Her parents didn't know she was having it done.Hannah went with her ,and I got a phone call just as I was in the middle of doing a roast,to say could I get there quick as Lorraine had fainted.I got there in a right flap (still in my slippers).Lorraine was on the floor with her feet raised on a big bean bag sucking a Lollly. It was then "What am I going to tell my Mum"? She was grounded for a month lol I was never allowed to have my ears pierced.I think I was 17 or 18.Mum said it was common for children to have pierced ears and only Gypsy children had them lol.Dear Mum she was a bit of a snob :-( Mum had her ears done for the first time when she was about 50 !
I think I will have a quick bite and then do the rest of the ironing like you Mel.

So now your computer is BUGGED then Frank!! Amazing how the little blighters got in!! The rain has stopped here!! I thought I'd have a sit in the conservatory and look out and think out some of the ideas for the garden.........after 5 minutes chatterbox came in so that was the end of that! Now I've come out of there he has too. I think I need to suggest a few jobs.......he'll soon disappear then! lol I love him really, just like a toddler under your feet! lol
I looked at the home insurance about claiming for the fridgfreezer contents. We have a £100 excess and when I rang them they said a claim would have a knock on effect with future years insurance premiums like with a car so we decided it wasn't worth it. Doesn't seem much point having the cover but apparently there is no option with most insurance these days. Looks like you have to pay for it, but in a lot of circs it wouldn't be worth claiming!!!
A warning Pat.......make sure ALL the tiles are the right ones when they arrive!! When we did the en suite, the tiler collected ours and he had nearly put a wall of them on before I noticed they had a ripple effect which ours didn't!!!!! The tile place had given him some of another customer's tiles along with ours and I had only checked one box. That caused a delay while they ordered more in!!!

Morning all,
What a horrible wet morning. !!!!
Ros has gone off with Lewis to see Harry Potter. Be back about 2pm.
When I was watering the greenhouse last night. I looked at the runner beans, and thought shall I pick them now, oe wait till the morning, guess what I decided. They can wait. If it stops raining, I will go down and pick them and get a root of potatoe's for tomorrows dinner. If not will do it tomorrow.
Pat, were these builders recommemeded by the Insurance Co.??? or did you find them yourself.???? The trouble with most of them, they have three/four jobs on the go, and have to keep popping round each and do a bit. Hence everybody has to be kept waiting.
Kim, What sort of temperature do you get down to in winter ??? Hope it's not too cold for your poor hands and feet.
Mel, I am pleased to say I am up to date with washing and ironing. Will run the hoover round while she is out this morning. Then I will watch a bit of golf. Harveys mate Ian Poulter seems to have missed the cut, so he won't be pleased. !!!!
Jane, I bet it was a wet walk this morning, I suppose Chester is crashed out in his basket now. Sound asleep.., Bless :-D :-D
Has anyone got any plans for this afternoon, apart from sitting in doors. I'm not even thinking of walking down the road for a pint !!!
Yesterday I mentioned these little thunder flies. WELL two little bugger# have got under my computer screen. Last night Lewis and I watched them crawling around. This morning I have one up on the right hand side of the screen and one on the bottom left. BOTH DEAD. Will have to try to ignore them when I look at the screen. :-( :-( :-(

Morning All,
Rain, rain here too. Mel my OH doesn't have such a happy face either!! lol He thinks the match he was going to might be cancelled with all the rain. He says they don't like to 'spoil' the newly grassed pitches with friendlys........save them for the important ones. I was expecting a quiet afternoon too!! :-S
Pat, the workmen are a nightmare aren't they. I hope your holiday picks you up a bit after all the trouble you've had. I find straps on tops too long as well......have the same trouble as Jane with bras.
Your trip out sounded nice Fiona.....despite the rain. Scotland has such beautiful scenery and I have hardly seen any of it. I love little places that have those kinds of shops, makes such a change to see different things instead what the bigger stores have which is often the same as each other.
We had problems with a leaning fence next door for the first few years we lived here. It broke the points off my chimney pots and we were always propping it up. It get replacexd a couple of years ago, but they moved some of the posts out at the bottom onto our garden so the top of the fence stayed in the same place!!! We didn't like to make a fuss about it as the man next door was seriously ill.
My car insurance renewal came this morning!!! Yikes.....it has shot up this year. I will be 'shopping around' for something cheaper I think. This month has been full of EXPENSE!!! :-S :-S
Jane how is your jaw now? Is Hannah liking her temporary digs?

Morning All,
Same here rain rain and more rain :-( :-( :-(
OH is in his study with a long look on his face. He does like to be occupied.
I have ironing which will keep me occupied today and I can go up the tunnel and fiddle. I did get some canes painted yesterday so I can finish rescueing my peas, feed the toms and everything else.At last I have little runner beans coming. I hate it at first when all the flowers come and then fall off. OH said it could be too dry for them in the tunnel but I can't grow them outside because of all the bl**dy rabbits. We have'nt managed to shoot any lately with all the work we have been doing but the beasts have eaten down my lovely companulars in the border. They even eat the the flower stalks!
The little old plum tree on the south facing wall is loaded with plums and they are nearly ripe. It only has about three branches of any size and it only grew those last year. The tree must have been here years and years form the time when they had 14 plum trees on the walls.
Pat sorry to hear that the kitchen is still having problems with the workmen. You will be really pleased once they have all gone away for good and you have the kitchen finished.
My back is now a lot better as you must have gathered by now as I have been gardening again.
Still have'nt seen Phil the pheasent but have seen the other one who still comes and eats the bantam food.
Fiona OH says he knows Larnark Loch. He loves Scotland and even named a dog after Ranoch Loch. He was a Westie.
Ann thanks for the pics of the birds. The second lot reminded me of my Captain as he was an African Grey.
Jane hope the shortening of the straps works for your dress and bra :-)
David It is always a nuisance when you have to wait 6 weeks for a new suit.

Hello everyone,
Yes Pat we are bang, smack in the middle of winter here. I have lived in Melbourne and they can have terrible weather - four seasons in one day ;-) ;-)
Thank goodness you have some progress with the kitchen, life must be a little easier for you. How is your brother doing in the heat, it must make him very tired?? You are a good sister, I think :-) Well, you have a lovely holiday to look forward too and that would be the only thing that will take the sting out of all these disasters currently going on :-(
Fiona, I would love to see Scotland and do some exploring, it has always been my wish. So many places I would love to visit.
Sheila and Ann loved your photos as I have said in my emails. Great one of you and your brother Sheila!! Ann, good news that your bite is starting to clear up - wonder what is was that bit you??? Sheila I can't understand that man throwing the paint tins over the fence and how he thought he would get away with it. Some nutty people in this world :-S
Jane how is the lady and her son doing?? It's a terrible situation. Only time and lots of love and understanding to get through something like they are experiencing. :-) Jane I bet you can't wait to see Ethan, that will be a very special meeting.
Joel is back tomorrow from his trip and OH decided it would be a good time to paint his room - today!!!! It will need to dry and another coat of paint. He could have been doing this days ago, but was in the mood ;-) ;-) I have been going through the chest of drawers, chucking out old socks and undies and heaps of things that no longer fit. The garage is filling up with rubbish again :-( :-( Good I do hate clutter. Daughter (one and only) decided to visit us today. Tells me she has had something pierced, but nothing I could see, so I can only use my imagination. She'll be back tomorrow night and then we have a meeting with the school principal on Monday :-S :-S :-S
Hello to Frank and Ros, Maureen, David, Shirl, Mel, Anne (I think that covers it), sorry if I have missed anyone. Hope all is well with you. Oh and Liz.
Off to have some dinner. I won the Scrabble and had a Bailey's to help me along. That's a bottle I have nearly polished off on my own. Hope OH will buy me another in the near future.
Have a good day. 7.27 pm EST

Well I need to get to the bank to pay a Cheque in for Hannah so i better get a move on.

Morning All Thank you all for the nice comments regarding my Kitchen..
Yesterday was a pain as well....Neither workman were here by 11am. I have to leave for work at 11.45..After a lot of phonecalls and promises to ring us back the plumber arrived at 11.45 just as my husband arrived home as well..OT works to 12 on a Friday but had to get him to come home earlier.. The tiler ( who owned the firm )we were told had to order the tiles in!!!! Funny he knew 2 weeks ago and was here last Monday measuring up...Another fob off...May be here Monday or def Tuesday.
The plumber was cursing when he looked to see what he had to do..The kitchen fitters hadnt cut things out to enable to fit the pipes...He was here 2 hours...He also took out the bathroom radiator...Because the bathroom copped it as well and has to be retiled..They are taking the tiles off next week
