Fiona ,we have dodgy fence in the front garden. It is next doors but because they haven't kept the hedge and bushes cut back they are all pressing on the fence and some bits are leaning our way. They also haven't cut the things at the back and there is a bush that has nearly reached my bedroom window.
I think I will have to have a little word soon.Chris won't :-S

Now it is time to go up to Bedfordshire.Chris has already gone .He is quite stressed and upset tonight (re,collegue).I have sent him off pretty quick before he got too maudlin.
Night Night everyone xx

Hi All
I'm late coming on here today.
been out for most of the day. went to see the nurse this morning , had my routine blood test for my Kidney's. then OH & I went off for a drive to Lanark, did a bit of shopping, in the sales, then had a picnic beside Lanark Loch, Lanark is about hours drive from where we live.
weather was lovely till we got to the Loch and it started to rain so we had to have our lunch in the car.
we then drove to Bigger another little town, lots of craft shops.
was great to get away from the house for a while, got back at 3.30 as daughter no 1 & Sofia was due at 4 , daughter had to go to work.

OH has noticed that one of our garden fences had fallen over probably to do with all the wind and rain we have been having so I went next door to ask our neighbour for the phone number of the fella who put up there new fences a year ago. also since OH has been on holiday this week and spent a lot of time in the garden he is noticing what big jobs there is to do, he also has decided he wants a green house for christmas this year. the old shed he has is falling to bits too that needs replacing . everything is needed replacing all at once

FRANK HELP MORE EXPENSE!!!!!!!LOL :-D :-D

Awh! Bless the little green one.His feathers will soon grow back now he has a nice home.
I remember when Rachel(dubai) was younger just after her Mum died and she was moving around from one place to another she had an African Grey and needed someone to look after it for a while. My friend Brenda and her Hubby took it,and one night let it out of the cage to have a fly around. They had trouble catching it again and her hubby caught it and all it's tail feathers came out in his hand.Poor Brenda rang me in a terrible state .She thought Rachel would think they had mistreated it.But he was fine .Rachel was quite understanding and soon he had new ones growing.
A bout a year later it died from some infection and is buried in our garden with Rachels 2 Hamsters lol
I will be seeing little Baby Ethan in the flesh a week today.I bet I will have a few tears when I think that his real Grandma will never see him.I will give him a special hug and kiss from her.

Now I have to start dinner.I don't feel hungry yet,but I bet Chris and James will be.
It is still a lovely evening, but I must remember to get the washing in before rain arrives.

I wonder why he chucked them over the fence Sheila. Amazing what some folk do. I like your pic.......look like butter wouldn't melt in your mouth!

Mel, lifting stuff about is exhausting (rocks! lol) so I'm not surprised your good man is flaked out. Mine is too at the moment after doing the bathroom floor. lol

I tootled off to the Bird Garden while OH was at a meeting earlier and had a chuckle again at the rescue African Grey parrots. It was all the hellos and hullos in different voices and accents! A lot of the parrots are loose and can be very friendly, one put his head down for a tickle and then got on my arm and trotted up it to try and pinch my glasses! It is a very small place, but you always come away with a smile on your face. They are handrearing a few chicks which were all sat in little plastic boxes near a window where you could see them.

Frank it sounds like it will be a good time again at the Blisworth Festival. Sounds like a really big event.

It sounds like your OH is worn out Mel.he has been a busy boy hasn't he.
Hope Ros arrived home Frank and that you now have young Lewis with you.
Sheila that was bad of your Brothers neighbour chucking his paint pots over his fence. He should be made to clean up the path.

I hope all is going well at Pats today!

How it that bite today Ann?I hope you enjoy the book.I think you will.

I like the sound of your veg soup Kim,but it's too warm here for that now. It's
been quite hot again. But looks all downhill now for the weekend.'Rain" :-S
I have just been ferreting about in the potato bag on the patio and got some out for tonight, and more carrots.I think they are not looking as nice as they did.Maybe they have gone past their best now.

James 's car has passed its MOT thankgoodness.Just a small bulb needed replacing. So no big EXPENSE on that :-D :-D

I am off to the Salon at 6.30 to get my eyebrows tidied and a few whiskers whipped out lol. It's a bit late but was the only appointment I could get.
I better freshen up a bit first so BBL

Well rained stopped play with OH and his cementing. He is very quiet so think he may have thrown himself on the bed and gone to sleep. He was worn out yesterday after cleaning up a load of old bricks to go along the drive. He had done some cementing too and brought down loads of sand and cement and concrete mix and blocks that were delivered yesterday afternoon. He has finished cementing the side of our road where he has made it wider.

I painted canes this morning and have to go up the tunnel and tie up my peas as they are laying on the earth :-S

Frank hope Ros is ok out with her friend.

OH what a beauty Shelia, How old were you there.???

I sat in the garden, till I could stand it no longer, Green fly, thunder flies everywhere. Had to come in and have another shower. couldn't stop scratching, and they were all over my Ebook screen.

Ros still not back. Hope she's allright.!!!!

When I got home from Doctors she had gone out, and left the back door open, even though the back gate was locked. You can't take chances, it only takes a minute, fot these little Monkeys to get in.

Monday Evening the police arrested some "LADS" trying to break into Canal boats, moored along the tow path.Chop their Bloo## hands off. I SAY. They won't do it again. and might deter other tea leaves. !!!!

Hi everyone how are you all today ok I hope.
Kim fingerless gloves are useful you can do things and still keep your hands comfy and warm thats what my gloves were when I blew them up in the mocrowave fingerless the fingures had stuck to the top of the microwave and it ruined it.

Scrabble is our favourite household game .I play with April but her spelling is not very good and she cheats.I just play along with her.
Jess seems to have stopped her ringing so much now on the phone I think April ran up some big bills. I found some lovely family photoes will try to send them. Some of me in my childhood days with my brother. What a cute little sole he was then. He was round my brother today in his old Austin eight car. He had it painted bright yellow. All the neighbours were out looking at it. I managed to bang into it with a beer crate because he left it right by the front of the shop and he went beserk no damage done just my feelings hurt he was so rude.I told him I had work not go on six holidays a year like her does. However his Australian hol was cancelled
but he had been away four times .

Pat I remember when my floor was tiled it was awful I went out and the man who was polish tiled the whole floor area in a most awful filler it was
dark grey and it ruined the tiles. We had to get a solicitor to sue him and he agreed to do the floor again in white filler it was ok after. But when I got home from shopping on a very wet snowy day there was my horror a floor I paid a fortune to have done looking awful. I sat down and cried and when the man returned I was not very nice.
He did not seem to know what he had done wrong and said well its done now cannot change it. I said I wont pay you intil its put right
I went into the doctors my sugar is back to normal and I can give up my
tablets in a months time. I was pleased. But my heart was a bit bad not anything serious and my colostrol had gone up excuse spelling. I can talk about April .

My mum was a expert at the black bottom and charleston. Mum loved dancing and once dressed up when she was in her fifties in a lovely beaded dress drop waste and band round her head with a feather sticking out and these pointed shoes and some really swingy beads long
round her neck and a ciggy holder to go with it. She and my auntie Maude
got first prize doing the Black Bottom.Rag.

Kim that cold wet weather would not do those hands much good I always amagined Australia with boiling hot sun.But my nephew in Melbourne said they have bad weather and it rains a lot.
Did I say I love Wombats and Koala bears. I have them all over my craft room wall they go on lots of cards. My cards are at last ready to go out and sold some to the local shop yeaterday. We do not have a post office round here anymore and I have to go a long way to post things and the post office is packed out with people getting benifits. i suggested they should get a line just for stamps and low and behold they did. I popped my suggestion in a box.

Well brother is asking me to ask my daughter who is the solicitor what he can do about the next door neighbour the man is indian and he threw some old paint containers over my brother fence and it went all over his
garden path and coloured it bright red. my brother was away at the time.
I had better go and weather the storm not happy after he went off at me about his car. its right over the area by the door my ho will moan when he gets back so I will ask him ro remove it.

Have a nice day everyone. mel have a nice day have printed out some fairies for you.Your card is addressed and dont faint will be with you soon addressed it today but had mislaid the address so searched for hours.

Morning all, Just again.

Up early 7.am pottered around, had breakfast and shower. Cleaned out the salad draws in the fridge, the stuff in there that has "TURNED" cleared it out and washed the draws.

Been up to the Doctors with my sample, and meet and old pal in the village. We stood taking for a good half hour. Nice change from talking to myself ;-) ;-)

The old building in the photo is known locally as the "SPICE MILL" been there for ever. They blended spices there for donkey years. In the 90s the owners moved to new premises on the Industrial Estate outside Northampton. The mill was converted into Canal side Flats. They are for ever changing hands. I've never been inside, so don't know why people don't stay long.Might be too small, certainly not the noise.!!!!

Shorts on, ready for the garden to read. I hope I can keep those Bloo## thunder flies of me. They drive you mad :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Ros's friend Carolyne has called to take her to Tesc# to get a bit of shopping. It will get her out for a couple of hours.

We pick Lewis up at 4.15 at his house, and Harvey and Julia will come for dinner Sunday to pick him up. They (Lewis and Julia) are off to France Thursday for four weeks. Harvey will drive down the end of the following week for a couple of weeks. He can't afford to have a month off, being Self Employed.

The next big event in the village is 6/7th August. The Blisworth Festival.
Live bands, all weekend, Pig roast. Canal boats with all the wares. Cheese, spices, libary books, Boat rides,Wood carving Rope and fender makers, owl display, RSPB. gifts, BEER TENTS. Providing the weather is good ,we had over 10,000 people last year. It first started when we celebrated the rr-opening on the tunnel, and I was dressed as the postman of the time it was built.

Morning All,

Sunny and bright at the moment, so probably an hour in the garden first. Mel, you certainly had your work cut out clearing around your shed. Had to smile at the thought of you nailing planks on while others were falling off!!

Thank you Mandy/Jane......the book came this morning....it looks good!

What a pain Pat. These workers are not reliable are they. I hope today is better......I couldn't do with them being there till 9.45pm!!!

That's good that Ros is eating better again Frank. Now it is you pushing your plate away!

Clever you Shirl! I must have a read of that.

I have a recording of The Black Bottom, by the Pasadena Roof Orchestra. lol I love those fringed dresses, long beads and the bobbed hairdos from that time.

Kim, I'm a fan of Scrabble, but I'm too slow deciding for OH! I have to be quick now or he won't play!! lol Good that you did a bit on your treadmill.

Hello everyone,

Pat what a dreadful day for you and a LONG one. You must have been exhausted at the end of it all. Good that it was finally finished, so the rest isn't held up; nearly there..... hang on :-)

Sheila, that reminds me I have got some fingerless gloves somewhere, but I think my daughter might have them. Could be anywhere in her room!!! If I enter, I might never be found again, lol :-P :-P

Frank thanks for the pics. It looks very pretty around your area. How far do you usually walk? Reminds a bit of Warburton and the tracks along the Yarra River. Lovely old building - what is it used for????

Another cold, rainy day here. Washing hanging in the garage to dry. I did have 10 minutes on the treadmill today, hadn't been on for a few days. Didn't exhaust myself this time. Had a lovely Steak Diane last night and tonight there's a big pot of veggie soup simmering away.

Must be due for a game of Scrabble tonight with the old boy. Might have a port too.

Off to have dinner. Have a good day all. 6.33 pm EST

Morning All,

Ache today as I was clearing round my old shed in the orchard. A big Hebe died in the winter and it had a clemetis growing over it. this was a cutting mum took so I did'nt want to knock it off and loose it. Anyway managed to get it sorted and dig the big stump out. Had to get an axe in the end to chop the big roots off as I could'nt get the loppers round the roots. Also got some ivy off and out of the ground where it had run into the grass and dug out many brimbles which had run along and replanted themselves her e and there. Then carried on round the shed got the ivy off and knocking the planks of wood off the front as they are so rotten. OH said it is'nt worth saving and he wants to pull it down but I like my old shed :-( Once again some glass from the front has fallen out too!! He said while I was nailing some wood back on in one place others were falling off the other side. Well I still like my old shed.........

Pat I do hope everyone turns up to do their work on your kitchen today. Am thinking of you.

Frank and Ann thanks for the pics. Your walk looked lovely Frank. Ann that house is very tidy looking. Wish my garden was as tidy as that.

My nan told me she did the Black Bottom when she was young!

Must wter the tunnel today as I only turned the tank on on the toms yesterday and did a bit of hand watering and I have peas in there which need to be supported!

Is a womans work ever done?????? :-S

Morning All

I have been up since 6.30 this morning..I dont know what time the tilers or the plumber is coming.

Yesterday afternoon was very stressful for me here. The kitchen fitter left the floor man here at 7 am then had to go elsewhere..Said he would be back after lunch...when i came home from work a lot of the floor needed doing and one of the floor units needed a slight adjustment before the flooring c ould be put down in that area.. I knew the tiler and plumber was comming today and that their work had to be finished that day. They were off somewhere else today....By 3 oclock he wasent back and I was climbing the walls...so rang OH ..He did a lot of ringing around and then came home home a bit earlier..By 4 the man was still not back...
They were both Portugese the one left with me not knowing a lot of English.
The other man arrived just after 4,30.....They were told by their boss to finish the job tonight or come back ther next day....They left here at 9.45 pm..
