The Argentine Tango is my favourite too Maureen.....I love all those leg flicks and sharp moves and the dresses and hairstyles! They are joined by 10 of the finest Tango dancers in the world so I think it will be really good. This is a film of the show but the show itself is running in the West End in January. I bet there will be a dvd later. OH said he feels a bit 'iffy' so has lain down for a bit......so I might be going on my own!!
Mandy I wiped the conservatory sills inside yesterday.......Ohhh you should 'ave seen the muck!! Was it Larry Grayson that said that? I really need to pull the bed out and clean under it.......goodness know what I will find under there!! lol
I think I like April's version of the baby's name......half past seven!! lol The things children say!! lol I bet that is what the baby will be called in the playground though!
At last they have got cracking on your kitchen Pat! What colour units have you had?
Mel, how posh having your 'own' Pheasants. I hope Phil is ok. I know from keeping canaries in the past that birds can feel under the weather when they are moulting, maybe he is keeping hidden for a few days. It sounds like you are widening your drive? Quite a big job .......I remember how long it is! That is a good idea, mixing colour in the cement to blend it with the tarmac.

Oooh Ann, I am so jealous, that show sounds right up my street. I guess they will be doing the Argentine Tango, it's my favourite dance to watch.
I didn't even know Victoria Beckham was pregnant, she must be very happy to have a baby girl. All these celebrity children grow up in their own little world so all their peers will have weird names as well.
I'm glad I'm not the only one Mandy, I thought Kim was talking about real monkeys too ....lol

Thank you Sheila. I thought the family history ay Coughton was very interesting, the house is very old and a few of them 'lost' their heads!!
The bite is no bigger but where the sting/bite was is a bit blistery looking now and the whole area has gone hot and itches like hell!!! I wore shorter trousers to the cinema this morning to keep it a bit cooler and stop it itching. The onion rememdy is interesting Frank, if not very sociable. I would be like those monkeys that rub onions and garlic into their fur!! lol The film we saw was Fair Game, more OH's type of film but I quite enjoyed it. Tonight we are going to see Midnight Tango with Flavia and Vincent from Strictly. They are doing sell out shows at the moment and tonight the show is being filmed and beamed to certain cinemas. That will be more my cup of tea than OH's!

Afternoon everyone,
It's a lot cooler here today ,and the wind seems to be picking too.
Kim, my SIL had Raynauds ,she was hubby's older sister ,she died several years ago now , her fingers and toes would go blue and numb with the cold , when she was younger she had a big operation where she was cut right round from the front of her body to the back ,and on both sides of her body !! didn't seem to help her much she still suffered badly , she use to have blue fingers even on a hot day .
When you said there were four monkeys in the street ,i had a vision of four Monkeys !!!!!!!! :-D i thought they don't have monkeys roaming the streets in Australia !! LOL
Ann, that bite sounds nasty , keep on eye on it ,my niece got bitten last year on the front of her leg ,she had to have it dressed each day by the nurse it was so bad ,she still doesn't know what bit her , but it did look nasty, it was one huge blister .
Frank, it's good that you can cook and tempt Ros into eating some thing, i hope things can soon be sorted out for her . How come they are blaming you for pressing the order button twice !!! Why didn't they didn't send two washing machines then !!! where's the other one gone to if you pressed it twice !!!
I've had a good turn out in the lounge this morning , my goodness the dust !!! you could grow spuds in it LOL Might set about the conservatory this afternoon . I'll just have a coffee first .

I just realised I have not said Hello yet today.....hello! So much for me not going out today.James shoes arrived this morning and when he tried them on with his suit we realised that the trousers needed to be shortened a bit.So I rang the dry cleaners and pleaded with them to get them done by Tuesday, which is the day we go to Canterbury .They have promised they will be ready to pick up as soon as they open. What a relief! So I have trekked in with them done a few other things and have not been home long :-( :-( I really must get on now .So I will shut the pooter down so I'm not tempted lol

Morning all, JUST 11.53am
Have sent Ros down to her friensd for the morning, Scouts get together, what to do next to raise more money.
When she went 10.15am I got the ironing board out and did the ironing. We changed the bed this morning and got the sheets, pillowcases washed and on the line, I have now got them in, all ironed and folded. Put over the airer in the conservatory. She will have nothing to worry about when she gets back.
I would like Bubble and squeak, but not sure Ros would. I managed to tempt her to Egg on toast with a few Baked beans about 8.30 last night. I ended up with chicken and cranberry sauce sandwhich.
Have spoken with the doctor about my latest blood tests. Everything is fine, he just needs a wee sample. I couldn't give him that over the phone :-D :-D :-D :-D So will have to go and get a bottle. !!!!
Just got confirmation from Tesc# that one of the Washing machine debits,is being cancelled. They say I could have pressed the order button twice. TRUST ME !!!!
Ann, the trouble with these bits, is you don't know what it is, and how to treat them. An old grannies remedy was to cut an onion in half and rub that on the sting. I know it works on hornet stings.
Kim, Those hand warmers are great. The charcoal ones are a bit of a to do to use. but the others that you "SNAP" to give of the heat are great to use, and keep their warmth for some time. My DIL uses them in the winter, when watching Lewis play football, Yor then boil them in water and they are ready for next time. Just what you could do with. !!!
Pat, You won't know if you are coming or going, when you get back to normal, Let us all know when the house warming party is !!!!
Trust everyone is well, and thanks for your concern about Ros. It is apprieciated.

Morning Pat and All and Evenign Kim,
Dull this morning and quite cold for the time of year. OH woke me up at 7am digging up the rest of the earth off the road. He said it was going to rain today and did'nt want it all washing down here. So that is all tidy now and I must admit it does look better, so far :-( What it will look like when he cements the sides I have no idea but it has been like that before. We have bought a pot of black colour to put in the cement so it will tone in with what tarmac is left on the driveway.
Phil the pheasent got out the box hedge yesterday but I have'nt seen him since. I do hope he is ok and that I see him today. He has lost all his tail feathers at the moment through ,oulting and usually hides away till they have started to gro again. I did'nt see the female one yesterday who has the five babies either. She usually comes and eats from the bantam houses and comes to me when I call her and give her some corn.
Frank I do hope Ros feels better today and they can find out why she is in such pain. Give her my ragards and tell her I am thinking positive thoughts for her.
Pat so glad your kitchen is making progress at last. What are workmen like having a lunchbreak when they were already late for the job. They should have just snatched a bite to eat.
Kim you need one of those handwarmers that you put a charcoal bar inside. Men use them when shooting in cold weather etc. I have one that my son had. You find them in sporting shops over here but you should be able to get one on the net. They also do these heating pads that have chemicals in them which you bend and they warm up. Then when they are cold you boil them for a while and start all over again.
Ann sorry to hear about your bite. I had a very strange on a while ago that came up in a huge blister. OH said it looked like a spider bite. This was very red about an inch and a half around the blister which was nearly half an inch across. Went to the docs with it but he did'nt seem to be very interested. Hope yours feels better today.
Love to Sheila.

Pat glad you are happy with the work on the kitchen so far. It all sounds very nice and I like your colour scheme - taking shape at long last :-) :-)
I like Knock Up Ginger, lol and yes we did the same thing, but taking mail - not good. We have let the neighbours know and they are on the look out. We do try to keep an eye on things in the street and look out for one another. Of course, when something different happens or strangers are around, then most of us are on alert.
Have a good day :-)

Good Evening Kim
Morning to the Uk...
Thank you all for the remarks about my kitchen <3
Kim I do like to hear what is happening your way.. ..We didnt steal when we were little but did enjoy playing Knock Up Ginger..( knocking on peoples doors and running away lol )
I have been up since 6.30 this morning...too early for me...One fitter arrived at 7 ....Have his boss arriving at 9... Kitchen looks nice so far what they have done... Have to choose some paint colours today..I have an idea.....As it is a kitchen diner they have to paint all the walls...We have pine boards around the bottom half of the dining room part..which at the moment are blue..Im thinking of a neutral colour on the top and a reddish brown colour on the boards...Most of the kitchen will be tiled.I will send this incase I lose it

Hello everyone,
It is a bleak, cold day here. Got out of bed about midday, Keith was at the gym and Joel went off to Fingal Bay for 5 days. It is very pretty up there - just around from Nelson Bay and part of Port Stephens.
We've got 4 little monkeys playing in the street and they have been spotted taking mail from the letterboxes and riding their scooters in people's driveways. One went up and was trying to get in a neighbour's front door. Keith did a circuit or our street and the next, but couldn't see where they disappeared to. We have a couple of new families in the neighbourhood, but can't say for certain if there's any connection.
Pat I hope those fitters get on with their job, sounds like a Fawlty Towers episode. They need a bomb under them :-( :-( Hope there is more progress today. You must be so fed up with it all!!!!!!
Jane, would love to have your warm hands, but as Ann mentioned I have inherited Reynauds from my mother. My brother has it too and I have traced it back through my grandmother's line. My toes go black in winter, so I am wearing three pairs of socks including thick ski socks and thick fluffy slippers.
Thanks for the photo Jane, that pigeon is huge!!!! I do love your woodpeckers. I was sitting outside reading the paper, don't ask why but it might have been a fraction warmer out there, when a Blue Wren and three females came and sat in the Lilli Pilli. They are funny little birds and were enjoying themselves so much, not at all worried about my presence.
Sheila, I will improve a bit when the weather warms up. I would love to be out in the garden, but that's not possible at the moment. There has been a bit of comment about the Beckham baby's name (Harper's bizarre) lol. Each to their own, but these poor little kids have to go through life with odd names!!!
Frank I'm sorry Ros is so poorly. It's a very worrying time for you both. I do hope she is up to having a small snack today. Roll on the 22nd for the scan and some answers.
Mel how is Phil the Pleasant? Have you seen him again?
Annx glad you enjoyed your birthday, but your poor leg!!! Hope the bite is less painful today and starts to heal quickly. Appliances, they don't make 'me like they used to!!!
Must be time for a cuppa. Bye for now 3.50 pm EST

Ann, Coughton Hall doesn't sound as though it was quite as nice as you expected. As for the bite .Could have been something like a horse fly or a hornet? No cream tea??I hope that bite settles down with that anti histamine. It sounds nasty. That is a birthday to remember :-S
I am away to my bed shortly.I just feel like I need to lie down. Will probably read for an hour or so. I remember one year when my freezer food was spoiled after a power cut I had to save everything in bin bags and some chap came out to check the amount I was claiming for.I was just glad it wasn't a hot summer as it would have all been stinking by the time he came.It seemed ridiculous really as I had to guess how much I had paid for everything.I just upped it lol.Think I got about £300. Ann have you tried an ice pack on your bite?
Night Night everyone .I hope we all have a good nights sleep xx

I will check that David. It might be worth claiming. The bin men came today though so the 'evidence' is gone, but I could do a list I think.
That was good getting those appliances taken away......and the privet too which would need regular attention to keep looking good.

Not for nothing, but I'm pleased to see them go.

We had a nice time at Coughton Court, but I don't think I would describe the walled garden as stunning. It was very nice though. The house itself was quite gloomy with lots of panelling. One of the ancestors whose husband lost his head (literally) had it embalmed and kept it!! lol Not sure, but I think it was Sir Walter Raleigh. What I did come away with was a nasty bite on my leg. It left a red stab wound which now has a red area around it about 3 inches wide and 1-2 inches deep. All around the outer edge is a pale ring. Gawd knows what it was that bit me. I've had reactions to bites before, but not quite like this!! I have taken a hayfever tablet like a chemist told me to once.
I hope Ros's ultrasound throws some light on things so they can do something for her Frank. It is a shame she's not up to eating your lovely dinners at the moment. Still, Jane's idea of bubble and squeak sounds good for tomorrow.
That's lucky you found some hands for your clock Fiona. Getting parts for things can be tricky these days.
Kim it must be awful to have cold hands like that. My sister suffers from Raynauds disease and has cold hands too. She has a job to keep them warm. I hope you get some energy back soon. We have felt a bit drained and lifeless today, but I think it is the weather which has been a bit stuffy.
The fridgefreezer is only two and a half years old but out of warranty!! It is the only one I have ever had that has packed up like this. When I moved from my last house I gave my old 20 year old freezer to a lady who bred dogs. I think we will just pull it out to make sure there are no loose wires before I call someone tomorrow. It makes a few noises and the light comes on so it isn't a fuse. MORE EXPENSE as Frank would say. OH took his car back for the bulb they forgot the other day to be replaced. Fair dues to them, there was no charge for it.

Annx, check your home insurance. You may be covered for loss due to freezer failure. If you are they will want a detailed list of what you lost.
Happened to me once, but I didn't know about their needing a list until after I'd slung it. So it was written off.
