Hi Frank Hope the tablets work for Ross as well.. Sometimes its easier to stay at home and do things when you want. Ann ..I have been to Stonehenge...Once when you could get near them..Now you have to pay and they are all fenced off..Is it your birthday tomorrow.? Enjoy yourself where ever you go...
I dont have any garden hardly...so it sounds nice all of you growing your own veggies etc..
When we were in Kent we went up to visit my grandson who had died..His headstone had just been laid afew days before.

Don't know if I mentioned it but they have started putting different bollards around school entrances here. I drove past my old junior school in the city last week and there are some there. It does look strange, instead of plain black bollards, there are models of children in green jumpers in rows along the edge of the pavement. Anyone else see them?

I'm done in now and have had to come in. It is so hot outside and I was being plagued by tiny black flies!! I had to go straight in the shower with my black feet and smutty face......now sitting in shorts with a cool fizzy drink. OH took one look at my shattered state and said do you want to eat out, so no risotto now (good job I hadn't defrosted the chicken) a carvery later instead.
Fiona is a Lair stone a headstone or memorial slab of some kind? I have never heard the term before. I bet Sofia is a little nightmare when you are trying to get things done.
We have decided to go to Coughton Court near Alcester tomorrow instead of Hatfield house as it isn't all open on Tuesdays. The gardens at Coughton are described as 'stunning' so it should be nice. OH quite fancied going to Stonehenge as neither of us has ever been.
I hope the tablets work on Ros's queasiness Frank. It is a horrid feeling. I can understand her wanting to stay at home, but it was a lovely thoughtful offer from Conrad and Jane. Watch you don't burn, the sun has caught the top of my shoulders I think.

Morning/Afternoon All,
What a great day. Going to get the lounger out and had a read for an hour or so.
Ros was at the Doctors this morning, given her some tablets to put under her tounge, to help her from feeling sick all the time. Conrad and Jan, want her and me to go to them for a week or so, so she can keep an eye on her. Ros refused in the nicest possible way, and said she's o.k. here.
Now I have all the broad beans out of the way, I can get to my runner beans, and the sun is on them all day now. Will have to put in some other veg. now I have the space. The peppers are doing very well in the greenhouse as are the cuecumbers and courgettes.
Thust you all have a good day.

Morning All,
It's not every morning you see that through your front window Pat!! He must have left home in a hurry. Glad you had nice weather for your tip to Kent.
Some interesting envelopes came in the post today!! I shan't open them till tomorrow though. OH has whizzed out on a 'secret mission'. I expect I will find out about that tomorrow too. We are thinking of going to the Hatfield House down south one day this week.......has anyone else been??
The first tomato is always delish isn't it Mel, warm and sweet and never reaches a plate.
Well, I'm off outside now to my old friends the rocks.......see if I can do a few feet of edge before the 'body' complains. Then I need to pick things for my risotto tonight and plant a few more radish and rocket seeds.
OH voluteered to do some notes for a disciplinary interview last week with person, manager and union rep. He couldn't believe what a drama and fuss people were making saying how difficult these things were, even paying extra just for doing the notes which flabberghasted him!! He soon told them these interviews were the bread and butter of his old job. I'm sure he would like to have taken over the interviewing and make a better job of it than they did!! lol He often comes home shaking his head at how poor things are that he sees and what waste there is.

Morning Pat and All,
Beautiful sunshine here today.
Thanks for the photos Jane and Mandy. Jane we have had the green woodpecker in the garden lately too. They like the ants on the top lawn and come every year.
Mandy the kids certainly looked happy yesterday. I love the one of them in the cave thingy. As Ann said what a huge tortoise!
Pat glad you enjoyed your weekend away and now have the washing machine back working. If it's as nice there today as it is here that base coat should dry quickly.
Hi to Sheila, what have you been up to this weekend.
Frank good that Ros had a better meal last night.
I picked my very first ripe tomato yesterday! It was a bit bigger than a marble but so delish. I also have a nice cue nearly ready so must feed everything today. Not going shopping as there is'nt much I need, only some more milk and I can get that up the local shop.
Chickens are moaning so I better let them out!

Morning All
Had a nice few days in Kent with my youngest son and family..Weather turned out quite nice there..When we got back the sky went very black and then we had some heavy rain...
Did some washing there...and then Alan connected the washing machine up checking for leaks when we got back..so washing is up to date again..
Looked out the front bedroom window and saw a car half across our drive. And then a man doing a quick change outside...Bear chest and underpants lol...Thought he was going to next door as his work is supposed to be starting today...but no up our path he comes.. He got a phone call this morning to put a base coat on our new plaster ready for the units to go up tomorrow ? We knew nothing about a man comming today..... So I answered the door in my usual gear of nightie and cardi as I had washing my dressing gown last night lol... I will read though your posts later...Thanks for all the emails and photos I opened when I got back..

Anne I was talking to OH today about Redmire. He reckons when we went quite a few years ago that they had restored some the rail line as far as Redmire but no further and just for commercial use at that time. We remember seeing a big platform where the MOD would load tanks. He said that they were hoping to develop things for passengers so he was interested to know they now have a station!!

Hi Everyone,
OH and I feel soo tired today after a bit more rock wrestling this morning. Still each one placed is one less to do. OH keeps asking me to feel his muscles!!!! lol
Mandy, fancy you getting your toe stuck in the buttonhole.....it's a wonder your OH didn't say you should have had your slippers on like he did!!! lol Lovely pics of the children....... growing fast aren't they. That tortoise is huge isn't it. It looks a lovely place and the deer are even tamer than the ones I see.
Jane, I have never seen a fox with it's meal either. I hadn't thought of them eating Pigeons. That's a good pic of the Woodpecker. You managed to get quite close. We still have a dawn chorus of that flippin crow!!
Maureen, your 'mouse' was a brilliant buy! I still haven't made it to a boot sale this year yet. Have you filled your new shed up yet??
I replanted one of my pots as the begonia in it just flopped and died. Now the petunia is doing the same, just one side of it. I think a dose of vine weevil killer tomorrow as it seems like something is getting the roots. We have just 1 runner bean ready and some purple dwarf beans and a few peas and carrots. I think I will do a risotto type thing tomorrow with some cooked chicken out of the freezer. We have tomatoes coming out of our ears now and cucumbers ready, so some salads during the week I think.
OH is a bit miffed as his car has to go back to the garage. He got it serviced earlier than the due date especially so they could replace a light bulb that wasn't working........guess what they forgot to do!!!

Hi Everyone I think I am turning into a couch potato as I have spent most of the day watching tele, Grand Prix, cycling and athletics. Thankfully I did have a walk this morning to post some letters. The weather has been warm but overcast with just glimpses of sunshine but no rain. I have not watered my neighbours plants because pots were still damp from yesterday but will have to start tomorrow. I am taking MIL to visit her brother tomorrow. He has been researching the family so we are going to compare notes. Tomorrow is also Hazels 3rd birthday but I shall not see her sadly but I am sure she will have a super day. Frank I am amazed that you are picking runner beans as ours are only half way up the canes. Picked the last of the strawberries this week and the blueberries have started. Hubby dug up a potato plant before he went away but we think they need a little longer as still quite small. Jane We get very few green woodpeckers here as we live too far north apparently. Off to make a cup of tea :-D :-D

Hello Sheila I'm fine but feel sooooo tired.I think it actually may be to do with the dreaded high pollen count.I forgot to take an anti histamine this morning.Have taken one now so we will see if it makes a difference.I don't think I will be late to bed tonight. I was looking at your pictures earlier .Does Beryl have her eyebrows tattooed on?I know quite a lot of people do.
There are thousands of those little aphids flying about. We have just lit some of the citronella candles to see if we can keep them away from the patio table as we want to eat outside.
My dear old friend down in Cornwall rang just now to say she been to collect her new companion.Puffin a sweet Border Terrier. She is so happy to have another dog as she has been so lost after losing Widget(her 14 year old Border Terrier)

Dinner all over, dishwasher finished doing it's job. Will empty that a bit later. Ros managed quite a bit of dinner today. If she hadn't is would have been Doctors for her tomorrow.!!!! See how she is in the morning.
Mandy, you certainly had a good day out, with the children. They love getting up close with wild animals, It helps them to understand them and their habits.
Maureen, I have a wirless mouse by Microsof#. Never had any trouble with it. When the battery gets low, it tell me on screen.
Jane, Would that be a GREEN WOODPECKER never heard of the other one or seen one :-D :-D :-D :-D. The way you are going, you will be sleeping under the matress. Silly WOMAN :-0 :-0 :-0

Raining here now , nice steady rain , would do because i've just watered !!!!!
You should have a better nights sleep tonight then Jane . We've had just a quilt cover over us at night ,no quilt inside , last night i caught my big toe on one of the buttons !!! i kicked the quilt over a bit with my foot and put my toe through one of the button holes !!! LOL
I was wide awake this morning at 5.30 ,read my book for a while ,then came down stairs and painted my toe nails ready for today .
