Mandy it sounds like a grand day out at the Dinosaur Park.Children just love those kind of places don't they.Pork Pie and salad sounds just right I think.

Frank you will be having a feast with all your home grown veg.I hope Ros manages to have some.I am just heating up a ready cooked chicken, and we will have some of our new pots. Not sure whether to have salad or veg with it yet.

We have had the young Greenpecker here this afternoon. It came so close to the patio while Chris was sat there.I got a couple of pics through the window.
It is now pecking away at the big dead tree.Bits of bark keep flying off lol.We can hear it but it must be around the side of the trunk.

Oh Fiona, not more rain :-( :-(.At least you managed to get out.
It feels very still and heavy here. The kind of weather that tires you out even if you haven't done much.

Last night it was so hot in bed and something felt not right.I discovered this morning that I had put the Mattress Topper not on top of the mattress but on top of the mattress cover and just under the bottom sheet. So it was a bit like sleeping on top of a Duvet :-S :-S.It is all sorted now,so hopefully a better night sleep.

Back on the computer at last, haven't been able to use it for the past few days, the arrow was stuck so I couldn't log on to anything. Wasn't sure if it was the mouse, all the lights were on, just nobody home ......... Managed to find a stall at the boot sale selling them, all new and packaged, you can get virtually anything there, £3 what a bargain, the one I bought in Cur**ys was more than £10 and IT WORKS.

Will get back to catching up with all your news now.

Afternoon everyone,
Just home from the Dinosaur Park , all had a lovely day ,children all good as gold , we went in the back of a trailer to see the Deer ,they came right up to the trailer and the guide feed them , one of the Deer was really tame and could be touched by the guide as it was hand reared and has human contact , they can run up to 45 miles an hour and jump over the tractor that pulled our trailer , there must have been at least 30 round the trailer and they were only about two foot away from us ,there were two White Deer ,they did look strange , looked a bit like Goats !!!
Two of the big ones had huge antlers, the antlers only take about ten months to grow ,when they first start to grow they are covered with a velvety fur ,then this drops of as they get larger , they had an antler in the trailer for us to hold , they are really heavy , must weigh about four or five pound !!!if not more .
There were lots of other animals in the Park, two huge Tortoise , which were ...shall we say getting quite friendly together :-S
We went on a nice walk through the trees passed a waterfall and lake were you could feed the ducks and fish , some nice Lily's flowering on the water.

Must sort out some tea now ,Pork Pie and salad i think tonight nice and easy .

I am in now. Done both lawns and the edges. Feed all the tomato plants 30 pots 2 growbags and 8 big pots in the greenhouse. Used almost a full bottle of feed.!!!! Picked all the Broad beans, and first picking of runners for dinner, pulled a root of potato's for today's dinner also. Beef is now in the oven, hope Ros feels like eating today, otherwise I am cooking and clearing up for ONE. But I think with all the veg out of the garden, together with her broad beans, she might be tempted to eat. I do hope so.

Funny you should mention the vfox Jane. Conrad was telling us last night about a little mouse/vole in the flower boarder. It poped onto the lewn and in a split second a kestral had landed on it. Grabed hold and flew off.

Turned out nice for the Grand Prix. We have had helicopters flying over all morning, and we will hear the cars roaring round the track,if the wind is in the right direction. Harvey was saying last night. That one of his clients was paying and had booked a private helicopter for the day to take him and his party to Silverstone and back for £28,000.00 More money than sence comes to mind. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hope you all enjoy the afternoon sun. Don't get burnt :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hi Everyone.
Just been to the garden centre, it's pouring down here so OH said lets go for a run out.It was better shopping around than sitting inside looking out at the rain, so we bought a couple of plants, and some compost, and OH wanted a new extension wire for his hose, not that we are needing to use it, with all this rain lol

we are back in time for a cuppa. before SIL & Sofia come down.

I'm off to get my tea.

Hello All
Just back from Milton Keynes (again).it was so hot there.Phew! On the way a fox trotted across the duel carriage way with a big Pidgeon in it's mouth.Luckily all the cars missed it.I have never seen one carrying its meal before.
I think I'll get a bite of lunch and put my feet up for a while

Just poped in from cutting back lawn. looks and smells nice after the rain.

We had a pleasent evening at Conrad's and arrived home about midnight.
They had bought so much Chinese, that there was no way it could be eaten. Crispy seaweed, spare ribs, seasame toast, spring rolls, Crispy DUCK, pancakes and the trimmins, Then 7 main courses. Ros managed a small amout of Beef, green peppers, in Black bean sause with noodles. I had a very small part of Roast duck in plumb sauce. It was the worst I have ever had !!!!!

Coming home Lesis Julia and I were in the back, and he curled up, with his head on my lap and sleept till we got home, Julia then got in the front seat and he had the back to himself. We are picking him up on Friday for the weekend.

Hello everyone,

Just popping in quickly as I have had so much trouble getting on to this thread and lost my post when I tried to submit it.

Sunny, but cold and windy here today.

Not doing much as the tank seems to be empty at the moment. I did watch an old Doris Day movie last night which I really enjoyed "Do Not Disturb", with Rod Taylor. Had not seen it in many years!!!!!

Annx, would love to see that squirrel digging up the onions, so cheeky. I thought they stored acorns for winter??? :-S And Mel's robins, which I have only seen on tv and in books :-)

Frank I'm pleased to see that Ros is eating a little more. Enjoy your dinner at Conrad's.

Off to watch the news now and see what Madam Gillard has been up to today with her policies. It's all go here :-P :-P

Bye for now, 5.57 pm EST

Washed the windows and sills inside and out earlier today at our new bungalow.

After clearing all the drains of obstuctions etc I poured buckets several of water down each one to flush them clear.

On returning this evening to mop the floors I pleasantly noticed that the owner of the adjacent bungalow had cropped a very high privet down to below waist height. It looks so much better and shows both bungalows off.

What a day!! I managed to watch qualifying but missed the end of the cycling as my neighbour called around with the watering instructions for next week. I put the tele on pause until he left and son rang so had a skype with him and then went back to the tele and pressed the wrong button and lost the lot. Am now going to record it on ITV 4 at 7pm as John Barrowman on BBC then.
We escaped the 4pm storm but could hear the thunder in the distance again. It has rained since then so I do not need to water!!
I love the sound of church bells. Our village church only has one bell and is not licenced for weddings so need to go into town to hear the parish church bells.

Mel ringing must be so interesting but very strenuous
Ann No sorry . never left Redmire station next time we go up the dale I will pop in on your behalf.
Frank Glad to hear that Ros is better and enjoy your evening, actually I think you will have left by now whoops
Now must make a drink and settle down for John :-D :-D

I can see the bridal cars go down to the church ,some times they all get out and walk down to the church and then i can see the dresses , i remember when there would be three or four weddings on a Saturday ,now it's about one a month ,if that !!

Our mattress is really heavy ,hubby helps me turn it over ,i'd never do it on my own .
When we went on holiday abroad ,the mattress was so comfortable ,the best we've ever slept on , hubby stripped the bed off to see what make it was , i told him no way are we taking a mattress home !!!!!!! LOL

Last night i had to laugh at hubby , he had been in the bathroom came to get into bed and went to put his slippers on and get into bed LOL i then got the giggles and got told off for laughing !!!!!

We're off to the Dinosaur Park tomorrow with Son and family and DIL's parents , taking a picnic with us.

One thing in that book ...The Lone Ranger..I always thought it was Hi Ho Silver.
No.Hi Yo Silver!.I used to love that programme .
Just had a chat with Rachel in Dubai. They still haven't got little Ethans Passport. They need to be here for Rachel's Brothers wedding on the 24th.It's getting a bit close now,and she is getting very worried. :-S :-S

I just had a look on Google Maps and found the bungalow where I lived from a baby until 9 years old.Just seeing the concrete gate post that I used to sit on to wait for Dad to come home from work made me feel quite weepy.

Annx Report 9 Jul 2011 16:59

That was a bargain Jane. Mine are looking a bit tired I must say. We have a memory foam mattress and I just turn it top to bottom every 6 months or so.....wish it had handles on the sides though. The previous one had a mind of it's own when you turned it over and you could get flattened!! lol We both have trouble with pillows!! OH likes them high and I like them sloped. lol One night he was pummelling away and muttering at his pillows........till told him I wished he would stop all his 'pillow talk'!! lol He couldn't pummel for laughing then. I like the sound of those that mould to your neck.

Thank you for passing on the book Jane/ Mandy, after you have finished it. It will be interesting to see what we have forgotten about. I'd better watch where I use the word pumps Jane!! We had another word ending in 'ump' for that. lol We didn't call them plimsoles until Grammar School.

Fiona, you are getting some nice sunshine lately. I bet it was lovely sitting outside doing your wordsearch. I always carry sudokus in my bag to do if I have to sit and wait anywhere for OH. The time flies when you are doing puzzles.

I'm glad you didn't hurt your back Mel. It would be awful to be back to square one with it.

I think I will pop out and get some icecream.....just fancy some.

Just a quick hello, as it's been a lovely day so far sun all the time , no rain but a very strong wind, been sitting in the garden with my wordsearch book, needed to get a drink so I thought I would pop in to say hello.

Thought I would pop in, Harvey is picking us up about 4.15/4.30. We will go back to Toddington, for him to get showered and shaved and will leave from there, straight up the A 1 to Stamford, then across to Conrads.

Annx, That must be the same type of programme that we have on Saturdays,

No Jane, Harvey will drop us off tonight, before returning to Toddington.

If I had known the weather was going to turn out like this, I would have got my Lawns cut. There are leaves everywhere, from the storm yesterday, and cherry pips, from the tree, where the birds have had a feast.

Jane we have one of those memory foam matresses. that you don't have to TURN. thank god, as you say they weigh a TON.

Mandy, I like a firm pillow also, Ros has one that is made by Tempur. Very expensive but moulded to the shape of your neck. She sleeps like a log on it. She would never have a normal pillow again. :-) :-) :-)

I walked down the pub a lunchtime for a pint. They were getting ready for a wedding reception on the back lawn, with people everywhere. From the accents, it was an Irish wedding, There will be a few drinks downed there this afternoon, TO BE SURE----- TO BE SURE :-D :-D :-D :-D

I love the sound of wedding bells.Makes me go all gooey. Can you see the Bride from your house Mandy?
My new Duvet cover and pillow cases are in the washing machine.i like to soften them up before putting on the bed.Mattress is turned now thank goodness.I can't remember the last time it was done.Maybe it will be more comfortable to sleep now.
The sun is shining now.No rain at all today(so far)

I hope Mel's back is ok after her bell ringing, and I also hope that Pat is having a nice chilled and relaxing time at her Sons.

Afternoon everyone,

Bright and sunny here ,washing all dry and folded ,will get ironed another day .

I don't remember Mint Spangles either ,perhaps they were tried out in certain parts of the country and they didn't catch on .
Thanks for sending the book Jane , will pass it on to you Ann when i've read it .
That's a bargain with the Duvet cover and pillow cases , we need some new pillows ,but i carn't find any that are nice and firm , i carn't stand those that go flat as a pancake as soon as you lay your head on them .

Anne, your evening sounded great fun ,and i would have loved watching the storm , the Wensleydale cheese would have been right up my street ,don't know about the beer though :-)

Frank, glad to hear Ros is now eating a little bit , perhaps her stomach has now ajusted to the new tablets.
Good job you noticed the two washing machines had been charged to your account .
Have a lovely evening tonight .
We have Treasure Quest on a Sunday morning 9-12 , they go all over Norfolk looking for the treasure , there's a young lady on there who has to find the clues she's afraid of heights , one week they sent her up in a helicopter ,poor girl !!!!!!
Bells are ringing , there's a wedding .

Jane Report 9 Jul 2011 14:23

Ann ,we called Pumps Plimsoles. We used the word Pump when someone far**d.
I have racked my brains and am pretty sure I never had a mint spangle.I wonder if they were a limited edition.

Have been to the Post office and the book is on it's way to Mandy.Maybe she can send it on to you next Ann.
Onions seem a strange thing for Squirrels to like.Touch wood ours are still in the ground.I haven't seen the squirrel here for a little while.

Frank ,have a lovely meal with the family this evening. Are you staying over?
