Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Jul 2011 14:07

Had lunch so now I suppose it's back to the ironing. poo!

May have a walk round the garden first and see if I can get side tracked :-D

Frank that is very early to be picking cooking apples ours are not big enough yet but nice and rosy for Bramleys.

I have just looked at my keyboard and am surprised at how a pair of small hands can polish certain parts to a beautifull shine when they should be rough like the rest of the plastic on other parts not touched by human hands. I also have no letters on the t e and r keys which really gets up oh's nose when he comes to use my keyboard. Gets my SIL too. They should have learnt to touch type at school.

That gin sounds wonderful. Mel, intoxicating is good. I'm having a Bailey's at the moment. I remember drinking Gin Slings when I was younger.

Thanks for those explanations, it's very interesting especially as I haven't known about it before.

Frank I dropped a couple of my patches before I actually got it on my arm. Yes it does say DO NO COMTAMINATE. What a clutz I am :-S Hope when they kick in they do some good Frank. Am thinking of you both.

Off to watch some telly. Have the best day you can everyone. xx

Used to love drinking Mead when I was in Somerset. Just thought of that after all these years.

Afternoon all,

Late today as Conrad and Jan are here. They had to bring their Merc. over to Northampton for a service, and got a loan car for the day. So they called in.

Yes, I am a little more settled this morning, but still feel cross that the surgery couldn't have treated me a little better. The woman who delivered the perscriptions, did apologies for them not being ready when they should have been.

Mel, We got a patch on Ros last night, after I had droped one face down on the carpet. The instructions cleary said "DO NOT CONTAMINATE" There are only four in the pack, and have to be changed each week, but not on the same place, and not near a scar. That dosn't leave me much space, on her back. The side effects go on and on and on. Jane they are called "BuTrans" transdermal patches 5 microgram/hour. What is Chris's opinion, if he is allow to say. ?????#

Kim, We go for a sloe walk in the autunm. to collect sloes for "SLOE GIN" That is so good, and very warming on a cold winters evening..

Now LIZ, put the claws away :-D :-D :-D :-D

Have just dug a root of potato's for Conrad, also picked the first cooking apples. They are the best I've had for years, Last year I did give the tree a good "HAIRCUT" and it seems to have worked. He's been round and picked a few tomato's and a couple of courgettes !!!!!! I havew also given him a pot of PEPPERS that he can feed and pick as he wants them. Good old DAD.

Jan has taken Ros up to the Garden centre for a walk round, she might use a wheelchair, as she's not good again today. She didn't eat again yesterday, and drank milk instead, but was still sick.

It's for Gymnastics Jane. Polly's going for 10 days to a host family. Laura will then be having a child back on a return trip, if you see what I mean!!! sooner her than me!!! Does anybody know of, or remember having Summer Pudding? It was made either in a Pyrex or china basin. You lined the basin with bread and filled it with blackcurrents, cooked it for the allotted time, and then turned it out onto a plate, with custard or cream it was really scrummy, so was Steak and Kidney pudding made in a basin with suet, Rissols come to mind as do Fish Cakes. My mother was a brilliant cook, things seemed to go downhill a bit after she died!! Laura, however, is an excellent cook, and keeps up the good work. Me? I'm average, Like you Frank, Ian is a good cook and makes a lot of the meals, unlike you, he DOESN'T clear up or do housework!!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Jul 2011 11:09

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Jul 2011 11:08

Kim you be carefull on that exercise machine. We can't have you wearing yourself out like that.

Frank hope the patches work well for Ros. Has she tried them today yet??

I had a trolly made by my dad. Mum worked for ncle Les doing his office work and he had an engineering business. He got my axels made for the trolly and got the white tyred pram wheel for it. The only thing with my one was it did'nt have the cut out on the front end so I could'nt put my feet on the axel piece at the front. It was a plank of wood all one size and dad fixed a big piece of foam on the end for a seat.

Morning All,

Sunny here again today and oh has just gone off to get more cement. He finished the back bit of stone work yesterday so things are now coming together.

My back still very sore but better than the day before. Trouble is when it feels a bit better youforget and then hurt it again. Like I did pulling my jeans on this morning. I had a lovely long shower last night and just stood there and let the hot water run over my back. It was like a massage.

Liz so glad things are going right for your family at the moment. I would hate the job of packing everything up to move. So many descidons (sp???) to make as to whether to throw things out or keep them. I can't think how to spell that blimmin word!!!

William is there anything I can look up for you on your family tree. I love helping others.

Fiona hope you enjoy your new table and chiars. It's always nice when you get something new for the garden. Have you planted your little wishing well this year.

Oh back and wants coffee.

Morning All
Well, where has that sun gone.It is all cloud this morning.I think it is supposed to be back tomorrow.Fingers crossed.
OMG Kim your poor Mum having her ear chewed by your Dad over the Bomb!
They must have got such a fright though.

I need to go to the Bank this morning and pop into the place where Hannah has had the last service done on her car as she doesn't appear to have anything to say it was done.Hopefully they will have it in their records.

Fiona we had a boiler like yours when I was young .That was in the kitchen too.Our cats used to love to sleep on top of it.It got quite hot sometimes ,I don't know they managed to stay on there.

Liz I hope Laura has a great time in Toronto.I'm not sure if I have missed why she has gone.Is it Holiday or Gymnastics ?

Must go and get things done.BBL

Well, Polly is off to Toronto today, it's going top be a long flight for a little girl but I expect she'll be OK. Weather cloudy, but warm, am wondering what to get on with, our house looks like a bomb has hit it, just a sea of muddle!!! Yes Kim, I'll certainly be posting some photos, before and after ones, the camera will be at the ready!! Frank, I can well understand your frustration, I once went to the Dentist, to be told that my appointment had been booked on the wrong day, and I had to go back!!! it is infuriating! I do hope that the patches do Ros some good, SURELY they can get to the bottom of what her problem is, seems odd if they can't. Neighbours very quiet and low key! hope the new person here will be V.noisy!!!! :-D

Fiona

Fiona Report 29 Jul 2011 08:45

Morning everyone
cloudy but dry at the moment, just going for a shower got the gasman coming at half past nine, we are thinking of changing our gas boiler it is very old fashioned, I think our house was built in the 60's and I am sure it must be the origanial one it's a floor standing boiler with a big steel flu that goes up the wall and out through the roof. an awful thing stands in the corner of the kitchen.

then after he's gone were going to the garden centre to collect the patio table and chairs( exciting :-D :-D) I must remember to buy a cover to put over it when not in use,

going for a shower , have a good day. <3 <3

Hello everyone and welcome to William. I can remember my mother having one of those mincers. I think she turfed it long before I left home and all the neighbours had them too. Mum minced up the cold beef or lamb and made a brilliant bread pudding - lots of other dishes from that era. Everything was nourishing with no preservatives or anything else added. How times have changed!!!

Mandy have you been getting any of my emails?? They have bounced back a few times "fatal errors".

Liz great news that you have a moving date. It's all full steam now. I would love a photo when your chalet is built if possible, some time off, I know. First things first :-)

Mel, I hope your pain has eased today. Take it a little easier will you? I know that's easier said than done!!!

Jane, James' girlfriend sounds like my daughter. Hope Chester has got a bit more zing about him today. You must be having really warm weather over there. We have had a beautiful couple of days after more rain. The dams are filling up which is such a relief!!!

Frank, one book listed on e-Bay so far, 999 to go. I hope these patches bring some relief for Ros. Good that they were delivered to you, bl**dy cheek of some of these doctors' surgeries. Talking of schrapnel, I can remember my mum and dad digging out a dead lemon tree at the bottom of our garden back in the early 80s. Mum had the shovel hitting this object and on closer inspection it turn out to be an unexploded shell left over from the war. The bomb disposal unit turned up and took it away AND IT DID EXPLODE. Boy those two were lucky, my dad was doing his nana and telling my mother how stupid that was. It was still going on when I got home from work. They were a funny pair.

Sheila, children are so excruiatingly honest, lol. Little April, bless her!!! Really lovely that the man bought her another cup so she could continue with her artwork, especially when it was for her dad. Beryl and Donnie, you will have to write a book about that pair :-D :-D

Hi Shirl, loving your emails. They do me a power of good.

Keith is making me a cuppa. Hello to anyone I haven't mentioned Fiona, Anne, Annx, Maureen, David and of course Pat will be back soon. Sorry if I have forgotten anyone.

All the bedding is washed and dried for the animals. Feel like I have achieved something. Got on the treadmill yesterday at such a cracking pace that I collapsed afterwards. Think I would have learned something by now ;-)

Chinese tonight, yum!!! Daughter is off to help the boyfriend's family move to their new home at Budgewoi. Joel is constantly serenading me with his guitar - gotta love it, lol. Keith is going to gym 3 times a week now and it is paying off. Getting fit and looking more toned. I'm so proud of him and Rod would be too!!!

Off to have that cuppa before it gets cold. Cheers, 4.07 pm EST
