Afternoon to you all,

Nice to see you posting again Kim. We have a dog shelter about 3 miles away and I often take stuff to them like old duvets and clothes/bric a brac. They have open days and fetes when they sell the stuff people bring in and a tiny shop where they sell things. One of the kennels is near the shed where you leave things and I always have a peek to see what is in there. (and want to take it home!!) The dogs are very well cared for and they never put a dog down. I have seen shorthaired dogs there with smart little coats on in the winter!!

Jane I could do with a bit of ooooomph too!! That girl that fell in the water was lucky it wasn't deeper!! I can see Chris heading for his gun when he gets home.....bunnies will love his veg......oh no!! I see you have another interesting book to read. lol I have sold 2 of my cars privately from ads in the paper as you can usually get more than from a dealer who has to make a profit. More hassle though and if you do that and they pay by cheque tell them you want a banker's draft and pay it in before you let them take the car away. You can look in a Parker's Guide or some of the car mags at the newsagents to get a price for the car or look at the Parker's guide online here:

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-prices/

Mel, your OH will soon be 'on track' with the newbuild then! lol I know what you mean about squishing toms in your pocket.......I have done it too. Cram them all in to carry them back and there is no room for any bending!!

Frank, well done with your selling!! Soon you will have lots of space everywhere!!

Morning my sweeties,

How are you all???

Kim, nice to see you around,Hope you are feeling a little better.

Jane, What year is Hannah's car, and the mileage. If you don't get a reanonable price at a dealers, try an ad.in ET and then you could try the Auction. I have been away from the trade too long, to be able to help with a price.

Picked a few more beans this morning, The tomato's are coming along and started to ripen, Lawns could do with another cut, but they can wait today.

I have to pack and post the old slate and marble clock. The buyer is from Stonehaven, Scotland. Got £36.00 plus P & P. Must see how the other things are doing.

Has the postman been yet Maureen, Please let me know when he does.

Morning Kim and All,

So nice to see Kim has posted as we worry about her!

Another lovely day here with plenty of sunshine. Think it is a bed stripping day.

OH is out doing the digger as the new tracks should arrive today but he is having trouble getting the old track to release. He had a call this morning to say ringing was cnacelled tonight and the chap who rang (a friend of ours) works on big machinery so he asked him about it. He is now trying John's way.

Morning Kim and all
I'm glad you managed to get your post done today Kim and hope you have had a bit more oomph!
I can't stand going to animal shelters.I get too upset.I have only ever been twice and had my first dog Dodger and then the second time I came home with an 11 week old Chester.I know these places are always in great need of bedding toys etc.

I have just been down the garden to pick some dwarf Beans and Carrots, and from the other veg patch I heard some kind of noise. There was a big rabbit digging a tunnel under the radishes !!.It did a High Jump right over the wire fence and shot off.It frightened the life out of me lol
i don't think Chris is going to be impressed when he gets home tonight :-S :-S

I am now going off to a couple of second hand car dealers with Hannahs Megane.

Hello everyone,

I have started a couple of posts, but just deleted them as I could not finish. I am getting further behind after reading them all. So I will just go on from here.

Beautiful day yesterday, so I decided to wash the cat snugs and old woollen overlays. I am donating them to the RSPCA for bedding for the cats, so when I am up to it will get OH to drive me down to Somersby to hand them over. I won't get out of the car as I always want to bring home a new pet. Slap on the hand ;-) Today is really cold and wet again. I did try the patches, but had an allergic reaction and the heat went to my head and not my fingers. Will just have to get those hand warmers.

Jane and Maureen I have been loving your photos. The bride looked exquisite in her elegant gown and the venue, wow. I can just imagine you sipping champers and eating strawberries and trying not to crease your dress. I can only imagine these historic places - I am really being educated. Wish I could visit them all one day and see what I'm missing. How is Chester, would have been so thrilled to be home and all that tail wagging :-D :-D

Maureen your daughter is soo tall - wonderful mother/daughter shot. I'll bet you had a great day and the weather was kind too.

Frank I have been reading about Ros and thinking of my mum when she wasn't well enough to eat. Do you get the powered Sustagen (sp) over there. Mum could tolerate that and it's packed with vitamins. Just a thought, I have taken it over the years too. Your clock is doing well on e-Bay. I thought of putting a couple of things on for sale, but when I checked the going prices I felt it just wasn't worth it, but I am definitely going to get those books on there. Keith took Joel's bed and a pine toy box down to the Salvos yesterday. They were delighted as everything we donate is always in good condition. I hope it brings them in a few dollars :-) Pleased to see Ros was up to having her hair done - always gives you a little boost!!

Sheila I have been following all the goings on in your neighbourhood. Any news on the men that were burnt??? Must have given the whole place a shake up. Hope that things get back to some normality very quickly.

Trust Pat is enjoying the holiday and thoughts of home are far away.

I will catch up with everything eventually, just glad I managed this today. Off to have a cuppa now. Take care everyone.

Jane Report 26 Jul 2011 22:25

Ensure is another 'food' drink Frank.I think as long as Ros is eating little and often she will be fine.
You have reminded me to get my tyres checked.I think James is having my car tomorrow for the day so I will get him to do it
Fiona I'm sure like you say it will have been good experience for your Daughter to go for the interview even though she doesn't really want that particular job.Great that you seem to be having some good weather!!!

I am now yawning my head off,but still can't do a big yawn as my Jaw is still difficult.I think all the talking ,laughing etc with the Graduation and Wedding has aggravated it.I have an appointment with the Dentist on Thursday to start preparing things for the proper crown, but I think i may have to cancel it as there is no way on earth I could open wide enough at the moment for him to do the work needed.

I hope Pat is enjoying her holiday and not worrying about the house.
Kim ,I hope you are alright .It seems funny without any posts from you.

I wish I lived nearer you Mel.I'd have some of those plums.

Off to bed now to read the latest book.It is the story of Ian Huntley. The one who killed Holly and Jessica back in 2002.I haven't read much of it yet ,but have a feeling there will some very unpleasant reading ahead.I think the book is titled Beyond Evil!

Evening All
another lovely day again here. ,We are doing well this week, glad OH is getting a good spell of weather for his holidays, and MIL to but it's a bit hot for her I think,
Sorted out dad's inscription on memorial stone today, all the papers in now just waiting for permision from the council so the fella who does the job can get permision to go into the cemetery and do the work.

We all went to Edinburgh today as we had to take daughter no 2 for an interview, not a good job, just a commision job, she won't be going for that as it will not pay enough to support her, but it was good for experience,

Was very warm in Edinburgh , we only was there for an hour just enough time to pop into a few shops, MIL got a top but I didn't see anything.

OH brother and SIL coming up from England tomorrow lunch time so we will have a full house for dinner, they are staying over night,
they are looking forward to seeing Sofia as it was christmas when they last saw her.

Well i have a bit of ironing to do, windows all open as i think it's going to be a warm night, had our bedroom window slightly open last night.

Thanks Jane for all your photo's , abeautiful place to have a graduation, and it looked like fun punting on the river.

Frank Report 26 Jul 2011 19:06

Hi all,
Thought I would pop in before I go out to AGM. starts at 8.00pm

When Ros came back from hairdressers, the hair looked great and I told her so.!!!!!
We then went off to Morris####. She would insist on having a trolley and walking round. I told her a few things I wanted and left her to it. I went off and did everything else. When we meet up at the checkout I made her go and sit down while I emptied the trollies, and packed everything away in bags. Got her back to the car, and she decided she needed her tyre pressures checked. What a B ### Job, bending over taking all the caps off, then doing the pressure and putting the caps back on. I was about Bugg####. When we got home, I unpacked everything and put them away, then got the washing in, watered the tomato plants.Stuck a broom up my a### so I could sweep up as I went along :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D When I came in it was 5.45pm, I then got dinner ready and cooked. All washed up, I am ready for a couple of PINTS tonight.

Haven't looked at my Email this evening, but will do when I have posted this.

How's our KIM, not heard from her today. I hope she is feeling allright, I know how tired she says she gets.

Shirl, I know the one you mean but can't think of the name Hold on is it "COMPLAN" that comes to mind, use to give it to my Dad in the 50s, when he was very ill.

I told you Mel, you were going to get the SUNSHINE..

Poor old Jane, Everything to do. !!!! The ad. in the ET sounds a fair bet. You can but try.

Just looked at my Ebay items, One is making over £35.00 with a hour to go. Six bidders. It's an old marble and slate clock that had been sitting in the garage for ever !!!!. Help to pay for Ros's perm lol lol

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Jul 2011 18:21

Back from shopping and thanks for the pics Jane and Shirl.

Hot hot hot here. OH is taking the tracks off the digger as he has bought new ones as one had perished and he could only go in a straight line otherwise the track came off. He is going to do more to the new build once he has the digger working again.
You don't know how many times you use the thing until it is out of order!!

Frank good that Ros had something to eat today. It is very hard to resist bacon once you have smelled it cooking!! Was she pleased with her perm? More expence!! :-D

Picked more toms today and put them in my pocket.............yes you guessed I squashed two bending down. When I put my hand in to get them out..........yuck all wet and sticky.

Frank ,I am in charge of selling Hannahs things!!!.(plus the blooming car).I don't know where to start really.I thought maybe advertising the washer/drier machine and Farmhouse Kitchen Table and Chairs in the ET and see if we get anything from that. The car ,I will take to Te** and get the car washing people to do a Spring Clean on the interior. They do a brilliant job there and I think for a reasonable price.
I am trying to get James and Jess out for the evening .They are doing my head in !!!!!!!
Fitz came up earlier to get away from his Mother (she is doing his head in too lol)He went to Cambridge Uni many years ago.His room overlooked the Bridge of Sighs.I think he spent more time punting on the river rather than studying lol I don't think he was a model student ;-)

I have had the patio doors open and a beautiful Dragonfly decided to fly in.
We had a heck of a job to catch it and get it out again. It was massive.Jess caught it in her delicate hands and released it.

Annx Report 26 Jul 2011 15:08

Afternoon All,

Well, what lovely pics Jane and don't you all look the 'bees knees'!! I agree with Mel that blue really suits Hannah and I love your dress too with that delicate colour. Love the pic of '3 in a boat' !! lol James has a pretty girlfriend doesn't he and I love that old building too.

That's so annoying Frank when you make the effort and then find the place is closed. I think a lot of clubs are struggling these days. OH's was last year and I think it was a bit 'touch and go' for a while till they managed to release some funds to pay the bills. I hope Ros feels a bit better after her breakfast....like you say, getting your hair done is always good for us ladies!! Good idea to use the supermarket trolley wheelchair if Ros will try it. Anything to help, even just for the time she is shopping. I hope you get some bids on your ebay stuff soon.........a lot wait until near the end don't they.

Mandy, I used to love it when I had a hairdresser that came to my house!! It was much quicker, cheaper and there was no 'hard sell' of all those products they have in salons!! Chelsea will need a bribe by the sound of it!!

We did more in the garden this morning and then went out to the nice carvery we went to last week. All was well until we had the blackberry and apple crumble. Mine seemed to have a lot of grit in it, so I spit a bit in my serviette and found it was GLASS!!! I took it back and showed them and at first they said it was only plastic as there was nothing else in the kitchen!! NO I said, plastic would not crunch like grit. I said I thought it was a chip from the glass dishes it was served in and the chap eventually agreed. They were most apologetic and gave us a refund for both our meals and chucked the rest of the crumble away!
I'd had that happen at home with OH being rough putting stuff away and a glass chip falling into a dish......muggins here was the one that used it and got a cut tongue!!

Well, I'm off out again now to look for another evergreen shrub for the bottom of the garden. BBL...

Afternoon everyone,

Not a very good day here,it's been raining on and off, don't think i'll be hanging any washing out today.

Jane, what a beautiful place to have a wedding ,love your dress ,very pretty ,and Hannah's too.

Frank, you are having a sort out with your things to sell, i must get son to put some things on e b*y for me , i don't know how to do it .
Glad to hear Ros has had a little to eat today ,she's got to have a little to keep her going , you must be worried !!

Hairdresser will be here soon , she will give me a trim and hubby too, i think DIL is bringing Chelsea ,she might let her trim her hair if she's in the mind !! she's not to keen .

Frank Report 26 Jul 2011 12:09

Jane just looked at the Photo's, very nice indeed. What a beautiful place for a reception. Bet you thought you were the lady of the manor for the day.

Just put out a full line of coloures, hope the weather holds. Ros is coming back from the hairdressers to pick me up, so I can go and do the shopping. I might try to get her to sit in one of those wheelchairs that you attach the shopping trolley too. It might make her see that it can be easy for her to still pick the things she wants, without walking. Can but try :-D :-D :-D

I have 17 items on Ebay for sale, plenty of lookers, but as yet no bidders. Prices might be a bit high, but I am not letting them go for next to nothing. !!!!

Frank

Frank Report 26 Jul 2011 10:55

Morning all,

Hope you had a good nights rest Jane, days like that do tire you out.

Not a lot to report, Ros didn't eat last night, but this morning had a rasher of bacon, egg, tomato and toast (one slice) She hopes she can keep it down.

I didn't ring the Doctor's this morning, as her appointment would be on trhe end of the list, which would be 11.30am. She has a perm bookek fot 11.15 this morning. I am sure it will make her feel a bit brighter after that.

While she out I will hoover and dust through, and try to think of something for dinner time tonight, that she might fancy (no not me in an apron) :-D :-D :-D :-

The weather forcast is good for Devon and Cornwall and Scotland. Not to clever here at the moment. Overcast and only about 58 degrees. When will we get our SUMMER.

I have got the clubs AGM tonight. so mighjt walk up and see the financial state they are in. Only open Fri night Sat lunchtime and Sun lunchtime. Last Friday the barman never turned up so had to go to the pub. Each time they don't open more people are going to the pub, At least you know they will be open. For me to go to the club, it's 15 minutes walk with my stick. Not much fun when you find it SHUT. !!! and it's up the top of a track, so you can't see if there are any cars there till you get there.

It is bright and sunny again today and I don't want to go shopping but should really so I may go later this morning so I can get back and do something in the garden.

Ann and Jane thanks for the pics. Love your dress Jane and baby Ethan's little suit!!!! He looks just pucker in that. I don't think I have ever seen a small baby in a waistcoat before. Hannah looks great in that colour of blue and Rachael's outfit is lovely too.
