Morning All,

Dry but a bit dull at the moment with grey skies.

Oh off ringing later for church as some of the ringers are away.

I sowed two of my precious purple podded peas a while ago and they have come up so must get those in the tunnel today to see if I can increase my stock!! they are a very old variety with two tone purple flowers and lovely purple pea pods. Hertitage seed!

Did I tell you I bought two Courgette plants from Mo**isons of the yellow colour, well they both turned out to be green ones much to my disgust as the yellow are my favorite. I must complain....................................

Yes Mel, I remember Grapenuts! and Jelly in a block! 'The Home and Colonial' AND, Boots,'Book lovers library' but then I'm SO old I remember the winter of 1947!!! Sad about Amy Winehouse, but rather pales after what's happened in Norway which is truly DREADFUL! That enormous bomb, and then all those young people massacred, just doesn't bear thinking about. Polly goes to Canada on Wednesday on her 'Gymnastics' voyage, it will certainly broaden her horizens, but I shall be glad when she's back safely!!! Not much sunshine here Kim! but we hope for better things next week!

I have have just found a book I might get.....all about the early Quakers in Pennsylvania.....It has a chapter on my ancestor!!

Night, night all......sleep tight xxxx

It has been beautiful here today.

Ann oh built a two brick high wall up the side of our driveway because the road was 11 ft wide at the bottom where we had our picture taken and on 9 foot 6 up by the bend. He is going to do the same the other side. It has made the bend much better for the oil lorry to get in without mucking up his lawn edge.

What dreadful weather for you Kim but lucky the crops have been ok. I hope some rest does you good and gives you some energy. When did you first get ME and did they take a long time to diagnose it?

I overdid it yesterday and must have pulled my lower back. Today if I sit for long I can hardly straighten up!! Still, at least it eases up after 5 minutes. I had some Ibup*ofen after tea. I hope it helps as I want to get on outside!! If it isn't one thing it's another!! One of mum's favourite sayings.

I'm glad Ethan is more settled today Jane and hope Rachel has managed a bit of rest too as it can't be easy to cope when you are so tired.

Mel, I am puzzled?? Has your OH just put a small wall in to hold the concrete for the wider drive?

I hope David is getting things sorted in his new place. I expect it may be a while before he has his computer up an running.

I have to say I wasn't surprised to hear about Amy Winehouse. It is just tragic.Such a dreadful waste of a young talented girl.
Rachel and Darren have gone for a drive with Ethan to get him off to sleep so we can have a peaceful meal lol.We have a couple of bottles of bubbly chilling to celebrate Ethan and James 's graduation.

Here i am. Done the church flowers after lunch and it took me two hours. Then did a bit up the border but not much. Sprnt most of the time looking to see what I need to cut down. I have a bad arrack of rust up there which has killed off all the leaves on my hollyhocks. Even the flowers have gone a bit brown. Such a shame as I ws looking forward to them flowering this year.

Frank our neighbour had a good wheelchair for his wife and that has a small battery pack that fits on it. He said I could have it for mum if I needed it. I will see if he still has it and let you know. We may get it just for the postage????!!!!

WE are having a chinese tonight as oh needs petrol and deisel for all the mowers so we can pick that up when we go and get the meal.

He has finished the wall up the side of the road today so now all he has to do is level the grass to the wall.

Hello eveyone,

Just popping my head in before I go to bed. Have been playing cards with the family - lots of laughter and not much concentration.

Have missed being on here, but the tank is empty at the moment and my typing not great.

Four days solid rain here and it finally eased to a drizzle this afternoon. Lots of localised flooding, but mainly on the coast. The crops haven't been wiped out this time.

Frank sorry to hear about Ros. I think another opinion is needed and a small wheelchair. I have one for the rough times. Give her my best wishes.

Hope Pat is having a fantastic time, sounds like the worst is well and truly behind her.

Jane enjoy the wedding you will be just fine. Hope Chester enjoys his holiday and little Ethan gets over the reflux - nasty condition for bubs and a real drain on Rachael. Thank you for all the brilliant photos of James' graduation.

Hi to Mandy, Mel, Maureen Annx, Sheila and everyone else. I hope to feel more energetic soon, just have to take it easy :-S

Have a happy afternoon - lots of sunshine for everyone to enjoy.

Bye for now, Kim 12.36 am EST

MillymollyAmanda Report 23 Jul 2011 14:13

Frank, dad had one for my mum's wheel chair ,we have it in the shed , you have the control on the handle of the chair and a battery that you charge up and fits under the chair ,you control the chair by the button and it takes the strain of you having to push the chair .

I think it was called a Wheel Chair Power Pack .

Maureen

Maureen Report 23 Jul 2011 14:06

I didn't think it would take you long to read that book Frank. Good wasn't it.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 23 Jul 2011 14:05

No Maureen , it's because son has bought some grey slate floor tiles to go down in his kitchen ,and that set him thinking about ours lol

The trouble is we buy them , they get stored in the shed and i have to wait while he does other peoples work!!! ,so although he's thinking about it now it could be next year before it gets done , but there you go we do save on the labour costs !!

My Sweet Peas are flowering lovely , i was really pleased as i grew them from seed , last year i bought the plants and they didn't do anything .

Frank

Frank Report 23 Jul 2011 14:03

Sorry MANDY, It's not you it's MAUREEN, What's up with me. :-D :-D Daft as a brush.

Mandy, I didn't know you could buy a battery pack to fit on a wheel chair. How does it work. ????

Have been in the garden, put in a row of lettace, raddish, onions, andcabbage. Also transplanted a pot of leeks, enough for two rows.
I took your advise Mel, and just made a deep hole and dropped a plant in, should I have covered them up or leave them alone.????

Hope you are having a nice afternoon all, clouded up here, so might get some rain. Last night I had just watered the outside Tomato plants, when the heavens opened for about two hours.
