Ros is clearing up in the kitchen, and came in the lounge with a WASP in the dish cloth. As she was wiping down the cutting board, this little bugge# came down and picked up a piece of chicken nearly half it's own size, and flew up onto the window, where she managed to get it in the cloth. Neither she or I have ever seen or heard of that before in our lives :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

just remembered i spoke to our shirl. this afternoon. She's well. She was going on about her runner beans and tomato's 4 beans 2 tomato's. When I told her about mine, she said "Go stuff them up your nose" I know what she was going to say, but to much of a lady. lol lol
She's of the Ontario tomorrow with youngest son Mark, she wants to see the IKEA store. They have two in Canada the other is in Toronto.
The weather out there at the moment is in the 30s. with a warning of heavy rain and hail stones. Whereever you are in this world, the weather seems very changeable. Maureen. You should up your starting price. One book I sold today was retailing at £12.99. I bought it new for. £4.99. and sold it for £6.50 plus P and P. As Mr Punch would say. "Thats thre way to do it" :-D :-D :-D

Well done Frank, you do seem to have success with E.Bay, I've sold a few things but they never go for as much as I was hoping and then there's all the palaver of getting to the post office, I don't bother anymore.
Have got to take the ironing back in a minute. Shall be dogding in and out of the showers.
Hope you are okay Kim, haven't seen you on here for a while, same goes for Sheila and Shirl.

You have beed busy chatting. Glad to see you are all allright.
After I got dinner ready for tonight I decided to feed all the tomato's, peppers, courgettes, cuecumbers. Used another pot of feed. Picked some more runner beans. The sun was out, which gave me the opportunity to cut the lawns. A friend down the road, came and picked up all the tree branch's and took them over the allotment tip.(an old iron ore excavation) that saved me hours of walking back and forth.with the barrow.
Conrad and Jan called this afternoon, I dug the first root of potato's for them to take home. There were quite a few, and some getting big. Will have to start to dig them on a regular basis, or the will get to big, we like them small.
Have sold four books on Ebay. still got five more on there. Bit of pocket money, for Ros to spend on rings and things on Ebay. :-D :-D :-D

No Ann, it's not the place we looked at earlier on, that was under offer when we got our new buyer, which I was glad about 'cos I simply didn't want to go there. Ian was keen, but not me!!! The place we're (hopefully!) going to at the end of all this, is about 10 miles from Chippenham in Wiltshire. It has everything we want in the way of workshop space, Merlin accomodation(!) and a bungalow for us, which we are hoping to pull down and replace with a Log Chalet! We have always wanted one of these from way back, and never had the opportunity to build one (better late than never at our age!) but that is our plan, easy to keep in our old age, and whats more important easy and cheaper to heat!!! we shall see, after all this performance we shall be too knackered to do anything!! As you say though, no HIPS thank goodness! Am off to start those burghers!!!

That was good, finding the info you needed Fiona. I know what you mean about those machines being awkward!! All the parish records at our Records office are all on microfiche and it takes me ages. I always seem to turn things or knobs/sliders the wrong way and then have lost my place to carry on from!
That's very true Maureen about keeping on looking again on line.......they are always putting new stuff on. I had a bit of success this week and found a photo on line of my grandfather's older brother b1862. It made me smile as he had the same thick moustache combed straight down to the lip and had a waistcoat on with pocket watch chain showing!! lol
Very best wishes for your move on Thursday David, I hope it doesn't rain for you and that nothing gets damaged. You will be fine once you are there.

Ann ..... Help ..... you're pretty good on the computer. I've gone on to microsoft word to type a letter and it keeps giving me double spacing, so instead of one line of typing and then another straight under it, it gives a double space. I can't seem to find anything to stop it..... any ideas .....

Afternoon All,
Nice and sunny here now. We have had a good morning in the garden, OH weeding and me 'rocking'. lol He took a fence panel out of the bottom fence and cut all the brambles lower so we can see into the field again. He had to go up the close and into the field to cut some as he couldn't reach across, even with steps. He says there are plenty of bunny droppings near the fence and where the rabbit hole is. I just hope they don't start popping up in our garden!!!
Liz, where will you move to if this sale goes ahead? Will it be to the place you originally intended going? It sounds as if the current people are really keen if they are getting down to the nitty gritty so to speak so maybe it will go through ok this time. I hope so for your sake!!! At least you didn't have to have one of those Home Information Packs done.......I can imagine those leading to many more questions!!
I hope Jane has remembered everything. She will be a proud mum with a tissue to her eye I think! :-D

We must have everybody's rain here, it's been coming down on and off all day. Is this the middle of July ????
Lots going on this week. Hope you have a great time Jane and fingers crossed your move goes without a hitch David. Once you get all your familiar things in I'm sure Ellen will feel more at home.
I hope you find lots of dead bodies Fiona :-D :-D :-D I haven't done any research for ages, once you hit that 'brick wall' it's hard to move it on. I do have it down as one of my winter hobbies and I'm thinking maybe after leaving it for a long time there might be some new information on line.
Ros is really going through it at the moment Frank, and it must be really hard for you seeing her suffer and not being able to stop it but you are doing an amazing job just taking care of everyday things like meals and ironing and gardening.

Afternoon All rain came but only a small shower,
Got to the reference library and someone was already using the same disc i was looking for. but the library woman kindly got the old Microfishe out for me. that was hard work,I had forgotten how to use one of those things it's been a long time since I was on one of those machines, the old records are not in alphabetical order like the disk and it was a long haul winding on & and on till I found the year & name I was looking for and the writing wasn't very clear anyway I struggled on for 1/2 hour, then the other lady was finished and I managed to get on to the computer and it took me 20 mins to find the names of my ancestors and their burial dates and addresses, thankgoodness :-)
Have a good trip Jane, hope the Graduation goes to plan, you will feel one hell of of a proud mum I did when it was daughter no 2 Graduation ceremony
back to my family history work BBL

You're right Frank it IS dragging on! mind you after the last fiasco it seems that it has been going on for ever and ever! in fact our present chap has been with us now for 6 weeks, though it feels like 6 months! The survey should be OK as it's the same surveyor as did one for our first people, and that was OK except for a few minor things. Our place is, what my Granny used to describe as a 'Between Wars' house,ie built in 1937, with an extension put on in 1972. (I know you know that Frank, but younger members might not,- ouch! I felt that!!) It's really these wretched searches that are taking the time, getting 'Local Authorities' to move other than at snailpace seems almost impossible. So sorry about Ros, it must be getting you both down, ill health is just wretched, lets hope that help is just round the corner. Making beefburghers tonight, a speciality, with herbs and pepper, should be good, new spuds and baby carrotts, have to keep our strength up!!!

Morning one and all, Jane, DON't FORGET THE TROUSERS.!!!!!
Not much to report here. Ros had a better day yesterday, not feeling sick. The leg and hip are still playing up. Wish there was something I could do.
I was going to start moving all the branches today, but the barrow is full of compost from the potato sack. I will have to spread that round the garden, before I can move the branches. There's another day tomorrow.
It's a mizzly sort of morning here, you can feel the rain in the air. but not making the ground wet YET.
Glad everything is going along in the right direction David.I am sure Ellen will settle down once she is in, and got all her things around her.
Liz, The sale is starting to drag on now isn't it ???? Is there any chance they will find anything with the survey ???
Jane have a nice couple of days, and hope everything goes to plan.
Looks like your day is taken care of Fiona, hope you find lots of info.
I got a chicken out of the freezer last night. So will get that stuffed a little later, and ready for the oven. You could have cooked mine as well Jane :-D :-D :-D New pots, cauli, my runner beans and broard beans carrots. BBL

Have a good day Jane, I hope all goes well, I'm sure it will, at least it's a bit dryer today!! David I'm sure all will be well with your move; A new place always takes a bit of getting used to, and getting cold feet before a move is quite usual and should soon pass once you've actually 'done it'! Our move trundles on! After weeks of fannying around our buyer now wants a survey!! SO Thursday morning a Surveyor will duly arrive!!! We've also had a load of questions to answer, ie, Building Regs for our stable! (You only need Planning Permission which we've got!) When were our new windows put in? is there a guarantee with them?(Yes, you've got in in the paperwork we sent you!!) and so it goes on!!! Still, hopefully, we'll get there in the end!! Weather a bit better today, but not brilliant! Have been doing some research into a G.Uncle, he was a dear old boy, but some of his exploits during both wars doesn't seem to quite add up!!!!! He obviously never bargained for the Internet where ALL your 'daydreams' can be discovered!!!!!

Morning All,
David I do hope everything goes well for Thursday and that Ellen feels more settled once in your new place.
Fiona have a good hunting trip at the library.
Dryer today here but still overcast. OH has just gone off to Barnstaple to get paper and thin card to do some printing for our friend who is an undertaker. He does the hymn sheets for burials and cremations. It gives him some pocket money.
I must go up the tunnel and water today as I did'nt even go up yesterday.

Morning David. Glad all is going well so far with your move, I hope Ellen settles ok in her new home. we woman become attach to a house and it's memories more than men I think, if our children were brought up there we tend to remember little memories that once happened through their childhood.
Weather dull & cloudy . just hope the rain stays away, Slow cooker on with tonights dinner. OH off to Germany today. he is going to drop me off in town before driving to Edinburgh to catch his plane. I want to go to our local reference library . I believe they hold records on burials at the local Cemetery, I have quite a few ancestors who died in Hamilton and most of them so far were buried in BENT Cemetery, so I have a list of names and dates of more people I wish to look up. Don't have any baby sitting today so I can relax and there's no need to hurry home. Hope everyone has a good day.

I love the bungalow Sheila. We shift on Thursday. All the new neighbours Ive met are friendly. Yesterday my carpet was delivered,it's being fitted today. The gas cooker and washing machine and dishwasher were delivered. The cental heating and every thing else work (as they should). Ellen's not liking it as much as I yet which over a while is bit :-( :-S I'm hoping when we are moved in and she is surrounded by her furniture etc that she will be much happier in it. Were getting too old to choose to be unhappy.
Amazing how much we have to give away isn't it :-)

Frank I agree with you about Sil he did call this afternoon for the clothes and said he was going to mum still just having a short break with his brother in Milan my hubby said you will have a short break your neck. I kept out of it and walked off when he said Sheila I will be back with a fortune one day. My ho said whoes some foolish womens who is mad enough to fall for your patter. I am glad of your opinions I sometimes feel my mind is clouded by the fact I did like him but what a low life.
oh gosh wasnt that naughty about the carrier bag though i have felt guilty all day.

Sheila that is awful for him to make such things up. If he's capable of that, what else might he lie about. Michelle must tell herself she deserves better and I wouldn't give him the money!! I had a chuckle about the bag too! :-D
That little boy playing the violin was Akim Camara I think. He saw Andre when he was age 2 and afterwards asked his mum for a violin. A year later age 3 he was playing for Andre. I often watch him on You*ube, so cute and so good on his tiny violin he always brings a lump to my throat.....aahhh!
Some paint fumes give me a headache and runny eyes Kim...........and I do most of the painting too. Good that Joel appreciates the efforts with his room though. I hope your trip to school got things sorted out.
OH had his last lot of school minutes done for me to check when I got home today. He always had someone else (PA!!) to do any typing when he was at work so it is not his strongest point! I must say he words things brilliantly and has a real knack of how to phrase things though. After months of nothing at the start they have offered him 2 more schools now!!!! He is thinking about it as he doesn't want too much to do!!!! lol
I cooked a dinner today, pork chops with apple, cauli, carrots and beans and pots from the garden! I managed to spill stuff down my top too!!
Pat, what a cheek just taking things like that!! I must say the chaps who did our bathroom and ensuite got through a fair bit of tea and coffee, but I told them it was to keep them going and they only stopped for a lunch break. If I went out, they would wait till I got back. They kept the floors covered and made no mess so they got biscuits the last day!! lol
Jane, you have been busy getting everything ready....and found time for cleaning too!! I do hope Chris is ok too.......can't have the good doctor getting ill for Wednesday!!! :-S :-S
