You can buy those velcro things to turn trousers up too.
David, how's all the work going on the bungalow. when do you move in?
Is Ross feeling better today Frank?
Mandy you are so lucky to live quite close to the sea. that is my dream but I know reality is different so I guess I will never live by the sea.
Standing outside Camden Town tube station yesterday there were loads of Spanish people, and I thought, why on earth would they want to be here in the pouring rain ......

Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend Maureen.......I'd say the DRESS was a big item to have got sorted!!
Now you have me wondering Mandy.......FIL was wearing his braces with a shirt and tie as is usual on Sundays. I just asked OH if they were button ones or clipons. He thinks they were clipons, but said I bet he has some of the other sort too. lol At least he wasn't wearing those elasticated armband things on his long sleeved shirt like I remember dad having when I was little. I think they were for wearing if your sleeves were too long. I seem to remember dad's were metal, like expanding watch straps????
Ahhh, how lovely as a child trotting along with your new bucket and spade!! I loved those painted metal ones we had. They all had pictures on them and it was hard to choose.
Jane we have an EB in the conservatory........very handy for putting a shower towel over the handlebars to dry on a rainy day!!! lol
Could you turn the waistband over inwards on your trousers and either tack it round (with a needle and thread if you have one!!) or hold with a few safety pins on the inside. You might not have to 'hotch' them up then.

EXCERCISE BIKE !!! what's one of those lol.I have a rowing machine thing in the garage.I think it is the spiders that use it,plus I balance the washing basket on the seat when I use the tumble drier Crumbs Ann,like Mandy says .He puts me to shame. Funny you should mention Braces Mandy.James found some red ones that he had as a little boy.The clip on type. Those button on ones had leather bits at the end with the button hole on(if I remember correctly).I doubt they make trousers with the buttons on the inside for braces these days.Bit like suspenders lol I think I had better go and wake Chris up ,otherwise he won't sleep tonight. James is off in about an hour.I better go and check he has everything he needs. He will no doubt tell me to b*g off lol.It is hard not to interfere .(I don't call it that) just being on the ball is what I say No big rain here other than the shower when we were eating outside. It is quite breezy though.

Hi All, have had a busy weekend, was off bridal gown shopping yesterday daughter has found THE dress. I was amazed, the woman in the shop said you will know the dress when you try it on, I was very sceptical, but low and behold one she tried she said this is the one, one more thing ticked off the list. We then spent the rest of the afternoon in a very nice Italian restaurant eating a delicious meal, drinking lots of wine and a mouth watering dessert. Took a walk through Regents Park, and the heavens opened, torrential rain, we had umbrellas so it was fun. Today I have been out for lunch with a friend ......more wine ....... What a nice way to spend a weekend.
That is a lovely photo of you and your brother Sheila. Have you just the one sibling? I have one of me and my brother, must try and put it on here. I was certainly at the front of the queue when they were giving out brothers, even as children he would give me his share of sweeties, and if I was ever in trouble with my mum, which was quite often, I would hide behind him and he ended up with all the smacks as she couldn't reach me.
The good thing about being short Jane, we can always wear high heals to make us taller, not much you can do if you're tall ...lol
Hope your kitchen is all done soon Pat, it will all be worth it in the end.
I thought Aussie winters were like our spring, suppose it depends what part of Australia you're in, can't imagine it being cold there. Have you seen anymore of your phantom face in the bushes Kim ....creepy.
Has anyone else been watching History Cold Case, with those experts from a Scottish University. Really interesting. Last week was about 16 bodies that had been thrown down a dry well in Norwich (your neck of the woods Mandy) dating to the 12th/13th century. I like the face reconstruction so you can see what they may have looked like.
Loved the photos Ann, you're right about those babies, only their mother could love them ....lol
Shirl. you an me could go into business, I could paint the cards and you could do the verse inside.

We've just had thunder and lightening ,it went over really black and now the suns trying to shine, funny old weather !!!
Braces !! that's what you need Jane . FIL use to wear braces ,he had those little buttons inside his trousers at the front and back that you attached them to , now i think they are all clip on ones .
Yes Ann, lots of people about on the beach at Hunstanton , the tide was going out so there's a good bit of beach , plenty of Wind Surfers too and an old car rally on the green . I always sleep well after getting a bit of sea air . I had to smile there was two dad's with their little ones ,they were like a train one behind the other going down a path to the sea , the little ones had buckets and spades ,the girls had pink ,the boys blue and they still had the price tags on them, they were all chattering away ,it was lovely to see. Fancy being able to keep fit like that at his age Ann, he does very well , puts me to shame , i haven't been on my exercise bike for months !!

Glad you put that Mandy........I couldn't remember what it was called!! lol It must be nice to pop to the sea like that and get some lungsful of sea air. Is it very busy at this time of the year?
Well I had to haul myself out of bed early for the flippin tablet regime!! I don't usually eat 4 times a day and on Sundays lunch is usually my first meal, so this morning I had to be up to have a bit of cereal. Still I feel a lot better today so that bodes well.
Called at FIL's this afternoon. He has to have has last 4 teeth out on Tuesday and is, as he put it a 'BL**DER' so has had to see his doctor to see what tablets he can take as he is on blood thinners. OH asked him if he still does his exercises and asked him what he does now. Every day in addition to his RAF arm flings.....think Barbara Windsor in the bikini......he lies on the floor to do crab stretches for his back, hooks his feet under a slightly opened bottom drawer to do a few situps and then does a bit of cycling on our old exercise bike we gave him.....pretty good going for his age!! MIL is no better with her bladder trouble and now has to go for an ultrasound again and a biopsy. The hospital had a look at her bladder with a camera last week and she wasn't impressed at the nurse making her feel a right old dear by asking her if she could manage and offering to take her arm. I tell you, consideration and a good bedside manner is wasted on MIL!!! lol. I would have thought how nice to have an offer of help, even if I could manage.
Sheila, my OH has said he wants to go and see the Cinema performance of Andre in Maastrict even if it is similar to the show we went to!! He said he would rather go to that than see the footie match he was going to that night!!! I was speechless!! lol I end up chucking stuff out like veg and fruit.......OH is always getting more bananas than he eats!!

Anne I haven't had trouble for at least 2 days with the site lol It is getting very frustrating. If it carries on ,I can see quite a few people on the boards leaving. I bet my BIL is glued to the Tour de France .
Sheila ,James is Graduating in Anthropology. Not sure what jobs he is applying for though. Just tried those brown trousers on with new shoes.I might just get away without shortening .As long as I remember to hoik them up now and then I should be ok lol.Oh I do hate being a little shorty That roast pork we had just now was the best I've had in a very long time.It melted in the mouth ,and I managed a good bit of Crackling too. Ann ,you asked how my jaw was.Fine until I had the crackling!!!!!.No a serious note it has been a lot better thanks.I just have to remember to be careful(and not eat things like the Crackling) We had lunch outside.Thank heavens for the Gazebo. It poured for a while ,but at least we stayed dry.I actually like eating out when it is pouring all around. Chris has gone for a lie down.He has been sorting his wardrobe out for Wednesday.Sheesh it looks like a fashion show upstairs with all sorts of things hanging on doors etc.As long as James has decided what shirt and tie he wants to wear and leaves it here with his suit Jacket.I pick his trousers up on Tuesday morning. Please someone remind me !!!!!!!!! He has had to borrow some black socks from Chris as all his seem to have holes in I feel quite exhausted with all this preparation for Graduations and Weddings lol.Just give me the simple life.I will enjoy it all though

Been lovely and sunny at the coast , but we ran into a shower coming home .
Jane, you could make some lovely jam with the damsons too.
You need some Wundaweb for your trousers it's an iron on hemming tape , you turn them up and just iron it on ,use a steam iron , no stitching needed at all ,its so easy to use ,if you go wrong with it you just use the steam iron to ease it off again .

Sorry to say I am very lazy Frank never got up until 11.30 am Fiona you do well getting up at that time 7.30 I get up early if I am going over to Beryls or somewhere but today it was raining so I stayed in bed.
Kim I did not realise it was Winter in Australia silly me sorry. How are you today How lovely going to James graduation Jane what is he going to do and major in. Have I got the right word. well anyway you know what I mean.
i did what Amanda did some time ago and my poor peas were doomed that Sophia gave me. Sophia made such a fuss over giving me some garden peas and I forgot to use them. She saw them in my veggie basket and was waving her hands around like she was having a fit. I giver you the pea and you not use pea. I said ok Sophia sorry lets go and shell peas in the lounge. There we were sitting shelling peas round the coffee table. I nicked one every now and again and they did not taste of anything. I put them in the saucepan bunged in some salt and sugar while Sophia was not looking and popped them on the electric cooker. Big ring. Sophia was sitting yaking for ages about her new knickers that she had made and I suddenly smelt burning .Sophia goes rushing to the kitchen and is shouting Sheila my peases are gone up in flame . I went into the kitchen and the toxic smoke nealy choked me took off the sauceman and tipped water into the remains of the blackened peas did it sizzle and there was a blackened pea pattern all over one of my best saucepans Sophia was spluttering in the smoke and you could smell smoke everywhere. Three heads came in saying is something burning I was like a gramaphone record yes peas. The place still smells of smoke and poor Sophia said I never givva you the pea again.
My ho is funny about Beryl he does not like her and to think he went out with her years ago. She lost my earing she borrowed necking on a park bench. Gave me one back. I pull my ho s leg over that. He once went out with a very busty young women in the days when white polo neck jumpers were fashionable and bras that made your chest look pointed strung up round your neck. I saw him one night after he had taken me out kissing her in the bus stop. I never spoke to him for a week. He said it was his couson I said you kiss your couson on the lips and he said yes I am rather fond of that couson.
Oh my gosh someone else suffered like me on a perm machine I do feel sorry for you .I wanted plaits like my friend not frizzy straw hair .I will change my picture and show you all my frizzy hair later on. Can put the other one back later.
I find this site a bit funny just lately I get parrots up a lot.
Annx my hubby was dead envoius when I told him you had seen Andre. He cannot wait for the cd i ordered for him to come. Bye for now troubles just arrived in the form of Sophia bang goes my peaceful afternoon. I bet she goes on about peas.

It has stopped raining!!! I have managed a quick walk around the village before it starts again. I am having great difficulty with this site today as it keeps refusing me entry into my tree and tells me that there are no results for people in records. I am really getting tired of this and may change sites later in the year when my subs are due. Feeling irritable so off to watch the cycle racing

They will make lovely damson gin Jane. Go round with a big basket and get the ripest ones and only use cheap gin. No need for the good stuff as the damsons will do thei best.
I must just tell you this. I use Car*x hand wash int he kitchen and had washed my hands with it after side shooting the toms yesterday. Then I decided I needed a wee so off I went and washed my hands after with soap. You should have seen the green that came off my hands with soap which had'nt come off with the hand wash!!!!!!!

Thanks Mel.
Well I bought 2 pairs of shoes .One pair very comfy but not as smart as the other pair and they weren't so comfy. They will be going back. I have a bit of a dilemma now .I was going to wear cream trousers to James Graduation, but have decided that my cream Jacket is not right with them .Have got some nice brown trousers which will look much better but they are too long.I doubt I will find anyone in time to shorten them for me now. .I don't know anyone with a sewing machine.Oh I wish I had taken more interest in needlework at school.I don't think I dare attempt to turn them up myself.Life is so blooming complicated
