Have a nice lazy day ahead of me, unlike Jane who I guess will be pretty busy now James is home and just think of all those muddy clothes when Hannah gets back. I thought rain and mud was par for the course for Glastonbury wouldn't be the same otherwise, I bet she's having a whale of a time.
Sounds like a great trip Ann,something our other Anne would enjoy, all that wildlife. I bet you slept well last night.
I've sold quite a few things on e.bay. Here are a couple of tips Ann, get the postage right, if you see others selling the same kind of items take their postage as a guide. Also get your description worded so that there are no come backs. eg. don't say "perfect condition", or "as new", if there are a few marks on the item, better to say "almost like new" It's quite good fun when you get bids on your item but be prepared for no bids at all.

Frank. I have never sold anything on Ebay......is it easy? Like you I have stuff I will never use anymore and could do with selling it. We hardly need posh clothes anymore either and as OH would say, they have all SHRUNK!!! lol I still have my tap shoes in the loft somewhere and the leotard type things I wore with them!! lol

Ahoy there me hearties!!! lol
Well we were so lucky yesterday.......no rain and lovely evening sunshine at Rutland. It was really good and very well run, with a short talk and presentation first with our biccies and drinks. You can borrow binocs free to take if you don't have any. Then we travelled to the other side of the reservoir to WHITWELL where the boat leaves from, (next to the Barnsdale turn Frank!!). It is a private company that runs the boat......crew were in spotless white shirts and ties and the boat was cleaner than my house!! Access to the boat was easy and flat and I managed to climb up on the top although you could sit inside below if you wanted (there was a bar in there too) Tim, who was looking for and pointing out the birds told us it was the best trip he had been on in the last 6 years for seeing them. We followed one bird for the length of the trip and he did dive for fish a few times but didn't catch any. Tim said the water was a bit murky with the wind blowing and the bird would have difficulty seeing the fish. He said they catch up to 8 fish in a day........not always from the reservoir!!!!! I got a few pics, but they fly too high for my camera range really. OH thought it would be the boat trip he would enjoy, but he enjoyed it all so much he has already told me we will go again next year, but for one of the dawn cruises........with breakfast included after!!!!! lol Guess what we called for on the way home.......fish and chips!! lol I will send a few pics when I have sorted them. Yes, Jane, my hair was standing on end by the time we got back!! lol
I bet James is enjoying just 'chilling' after getting home with all his stuff and getting it into the house. Jane's washing machine is going to be busy for a while I think, the fridge will empty more quickly and Chester will be wondering who is on walkies duty now!! lol I wonder how Hannah is coping with the mud?? :-S I saw someone in the paper with their stuff in a wheelbarrow......good idea.
I remember wet wellies chafing Mandy, when you had to take your socks off because you paddled in water that came over the tops of them or had worn a hole in them but hadn't realised!!

Jane, we have had the cloud, but no rain. White clouds now and a bit breezy.
I have done it !!!! I managed to find my photo of the futon, and is now on sale on Ebay. What a clever boy I am !!!! Will have to sort out other things and get those sold.Dress shirts, a dinner suit with ties ,cumber band. Shoes, slacks.Overcoat. I never use them anymore since I retired, as we don't go out to DO'S anymore.!!! and I doubt they would fit now. !!!

Morning all,
Just poped in to see how you are.
Pat, I hope the loss adjuster finds everything is OK. Is there anywhere you can go, while the work is carried out ??? It must be hell living and working around the mess.
Harvey went to pick up the "BED CHAIR" last night. We are meeting him later to tranfer to our car, and bring home, Hope I can manage to bring it in from the car. I Don't seem to be able to get a photo of the Futon onto my Ebay description of the item. Will have to do it soon as I haven't the space for both in the conservatory. Look out GARAGE more coming your way !!!!!!If I can get it in.
Glad the children are home/ arrived Jane, save to having to worry.
Ann, Hope you have your "LAND LEGS" now. Did you enjoy yourself ??? I hope so. I have been round Rutland a few times but never on a boat. Where does it set off from ????
When I was about 10 years old. I was fishing in our local river (the Roding MEL) and the fair was in town. A group of Fair boys tried to steal my fishing kit. fortunatly a few friends were around the bend of the river, and I shouted for them. We gave the "tea leaves" a good hiding and they ran off. We are lucky round here we don't see many gipsies, but I always make sure everywhere is locked up anyway.

Mandy when we first started going on holiday to places where there are lots of beggars,i` was a real softy and would give money even if it was just a few Lira or Pesetas. Now I have to say I have got a bit tougher even if it goes against my conscience and I don't give.(well maybe now and then lol). James is just leaving Canterbury after having the House Check done by the Landlord.Says he will need a shower when he gets home after all the packing up and cleaning lol.I bet he Whiffs.I told him he has a nice clean bathroom and clean towels all ready and waiting ,and his bedroom has been cleaned and scrubbed.(He won't notice ) :-( :-( I feel sorry for Hannah and her friends setting up the tent in the rain and wind.Hopefully it will blow over .I'm so glad I will be sleeping in a nice comfy bed ;-)
Chris just informed me there is dead young bunny under the Hazelnut Tree. Guess who had to go and pick it up???Yep Me!.He reckons he shot it.Yeah Right! lol.I think he is :-S :-S

I remember when we were on holiday on one of the Greek islands , think it was Zante , we were having our evening meal the little gypsy children would come round the tables selling roses , the waiter's would shoo them away as they were eyeing up ladies handbags ready to pinch them!!! fancy sending children in to do that !!!
I was shocked to see how the gypsy's lived some of them came to one of the beaches we went to they had lorries they lived in ,and they slept under the lorry in compartments , imagine in all the heat being closed in like that .
Ohhhh , no socks with wellies, they can draw your feet , i can just feel the blisters !!!

Mandy ,those thieves ,tend to just go for the cash. When I was there in Barcelona they were even wanting food off my plate!!!!! I bet your jam will be scrummy.
It is a beautiful evening here,so hopefully Ann has had the same. The wind has died down.I bet her hair is all over the place and she will have a wonderful windswept look lol. Hannah arrived and had a 4hour queue in the rain!!!!!!.(and mud). They couldn't carry everything in one go so had to go back to the car for the second lot.She is absolutely Cream Crackered. She had a late night and a very early start ,and she did the driving.Hopefully the rain will have passed over now,as I know they are having a BBQ tonight.I am not sure that she took any socks with her.Imagine wearing wellies with no socks !!
Fiona I hope that heartburn settles down for you.Good thing you have had a restful day. Yes I have been wondering where Sheila is.I hope she hasn't had any more Heart trouble .It's been quite a few days since we heard from her .
That poorly Bunny is still around!.It's awful to see it.I think it going blind now and is very slow.Chester was a whisker away from getting it,but I shouted at him to "LEAVE"as I couldn't bare to see him get it.I expect Chris will turn into Elmer Fudd later and stalk it lol

Jane it was along the A 45 just before the Kettering turn off.
As I said yesterday there were no showers in any houses, that I knew of. My bath night was Sat. The boiler was lit to get a tank of hot water. Then Bill went in. then Mary and Jean and last but not least. Ted and I. Mum would put a handful of washing soda in the hot water. That helped keep the water softer. Then a bar of household soap. the stuff to cut lumps off of as you needed it. No purfumed soap till I was old enough to buy it. Then you kept it away from the others. I remember my sister had "GORDON MOORES TOOTHPASTE" it would make your gums go red, which made your teeth look whiter.!!!!! :-D :-D :-D

evening all had a real lazy day, just pottered about doing not a lot, dozed on the couch this afternoon, watched some TV ,read my book. waiting for daughter no 2 to say she has finished work and will be up for dinner. must have drank at least 5 glasses of water today, on & off the loo most of the afternoon but it is helping to keep the burning pain to a minimum. still tired but have had a good rest.

Don't speak too soon Frank you may get my weather tomorrow. I had this funny vision of burgers and buns flying through the air and people driving past wondering if it was raining burgers .......
Haven't finished yet Jane, got to take the ironing back soon, then I can relax, am looking forward to this weekend. At least I'll get a rest and I like not having to think about what to get for dinner.
