Jane, I heard the forcast for Glastonbury, dry for most part, rain on Saturday, but brightens up again Sunday. Hope Hannah has a good time. I Can't remember having these concerts when I was younger. I bet you can't wait to get James home, and then Hannah's return on Monday. It will give you something to do.
When we bought the other Village shop, the bloke that owned wouldn't sell to me. So I got a friend to buy it for me. We tradsfered everything to Ros and I the same day he signed contracts. The place had been in the family for over 100 years. It was a big place, which we had to GUT. and start from scratch. Fortunatly we kept the old shop till all the alterations were done. When the builders took down the upstairs ceilings, they got a HAYSTACK out of the loft, from all the birds nest over the past 100 years. That is no joke !!! The storeroom for the shop was an earth floor, the roof two railway carriage roofs. the rest was corregated iron sheets. I called the Local Health Dept. when the inspector saw it. HE SAID. he couldn't believe that nobody had visited the place, and had they done so it would have been closed down. Then I could have bought for half the priceWhen the store room was dissmantled they found skeletons of 5 cats. stuck in the roof. In the back of this dirty hole I found box's of meat paste from before the last war. When we sold,it was a beautiful 3 double bedroom, 50 foot lounge 20 foot kitchen, Bathroom with walk in shower and jacusi bath. That was only the flat above the shop.
Pat, I hope it won't be long before to get sorted out. Is all this trouble from your neighbours leak ??? :

I just remembered her ticket for Glastonbury was still on the pinboard!!!!. I just need her to go now ,then I have 24hours breathing space before James arrives tomorrow night.Yikes!.Oh for a peaceful life :-S :-S can't see that happening for a long time yet :-S :-S

Oh you poor thing Pat......6 months IS a long time. I remember when my first OH gutted a kitchen in a house we'd moved to. The pantry was knocked into it so the wall that was knocked out had the pipes to the sink taps on it and they were left just dangling from the ceiling with the taps at the ends!! The dust that got everywhere in the house was unbelievable. I seem to remember using the camp stove we had for a week or two. I would have got really down if it had taken as long as yours though. Lets hope it will be steaming ahead soon.
I feel so sorry for your neighbour Kim, I bet she is heartbroken and hardly getting any sleep at all. I can understand her shutting herself away for a while, it must be hard for her to cope with the grief she feels and she probably doesn't feel at all sociable whilst she thinks she may get upset.
Maureen, I just imagined you doing a war dance on the old shed timbers!! I bet there is a big space now ready for the new shed. You did well not injuring yourself.......my OH would probably have needed two plasters and splinters removing!! lol. Mind you he loves smashing things up! lol It sounds like baby Harry is doing well.
David, I hope you have deep pockets with all that you are having done. :-0 It is brilliant being able to do a lot before you move in though.......it will seem like a new bungalow.
Fiona, before my OH was diagnosed I remember one time he just ate things like fish in white sauce with mash and peas. Anything bland......cooked apple seemed ok too. It is a horrid feeling, I do hope they sort you out soon.

evening all
Just had a baked potato for dinner , not really hungry due to this heartburn I have at the moment , daughter no 2 & boyfriend in the kitchen making cakes, All of a sudden she wants to learn how to make cakes, so I have left them to it, boyfriend enjoys cooking, I don't mind as long as they clear up after themselves, in fact I think I will take away the door key and they won't get out untill they do lol :-D

Funny you say that about the card coming out in half Mandy. When I was a Tes** I put my card in the machine by the till.It was in such a really awkward position the the card almost bent when I put it in the slot. The cashier said that last week he used the same one and it snapped his card in half!!.Told me to complain to the management lol I can't even begin to describe my dream last night. It was sooooo weird. But so real !.Dog and Rabbits were involved. Just seen the weather forecast and it will be 26 degrees on Sunday!!!.SHORTS. :-D :-D

Evening everyone ,
It's been quite a nice day here , i sat out for a while with my book , then i tackled my pile of ironing and got it all done and put away.
I had a strange dream last night , had to put my debit card under an umbrella to get the money out , the screen was sideways on so that you had to turn your head to see it ,and then my card came out in half !! went in to complain and was told as i had damaged the card i had to pay £5 , well i got on my high horse and shouted at the women that i hadn't damaged the card the machine has chewed it up !!!! and i certainly had no intention of paying £5 , i said i would close the account first before i would pay that amount LOL
Pat , how awful for you having to live all this time without a kitchen how ever do you manage ? no wonder you feel low , you have a moan when ever you like ,we're all here for you . Perhaps Jane is right ,is it that your neighbors wall is still damp stopping yours from drying out .

Oh Pat,it must be dreadful. My niece suffered in the Tewkesbury Flooding. They actually lost everything.I am surprised that the builders didn't remove the plaster in the beginning.I'm sure thats what they did in my nieces's house. I'm not surprised you can't get motivated. You must be very depressed about the whole thing. You can have a good old moan to us here anytime you feel the need. One thing I just thought of .Is your neighbours wall damp still?Could it be coming through still to your side?
My sister rang a little while ago to say they have exchanged contracts on the house,so all being well they will move on the 1st.
I was going to do Haddock and Gruyere Gratin for dinner, but I think it will be a bit hectic with Fanny Anny getting her stuff all together and packing my car up so I'm doing Pasta and sauce lol.It will have to be fish tomorrow now.
Is it today that Anne gets back from Jersey?

Busy day Lintel up wall down, skip half full. Plastering started but won't be completed until Thusrday. A day or two to dry before decorating. Will have to get a carpet fitters estimate real soon.
New kitchen sink being fitted later this week and units re-arranged to accommodate cooker and freezer.
Ellen's got some one to renew the gutters and soffits. Never get in the way of a busy enthusiastic woman

Crikey Pat, I'm not surprised you get a bit down living with a kitchen like that, it's probably the most used room in the house. I can't even bear it if the garden is a mess, like it is right now. Have pulled down the shed, broken up quite a lot of the wood so it will fit in my little car and will get to the tip tomorrow with it all, and I only ended up with one little scratch on my arm, normally much worse, especially stamping on wood to break it, one half usually flies up and hits me on the head. David you have the right idea, get it all done before you move in.
Daughter came over with baby Harry yesterday, he is really filling out in just a few weeks and is much more content now. We even managed to get into Harrow for some shopping and of course I couldn't resist buying him an outfit.
That complaint sounds really uncomfortable Fiona, the only time I've ever had heartburn was when I was pregnant. It was Christmas and I just couldn't refuse Christmas Pudding, boy did I pay for it after.

We had another phone call today to say another one had been faxed though...We are now waiting for the loss adjuster and the builders to turn up for the third time....I hope they dont find it still wet..
Our kitchen and bathroom backs onto next doors etc..
On top of that they have been keeping and eye on the bathroom wall over the sink....Twice that has been dried out !!!!! The third drying people who came out said this wouldnt dry unless the plaster was taken off..which they have since done...Along with some tiles...
We now will have to wait until we see them to know what they will be doing in there..
After 6 months this has really got me down and I go very quiet... So it is nice to come on here from time to time..We all seem to have a lot of things going on around us lol

Hi All
Not done a lot really today..I cant get motivated.
I havent had a proper kitchen for about 6 months...
After comming back home on that dreadful day in Dec...we found our kitchen floor covered in water. At first we thought the freezer had gone..Then hubby went upstairs to see if we had a leek under the bath as the water was comming though the ceiling..we hadnt.
We then realised the water was comming from next door...He was away still and we had been a way for a few days..
since feb we have had no units apart from the one balancing the sink....The kitchen ceiling has been taken down ...All the plaster is off the walls and the floor tiles taken up.. We have had so many mishaps with people we are stressed... Three times the drying people have been in...and set up dehumidefiers in the kitchen....Twice it has been signed off as dry and the builders have been in and said it is still wet in places,,,
A different company took their equipment away 2 weeks ago..And we had been waiting for the drying cert to turn up... After numerous phone calls we were told .. that it hadnt been sent off.....

Kim ,I had problems with that email.I jammed or something and I had to close down the computer. All you can do is let Glenda know you are there whenever she needs you. It's very difficult when you feel you don't know what to do for someone in her situation.I do hope she will be alright.
Mel ,James will be home late tomorrow evening.Hannah will be off to Glastonbury at about 4am.Thankfully she will be going to a friends tonight and so setting off from there.I do need to clear the car of my CDs,sunglasses, etc ,before she takes it over tonight.I won't bother to clean it though lol
Ann will PM you.

Hello everyone,
Really buggered, so I'm just popping my head in for a minute really quickly.
Weather has been lovely, until this afternoon when the black clouds gathered and down came the rain. There has been a huge dumping of snow on the Blue Mountains and it has cut the main highway west. I can't recall the last time that happened or even if it has ever happened before.
Frank thanks I am getting there, but we miss him so. Very worried about Glenda his wife. So lonely in there and Brett their son has gone off to respite for a week for a break. Keith found her in tears last night and today she fell asleep in the car in the driveway. Wish I could help her more. All we can do is keep an eye on her and give as much support as she will accept. She has locked all the doors and shut everything out. What can we do??? Hope your tummy has settled down today.
Did anyone receive my email about the Russian churches as Shirl wasn't able to open it? They are so spectacular.
Sorry I will read everyone's posts tomorrow. I need to put myself on the couch or fall off this chair. Mel so pleased you received some photos from your Oz connection. I think that would be brilliant. I have no photos of extended family, apart from some in old newspapers and they are pretty good. You can get lucky sometimes :-)
It is 11.38 pm EST here and if I was sensible, I would be tucked up in bed with the "wise one". As I'm not I shall just watch the box. Nigh nigh all xx

Frank the doctor has already told me to only take Gavis#### for 6 weeks, I have done 3 already so another 3 to go then they will check my white blood cells count through another blood test, and see if they have improved. sometimes the Gav#### works but other times it doesn't and then thats when I need to take something stronger for the acid reflux build up. the burning pain underneath my ribs can sometimes last up to 4or 5 hours.it's awful
Annx, your OH symptoms just sound like mine. the doctor did give me stronger medication to cope with them but they have found out that my white blood cells are lower than they should be so I can't take the med untill I stop for a few weeks and then have another blood test.
Still pouring down here looks like it's here to stay.

Morning All,
More lovely sunshine today and another load of washing done and ironed courtesy of Mr Annx!! :-)
You won't be straying far today then Frank.......not while your white friend needs you! :-S My word Ros is lucky to have a ring like that, it must be a very nice one. You have reminded me that I need to get mine (smaller) revalued for insurance.
I had another disturbed night too.........that flippin alarm again at about 1.00am and then the baby Crows again at 5.00am. Then OH had to get up a bit later to scare off the raucous Magpies on the roof!! Some nights I wonder why I bother going to bed at all. lol
Jane, the last time I used fablon was on the garage door window at the back to give it a frosted appearance. It can't have been easy fiddling with it on shelves in a cupboard.....
Fiona, my OH has had acid reflux problems for a long time and has medication, but still pays for it if he goes off the rails with what he eats! I think fatty foods, fizzy drinks, alcohol, spicy foods, caffeine and eating late can all be a problem. He also gets problems if he eats too much white bread, but brown is fine. He sleeps propped up on 3 pillows and that helps. Pity he loves pork scratchings, cheese and fizzy pop!!
I had a trip to the dentist this morning for a check up........luckily things are ok.
I'm off to plant the 2 tall pots now.......didn't manage it the other day. They are plastic ones (too heavy for me at that size otherwise) but look like dark gey granite.
I see the weather forecast gives thunderstorms around here for tomorrow........and we are due to go on a boat on Rutland Water to see the Ospreys!! Will it be safe I wonder......

I spoke to soon this morning, have had to visit my white friend 3 times this morning. I have taken a couple of Imod### so that should help.
While in the shower this morning, I started thinking of some of the old Radioprogrammes. "WORKERS PLAYTIME" ITMA" ROUND THE HORN" Billy cottons bank show, Two way Family favourites., in town tonight. A lot of these would be before some of you CHILDREN can remember.
Washing on the line blowing away. Ros won't let me put it out, I do it wrong !!!! Must keep an eye on the weather.
I see our Jane is a busy "LITTLE" BEE this morning. Don't meen yourself coming back. as they say. Has the doctor been able to sort you out Fiona, I have always found Gavis### or Renni## have worked for me.
