Afternoon All,
We are getting downpours now after a nice, sunny morning too.
I bet everyone will be glad when they have found out what is the matter with your DIL's father Mandy. As you say, he is no age.
Jane do you think the 'opening wide' at the dentist might have damaged/overstretched your jaw? I know sometimes it is hard to close your mouth when it has been wide open for a long time in that chair. Quiet Frank!!! lol 'Me duck' is heard a lot in these parts too. lol I hope James doesn't have a hangover today. When will his girlfriend know her results?
My mum used to get me and my sister's names mixed up too.......all the time.
I went and bought 2 pink and white geraniums this morning for the pots that will go each side of the arbour. Of course now I want some more compost and other plants to go with them. The pots are quite tall, so I'll put a brick at the bottom, then some polystyrene in the bottom halves. They shouldn't blow over then, be lighter to move around and use less compost!

Hi Jane I'm here, Went food shopping this morning , then took MIL down to the garden centres , she loves to walk around the plants and the Scottish craft shops.
Conratulations to James, he has done brilliant, another graduation soon
WELL!!!!!! yesterday was a lovely day, shame about the weather though it poured down most of the time. :-(
we left home about 7.45 running a little late but not to bad, the drive was ok, everyone apart from OH was dozing in the car not used to getting up so early, daughter had an upset stomach , it seems that some of the staff at her works have been off with a virus or something so she she was hopeing she would be ok for the rest of the day.
We arrived about 9.20 in Galashiels parked the car and went into the church were the ceramony was to take place , Old Parish and St Paul's , it was a beautiful church, Daughter and boyfriend went to collect daughters robe and then the rest of us we went for a walk round the building, There actully is a stained glass window there which was dedicated to the church by the Scottish College of Textiles following a merger of the instituion with Heriot Watt University in 1998
we were able to find a seat and just sit and appreciate the place while other folks came in and out , Ceremony started about 11.00 the first 8 pews were taken up with the students and the rest of the church was where the parents etc sat we all had to stand when when all the professors walked in in there long colourfull robes in a long procession. There was many speeches that seem to take ages and ages, and one of the most inportant people who was recieving the DOCTOR OF LETTERS AWARD was the comendian Rory Bremner for recognition of his distguished contributions to broadcasting and entertainment as an impressionist a comedian and playwright.
Then there was the graduation ceremony and of course lots of clapping and cheers when it was your daughter or sons turn. after the ceromony the was a musical recital from the Director of Music a Dr S king he played some classical music on the violin. then some more speeches, and then we a left the church, and went a cross the road, to another building which was in beautiful gardens where there was tables with sparkling wine, orange juice and srawberries , all the students were able to relax and speak to there famies and teachers. Daughters boyfriend took some photo's here and I had my camera too. it was drizzeling with rain the whole time. after the photo session daughter took her robe back and we went to the car , traveled to Peebles and stopped of at one of the pubs for lunch, it was a very nice day, and we were all very tired but very proud of daughter no2. when we got home we gave daughter her kindle and she was very happy.
I have a few photo's which were taken with my camera , I will e-mail them to you all

Mel all the local people here call everyone 'me duck'.Don't think you would be too happy about that lol
Mandy, good job all tests and scans are being done today. Is he elderly?
My temporary crowned tooth itself is not causing me trouble but the jaw ache has shifted to where the bottom jaw meets the top one, just in front of my ear.If I put my fingers on either side of my face where top and bottom jaws meet and open my mouth I can feel the jaw on the right move before the left one.Like it is out of kilter.Chris think it is something to do with that tooth and when the bite was wrong has done something to the joint.I don't know whether to go back to the Dentist or not. When I yawn I can't open my mouth as wide as I need.(Frank will say thats a good thing lolol)
No Fiona today.I hope she got back safely yesterday.Or was she staying overnight?

Afternoon everyone,
Heavy showers here this morning ,now bright sunshine .
The latest news from the hospital on DIL's father is that he had a comfortable night ,he had a chest xray last night ,he's got to have a TC scan today so at the moment he's having some sort of fluid ready for the scan ,he also has to have Ultrasound tests , so it looks as if he's having the works to try and find the reason for the turns , son said when he has one he looks quite yellow in the face !!
Pat, my dad would some times call me by my sisters name, but a lot of the time he would tell people i was his baby girl , the baby girl of the family he would say !!! We're off out tonight with sister and BIL for a meal , just to a country pub ,but it does lovely food , i must not have a starter this time, i just can not eat three courses any more and i do like my pud !! naughty but nice !!
Meant to ask Jane , has your tooth settled down ,haven't heard you say much about it lately.
Must get a shirt ironed for hubby ,why is it the one he picks out is always creased ? when it goes in the wardrobe its all nicely ironed !!!

I did find myself saying things to my son when he was young, that mum sauid to me and thought then how things get arried trough the families! Grandad Beech always called me Duck which I hated as a child and his wife, nan would call me Ducks :-(

I need to sort out the landing cupboards today and have a bit of a clear out. There are old sheets, duvet covers ,old towels that you could spit peas through. They need to be chucked out ,and then there will be some extra room for some of James's things.
My Mum used to call Janice and me by the Cat's names before getting the right one lol.We were called Peter,Rudie Jerry. :-S :-S

But she gets muddled herself now... lol

SATURDAY.
Morning All,
Sun is out here for now anyway. We had a squirel round the bantam houses when I looked out first thing.
It rained cats and dogs last night before I went to bed and I have just been out to feed the birds and our little round drain cover is all clogged up with grit and stuff that has washed down our road. I shall have to go and clear it out.
Mandy any news on DIL's Father this morning. I hope he had a better night than he did day yesterday, poor man. He is in the best place though if he had another nasty turn with all the nurses on hand.
The title at the top of the page is for the benefit of Jane and myself because I have'nt known what day it is this week either. Thats the trouble when you break routine and go shopping on different days. Going yesterday I think today is Tuesday!! and I have'nt been shopping on a Monday for weeks :-S

Oh, Mandy you can't believe it can you, 'has he got an appointment'!! Shame about the summer fayre, I bet little Jake was disappointed.
My hair is all trimmed and feels a lot better now. The basin wasn't as low as it sometimes is, so the head massage was very enjoyable today, could have nodded off quite easily. My hairdresser told me she had got her car back from being repaired yesterday, a Porsche......same as my previous hairdresser had!!! When did hairdressers become so well paid they could run cars like that? No wonder my hair costs more than the rest of me to maintain!!! lol
We got a new stand today for the water butt that's moving behind the greenhouse. Now we just need to get a slimline one for behind the shed to replace it. Better get one soon too, we got a couple more showers today!!
Thanks for all the emails everyone.......

It is hours Jane , he went to the hospital just after ten this morning .
I had to smile though ,little Chelsea said" is there a Television in the ambulance for Grandad Noel to watch , and a toilet if he needs to go " lol i think she thought he was still in there !!!
Ann, DIL's been very worried , that's why we stayed with her ,but we came away because it was the little ones bed time and they won't settle if they know were down stairs !!
It was a shame about the fare , they all work so hard getting it all ready ,and it helps to boast school funds !!
Jane, have you got the Champagne on ice for when James gets home :-D

Evening All,
:-D :-D Congratulations James and well done!! :-D :-D. He has a ready smile anyway Jane, but I bet he's been grinning from ear to ear since he found out.
It sounds like your friend and neighbour had a huge turn out Kim. He was obviously very well thought of.
Maureen, that is excellent service from Ar*os, pity they don't all do that. You'll have to look on the bright side till the shed gets moved!! lol It is a good excuse for not cleaning in there!! I bet you have a lovely free pine scent too!! lol
Mel, you are like me.......spotted the potential in that old trough........our OH's don't have 'vision' like we do. Had I better duck now!! I grow those mixed salad bowl lettuce too, they seem to last much longer.
Well, I ate my first banana with the skin on.......need I say more!! Still not my favourite fruit and they have to be just ripe with no brown spots for me to eat them.
Mandy I hope your DIL's father is ok. She must be very worried.
