Well done to James for all his hard work ,there will be a few sore heads in the morning with all the celebrations !!!
Jane , you have every right to be proud of him ,congratulations :-)

Well, son and DIL's mother are still at the hospital , doctors think DIL's father has an infection ,he had a Hernia op about 4/5 weeks ago and they not sure if they will have to operate again ,one doctor has said they will ,another doctor said he might come home tomorrow !!! at the moment he's in the waiting room waiting for a bed !!!
When son took his FIL straight to the doctors ,MIL went in and said my husband has taken ill in the car could a doctor see him , the receptionist asked has he got an appointment !!!
A doctor came out in the end and checked him over and rang for an ambulance straight away .

We went to Jake's summer Fare , we were there about ten minutes when it started to rain and it got harder and harder !!! we had to come home it was a total wash out !!
We went back home with DIL and had tea with them ,when we came home some of the roads were awash it was bubbling out the drains !!!
its eased up a bit now ,won't need to water tonight lol

Kim it sounded like a fantastic turn out for Rod,and how lucky that the sun shone for his send off.

Shirl ,does it feel like 56 years since you left Bonnie Scotland?Do you think you will come back to visit sometime?

Well we still haven't had any heavy rain. It's been a funny old day,and there isn't a breath of wind outside.

Maureen, DARK DISSMAL DAY I think. Madam will no doubt tell you. !!!

!
Ros, has two banana's and two apples in the fruit dish She won't eat ripe ones they have to be almost green. Which brings me to a story. "Do you want to hear a story" MAX BYGRAVES. My 2nd Eldest brother who was in the army during the war. Came home on leave after returning from Malaya. He walked into our Primary school, and into our class room, asked the teacher if he could take my twin and I home early as he was passing the school, from the railway station. When he got Home mum unpacked his kit bag, and in it was a massive hand of Banana's. Never having seen one before I wondered what it was. They were still unripe, So mum put them in the airing cupboard to RIPPEN OFF. a couple of days later I went to the cupboard and took one. It tasted revolting, and put me off Banana's for many years.. Another little memory.

I'll give you "don't touch the BACKSPACE" you little monkey, how can I go back if I dont????

Pleased that all went well yesterday Kim. That was somwe sort of send off. Wasn't it ????

Getting a bit cocky now posting away, I had better send it, before I loose it. !!!!

MEgirl Report 17 Jun 2011 15:35

I'll drink to that!! Has everybody hit the bottle in the last day or so???? I had a couple of gin and tonics yesterday which set me up very nicely for the rest of the afternoon until it was time to go home :-D

I might have a Bailey's and ice tonight!!! Hello everyone, no I haven't become a complete plonkhead, although it is tempting at the moment.

I have just come back to this post - sorry a bit all over the place. Just had a game of Scrabble with my two boys. Joel won tonight by a "miracle mile".

Rod had a very fitting send off yesterday with 500+ people attending his funeral at Palmdale. Just before we left home, the rain stopped and the clouds parted. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon - the police formed a guard of honour as Glenda and the family walked into the chapel. I don't think I have ever attended a sadder funeral. Keith provided some light relief with a few stories of Rod's antics in the street. We heard of his police career and his extensive work as the main police officer involved in all of the autopsies and liaison with the coroner on the Central Coast. He was instrumental in the setting up major programmes for the victims of crimes and their families. It is no wonder it took such a toll on his health. Apart from all that, he was quite a character and was threatened with the sack on a few occasions. I am so glad he was one our boys in blue helping to protect our community. We adjourned to the Ourimbah RSL for afternoon tea and beverages of all sorts. I was so happy to see so many of our neighbours there to support the family. I have to say I was thinking of all of you yesterday. Jane your Chester would have had a ball running around chasing all the bunnies in the grounds.

Yes I have heard about the Listerine being effective against Mozzies. They love my blood. I cover myself with Aero-gard and they still bite me!!!

Annx, I have not heard the word "fractious" in years. My kindergarten teacher used to make us have a nap after lunch, so that we wouldn't be "tired and fractious". We all knew what she was talking about, of course :-D

Hope you are all having a good day. It is 12.31 am here. What am I still doing up. Off to watch Question Time, that's bound to put me to sleep. Our PM's been a very naughty girl. I think they will get rid of her before much longer. We need another election and fast!!!!

Cheers, Kim xxxxxx

It's a clean the house day today, as it's raining on and off all the time.

Must be going a bit brain dead, it took me a few seconds to get that Mel, banana and two lemons .....LOL ........

Shed has arrived. I'm quite impressed with Arg**s delivery service. They ring you to arrange a day, then give you three option times on that day and the driver rings about an hour before they arrive to let you know he's on his way. Goodness knows how long the flat pack will be sitting in my living room though. Still got to get the old shed down, too wet today.

Hope Fiona is enjoying her daughter's graduation day. I remember my daughter's graduation from Lincoln. I went with eldest daughter. SIL got all the train times and how long this would take, how long that would take, his last words to us were Don't miss the train, what happened, we were running down the steps of the station as the train doors were closing. We managed to get there to see her receive her diploma, quite good in a way as we missed all the boring back slapping speeches.

Hasn't James heard yet Jane, I bet you jump everytime the phone rings.
