Morning everyone,

Sunny here at the moment ,but there's talk of rain later , we should be going to a Summer Fare at Jake's school at one thirty, so i hope the rain keeps away until thats over.

Hope all goes well for Fiona and her family .
And Jane , i hope James gets good news later .

Just had a phone call that DIL's father was shopping in Tes*o's and had a funny turn , he rang son to see if he could drive them home as he felt bad ,kept going over hot and cold , son took him to the doctors and at the moment he's in the back of an ambulance !!! he keeps drifting unconscious so i think the school Fare's off .

Coffee time .

Morning All,

We had a lovely day yesterday and oh made me get off the pooter. Did'nt go shopping but worked in the garden and tunnel.
Everything is so behind you lot as I could'nt sow or plant anything till we arrived home from our holiday. I do have radish well on the way and the courgettes are growing quite quickly. Toms have just about got their first trusses of tiny toms, well someof them. Spinach up and beetroot and lettuces that were eaten by the rabbits who got in the tunnel were cut and come again ones and they are now beautifull. I grow the red and green salad bowl type as I like the taste and colours.

It is dull today and I really must go shopping!!

OH got all the grass cut yesterday so thats looking good.

I went up the shop to get some milk and bread and bought a parsley plant from a friend and went into her garden to see if she had any more. She gave me another plant and a pot with several small plants in it. While walking round I said I like an old cast iron trough standing under a big tree. Oh she said we were going to put that out the front free with any plant bought as we don't want it anymore. She gave it to me and the water pump standing next to it. When I got home OH said "more junk".
The trough is cracked and has been mended but I think it will look good with plants in. As to the pump head, we already have two of those so oh was not pleased about that.

Love to join you Shirl. .... cheers .......

I've heard that about Listerine, can't remember where or what it was for, but it certainly deters something ...... may have been wasps.

My grandad was a stoker in the RN David, before WW1, but was in the army during the war.

I managed to clear everything out of the shed with only one encounter with a big black spider, didn't do so well when I was trying to get the roof off, didn't help being up a ladder, quite a few big spiders up there, I bet the neighbours wondered who I was talking to, I kept saying, go away, go away. Only got half the roof off when the rain started so gave up for today.
Going to watch Panorama, let's see why all these immigrants want to live here .....as if we didn't know.

My other uncle Frank, name of George, was also in the RN during WW11.He survived it and became a brick layer.

He went to South Africa for a few years.
I know he came back as he attended my Father's funeral.

If he is living he must be 95 :-)

David, My eldest brother was a stoker on the MTBs in the war. He was torpedod three times and came through it. On one occasion he managed to grab the Ensign from the pole as they went down. It's so funny, he never spoke about the war, but my other brother who was in the Royal Engineers did nothing but talk about the near scraps he had. He helped build the runway on Gibraltar. He was in charge of a load of POWs

Shirl, 100 degrees!!! I'd have passed out. lol You were very brave to do that at such a YOUNG AGE......almost a baby!! lol

David, moving house is very stressful.......you will both get tired and fractious. There are so many decisions to make and things to choose. Just think, in a few months you will have your feet up looking at your christmas tree. :-D :-D

Fiona, I bet you will feel so proud tomorrow.......hope you all have a lovely day.

Poor James Jane, I bet he won't settle at all tomorrow till he gets his results!! I hope he gets what he is hoping for after all that hard work. I would love to see what those bunnies do when they come across your hair Jane. Is the last lot still where you put it?

I picked the first tomatoes today and a handful of loganberries......OH has eaten them all!!

Jane

Jane Report 16 Jun 2011 18:29

It's all go then David!I am sure you and Ellen will have a few spats until all it done and dusted and you can settle into your new home. How long will all the work take to do?

Fiona ,I bet you are all excited about tomorrow and Daughter No2s Graduation.I hope you have a fantastic day and get lots of good pics.
My James gets his Final results tomorrow so I will be on tender hooks until he rings early evening.I don't think he gets the results until the end of the day.
Fingers crossed he has done fine.I know he has worked very hard so he has done his best.

I have come back from the hairdressers with another bag of hair to put in the garden where the rabbits are getting in!I do get some strange looks from the other customers when I ask Nigel if I can have all the cut hair lol

I better go and get some dinner on the go now...BBL

Still can't make up it's mind (the weather). cloudy one minute then sunshine.

Did you understand my spelling of PATIO. this morning. I only noticed it when I came on to read the posts. WHAT AM I LIKE. No comments please !!!!

While sorting out the tomato plants this morning I came across a small stinging nettle. Not thinking, I just pulled it out between my thumb and finger, Did the Bugger sting. It's been throbbing all day. !!!! I won't be doing that again in a hurry.I mixed up 6 watering cans of growmore today and watered all the tomato plants, sweet peas, and morning glory.

I might go up the club tonight. They have a game of cricket going on, between 7pm and 10pm. I might have a little drinkie poos while I am there. !!!!

Trust everything went well for KIM today, and the strain won't be too much for her

Mel, the wind here has been quite strong, and blown down all Ros's poppies. I had tied some up but the rest took a battering.

Trust you didn't get eaten by the spiders today Maureen You will be dreaming about them tonight.. :-D :-D :-

I must go into town with Ros next time she goes. I can have a mooch round the Charity shops, while she is shopping. It will make a nice change instead of just going to Tesc#

The changed picture is the corvette HMS Bluebell.

My uncle Ralph was a stoker first class in the RN during WW11

He was on Bluebell stoking for all he was worth escorting Russian convoys.

Bluebell was torpedoed and sank.

Most of the crew, including uncle Ralph perished.
