Poor Shirl still can't get on here and is missing the 'chat' wondering who and what she is missing. She sends us all her best. Frank, how about a Skype to bring her up to date. :-D

Evening All,

Well it has poured with rain all day here.....really miserable. Harvey did well to get your drive done Frank. They raised a lot of money didn't they....and more to come.

Mel, that was a lovely idea to have a Robin on your mum's stone. I hope it will be a better day weatherwise for you tomorrow......will be thinking of you.

OH used to tell me he wanted his ashes scattered on the then Hinckley Athletic football ground..............now it is covered in houses!!!! lol

We went to see MIL and FIL today. They had been to a birthday bash at a home where an old friend now lives. FIL was telling us about it and shook his head and said there were a lot of very old folk there. OH choked on his tea as his dad is aged 90 and said, 'how old?? Was Methuselah there?' lol,lol His dad replied that they weren't active!!! lol Because he can still run upstairs and was laying concrete edging around the lawn last week, I'm sure he forgets how old he is. lol

Frank ,I dread to think what Fitz paid for our day out.I just know it was a hefty sum.It was a lovely thing that he did ,taking Ann and me.As he said with out our help he would never have found out all about the family and Luton Hoo.

I am going to take myself off upstairs to the spare room to watch Case Histories now so will say Night Night xx

Mel I will be thinking of you tomorrow. It will be alright <3 <3

I'am sure tomorrow will be fine Mel, how lovely to have the little robin on the stone.
Frank , that's a really good fund raising amount !! well done to Ros and all the helpers, hope that poor lady makes a speedy recovery .

Pat , i don't think we've ever been to Snettisham , i remember we went down to Heacham once , we go to Hunstanton quite a bit and Sheringham , it's lovely to get the sea air ,i love the sea when its rough like watching the huge waves splash up .

Oh South Creake ,the other side of Fakenham , not that far away from me ,i'am in Dereham !!

Raining quite hard now , no watering needed tonight .

Right, here we go again.

It's rained here since before I got up this morning, and now a fine driving rain. Poor Harvey came up this morning to take up part of the drive that has broken up, by the frost over the winter. He worked through all the rain. He replaced the conctete with gravel. It looks great till it starts to get kicked around walking through it.

The Scouts fun day raised a provisional figure of £3,600. They still have the money to come from the sealed bids for a stall of gifts. One item a cricket bat signed by KEVIN PETERSEEN feached £175.00. The head scout mistress colapsed before the day ended and was taken to hospital by Ambulance and is still in there tonight, having tests.

I Did a nice leg of pork for dinner after Harvey had finished and had a shower. I dished him up his usual LARGE plateful. He said " I will never eat that" he left a clean plate, and managed an apple crumble and custard also.

I was saying yesterday Jane, That must have been a wonderful wine at that price. !!! You don't have to tell, if you don't want. But what was the total BILL.????

My computer sits at the bottom of the lounge/dinner by the conservatory door. I can sit here away from the tele. and look out into the garden.

I don't want to get morbid, but Ros and I have a plot at Earls Barton cemetary next to her Mum and Dad. All bought and paid for when her Mum died in 1979. So we know where we will end up.!!!!

David, for many years I wanted to be burried at sea. Only because I love the sea, and have the greatest respect for it. Back in 1960 I was in a boat lost at sea for 19 hours with gale force 10 winds, and 30 foot waves. We had 4 lifeboats out looking for us. One found us and towed us to the river Crouch, in Essex. I couldn't lie flat on the bed for two days, without holding on to the side of the bed. My Mother didn't know anything about it till she read the morning paper the day after.

I hope that this lot gets through.

Will speak again tomorrow.

Love to you all.

Mel
Jane is right , burying the ashes is not as hard as the funeral, we buried dad's ashes along with mum in her grave, thats what he wanted.
Weather been cloudy and has just started to rain now and the wind has picked up,

Mel ,tomorrow will be fine.I don't think it will be as traumatic as you think.I dreaded Mums ashes being buried but I found it far less upsetting than the funeral. What time will it be?

Afternoon everyone

Been to another car boot this morning ,all i bought was a book !!
then decided to go to the coast as it was nice and sunny , got there just after one and it started to spit with rain ,we had a fish and chip ,sat in the car for a while ,never got a walk as it rained a bit harder ,came home and hubby's now watching the Grand Prix.

Anne, have the family got the cottage for the week ?yesterday was a nice sunny day ,today wet and quite chilly , i think tomorrow and Tuesday should be fine ,then showers again on Wednesday ,i'am sure they'll manage to get on the beach on one of those days, but they might have to go along the coast to do that i don't think there's much of a beach there, more Marshes and mud banks !!
They could go along to Holkham ,thats a good beach when the tides out ,or Wells , a nice walk from the Quay right down to the beach ,or go through the pine trees and walk from Wells through to Holkham .
i hope they have a good time .

I remember going to Blakeney Point on a school trip years ago ,we had to board the boat by walking along a long plank ,i remember looking down thinking i hope i don't end up in the mud !!!lol it was very choppy sea and one of the girls was sick !!

Time for a cuppa
