Well it's back on the old cross trainer now after the most fattening things I could choose from the menu, and quite a few glasses of wine.

I remember you saying she was a clippie Jane, I just thought maybe one or other of your brothers and sisters might have had more info, I know how much your parents meant to you but if it were me I would always wonder.

Do you live in one of those lovely villages in Bedfordshire Pat, we've often driven through them going to nurseries. I'm going to put that photo back, it's not just the hair I think it's the eyes as well, a bit uncanny.

Maureen ,It sounds like you had a great time last night.
As to my Birth Mother ....She died in 1994( I think). She had 8 of us by 6 different fathers.!!!What was she like???? I was number 6 in 1954.Jean who was 9 then died from TB and Meningitis.I then think just before I was born all the others went into Childrens Homes and I was given up for adoption.(Thank goodness).I do have a couple of photos of her ,and the likeness is quite scary lol.She was a Clippy on the buses in Greenock. Two of my B Sisters Dad was the Milkman(Sammy ) lol.The rest of the fathers....who knows!
In a way I am glad I never met her.I am just happy that I was adopted.I couldn't have had a better life.I feel sad for my siblings who didn't have such a happy childhood as me.

Phantom of the Opera was fantastic. All unkown cast with wonderful voices better than some so called stars. The sets and lighting were amazing, I think it was Her Majestys Theatre, Haymarket.

That was some price for a bottle of wine Jane, I bought some drinks in the theatre, two glasses of lager and one white wine £17 and I thought that was really expensive. We went to the matinee so when we came out we went for a meal at one of Frankie Whatshisname the jockey and Marco Pierre Whites restaurants, very nice, not as posh as yours Ann and Jane but the tirramasu was mouthwatering.

That is so sad Pat, losing your granson I can only imagine how
heartbreaking it must have been.

I don't have a lap top so sit in the living room on the home computer, son made a desk/table for it and all the paraphanalia (sp) that goes with it, keyboard, printer etc. it's by the front window so I can have a nose at people going by as well .....lol

Since my mum died I have lost interest in the family tree, I'm sure I will go back to it at some point, she took such an interest in it that it doesn't seem the same now.

Have you tried to trace your birth mother Jane, wouldn't one or other of your siblings have any information.

Well it has started to rain here now but I did manage to get the washing dry this morning. I don.t usually wash on Sunday but need to catch up before Thursday,.
Had a lovely day yesterday with hubbies family and we discussed plans for MIL's 80th next year. She is hoping to get all the family together for lunch so we need to be telling people soon to keep the weekend free and also decide where to go.It rained very heavily here all yesterday afternoon and the vegetables seemed to grow several inches overnight.
Thank you all for telling me where you are sitting with your computers I can imagine you all tapping away.
Frank Please do not give up, the site seems to be having great difficulty coping with the volume of people using it and we all seem to be having difficulties.
Mandy How is the weather with you?? The family have taken a cottage at Blakeney this weekend and I hope it stays dry so they can go onto the beach.
Mel Thanks for all your help
Have just put chicken into the oven and it is beginning to smell delicious. Hubby picked a huge bowl of strawberries this morning so we shall have those for tea as well.I have been preparing the filling for a summer pudding which I shall freeze and then finish when our neighbours come to eat on Tuesday.Back later :-)

Jane I wrote a letter to Prince William in 2009 when he visited Australia after the Victorian fires. I got the most heart-warming response with a personal touch. I can't tell you what a challenge it was with the handwriting after the keyboard. I only write cards or shopping lists and it can affect the skill that was ground into us at school. I got the cane if I didn't form my letters properly!!!!!!

I did send lots of postcards when we went to NZ for my treatment in 2003, but that would be the last time.

Will miss you Frank - keep trying. I agree with Jane, but it is more miss than hit right now!!!!

Cheers, Kim 11.42 pm and I am watching The Kennedys.

Jane Report 12 Jun 2011 14:12

Frank, don't give up!!.It all seems a bit hit and miss at the moment lol
I miss pen and paper.No-one writes these days. It's either emails, text mess, phone.I used to love writing letters, and I can't remember the last time I did that other than a little note in a Xmas card .I always had notelets for Christmas, and used them to say thank you for presents.
I still like sending Postcards when I'm away on holiday.Do many people still do that?

Afternoon All
I can't believe I am so late .Had a lie in with my book while Chris took Chester out.Glad it was his turn as it is wet,so I stayed dry lol.I do wish though that Chris would learn to dry Chester off properly. He always forgets to do under his tummy and that is where all the muddy water splashes !

Pat Ann(x) is in Leicesteshire just outside of Leicester, and Shirl is in Birmingham. Her daughter Jessica and grandaughter April live in Wales and Sheila often goes there to see them.

It is really is dark and dismal .I think it will be ironing for me in a minute.I have just put the Pork Joint in and that will be done by 3 then I think we will most likely eat around 5 ish.

Hannah will be on her way back from Manchester now.She did ring a 3rd time last night just after I had gone to bed.I thought the concert would have finished, but I think it was the final song I was hearing down the phone. If I'm honest it was very difficult to make out any of the singing.

James rang from Canterbury just now to say it isn't next weekend he will be home ,but the 22nd.I think that is the day Hannah goes off to Glastonbury.
James was telling me that Chaz(one of his house mates ) had had some kind of Breakdown and has had to pull out of Uni.It is very sad as it is his final year.He has apparently not been there since Easter.Hopefully when he is better he can do redo his 3rd year again. He is doing Architecture.
Must get the ironing board out I think.
I'll be back!...Who said that?

Evening Kim

Morning Mel
Lovely day here, great just typed that and the sun went in typical!!!!
hopefully will come back out.

Getting ready for church at the moment. Daughter no 1 phoned from Italy at 7.00am says they had just got up for breakfast it's 8.00am there, Sofia still asleep, I said good at least you hopefully will get your breakfast in peace.

they arrived in Italy about 11.30 last night, and SIL father picked them up at the Airport then they had about 2 hours journey home , Sofia fell asleep in the car. so everyone just went straight to bed.
Trip went well Sofia never sat still lol :-) kept going from her mums knee to her dad's knee , My SIL had to sit in the Isle seat of the row in front, so Sofia kept peeping round the chair to see if he was still there and wanting kisses and then back to mum for kisses lol
I expect she will be a bit strange with everyone at first but will soon come round, she has an older cousin there who is 3 and a new cousin who is just 1 month old so that will be fun, though her dad is determined and mum(sometimes) to speak italian to her in her own home , everyone will be speaking it there so she will certainly get used to it .

well I need to go now and collect bag shoes, etc,
BBL this afternoon.

Morning All,

OH was right it is raining today and it is also cold.

I will be trying to help someone today so might not be around much.

Sowed more seed in the tunnel yesterday and tied up the tom plants and watered everything well so I should'nt have to do it today.

OH going to Okehampton to ring for service today. He cut all the lawns yesterday and then walked them all again with the feed spreader and then sprayed them all with the backpack sprayer with weed killer. The rain should have washed everything in well, I hope. He must have walked miles!!! He also cut the front field with the ride on. So he was really tired last night and hungry.

Well I did try to change my photo and also added my names and areas of interest, but everything shut down with a message about site maintenance.

Mel I had to get back in via a old Genes email as it would not let me log in with my password - more talk of site maintenance. Everything I have been sent by Genes regarding trees and hot matches, etc. are oops broken pages.

I had a look at my tree last night and there was a blank page. I sat and panicked for 5 minutes and then slowly, bit by bit the names began to appear.

Any sign of Frank yet?

5.33 pm Good luck today everyone. I can't believe what's going on here :-(

Hello everyone,

What a dreadful day here with torrential rain and strong winds. The pool yard flooded again and the water was flowing towards our front windows. OH got out there armed with a hose, brooms and a mop. That did the trick; he used to mop to create enough suction and whoosh out came a huge mass of roots and rubbish about a metre long. It was sitting out in the gutter. No more floods, hooray.

Pat my name is Kim, sorry I did have all my information set out for you and Maddie the other night, but when I hit submit the whole thing was lost. Just to recap, I am 54 married to Keith with children Joel nearly 21 and Miranda 16. We live on the NSW Central Coast at Bateau Bay and have been living here for 14 years since our move in 1997 from Warburton in Victoria. I have been a member of GR since 2005, but I didn't start working on my tree until late 2006.

Ann the photos are beautiful. I love all those poppies. When I showed my son, he said mum we don't have anything like that around here.

It's probably time I changed by profile photo - I might go for one from my younger days this time.

BBL Feel like a coffee right now and some cake. 4.03 pm EST

David ,I'm sure you will have lots of memories of your Dad tomorrow. It was the anniversary of my Dad yesterday .

I spoke to one of my Birth Brothers earlier tonight. He says he has the photo of me that I sent him by his fire place.(I'm his Sister) that he knew nothing about until I found him .He also told me he has a photo of another sister when she was about 3 or 4.She has been contacted but doesn't want to know.My B .Brother said he will send me the photo of her. That will be great for me.I will then have pics of all of my Birth Brothers and Sisters except for one and she died in 1953 from TB.There are no photos of her at all.
I do wonder about my Birth Mother .....why on earth did she had 8 children ??
:-S
