Just looked up and the concert doesn't start until 8.45!!!.She thought it was a late afternoon start. So I don't need to sit next to the phone just yet lol I'm glad you made sense of that PM Pat.It is quite a tale and difficult to package up into a short message. I forgot to say I sit at the dining table on my Laptop, looking out over the garden. I used to perch on the edge of the settee with the laptop on the coffee table but got Sciatica!!!!!!! or as I heard it called Weavers Bottom lol I feel a bit chilly now.It is quite cool outside ,but I don't think wearing shorts helps.I better go and put something sensible on.

Evening All,
Jane, I nearly choked as well!!!! A good job you didn't spill any at that price!!! I'm sure you meant to say Fitz's main course was Guinea 'Fowl' didn't you and not 'Owl' !!! lol, lol I think his starter was a Pike and ham hock terrine. Yes, my pea veloute starter had basil froth on and there was more of it than I expected! I was wondering how I would manage the next 2 courses. OH made me smile today, he said just think, there will be people who are as well known at Luton Hoo as we are at Sain*bury's cafe!! lol Says it all doesn't it. He was very interested to hear about Zena the historian........I think he more than fancies her job......especially at Luton Hoo!!! I am still thrilled about the day we had there. I hope Hannah is enjoying Take That.
I had an e-mail from Shirl........GR are suggesting she gets Internet Explorer 8 now. I think I am still on version 7 and can still get on, so why does she need to be on version 8? Perhaps Mel could let her know what she suggested to others on here to get in.
This afternoon we went on a canal walk near Lutterworth, but the towpath was awful, with sloping narrow ledges, metalwork sticking up and rods you could trip over that supported the metal edge. We gave up after a short while, but on the way back I spotted a field with poppies in which is a rarity in this neck of the woods and took a few pics.

Sarah and James I have also contacted the desendents of Sarahs brother who also went to the Usa with the mormons... I am great freinds of them both on MSN and facebo#k Because they are in the Usa I have been given alot of info because a lot of americans have been over here researching their ancestors.I now have photographs of all my granddads cousins children of Ann... And a photograph my granddad sent of his family dated about 1910 to his auntie Ann had still been kept by a family member.. So that was nice... mind you they knew the family were from the uk but nothing else..
JANE are you waiting for the call from HEA#T radio...I hope you get a ticket..My daughter has seen them live twice... The Circus she saw I like them as well

Hi
MEgirl...just lost the whole lot I had just typed. My parents would of been pleased with me researching my tree especially my mum. When she was little she was sent things from Utah from her dads (my granddads aunt and uncle..One was a post card another a christmas card and another a letter..the letter she received sometime later. As a child I knew she had these but didnt take any notice...When she died I kept hold of these.
It wasent until about 6 years ago when I started my tree that I remembered these things...I have since been able to trace everyone down from these letters..Oh my! my tree soon grew.

Afternoon All Rained here all day, did the weekly food shopping this morning , Our Mor**sons have gone and changed all the shelves and all the things are in different places. took a little longer to find what I was looking for.
We then came home and put the shopping away, then went to a local Shopping Outlet where they sell fish for OH new tank, but he did not find anything he liked. had a baked potato while we were there for lunch, then decided to go to the fish centre at one of the garden centre's , no fish there either, popped in Dun*lm on the way to another garden centre, bought a new bath mat, dinner plates, and a new wooden bread board, nothing exciting really, Got to the garden centre , had a coffee while OH looked at their fish but still nothing to tempt him. so decided we had had enough of fish hunting for one day,
OH now watching the TV some filim about a Roman Centurion, to much fighting and bloodshed for me.
Anne now the family are up and gone to other houses, I turned my front bedroom into a study, where I am now at my computer desk, I have book shelves with my family history files on and a book case with reading and researching books and also family photo's on, also an old set of drawers where I keep papers, and photo albums in. OH uses his laptop on a small coffee table in the living room or when he's working from home he uses the dinning room table. we have a seperate dinning room from the living room so it's ideal as long as I only pop my head round the door and use sign language for a cup of tea,no one is allowed to talk to him when he's in a phone meeting. :-( time to put the kettle on , Daughter no 1 & family will have left home and be making their way to Edinburgh Airport now, flight to Italy is a 7.30pm

I'm getting fed up with all the shenannigans (sp) on GR .It's not good enough lol.We never get an apology from them do we when things aren't running smoothly.Little Gripe over!
Pat I am so sorry about your Grandson.I can't begin to imagine what it must be like for you and your Son and DIL.It always make me so mad when a young life ends and there are so many bad people who don't deserve to be around and live for donkeys years.
There are some big black clouds hovering around here.I have one eye on the washing and other here. Not easy to have both eyes looking in different directions lol.Chris has been looking at our bikes, pumped up the tyres etc.I haven't been on mine for years as it is so heavy. It is Miss Marple type with basket on the front ! I just had a couple of turns around the garden on it.Or I should say wobbled around the garden lol
Mel I am trying to think what we had to eat on Thursday I think Fitz had some kind of terrine to start, followed by Guinea Fowl and then Creme Brulee Ann had Pea Soup with I think Basil Froth !!!!!!!(I hope Ann will put me right if I'm wrong) then Sea Bass on a bed of Spring Cabbage,Celeriac and something, with little cubes and ball shaped potatoes with saffron and something.I think the potatoes were called Pomme Parisienne Then Creme Brulee I had the Sea Bass too,but no starter. For pud I had an English trio of pud. A tiny treacle tart,a clotted cream rice pudding in a roll shape, and another one I can't for the life of think what it was. It was all delicious.
I am waiting for my call from Take That !

So bloody annoying Frank!!!! We must both be idiots then!!! I did have a win at Scrabble, thrashed the boys.
Pat I don't know how you get over that sort of loss and support those around you at the same time. It is a very sad time for you. The memories and photos keep me going. My father would be very happy with the family tree as I have found relatives and mentors - people he talked about a lot throughout his life. My mother, on the other hand would be giving me a good spanking for digging up her side!!! I have photos of 3 g.uncles in Darlinghurst Gaol - the resemblance is really remarkable. She would not be pleased.
It has been raining on and off all day here. The sun has been watery and miserable and it is the Queen's Birthday long weekend.
Maureen enjoy "Phantom" tonight. I always loved Michael Crawford in that role. He has a beautiful voice, such a versatile man.
Anne we have turned mum's old bedroom into an office and I sit at the computer desk with the home computer and Keith sits at the other desk with his laptop. It is our together time, as long as I don't speak to him whilst he's working. Sometimes the cats will join us if they are in the mood.
Jane I will have to re-read your email to work out Fitz's family history. It sounded so complicated, but very interesting.
I'm off to see what's on tv. It is 11.00 pm and Rod's beloved Geelong Cats (Aussie Rules) had a big win tonight. He'd be well pleased with that result.
God bless everyone, stay safe and well. Kim
Sheila I hope Jasper is better - very glad Teddie is back in the house :-)

Pat I have platinum membership so can look up the 1911 census if you need anything. So sorry to hear of your grandson I know that words are inadequate but my thoughts are with you. Yesterday would have been the birthday of a very special young lady who died last year after a long and debilitating illness. She was the daughter of very close friends and we all miss her greatly. Must stop now as getting emotional.God bless
