Morning everyone.
It is overcast and chilly here today but hopefully will stay dry long enough to dry the towels which are just finishing in the washing machine.I was just wondering where everyone sits to sent their messages? I am sitting at the kitchen table as I find this the most comfortable place to be for my back but I can imagine everyone in different parts of the house do please tell.
Maureen I hope you enjoy Phantom tonight. It's a wonderful show with fabulous music and costumes. It is a long time since I saw it but I did enjoy it all and often play the music.
Sheila I hope the dogs are together today. They do pine when seperated or at least my parents dogs used to.D**L rang hubby to say that they will replace his new mini laptop as well they should after 24hours.
Mel I have resent the information.

I really must work out how to add a photo to my posts. OMG washing machine has just jumped into the air with loud bang and frightened me to death. Going to change now as off to family lunch at SIL to celebrate MIL birthday. :-) :-)

Pat you have to pay to look up the 1911 census and I have run out of credits. Just ask on the Find Ancestors boards and someone will look at it for you or you could just buy a few credits and look yourself and see the actual forms.

http://www.1911census.co.uk/

You can look up for free is you know their birth years and where they are but that dos'nt help with new children to a family. The actual form tells you much more like how many children they had and how long they have been married.

We have had a couple of short sharp showers this morning now. OH is trying to mow grass.

I am sure Hannah will enjoy her day today seeing Take That live. It could be a costly phone bill for Hannah, Jane!!

Still waiting to hear whether our Reader can do the burial of mums ashes on Monday. Everyone else can make it, but I need to hear from Sheila our Reader as she works as a nurse thingy too, doing things for the elderly so it will have to be worked in between getting their teas. I chose Monday as it would have been mums 87th birthday.

Thanks Mel

My platinum membership has ceased...says i am a free member now..

My tree is on Ancestry but I didnt renew on there as I wanted to see the 1911 census records on Genes..So that was why I was on here.

I have come to a stand still on my tree now..I just needed the 1911 ones to add anymore children after that date. I understand Ancestry is now getting there with theirs....So I will take up your offer when I may thanks..

Jane we all think of our parents on certain days...So I know how you feel..Also we cant let them know what we have found out on ours trees which is sad..

I lost my 7 year grandson at christmas...with swine flu...That has knocked me back..I cannot help my son or his wife get though this so have a double hurt...

I will see if this sends ok

It didnt until I renewed to the standard one...Lucky I copied and pasted my messase so I didnt have to retype lol

Morning All,

Sunny at the moment but OH tells me anything I am going to do outside, do it today as it is going to pour down tomorrow.

Pat it must have been you who were talking about not having a Platinum membership this time. I only ever have the standard membership but have an Ancestry sub too so can look up things on there. If you want anything looked up we all help each other on here. Always willing to help with lookups.

Sheila, I bet little Teddie was pleased to get back to his friend Jasper and the fireside! after eing in the shed all day. Must have been like going to prison for him. Poor little soul, that should teach him to be a good boy!!

We shall all have to bow (sp) to Ann and Jane now after their day at that posh Luton Hoo!! So what did you have for the main course, or arn't you going to tell us???? :-0

Good luck to Ros today with her sale of work for charity, and hope she takes a lot of money. Was it for the scouts Frank?? :-)

I have just found that when I put a face at the end of a post and try to press ented for two spaces down it just gives me more smily faces!! :-S

Anne I deleted your email by mistake as I did'nt recognise the name and it came up in my spam box!!!! Sorry so can you send it again lease? :-S

Hello everyone and bless you Mel for getting me back on here. I usually just used a GR email and then tried to find the right page, but that doesn't seem to work any more.

I have just renewed my membership at the basic rate. I haven't tried to access my tree for the past two weeks, maybe I should as I need to add some new-found information.

Jane your friend is Fitz, sorry I was calling him Fritz.

Sheila I love your description of the tablecloth. You must have had a special bond with John's mother. Such grand names for the manx cats!!!!! I really love that breed too. You don't see too many in Australia, but they are very striking.

I had better have a look at this tree while I am logged in and see what damage I can do.

I will catch up on the other posts as I need to read through them. Thank you to everyone who sent me emails, gratefully appreciated.

Love to all, bye for now, Kim xx

Just had a bath and I am now feeling warm and relaxed, we didn't bother doing the weekly shopping tonight, so going to do it tomorrow instead.

Going to get a drink and make my way to bed, just finished my book, so will need to get another one, I would be lost without having something to read.
So I will say goodnight

Hi to everyone today I am having trouble with my e mail today hope to get on later.
Pat think you for explaining how to get a picture I shall have a go .I love all the change of pictures. .

Kim it is sad when you loose a long term friend I had a male friend die years ago I used to see him a lot when my husband was in Cyprus I was not married then but it was assumed I would marry my husband.

John was my mate and we were not romantic just really good friends his mum had this lovely flat in Chelsea in London and going down there was so thrilling after Birmingham. I rememeber she had two Manx cats Perdy and Perditta they were beige and had beautiful eyes such regal looking animals it was funny because when they sat each side of the fireplace they looked like book ends.
His mum used to have a unusual eye glass to look through and wore huge combs in her hair and called me duckie all the while which rather took the posh edge off things. John never married and he got a job at Buckingham Palace mending bed linen well you would have thought her majesty would be able to afford new but she had them repaired. I lost touch of him for several years and he became very ill with cancer in 1988 and died. I received a lace tablecloth from him that his mum left me because I said it was pretty it had doves in gold thread embroidered all round the edge and little pearls dangling from them but some of the pearls had fallen off but I sewed some more on it. I gave it Jess when she married because her house was made up of old fashioned things. Her new place is the same. Sadly she sold a lot when Mat died she had no room for big chests and such. She loves pink and her setee is old pink.

April is funny I think Kim she is a bit jealous .

Teddie is back in now and Jasper seems a little bit better but I am dreading Monday. I have been reading everyones threads from way back.

Jane it sounds like you and Annx had a great time with Friz what a lovely house to visit .Fiona i am hoping to look at Sophias pictures have kept the others you sent.

Jaspers a cain and teddy is a cross cairn I had him off a lady who wanted rid of him then she wanted him back but I told her no
he was settled. They love each other those dogs now. I kept teddie outside in the shed for the day he did play up but he was well fed and walked .When he came in he gave a huge sigh and curled up by the fire
stepping over Jasper.

Catch you all tomorrow love to everyone. nite nite from SHEILA.

I hope you don't get booted .I don't know how these things work.Should you not just be put back to 'normal registation'?

Ann ,I didn't realise how expensive those bottles of wine were!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I nearly chokked (sp) when Fitz told me .£37!(each)!!!!!!.Cripes!
Off to dish up now.

Oh yes I'm with you there Fiona, Mr Darcy waiting at the bottom to catch you in his arms.......! :-D :-D

Yes, Mel and Jane are right....we are three shorties!! lol

It was very, very posh like Jane says, but not at all snooty.....we were made to feel quite at home!! The snow white napkins were placed on your laps by the waitress and as soon as Fitz and Jane had a few quoffs of their wine, the waitress was there and kept topping up their glasses for them........yes, they didn't have to lift a finger Frank!! lol

Maureen, I loved Phantom of the Opera when I saw it a few years ago. I bet you will love it too. MIL had to prod FIL.....he was singing the songs and heads were turning!! :-S
