Hi All..

It is nice you are telling Maddie a bit about yourselves..Now I am making a list of you all and your bearings...

Maddie I have only been on here for a week.I am from Bedfordshire.

Today I have had 3 dehumidifiers and an a industrial blower . taken out of my kitchen and bathroom...I was away at xmas so was my neighbour. We came back before him and to cut a long story short he had a burst pipe in his loft.this resulted in us getting water damage as well The kitchen was gutted in Feb ..Walls floor celing.and we have been all these months trying to get it dry..Three times the equipment was put in.signed off dry on 2 occasions to find that when the buildierscame into start the walls they were still wet..Hopefully this time they will not find fault. So nearly six months with out any kitchen units is too much..
Just watching corree at the moment

Hi All What a lot has happened on here since yesterday,.I hopeAnn,Jane and Fritz have had a good day and I look forward to all their news.
Welcome Maddie. I.m Anne, live in North Yorkshire, am 62 and have a super hubby, one son and two gorgeous grandchildren who live in hertfordshire. My hobbies include family history, cooking and photography. I am an active volunteer in the town and am not as good at posting as most of the others!
Hope you enjoy being with us as everyone is very friendly and supportive.
My day today has involved much housework, cooking, visitingMIL and watching the tennis. The weather has been mucher warmer with no rain today and we even managed coffee in the garden. Hubbies new computer eventually stopped altogether yesterday and is being returned to the manufacturer.
Have just had a message from genes to say that they are upgrading the site but I will have to pay even more for full access which I think is very naughty after all the problems of the last few weeks.
Going book tickets for John Barrowman in York in November yipeee
Jane We are going to Jersey next Thursday for five days with some friends which should be fun.
Frank So pleased to hear that your heart is ok.Do take care of yourself. I am amazed by the amount ofcraft work Ros does for your community, she is a real gem. :-) :-) :-)

Hi Kim,

Sorry about your news, but if you had happy times with Rod, that is something to savour. Life can be such a Bast###. How old was Rod. We have all been there, and it's not nice so see our friends in pain and suffering.

I have had a lazy day. Sitting around reading. I made a lasagne for dinner tonight. Ros is making a salad to go with it as I sit here now.

Have run out of beer, so will have do do without tonight.

The washing machine man called this afternoon. He condemed the washer saying as it was 10 years old and the circuit boards cost either £100/200 depending on the problem. and there must have been something wrong for it to trip the electricity apart from the circuit boards. (MORE EXPENCE) We have just bought one on line from Tesc# with £100.00 off plus Ros will get her points. Harvey will have to take the old one away on Sunday when he collects Lewis.

Still here. Fiona and Sheila thanks for your comments. I can't sleep so I'm between here and the tv. We have some wonderful memories of times with Rod. He was a funny guy and a very kind man.

This site is playing up, cursor is all over the place. I don't get that GR maintenance message, but they had better sort things soon.

Sheila I love my two girls, they are so loving and a comfort to me. Both are very quiet tonight, sensing that all is not right. Little April's having an attack of the greenies is she? Shouldn't laugh, but that's really funny. She's quite the little madam with her baby brother. Poor Jess, she is in for a time. Things will get better in a few months. So nice that she likes the name Joel, it's a calm peaceful name and my Joel is very much that way. He will be 21 in September, but he's such a big kid and very placid.

Sorry about Jasper, poor little dog. Hope the pills help him to feel better. When can Teddy come back inside? What sort of dogs are they Sheila?

I'm starting to get a bit sleepy, so I might turn in now.

It is 1.54 am EST take care, Kim

if anyone wants to know where I come from it is BIRMINGHAM we have the bull ring a market of course the NEC and a huge ethnic minority lots of
people stopping you to sign you up for just about everything .

And Beryl and Donnie what would my life be like without that pair.
We do have a brill cricket ground at Edgbaston and tennis at the Priory wanted to go but not a £100 per ticket for a good player. Some good ladies famous players go there at times.

Lots of theatres and a canal and I went for a ride on a canal boat really looked forward to it but what happened the boatman had a heart attack that day. oh well thats life. I had to wait 1 hour for another chap to rescue us. We all sat there then it rained..
Our wine shop is on top of a hill built in 1930 the only one in the lane
the only shop in the lane . across the road from the park. which is surrounded by a covent and two churches all very old. Most of the property is owned by Munz trust so cannot be knocked down and is falling down

One child is in Malvern another in St ASepth wales both small communities gossip is ripe in both places.Everyone knows everyones business. Just a bit of worthless information I guess.

OH Kim what sad news poor Rod was he a close friend.
Pat you are right about the showers school days sometimes were a pain.
Mel take care of those bites they can be very nasty I have bad scarring on my legs from bites I got in Belgium now I am getting old my skin is thinning in that area and sometimes my leg gets infected.

My little dog is not well after his teeth cleaning session the vet gave him a drug and its made him sick and today I took him to the vets for a teeth check and came back with a bill for sixteen pound for sickness pills and shes ordered Jasper to hav e blood tests on Monday more money to make sure his kidneys are ok. I am sorry I went but he needed them doing his gums were black. Teddie knows Jasper is not well and keeps
coming over to him and sitting on him. Jasper yelps and gets up so Teddy had to go outside poor chap.

My venture yesterday Mel and Jane was funny I did laugh Sophia being polish and russian is so excited over everything and she is funny the way she does things .I popped up to the butcher and said no more notes please or meat on the step he just laughed. I did not want to be ungrateful the lunch was very nice but all that laughing gave me hic cups.
how do you get a picture in those square thingies you all have.

Kim I looked up your cats and they are beautiful. Jessie is determined to have something called Joel so shes christened a horse at her stables where she likes to ride guess what Joel.Aprils a bit nasty about Mat at times Jess says this morning at breakfast she said that brat kept me awake last night does he never shut up and she was told not to be so rude about her brother her comment I did not ask for him.
Fiona Sofia must be growing now anymore pictures.
Well I will go and finish off the ironing I hate it.

I sent my book I was writing to a lady expert on book writing and asked for her opinion well she pointed out so many mistakes I need to sit and alter all of it. I should have called it the the witches stew. lol

Hi Kim
So sorry to hear about your friend's passing, I know what that feeling is like when you know you are saying goodbye, had it with both my mum & dad, but it doesn't make the parting any easier. Hope your memories will give you some comfort and help with the numb feeling.

It's getting harder for me to get on here , all the links but one, keep still saying GR are doing maintenance , is everyone else still ok for getting on. :-S

Hello all,

Welcome Maddie, I'm Kim and I live on the NSW Central Coast in Australia.

Frank so glad you had some results from your tests.

Mel the card arrived today with one from Maureen. Thank you so very much, it's really lovely.

On a sad note, my friend Rod died tonight at Gosford Hospital. The ambulance came at lunch time when he had trouble breathing. I knew then I wouldn't be seeing him again. Such a wonderful man, wicked humour - just like Frank and friend to all. We will miss him so much.

Hope Jane and Ann have a good day.

No sleep tonight, it's now 12.51 am EST. There must be a good movie on tv for me. Cheers, Kim

Yes that's me Pat, in the photo, surprised you can see it, it's come out so small, might see if I can find a bigger size one to put on here.

After the last time Frank I'm not surprised you saw the doc really quickly, at least it's put your mind at rest, you still need to take it easy though, all these new ladies on here can't be doing your blood pressure any good :-D :-D :-D

Can't wait for Jane and Ann to get back to hear all about their day.

They say red wine is good for keeping the mosquitoes away, you could try it Mel, might have the same effect on midges, and anyway it's a good excuse to open a bottle ....

Hi Frank, it's the LITTLE DEVIL ;-) ;-)

I am not a gardener, so I am not like many of you folk on here who spend time weeding or mowing the lawns or planting , That's OH interest and cycling of course and his fish when he's home and not away in some other country on one of his work trips
. My interests are, Family History, Tapestry work, love reading books, and taking part occasionally in church functions. like doing coffee duty in the church coffee shop, also am a member of a family history society and attend meetings the second Thursday of every month.

I'm usually only in the garden to sit in the sun ( when we are lucky to get any in Scotland)and occasionally plant pots and tubs. and enjoy the garden when we have family get together' s,

When there's no family visiting and that's not very often, I am either doing housework or chatting on here. or I walk down to town to shop , pay the bills or meet up for coffee and a good natter with friends from church or my old Nursery. (or perhaps go in into Glasgow for a change)
As you know Frank , I babysit Sofia twice a week for a few hours while her mum goes to work, and take her to her music class on a Wednesday.and often go shopping with them so daughter gets peace to shop and I'm in charge of Sofia.

I will be lost for the next 2 weeks while their on holiday, I will miss them.
but daughter no 2 will be popping in now and again. and we have her graduation next Friday so we are getting ready for that.

Morning all,

Yes Mel, I feel much better today. It does help that it is nothing serious. When I spoke with the doctor he mentioned that it could be a virus. Bloo## midges. Last year I got bitten all round me ankles. as much as I tried not to scratch, I did, and still have the scars to prove it. We have got some stuff now called "AFTER BITE" it certainly takes the irritation away, perhaps you should try to get some. It comes in a pencil type tube, with a little pad under the screw top, that you dab on the bites. I think we got it in Tesc#'s

I was surprised that Jane and Fitz were taking the train. They could have driven there quite easy.

We never had showers at our school. Just sinks, with cold water. After cross country running on a cold winters day in Knighton Woods (Remember that place MEL) running in and out of streams, the last thing you needed was to strip off and wash down in cold water. Most of us just dried off the best we could and got dressed. Had a bath when we got home.

Fiona you are a little devil, always out and about with friends. How do you find the time???

I have potted on a load of Cabbage plants and leeks, that can go on the stall on Saturday for the scouts. Ros. has been busy making glass cases, and putting the finishing touches to the shoulder bags, putting on little decotative beads.

Mel .leaves those bites alone !!!!!!.It is so difficult not to scratch them isn't it.Once you start you can't stop.

Back this evening.Have a good day now.I know we will :-D :-D :-D :-D

Morning All,

Been up since 7.15 and not done a thing. Have caught up with your posts and thats all.

Do have a good day out today Jane, Ann and Fitz. I suppose it will be quite quiet on here today without our Jane!! Not that she talks a lot you understand!!

Frank sorry to hear about your pain but glad it was not the old ticker... Hope you feel better today. I wonder if that was anything to do with you having the shakes if it was caused by a virus??

Shelia sounds like you had a good laugh yesterday! I bet your ribs will ache today with all that laughing. Your free lunch sounded lovely.

Maddie was the pub in South Hanningfield The Windmill??

Morning All
Had a really busy day yesterday, Coffee with the usual bunch plus daughter no 2, who popped in for our first round, all the ladies know my daughters , they either went to school or Sunday school with their kids .

Then had to dash home as OH fish tank cupboard was being delivered between 12.20 -1.30. luckily it arrive at 12.40 and the work men who were tarmacking the road were having their lunch or delivery van would not have got through. OH put it up last night, looks good will sort out fish at the week end takes a bit of time to empty old tank and then sort out new tank.

After lunch went to Musical minis , Sofia was a sleep and just woke up as we arrived at the church hall , not in a good mood either so poor mum had to stay with us during the class as Sofia was very clingy. that's the last class now for Sofia till the new term restarts in August, as daughter no 1 and family fly out to Italy on Saturday to spend 2 weeks with SIL parents, I will have a very long break from my singing and dancing , what am I going to do to fill in the days lol :-\
