Shirl..........I'd get your running shoes on if I were you>>>>>>>>>>>>>>lol. He'll get you at playtime!!
I better go to bed now.......OH keeps asking what time I need to be up for the hairdressers???? It happens whenever I have to go somewhere in a morning now. I think he thinks I've become 'incapable' of getting myself up and ready in time since he retired!!! I bet he will be up and getting under my feet and making me late!! :-( :-( Then he will think he's right! lol What can you do, eh!!
Night, night all >>>>>>>>sleep tight xxx.

Love to join you Shirl. .... cheers .......
I've heard that about Listerine, can't remember where or what it was for, but it certainly deters something ...... may have been wasps.
My grandad was a stoker in the RN David, before WW1, but was in the army during the war.
I managed to clear everything out of the shed with only one encounter with a big black spider, didn't do so well when I was trying to get the roof off, didn't help being up a ladder, quite a few big spiders up there, I bet the neighbours wondered who I was talking to, I kept saying, go away, go away. Only got half the roof off when the rain started so gave up for today. Going to watch Panorama, let's see why all these immigrants want to live here .....as if we didn't know.

My other uncle Frank, name of George, was also in the RN during WW11.He survived it and became a brick layer.
He went to South Africa for a few years. I know he came back as he attended my Father's funeral.
If he is living he must be 95 :-)

David, My eldest brother was a stoker on the MTBs in the war. He was torpedod three times and came through it. On one occasion he managed to grab the Ensign from the pole as they went down. It's so funny, he never spoke about the war, but my other brother who was in the Royal Engineers did nothing but talk about the near scraps he had. He helped build the runway on Gibraltar. He was in charge of a load of POWs

Shirl, 100 degrees!!! I'd have passed out. lol You were very brave to do that at such a YOUNG AGE......almost a baby!! lol
David, moving house is very stressful.......you will both get tired and fractious. There are so many decisions to make and things to choose. Just think, in a few months you will have your feet up looking at your christmas tree. :-D :-D
Fiona, I bet you will feel so proud tomorrow.......hope you all have a lovely day.
Poor James Jane, I bet he won't settle at all tomorrow till he gets his results!! I hope he gets what he is hoping for after all that hard work. I would love to see what those bunnies do when they come across your hair Jane. Is the last lot still where you put it?
I picked the first tomatoes today and a handful of loganberries......OH has eaten them all!!

Still can't make up it's mind (the weather). cloudy one minute then sunshine.
Did you understand my spelling of PATIO. this morning. I only noticed it when I came on to read the posts. WHAT AM I LIKE. No comments please !!!!
While sorting out the tomato plants this morning I came across a small stinging nettle. Not thinking, I just pulled it out between my thumb and finger, Did the Bugger sting. It's been throbbing all day. !!!! I won't be doing that again in a hurry.I mixed up 6 watering cans of growmore today and watered all the tomato plants, sweet peas, and morning glory. I might go up the club tonight. They have a game of cricket going on, between 7pm and 10pm. I might have a little drinkie poos while I am there. !!!!
Trust everything went well for KIM today, and the strain won't be too much for her
Mel, the wind here has been quite strong, and blown down all Ros's poppies. I had tied some up but the rest took a battering.
Trust you didn't get eaten by the spiders today Maureen You will be dreaming about them tonight.. :-D :-D :-
I must go into town with Ros next time she goes. I can have a mooch round the Charity shops, while she is shopping. It will make a nice change instead of just going to Tesc#

The changed picture is the corvette HMS Bluebell.
My uncle Ralph was a stoker first class in the RN during WW11
He was on Bluebell stoking for all he was worth escorting Russian convoys.
Bluebell was torpedoed and sank.
Most of the crew, including uncle Ralph perished.

Afternoon All,
We had a spit of rain here about an hour ago but nothing else and its been sunny all day.........wish I'd done some washing now, it would have all dried. :-S
Frank, mum always liked me to take her to the charity shops in Oakham if we were out that way. We used to see some posh labels and good stuff there!! Your suit was a bargain wasn't it. Mum and I used to hunt for things for my brother when he wasn't well enough to work and when she ran the home, she would get odds and ends for her 'ladies'. Jane, someone will be very chuffed with your dress!!
I loved shipwreck too, played on the last day of term. We played it like a kind of 'tick' I think because the winner was the last one left. I know I would climb up one of the ropes taking the end up with me, then swing and try to grab the next rope to pull that up with me too. Then no-one could get to me!! I remember getting a few rope burns getting down though. Ouch!! Oh to have all that energy again!! lol
I'm at the hairdressers in the morning so I shall be joining you being fed up with the basins!!! I read somewhere that they thought they were a stroke risk having your head back so far. I slither forward on the seat so my head doesn't go so far back, but it is really uncomfortable whatever you do. My hairdresser washes before cutting and then again after to get rid of the hair bits so I go through it twice!! lol
There are a few wind turbines springing up around here. They have just put 4 near junction 20 of the M1. Now they are putting one the other side of the city. It will be massive, (436ft high) just a few feet shorter than Blackpool Tower and as high as the London Eye and it is believed it will be visible from 10 miles away.
Hope Shirl got on ok with her test at the hospital today and that Kim's neighbour had a good send off.

Yes Frank, it was lashing it down here this morning but the sun has come out now so I thought I would clear out the old shed and pull it down. That might spur my son on to erect the new one. If I see any BIG spiders you will hear me scream from Scotland to Devon.
Like Mandy, I prefer the boot sales, I'm so nosey, you never know what you might find. I have bought quite a few clothes, especially now having lost weight and have had to replace my wardrobe, I usually look for Monsoon or Principle or Wallis. I could never afford them from their shops, I'm not really into designer stuff but if I find it and it's nice I'll buy it. I heard one woman say to her friend "are you buying it because you like it or because it's cheap" and I thought ummm I'm guilty of that.
I'd better get back to sorting the shed, don't know where I'm going to put everything, bet it rains again before I've finished.

Off to tie my tom plants up now and give everything in the tunnel a good water then go and tidy the border as the rain and wind has made the lupins very untidy and they were tied up too!!!!!!! :-S
