Gosh we used to sing The gooid ship sails etc whilst skipping but I thought it was about a ship which sailed from the Tyne. Fiona Congratulations to your daughter and a good pass at that. What is she hoping to do now? Frankl You seem much better and thanks for the photos but please don't overdo it. Had lasagne wedges and salad for tea followed by poached plums ( Jam** Oliv** 30 min meals book) with rice pudding, gorgeous even if I say so myself. Now going to see if there is anything worth watching on tele. Has anyone managed to get Olympic tickets in the draw? We are still waiting. :D :D

Here we go It's to do with the Manchester Ship Canal built 1894. The big ship sails on the ally ally oh The ally ally oh The ally ally oh The Captain said it will never never do ,never never do,never never do The Captain said it will never never do On the last day of September
The big ship sank to the bottom of the sea the bottom of the sea The big ship sank to the bottom of the sea On the last day of September
We all dip our heads in the deep blue sea ,the deep blue sea ,the deep blue sea We all dip our heads in the deep blue sea .on the last day of September
I'm sure I have made some mistakes in typing this.
I am guessing the rhyme is of a ship that sank after being set to sea from Manchester.(on the last day of September)

I remember it too Ann, doesn't the next verse go something like: the captain said it will never never do, never never do, never never do, I can remember one girl would stand with her arm up as high as she could on the wall and all the rest of us would hold hands and go one at a time under.

Hi David. It is 30 years today!.Not sure how I've made it this far lol. There must be something.Funny thing is we are soooooo different. They do say opposites attract don't they. I think a low dose of aspirin (75mg)is a recommended dose for prevention of strokes.I know Chris takes one every day.You should be able to buy them without speaking to a Chemist.
Just rang Frank. He is ok.,and he thanks everyone for their concern. He is just taking it easy today and will be in touch with his GP tomorrow.
David I know you can't take Aspirin if you have any history of stomach ulcers.Aspirin thins the blood a bit which is why it may help prevent clots.
Still raining here ,just a bit heavier than drizzle now,and it is so dark. We are all stuffed after the full roast and some bubbly to celebrate.Chris has gone for a lie down.Chester is having a lie down ,and Hannah is stretched out on the settee.I seem to be the only one awake lol :P

Ooops Jane, I think I got in a bit of a muddle with your anniversary date........
Happy Anniversary to you both!! Where will your meal be on Wednesday? The Olive Branch?
The film we are going to is on tonight at Warwick Arts.
While I was clearing up after the Toad in the Hole (went down very well with OH) I suddenly remembered this song we used to sing at school in the playground......
The big ship sails on the ally-ally-oh The ally-ally-oh, the ally-ally-oh Oh, the big ship sails on the ally-ally-oh On the last day of September.
Congratulations to your daughter Fiona. I bet she's glad all that hard work has paid off.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary Jane, how long's it been? Good to see Frank making a return to the boards.Get well soon.
A week ago I asked a chemist for a bottle of low dosage aspirin. The guy behind the counter said you'll have to wait until the chemist comes back. What did he think I was going to do?top myself? I read a regular low dose is supposed to be good for pains in the legs and a lot safer than than statins. Is this so or rumour?

Frank ,a T I A is Transient Ischaemic Attack.(Mini Stroke). Chris says the fact no-one came out to you is disgraceful and you should put in a complaint.(and that is from a Dr)lol. He said if that is what it was you should recover in 24 to 48 hours.

Dull old day here, can't seem to make up its mind to rain or not but quite warm.
Happy Anniversary Jane and Chris, enjoy your day.
Glad to see Frank on the thread hope things get sorted. I'm surprised it took that long to get back to Ros, it could have been a stroke for all they knew and don't they say time is of the essence with strokes.
I forgot it was a bank holiday, it's all the same to me and I still go out and pick up ironing the good thing is there's hardly any traffic. I am a creature of habit, always do the shopping on the same day each week, and the ironing etc. I wouldn't know what day it was if I didn't.

Ann ,I always remember a friend of my Mum saying if you slept with too many pillows you got a double chin lol.I have 2 pillows ,and do like you have one overlapping the other. So one is under my neck and my head on the top one.I am always waking in the night to turn them over to get the cool sides, then plump them into the right shapes lol.Kicking off the Duvet ,hanging my feet out the side to cool them off, then dragging the Duvet back on again.I have such a hectic time at night, and all for the wrong reasons lol.No wonder Chris keeps telling me to go and sleep in the spare bed !.I say why can't he???? Enjoy the film this afternoon.

Hi All,
Good to see you posting Frank. I am with Ros on this........surprised they didn't get you checked out straightaway. Hope all goes well tomorrow and that you will soon be your old self again. No misbehaving and do as Ros says won't you!!!! xxxxxxx. Kim, if I ask my OH for a kiss on the cheek.........he asks which ones!!!! lol
That jacket was a good bargain Jane. I have had to fling the bedroom window open again the past few nights as it seems to get so hot. Soon I'll be sleeping with just a sheet over me. Our Sai*burys was heaving this morning and a little kid pulled over one of the tall advertising hoardings over with such force it whacked me hard in the face. The mother never even said sorry!!
That was the good thing about having a caravan. You get used to the bed and have your own pillows! I rarely sleep well elswhere and have a memory foam mattress too Fiona. I haven't tried the memory foam pillows though. When I was young I slept with NO pillow for a few years. Now I have 2 thin ones but have 1 half overlapping the other so it is a gradual slope!! lol OH perches himself on 3 thick pillows.......don't know how he sleeps. lol
Kim, sounds like a plumbers job with the drain. I often have dreams about drains blocking or collapsing into big sewer sytems underfoot that I don't know about, with the flow out of control!! OH says I'm weird!!
We are having the Toad in the Hole OH wanted today. Then later we are off to see a film. I think it's called Cedar Rapids.

Had lunch and think I may do some ironing this afternoon. I have piles of the stuff as while it was dry I just kept washing and bringing it in and dumping it on the linen dumper. Yes I use one of those plastic dumper bins that I use in the garden for the washing too. They are really great.

Hello from a very wet Yorkshire. It has been raining since we woke this morning and you can see the plants growing!! Hubby got back yesterday after a very good fortnight in France. He has had good weather and the clients all enjoyed themselves( he thinks). Thankfully the trains on the East Coast mainline and the underground were working normally and he got home from Heathrow within 4 hours. I am trying to dry his washing now but it is living out in the conservatory due to the rain. My neighbour is off to Crete tomorrow and she has had last minute washing out in her garden but it is just getting wetter and wetter. She has now taken it in and I expect the dryer is working overtime. Frank SO pleased that you are feeling a little better today but just rest until tomorrow. Do you have an out of hours call out system for the Dr? as NHS direct can only give advice.
Kim Hubby works for a company called Naturetrek and leads Wildlife holidays mainly in Europe although the company visit the whole world. Have a look at their website. This is his busy time of the year for bird watching and butterfies which are his speciality. He is retired really but loves the opportunity of sharing his hobby with other people. I have never minded his travelling as I am not as mobile as I once was and cannot go to some of these places ( especially climbing in the mountains). I have lots of interests and friends and, with the family, am kept fairly busy whilst he is away It's pouring now typical BH weather. Fiona So glad to hear that your daughter is well enough to go to work even though a little battered and bruised. Finally HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JANE and CHRIS :D :D
