Goodness, Fiona, have just seen your post, that must have given you a real shock, at least daughter and boyfriend aren't badly hurt, that's the main thing. Surely it's not up to the person hiring a car to check out tyres etc. what if the brakes were faulty you wouldn't know that until it was too late.

Maureen

Maureen Report 27 May 2011 15:21

Better start growing your own Frank, it's going to cost you a fortune otherwise, loved the photos when were they taken. I didn't imagine Ros to look like that, for me the name Ros conjures up a very slim person, which she probably is now having lost 5 stone.

I'm having one of those 'getting nothing done'' days so must shift myself in a minute. Can't even put it off till tomorrow as I'm off to youngest daughters, we are going bridal gown shopping and Sunday over to see the new baby.

When you said fa*t ars**ing about Kim it brought back memories of my old dad, that was one of his favourite sayings, and he always used words like 'thingymebob, whachamacallit and howsyourfather'.

It's probably a good idea to check your receipt, although I never do, my mum was charged twice for something and it always seems to be the more expensive item.

Oh my goodness Fiona.Thank heavens they are not badly hurt. What a shock for you.It sounds as thought they got away quite lightly.
That Hire company are definitely in the wrong for hiring out the car in an unroadworthy condition. It is not up to the person who hires the car!!!!.I hope they don't get off Scot Free.I'm glad your OH is home now.

Kim tomorrow a friend of Hannah's is staying the night. She is an Australian girl and stayed with us for Xmas.I think she is from somewhere near Sydney.I will ask her tomorrow

Just getting over a BIG SHOCK!!!!!!!!! :O

OH phoned from work to say daughter no 2 & boyfriend are in Inverness hospital following a car accident but apart from a few bumps and a fractured hand (boyfriend) they are all right , daughters boyfriend lost control of the car after it skidded and ended up side down in a ditch ,
The police were straight on the scene and said the hired car was a right off, none else was involved seemingly the car should never have been on the road, 1 tyre was bald, 1 was a snow tyre, should not have been on the car in the first place,
they said boyfriend should have checked all this before he took the car, his father is dealing with the car problems.

anyway the main thing is that they are both all right, they are going to stay with boyfriends parents for another night in during which time they will have to organise how they are getting home.
We might have to go up for them, but we do not know yet, OH says there's no need to rush up to Inverness today,
OH has come home and is working from here now. PHEW I have finely stopped shaking.

Frank, photos are never boring. I'v now got a special Genes folder set up full of all the photos received. My birthday is 2nd June, so I will be expectantly :D waiting - Irises and freesias are my favourites thanks. Jane what do you like best? You could probably get a discounted rate with Interflora if you order several arrangements!!!! :P :P :P I love earrings too, so if you're feeling generous a small pair would do nicely!!!!! hahaha Off you go and do the shopping.

I remember Tesco's; my first MIL worked in the one in Yeovil. She was very efficient on the checkout.

Fiona, that lady must feel like the carpet has been pulled out from under her!! What a dilemma for her and losing a sister so suddenly like that.

I'm backwards and forwards between the AFL and the rugby league and there's some chocolate around somewhere. I hid it and can't remember where. Daughter always eats it before I get a look in.

Fiona, that poor Lady will have a very difficult decision to make won't she.How sad her sister dying so young and unexpectedly like that.Especially as there are no other family members.I guess she has 2 choices. To either give up work and take the place of her sister or find a nice home for her Mum.We both know how hard that will be.

Ann that it good about your field. As you said you can now get back to your original plans for the garden.

Frank,Chris says to tell you he has pinched out the top of the Broad Beans lol

Now I am going to go and Goolge Bateau Bay Kim.

Hello all,

I have just taken all your photos with help from OH and put them all into a folder. Mel I have just seen your impressive building for the first time - had to install Winzip to view them. Your garden is lovely and everything so green!!! How much land would you be on? The beaches along our stretch are very pretty with lots of picnic areas and lookouts.

Frank you are a sweetheart :-) Ros will love her earrings and flowers for sure and it will cheer her up too. I do hope her pain has eased. Sussex Inlet would be about 5 hours south of here. I have been there a few times, such a pretty place and very popular with retirees. They either come up here or go down south. The coast where I live is becoming over populated and lost a lot of its appeal. They are carving up and tearing down all over the place. Sydney folk come up here for a holiday and find it is just the same as what they have just left. Too much power to too many developers!!!!

Annx that is a great win for the community and the heritage of the area. The State Government here wants to build public housing at The Entrance North on flood prone land. It is crazy when the area is inundated time and time again with King tides and the like; any heavy rain and it is under water again. My friend and her son appeared on the current affair programme that was covering the story. I had a giggle as they were meant to look appropriately "upset" and everyone was trying very hard not to smile.

Time for a cuppa, now I am in a real faff as to what to watch on tv.

Bye for now, Kim

Frank my birthday is coming up soon. Can I have some flowers too??? lol Happy days!!

:-) :-)

Morning everyone.
I still couldn't get on here early this morning .GR was still doing things.I gave up last night and just turned the pooter off.
I watched lost families and just managed to stay awake until the end.

It's been all go this morning.Last night Hannah was having trouble with one of her contact lenses.Said she couldn't get it out.Anyway she made her eye all sore and red by digging around,so decided she would pop into Boo** opticians this morning before getting the train to London.I had to drive her.So i was up with the lark, walked Chester and was in town by 8.45.
When the lady had a look in Hannahs eye ,there was no Lens !!!!!!! She had been trying to flip it out when it wasn't even there lol.So she came away with some drops and told not to put any lens in until tomorrow.
Dropped her off at the station and then went to Tes**.I picked up some dishwasher tablets which were half price. But when I checked the receipt it still showed £14 .I went to customer services and ,I couldn't believe it ,but I was refunded the whole £14 and came away with 40 free tablets !! Brilliant .
I normally never check my bill.
Just going to have a quick coffee

Morning All,

Brighter morning here today, but the wind won't go away. !!!! Ros has poped over to see her Saturday shopping friend, she has twisted her knee, and can't walk. I bet we end up getting her weekly shop, as well as ours. We are going this afternoon.

I need to go to a card shop. It's our 33rd aniversary on the 3rd June. and I would be murdered if I forgot a card. !!!! Have already bouth some ear rings, will get a bouquet delivered, so that will please her. She loves flowers.
Kim, I have an ols school friend who lives inSUSSEX INLET. N.S.W. 2540. Do you know of it,???? and how far away from you ????

Going to get Showered and Shaved and be ready for when Ros comes back.

Evening Kim
Morning Mel lol :-)

Maureen got your pics of Finley , wow don't you to look alike ,he is fairly growing, hard to believe he's already 15 months old.

Sun has been out this morning but not for long and there is still that wind, that wind spoils everything especially when it rains, if it would stay dry I could get some washing on the line.
Daughter no 2 coming to stay over night tomorrow as boyfriend is going to Dundee with some pals,

Oh got a phone call in Paris yesterday from one of the ladies in his office in Glasgow, she was very upset as her sister (58) passed away sometime during Tuesday night. she had been unwell , but not life threatening so it has come as a huge shock, unfortunately the poor woman has now the terrible decision of what will happen to her mother who was living with her sister as her mother has dementia.
the woman herself is on her own and has no other relatives near by and has a full time job, and has lived on her own for the last 16 years after being divorced,
she wants OH to go round and sort out her sisters fish tank, she does not want it, and the mother cannot look after it.
I think it could also be a cry for help as she used to load all her worries onto OH when he was working full time in the office

Morning All,

Just caught up with your posts. Kim I had a look at Bateau Bay on Wiki. Looks lovely. Such blue sea!!

OH has done some more of the new build after trying to get the cement mixer to work as when his brother was here helping he pulled all the wires out of the motor and it put all our eletric out. I wonder if thats what was making him cross at the begining of the week? The mixer is not ours but the friends who looked after our livestock while we were away. They borrow our trailer to pick up horse feed in return!! We like a bit of bartering.

Dry this morning but a bit overcast. Last night I put washing on the line late and could'nt be bothered to bring it in as it was just as wet. Then at one point it fell out the sky but this morning it feels about as wet as when I put it out.

My old red roses on the top wall are all in flower and doing quite well considering they are about 20 years old. They only flower once.

Not caught any bunnies lately but have seen about 5 big ones jumping around through the top archway into the veg garden. OH says they are too far away to shoot.

Shirl you faff in Canada and I'll faff in Bateau Bay. I used it today - my daughter didn't have a clue what I was talking about, haha. I would normally say "stop fart-a**ing around and get on with it". We are going to have a "faffing" good time from now on :D :D :D

Sunny here today, got my washing out, but not much warmth in the sun for drying and then the black clouds came over about 3.30 pm, so I transferred it all to the garage.

Keith was out to lunch today with a couple of other brokers. He had a pot pie, with chips and salad, yum, at an outdoor restaurant "Cheeky Charlie's". Google Bateau Bay and have a look at my area, if you are interested.

Must away, dinner is nearly ready.
