I made soup this morning and had a bowl full for lunch I think it was the best yet Certainly had my five a day in it.One large quite wrinkled Parsnip, One medium not fresh carrot, a handful of sugar snap peas, a quarter of a large cauliflower about 2 weeks old, half a courgette a couple of past their best mushrooms a large tomato, a small piece of leek, a vegetable cube, a teaspoon of termeric and half teaspoon of ground ginger, black pepper and garlic salt plus two very small pieces of a chilli. It was spicy and not too hot and the dominant taste was parsnip and it was really nice.

12 degrees here but I have just spent half an hour in the, very damp under foot, garden. Just tidying up and weeding the pots on the gravel. Then fifteen minutes 'chatting' to Skinny in the conservatory. Went to empty the dishwasher and found I had put the tablet in yesterday evening but forgotten to switch it on so that is doing a quick wash now. also did a towel wash and some are in the drier now. Just about to go and have a cup of coffee. Lots of tulip bulbs popping up now and two lovely hyacinths in flower from a couple planted after they flowered indoors in previous years.

Morning girls,
About the same here I think. rained last night in the evening so everywhere is wet and its 10 degrees here and I think at the moment the wind has dropped from yesterday.
Nothing much planned here so may do some cleaning although I get on so much better when the sun shines and shows me all the cobwebs.

Good morning AnnG and all
Everywhere is very wet after plenty of overnight rain again. It doesn’t seem to be too cold though I haven’t put my nose outside yet. The forecast for today is thick cloud so I don’t suppose we’ll see much of the yellow stuff. Good job our daffs have done well and are a nice, bright, sunny yellow.
Not sure what I shall do today. I need to book a delivery slot and get a food order in as I want a delivery this weekend. Then I might sow a few seeds in trays indoors.

Good morning all. 9 degrees here but looking very grey so far. Nothing planned for today except to wash my hair. If it stays dry. I might get out into the garden. It won't look decent until I can cut the lawn but it is still too wet for that.

Just been to the U3a monthly meeting and it is wet and cold out. 7 degrees but feels colder.
Good meeting we had a member of our photography group giving a film with music of his own photos of a photographic trip to Japan. Fantastic photos and really interesting. Interesting to see how, despite the snow laying very deep over night, nothing stopped. And the rail system where over so many years the longest delay was five.......... seconds. :-D

Ahhh dear old Skinny he's good company for you when he pops in.
I have to go across the road and drops some things off to my friends over there.
I have had quite a good morning painting some mini bread for the dolls houses and done one lot of casting fed the wild birds and chickens and had lunch. Now I feel all relaxed as I think I ate too much.
Its turned extremly cold here and the sky is all grey which dos'nt give you any enthuiasum to do anything. Pc says raining now and 7 degrees but it feel a lot colder than that and my hands are all stiff with the cold.

Morning Vera and all,
I know just what you mean Vera. I used to get all the HW done in the morning and go shopping in the afternoon come home and cook a dinner. Those days are well gone now but I think I must do some HW today too. I keep putting it off but my desk needs a good tidy up and a good dust. I don't know where it all comes from I swear the hoover leaks.

good morning all 0 degrees here and bright but there was a frost last night, still on the roofs and cars.
Well, the noise I can hear, like a faint clicking is the drain pump (that pumps water up into the water holder that has to be emptied) vibrating. Apparently it will probably get worse but is not doing any harm. to change it would be over £100 but it is useable and all these parts are out of stock. He suggests I leave it until it gets worse then call him again he has charged £69 for a service and clean and lubrication. If it goes wrong within three months then he will just charge for the part fitting (I assume that is if he can get it.) I will know to stop using it when there is no water in the holder. I thought you could let Rachel know this although yours should have a few years life before it starts to vibrate.
He made me laugh when he asked for a brush and dustpan to clean the carpet behind the drier.
anyway conservatory all back to normal now and Skinny appeared just before he left and was not at all bothered by this strange man in the conservatory.

Good morning all
It looks beautiful outside, sunny and bright, but it’s only 1 degree.
I hope you are feeling better now Mandy.
I did just half an hour in the garden yesterday. It was depressing seeing all the plants that have died. I am planning on a h/w day today and hope OH will give me a hand.as I would like to get quite a bit done. I hate admitting it but I can’t whizz round the way I used to.
Have a good day everyone

I did print out my TV licence and know it runs out on 30th Nov. every year but this time when I paid it it was a little late and they did'nt send me a reply like usual. You can do a check to make susre you have one which is what I did as it makes you think, did I pay it? I had looked on my bank statements too and the money had come out.
Anyway we have had a beautiful sunny day here all day but now its gone down it feels realy chilly and pc is saying rain tonight thne mostl clo0udy and 7 degrees.
The mower man rang today to say they were coming this afternoon to pick up both mowers. A nice young man came and winched them both into the back of his big van and took the deck of the old one too to put that on when its mended. That one has to have a new started and I think the solinoid has gone on the newer mower but he did take the grass box and brushes off before he took it. I rang BIL and told him they were coming so he said he would be down at the weekend to start a bit of clearing in the garage.
I did some casting this morning and cleaned them up but have only painted a couple of them as they were still a bit et and the paint dos'nt take then.
You'll be glad the dryer is mended Anng perhaps now we will get some nicer weather so you won't need it. Ha ha ha.
Nice to see Mandy drop in and I hope it is the pills making her fatigued and not covid if she tests again tonight. Sending love. <3
Just going to cook now, Iv'e done the tatoes and now I am going to cook liver and bacon with some broccoli.

Mandy have you read the information paper that is in with your pills? It may just be your body getting used to the new medication.

Morning all,
6 degrees here this morninv and we have some lovely sunshine but there are a few black looking clouds about . The last couple of days I have felt very worn out and tired so I thought I'd better do a covid test this morning but that was negative ,when I was talking to son and he said lots of people at the school had tested negative in the morning then tested again at night and it was positive so I think I'll do another test tonight to make sure . The doctor rang this morning and my blood test was OK so that was good ,I never thought to ask if these new blood pressure tablets would make me tired but the pharmacy lady said she would ring and see how I'm getting on with the new tablets so I'll ask her ,I always seem to have trouble with new tablets when I first had my arthritis tablets I had to try lots before they found one I could take that didn't give me indigestion.
Mel we pay our tv license every three months and the last letter we had giving our payment due dates has the phone number 0300 790 6116 it's saying that is their main number.

Mel it looks like this is the query phone number. 0300 790 6165
Is there a phone number on the piece that you printed out? Or the do not reply email. You do need to know it is not a scam and you do need to sort it out.

Good morning Mel, AnnG and all
4 degrees but with a strong breeze from the North so it feels like -1. It’s also raining again.
Mel, are you sure that TV licence thing isn’t a scam? To get in touch with them, go onto their website and use the Contact Us form. I think there is also a telephone number and postal address for them.
We have a slot at the tip at 12.15 so the highlight of my day is going to be a trip out to get rid of lots of rubbish. Otherwise there’s nothing planned.

Vera at least sub titles give us some laughs. I can see Shells from showers but ‘cabbages’?
Yes they have two boys aged 7 and 10 in July. Mum has always been hands on with them and their social life is mainly with her sisters and brother and parents who all live near poor grandson only has his brother and wife near. I think they will continue to get on ok he was just too quiet for her. He is a good dad though and they have amicably sorted out the finance. She stays in the house until next year I think the. It will be sold he is living with his brother. They get on well.

Mel, I buy Elmlea all the time because of the long shelf life. The blue pack can be used the same as you would use double cream. I find it very useful to keep in the fridge then it’s always handy if I fancy cooking a recipe that needs double cream. I’m glad the trip to the dentist was OK.
You had a good deal on your jacket AnnG. Why is it when you see something you’d like to buy they only have it in very small or very large sizes? Depending on the make I need a 12 or a 14 and they always seem to sell out first. I detest shopping at the best of times and really, really hate shopping for clothes for me. It must be a difficult time for your grandson and his wife. I think you said they had 2 little boys. I hope they can sort everything out as amicably as possible and keep life as normal as possible for the children.
Today has been mostly sunny and dry but, my goodness, it’s been blowing a hooly. I washed clothes and bedding and nearly got blown over hanging it out. Twice I had to rescue one of OH’s shirts from a flower bed and the sheets were flapping like sails. I thought the whole rotary line would take off at any minute. It was all dry just after lunch and smells all fresh. It makes a change from the previous few weeks when I’ve had to dry everything indoors.
Yesterday our neighbour brought us in 2 big chunks of Guinness gingerbread as he had been cooking for a charity tea. Today he has been cooking via Zoom with his grandchildren overseas so he has brought us in blueberry yoghurt cake. We are so lucky with our neighbours in our little Close.
I’ve felt quite strange today - very tired and sort of light headed. It’s a bit like the early stage of a migraine.but it hasn’t developed. I think I’ll have a quiet evening and an early night.
Sending a wave to say hallo to everyone who posts from time to time ~~~~~~~~~~~. Hope you are all OK.
:-D :-D. :-D @ AnnG. I look forward to the higher cabbages and hope the heavy shells contain some pearls
