Morning Mel ,morning all,

Sunny here at the moment but we should have showers through the afternoon, I've hung some washing out but must keep an eye on it as there is a few clouds looming.

Mel that was what we had yesterday it went so black it really came down hard .

Not a lot planned for today ,Colin wants to get some more canes in for the runners he put the upright ones in but they need some canes across the top to support the upright ones .
We need to get the lights on the gazebo now we have the hooks .

Morning all,

Woke to bright sunshine came out and made my COC and looked out the front window and there was this huge grey cloud with blue sky all around it and suddenly it poured with rain for about three mins and then it stopped and now we are back to blue sky with big white clouds. It came down so hard it was bouncing off my car roof.

Pc says mostly cloudy and 12 degrees. Nothing planned for today as I hurt my knee just before bed last night and it still hurts this morning even though I put Merlin on it again last night. (Merlin is my monkey wheatbag oh bought me)

Hope you all slept well or got enough to get you through the day.

Meal sounded really lovely Vera I am please he had a good day and lots of phone calls even if they were on your phone. Naughty man.

Thank you all for your birthday wishes for OH He has had a really good day with lots of phone calls and texts from friends and family, mostly on my phone. I don’t think he can have given anyone his number. We had booked a table at a very nice restaurant in a very old, thatched barn that we’ve been to a few times for special occasions. It’s a bit pricey for everyday but the food, service and general atmosphere are good. Today there was a pianist and saxophonist playing as well. We both had 3 courses and neither of us left a thing but didn’t want anything to eat tonight.

Mel, your scallops in their shells are amazing. You must have very nimble fingers to do such fiddly things. I’m full of admiration.

We seem to be going through one of those busy spells when everything is happening at once and I know tomorrow will be a bit hectic as well. There just don’t seem to be enough hours in the day.

Well done on the scallops Mel so tiny and perfect. And I hope your OH has had a great day Vera

O I meant to say Happy Birthday Mr. Vera too. Don't know where the day has gone and I fell asleep after my last post and woke at 18.56pm.

Glad you like my little dishes of Scallops and yes they will go on Ebay with other Tudor stuff.Just having a COC and then I shall get something to eat to end my day.

Showery all morning here so I daren't put washing out even though it's sunny just now.
Just reported yet another spam email!

I've had a blood pressure monitor for over 20 years since OH's BP was borderline once. I do checks every couple of months or so, but it is important as they get older to pop to the chemist with them so they can check them for accuracy against theirs. I do the same as Gwyn and do two readings. My second time is often lower with being more relaxed.

The lights will look pretty around your gazebo Mandy.

Gwyn the schools here only broke up on Friday and just have the coming week off school. It must be annoying for parents with children at schools in different areas where the holidays can be different. I see you have been filling your garden bin as well. I've noticed some small weeds sprouting where I have already weeded so need to get the hoe out before I have to do it all again.

Food delivery this afternoon and two items will have to go back out of the four subs. I want the strong weedkiller for the yellow clover and OH certainly won't eat sardines in a spicy sauce!

AnnG that is good and will be appreciated that you kindly contribute to the cost! If anyone gives me a lift anywhere I always insist on paying towards the petrol and even leave money in the glove box if I have to. lol. I haven't seen a Bullfinch for years, but they are beautiful birds so that was lucky to spot a pair of them. Enjoy your lunch out today.

Better get ready for the food delivery, they should be here at 4.00pm.

I have to admit that I put them somewhere safe and now I can't find them. They will turn up when I am looking for something else.

I have eaten too much too Anng and can hardly move now so I am going to take it easy today. Knees a lot better today so I don't want to hurt it again doing gardening.

Had sunshine and showers today and pc now says mostly cloudy and high winds later and thunderstorms. Its 14 degrees.

Lunch was very nice. I had scampi, chips and a nice side salad. The chips at that restaurant are always. Very nice, and lots of them. I can never eat them all. Afterwards I had sticky toffee pudding so am now stuffed.

Mel have you made anything with the shells I sent you?

Gwyn you've been busy inthe garden too. It seems we are all starting to make some changes in our gardens and for the better. Lets hope we do get some nice weather for us to all enjoy the gardens at their best. I always love May and June I think they are my two favorite months of the whole year.

It must be getting near lunch time as I am hungry and its big breakfast day today.

After a very wet night, the sun is now shining, but we're glad that we set to and did quite a bit in the back garden yesterday, while it was dry and sunny, but not too hot. A lovely little robin was taking a keen interest and several times came really close to us to check whether we had uncovered a tasty snack for him.
Plenty in the garden bin, which makes it worth the council fee.
Daughter also potted up some rhubarb plants we had been given. I hope they do well.

Enjoy your lunch AnnG. I'm sure your family appreciate your kindness.It's lovely that you are able to share special family holidays with them.

I too bought a blood pressure machine, so that I could send in readings. The nurse at the surgery told me to take it more than once at a 'sitting' and send in the lower reading. Take it at the same time each day, so that you can make a fair comparison. I found it best to take a reading fairly soon after I got up and before drinking coffee or tea. I hope your painkillers continue to help, so that you have more comfortable days.
A busy week ahead, but no school, as they are on the 2nd week of a holiday break, before term 6 starts on 3rd June.

Good morning all. A bit grey here but was sunny earlier. We are going out to lunch today. My treat. I do pay my way here, paying a third of all bills including petrol but I like to pay for a meal out as a thank you.

Raining here again and we might have thunder storms later.
Yesterday I couldn't get warm it was chilly all day and rained all day .

Don't think we'll see son and dil today as they called in yesterday with some shopping for us and stopped and had a coffee ,son ordered us a blood pressure machine as I have to send some readings in and he also ordered some metal hooks so we can hang some new lights we bought for the gazebo and they should come today .

Morning all,

Quite a bright morning today and pc says partly sunny and 14 degrees at the moment but it feels colder. I hadt o turn my oil filled little rad on last night I was so cold. Don't know if BIL may come today or not.

Dreamt about the bird on the lake last night but its definately gone now.

Missed you there vera. You were busy in the garden and for once grateful ehe. It rained.

We just had a beautiful pair of bullfinches on the plum tree right by the dining room window. The male was so bright, what a treat.

With what you say your pain does sound like a strain AnnG especially as you had been doing some awkward gardening. Hopefully it will settle down soon with resting it when you can and taking the strain a bit with your stick. I've been thinking and remembered a long time ago we stayed at Alnmouth for a few days near Alnwick on that coast and I remember there was a nice beach there and easy to access it. It's the only time I have visited that bit of coast though.

It's good you are feeling a bit better Mandy and worth being careful what you eat if it has eased the pain. I hope you get your scan appointment soon.

You've been busy Vera! I came across our out of date covid tests earlier this year too and ditched them. Then I bought a fresh one just in case. I've still a cupboard to do in the ensuite and haven't started on my clothes yet, so you are well ahead of me. I have some ancient perfumes I should probably get rid of as one certainly doesn't smell like it used to and the can go off can't they. I only use them in winter now since I had that nest of wasps sting me.
