No thunder but we have had really heavy rain and gale force winds. Glad I don't have to go out today.

We've had a heck of a thunderstorm that kept knocking the leccy out lashing hail and rain. The hailstones settled for a long while and the wind is gale force. Loads of really loud thunder so I shut down the pc and waited.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo

Boiled beef and carrots boiled beef and carrots. It just came into my head. We used to have it when I was young with pease pudding from a tin. I wonder if they still do pease pudding?

They do it in Sainsbury's and its still in the same tin, Foresight pease pudding. Now where on earth did that memory come from?

Morning Anng and all,

Quite bright here too this morning but its 9 degrees here and pc says cloudy and its a bit windy too. We have blue sky with white clouds but they are noving quickly across the sky.

Nothing planned here either so I shall do a bit of HW (UHG) and some casting maybe and get a few more coats on the moulds I am making.

Its bin day tomorrow so I have toget that sorted and up the top as they come quite early.

Yes it was me who copied and pasted William's post so you could see them again.

Been an awful day here with wind thats so cold it was biting.

I did a bit of hoovering and sucked up some of those leggy spiders in the hall and little loo so I feel like I have done enough housework for today.

Had my liver and bacon tonight and I must admit it was really tender but I over cooked the sprouts so they were a bit soft. I like them with a bit of bite to them.

Wonder if that was because it was a repeat. Gwyn, you will have seen that I thought one was undelivered so sent a repeat.

Afternoon all,

Thanks for the photo's Anng, like Mel I liked the building with the ivy too .

Wet windy and really dreary here its supposed to be 13 degrees today but when I nipped out to the recycling bin it felt like the Arctic out there .

So you have a bit of colour in the garden with your Forsythia in flower Gwyn ,I noticed some of the leaves on my Camellia have gone brown with the frost so I pushed the pot more into a corner by the woodshed to try and protect it .

Oh I see the rain has eased a bit and the green household bin needs to come in as they have just emptied it so I'll go and get it in .

Good afternoon all.
Thank you Ann for sharing the photos. Interesting to see all the different types of brick and stonework.
Great to see reflections in the water.... and even a hint of blue sky too... Lovely.

A bleak miserable day here. Laptop tells me it's cloudy :-S
but that's a bit of an understatement and it's wild winds and wet really.

Gardens round here are rather sodden, but still flowers are blooming. There is a lovely pink camelia in the next street, my forsythia continues to have more flowers and there are 2 large trees of lovely pussy willow in the school grounds.

Now things are getting weird! My posting that went AWOL has turned up under Mel's name as above! Stranger and stranger.

Regarding Mel's prior post, Carmel broke her femur about four years ago now and ours is the same story. Her mobility went down hill and I have to push her in her wheelchair when out and last July we got a car with more boot space to accommodate both the wheelchair and shopping.

Or is Mel re-posting my messages? I really don't know any more!

31st Dec

Just to say 'Hi to SuffolkVera, yes I eased up with all the caring I had on here but I have always kept on my GR account and still treasure my GR friends.
I think Suffolk is one county I haven't written a poem about even though my native county of Essex bordered Suffolk. Cumria, Scotland, Cornwall and Essex I have done. These were supported from some of the artwork I have in my on-line 'Sketchbook' (also on Facebook). We have such a lovely country and I often wonder why some folk need to go abroad. Of course the answer is always, 'The Sunshine!.' Meanwhile I say abou Suffolk, if it was good enough for John Constable, it is certainly good enough for me.
It's a shame these posting don't have the facility for graphics, it would mean that we could share so much more.
When I started this thread my wife although I was her carer, was still pretty mobile. Three years ago she had a fall and broke her femur which has resulted in a progressive loss of mobility and when we go out, I have to push her in her wheelchair. Still we manage, we have a bigger car so the wheelchair will fit in and in better days, we still manage the occasional day out when the weather and her health are for the better.
Oh, well I've rattled on long enough. Time for a some breakfast. I think a spot of simple cereal's is in order after some of the richer festive fare.
Although this started out aimed at Suffolk Vera, I hope all have had a chance to have a browse. This is my best time, early in the morning with no demands on my time. Bless you all.

3rd Jan

Good morning folk. A bit more info for SuffoldVera about my origins. I can claim to be both an Eastender and also an Essex boy. I was born in Stratford (later London E15) in 1935 and my birth certificate is from West Ham, which at that time was in Essex. When the war broke out in 1939, our home, an upstairs flat in Cedars Road, Stratford, was badly war damaged. Mum, my brother and myself were evacuated to St Osyths, on the Essex coast. Meanwhile Dad found us a property to rent in Chadwell Heath and that's where I grew up. Even when I was in the RAF, my main posting was to RAF North Weald, between Epping and Ongar. It was on my demob that I relocated to the Midlands.
End of life story LOL
Must close, need to get to the post box, that's if Royal Mail are working. Our mail is all over the place and a lot of late pre Christmas mail is arriving. My latest booklet of poems posted out on December 19th are only just reaching recipients.

I do miss our Ann and wish she would post again.

My driver is one stop away but that could be 15 miles for all I know.

Hi to Will nice to see you posting. I wish Frank would come back too.

Anng the photos were good and very interesting. You must have picked the right day to go for light levels.
