It has been lovely here today quite sunny and warm so all the doors are open into the garden. Friend who lives opposite came for coffee this morning, her visits are usually a marathon and, as usual she left at 1.30pm. Good to have a long chat/gossip though. while we were talking skinny the cat walked into the conservatory, ignored us chatting in the lounge and just jumped up onto his usual chair in the conservatory and went to sleep. He got down and wondered off about 2.30 but then he came back and went back to sleep. I guess he was up all night.

I have found out where Cynth got her covid from, her friend who comes to help with her accounts and his wife have apparently had it. He was here Wednesday, his wife has just tested negative, he is still positive. Luckily I have not been with Cynth since Tuesday.

I only had one sub but what a good one it was, even the delivery man was impressed. I ordered a litre bottle of Bombay Blue gin which retailes aroun £23-£25 a bottle and was on offer for £20. Out of stock so they sent two 70Cl bottles for £20 , they usually retail at about£13 a bottle. can't be bad.

Afternoon All,

It's 17 degrees here now and I still seem to be a bit too hot one minute and chilly as soon as I open the outside doors. I agree it isn't really like hayfever as you say AnnG, apart from the tiredness. I feel less tired today so think it must be a bit of a bug I've picked up this last week with going out a bit more, or brought home from one of OH's meetings. There's no sore throat, runny nose or cough or I would be thinking covid. It's the food drop day here too and apart from having to order a few alternatives already, there are still 8 subs this time. Most are ok although OH won't be keen on some.

It sounds like we may all be doing our crafts today as it looks like rain here with grey skies. I've decided to go back to watercolour this week as it may work better for the painting I've sketched. I must remember to work the opposite way round to acrylic though, light to dark instead of dark to light.

It's good you can still make your miniatures after all these years Mel. We haven't seen any more bunnies since that one I spotted. With nothing grazing the field now the grass is too long to spot anything though.

Morning al,

Quite bright here this morning but some grey cloud has just come over to the north. I thought oh said it was going to be dry today. Pc says 16 degrees and cloudy.

Oh called me to come outside yesterday afternoon just as he had gone out the door. I looked down the garden expecting to see a bunny as we are running alive with them again this year but no, we had a rainbow down by Prickley Bottom and the end of it was just by the bantam house on the grass. I tried to take a pic but don't think it has come out.

That also reminds me my dear old banty laid her 14th egg of the season yesterday. I thought she may stop at a bakers dozen but no another one to paint a pie with.

Good morning all seems bright out there at the moment but it is still early, 9 degrees.

Tesco delivery this morning, that is the highlight of my day!! I do need to go and post a few cards though. July is a busy month for birthdays for me. although, the important one is missing now.

Ann hope you feel ok today, that sounded like the onset of a cold, I don't think you go hot and cold with hayfever.

I did a bit of painting this afternoon and then went out and helped oh clear up the rest of the hedge from the west side as he had the big trailer round there. I also cut down a few docks under the big ash tree and fed the strawberries in the shed. The toms in the greenhouse and various plants on the patio.

Sounds likje you had a good day out with a lovely lunch too and treating yourself to some clothes.

I have been making little cow creamers. Really enjoying it again and am so glad I can still manage to do it after 22 years. I did do some when first with oh as a friend in Suffolk had an antique shop and she used to sell them in there.

Now its time to get the dinner but its quite easy as we have pitts bread tonight with lamb burgers and salad and a nice bottle of Merlot, well half a bottle really as I have the rest tomorrow as oh has a beer as well he ony has one glass.

Oh I would have loved your lunch AnnG! I would have enjoyed what your friend had too! You were good to tackle some HW when you got back as well. I'm not good at that once I have been out.

I've been a bit off the pace today, hot one minute and cold the next. I have sneezed a bit too so wonder if it is hayfever although I have taken antihistamines this week.

It has rained on and off all day today, but I can almost see the courgettes growing bigger. No big trusses of toms though like I usually get with Gardeners Delight.

ann yes we had coffee in one very attractive little cafe and lunch in another lovely cafe. I had jacket potato with mushrooms (medium sized cut in half) sauted in a stilton sauce with a lovely fresh side salad. It was really tasty. My friend had Quiche and coleslaw which also looked nice.

the sun has come out here but it is very wet out there, 15 degrees can;t really do anything with it sll so wet. I will need to go down to the greenhouse though. I have cleaned the bathroom and dusted my bedroom and the lounge and dining roo, and also done the monthly accounts so I will probably have a look at card making.

Afternoon All,

It's raining here which we really need, but is very dull and 17 degrees. OH has decided to watch footie on the TV I think, but that may change if the rain stops knowing him. :-)

That's good you found some clothes to buy AnnG. I haven't been in a shop to look at clothes since before the pandemic over 2 years ago. There is a new T K Maxx on the new part of the retail park half mile away and I want to go an have a look before covid cases get much worse. I have bought just a few things online though. Did you eat anywhere while you were out?

I need to finish the food shopping list today. It soon comes around again. I also need to start the next painting and am doing an easier scene this week as there was a lot of work doing those cottages last time.

Mandy you do really well with your cues and I bet the children enjoy the little ones. I am hoping my new radishes I have planted do better this time. There's been no sign of my sunflowers so I bet the mice have dug them up. I should have started them in the greenhouse really.

Anng did you buy anything on your trip out yesterday?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 2 Jul 2022 10:00

Morning all,

Raining and very grey here this morning not the kind of morning that makes you want to do anything. I can't really say we've had much good weather this year just a few hot day and thats about it.

I dreamt I was on the beach last night looking for shells for crafts and I found a big cuttlefish bone.

Just the shop to do this morning and get the paper for the tv programs, not that I watch a lot of it as theres not much on I like. i did watch Sherwood, did anyone else watch that? We hav'nt had OUr Yorkshire Farm for ages now. I wonder how they are getting on with renervating the old farmhoiuse she bought?

Morning Anng, morning all,

11 degrees here with nice sunshine but it's quite breezy .
Just picked two big cues and 4 small ones so the children will be happy .
Not a lot planned for the rest of the day ,I might get a bit of stitching done later and make a sponge as we haven't had one for ages .

AnninGlos Report 2 Jul 2022 08:24

Good morning. a bit grey hear and very windy and apparently 11 degrees. PC says mostly sunny but that is probably in Wiltshire somewhere.

Nothing planned for today, depending how the weather progresses I should cut the lawn but I will see. :-) :-)

Iv'e tried PVA in with the plaster but I cold'nt paint watercolour on it. If I paint with acrylic on the plaster it comes out shiney and sometimes you don't want it shiney. I am better with the watercolour and I have got a jug out this afternoon.

Mince and mash and greens for me and chilli for oh so I better get his rive on as mines all done and can go in the microwave.

Done some painting and ironing and a little bit of deadheading today and we went to Hatherleigh for petrol this morning.

Annx Report 1 Jul 2022 10:43

Morning All,

Dull, dry and 15 degrees at the moment. I need to shower next and water the toms and cues before we go out for lunch.

I forgot to say that the other night I found a photo on someone's tree of my gt grandmother's sister and husband. It is exciting when you find these old photos as there were so few at that time. Wouldn't it be great though if we could see what colours they wore. I must have another look and see if they have any other old photos.

That's a shame about the breakage with the mould Mel, but thin bits like handles must be at risk. Would it be possible to mix something with the plaster to make it a bit stronger do you think, even a bit of PVA glue mixed in when you do things with handles might stop them snapping when you get them out.

Tewkesbury is nice AnnG so enjoy your trip with your friend. I hope you find something nice to buy while you are there.

Morning all,

Had an email about my tree this mroning and have been ooking through it.

Quite bright and had a little light rain already pc says rain coming and 13 degrees.

Oinch and a kick for being so quick Anng. Enjoy your trip to Tewkesbury and don't spend too much.
