I forgot to tell you I bought another geraniium at the shop on Saturday, its a lovely white with a bright pink flash on the petals.
Looked inthe shed this morning and I have another couple of long beans up! Trust me to jump in and buy more.
I have done a little craft this morning and had the bottom drawer in the fridge out and washed it all ready for tomorrows onslaught. I have a big pot of steak, carrots and onions on the cooker so that can go on and I should get either two pies out of it or a stew and a pie. Now I am going to go and get lunch.

Morning Everyone,
It's reached 16 degrees here now and is sunny. We both had a bad night with the 'trots'. OH was up and down 8 times in the night and I started this morning. I was still near the end of the 24 hour urine test, needing to collect every drop for 24 hours so I leave it to your imagination how tricky that was with other things going on. Men's plumbing is so much more convenient!!! I'll say no more other than we both seem ok now but we waited till 10.00am before risking accidents taking the sample bottle to the surgery. We wondered if the lunch we ordered yesterday was the cause.
That's good your aches are much better today Mel and you feel ready for another ache making session in the garden. Bearded Iris are lovely aren't they. What colours do you have? I want to plant up the second wall pot this afternoon and put some of the Geraniums in other pots. I have some leek plants that really need to go in now too. I am so thrilled to have seen the geraniums through the winter thanks to everyone's advice.
Glad you had a pleasant time with your friends Vera even though the food wasn't quite as good as you hoped. At least it wasn't too busy either.
I'm glad you all appreciated my efforts with the painting and I must get started on the next one today.
The windowcleaner came, so that's done now and I have watered the greenhouse and beans. :-)

Morning Anng and all,
Looks like it could be quite a nice day here today but pc says 12 degrees and cloudy which it is at the moment but you can see blue sky through them.
Wrist is a lot better today and not so achey all around so a day off yesterday must have helped and perhaps if it stays dry I may go up the border for asecond time and make myself achey again. I'm a sucker for punishment......... but want to get some more of it done. My bearded iris's were out yesterday and only two flowering this year as I did dig some of them up last year.

Good morning all looks quite bright out there. PC says it will be 20 degrees today but at the moment here it is only 5. PC does cover a much wider area.
Vera yes Alexa would be useful (if it kept working ok) for somebody with mobility problems. I don't use it much and there are about five dotted round the house. I have used it to play music, run the water feature (the one that has just stopped working) And I am sure there is more I could do if I only knew what was set up. I suppose if like my daughter, you set up your own it would be ok, When Tony first fell, it was the alexa in my bedroom that alerted me to a problem as it was flashing. As I had my hearing aids out I didn't hear him call. But it is a bit like the TV remote it can make you lazy. Think of the exercise we had when we had to get up toswitch on/off and change programmes.
Not sure what I am doing today yet, only just up and not dressed.

After a dull start it has been a lovely warm, sunny, day here but a cold wind has got up now and the forecast is for the temperature to drop quite low tonight. I’ve been hardening off plants and the last couple of nights I’ve left everything but the smallest seedlings outside but I’ve just put the geraniums back in the little greenhouse and the rest of the plants can come into the conservatory again tonight. I don’t want to lose them just as they are getting going.
Ann, I don’t know why you weren’t happy with your rocks in the sea painting. I think it’s very good and you’ve really captured the colours and the movement in the sea. Best of luck with this week’s work. It does look difficult and, as you say, not very interesting but I suppose you are getting practice in different techniques.
I’m with you AnnG when you say it’s often easier to get up and do a job yourself than rely on technology. I’m quite pleased my OH isn’t a gadget geek and is quite happy not to have Alexa and the like, though I can see these gadgets could be useful for someone with more limited mobility. You have been busy in your garden again.
You’ve been busy gardening as well Mel. You are all putting me to shame. I hope all your aches are easing a bit now. It’s horrid if you hurt your hand or wrist as you need to use them all the time for everything. I laughed at your Houdini of a sock. What is it about socks that one invariably gets lost? OH had one missing for ages. I wouldn’t let him throw the other one of the pair away as I was sure it would come to light sometime. Well, quite recently it showed itself. OH put on a shirt he hadn’t worn for a while and as he put his arm through the sleeve his sock dropped out at the wrist. I dry most of his shirts on hangers and only iron them if they really need it, so I had just hung the shirt in the wardrobe without ironing it and hadn’t noticed the sock stuck in the sleeve, lol.
Well done, Chelsea, for rescuing the grey cat. I would love to see a pic. of the kittens if you get one Mandy. I’ll be going all gooey as kittens are so adorable. I miss having a cat around. I was given my first kitten for my 4th birthday and have never been without a cat till we lost our last one around 4 years ago. If I insisted OH would give in and let me get another but I know he’s not keen so I have said we’ll forget the idea for the time being. If the time comes when we are tied to the house more we might think again.
We had a pleasant evening out with our neighbours but only because they were good company. They had wanted to try the Turkish place where we had got a good takeaway. We booked for 7 pm and it was already very busy though the tables were reasonably well spaced. We were a little bit disappointed as we didn’t think the food was as good as the takeaway we had from there and was not as good as the other Turkish restaurant in town. Also the service was slow although there were enough staff there to easily cover a busy period. We were the last to leave the restaurant at around 9 pm and half the staff were waiting by the door to shoo us out and lock up. We had a taxi there and back so there were no worries about which man would drive and which one would have a drink. The town was dead and the taxi driver was saying that it was always like that now, but it was only 9 pm on a Saturday night so you would have expected at least a few youngsters around. I’ve just remembered that I put some towels in the tumble dryer this morning and I haven’t taken them out yet so I had better go and do that now before I forget again. Have a good night everyone. “See” you tomorrow.

Its probably no wifi connection Anng. We have plugs on the Christmas lights, tree lights and she does the light switch in the diner and the heating on and off. Soemtimes she tells us its not working and check the internet connection. She drives me mad when oh is in bed and she won't turn the diner light out so I just turn it off on the switch and back on again so its off.
Have you tried unplugging the pond plug and plug it back in and then do Alexa and that may fix it but try Alexa first.

After my friend went I had lunch and then went out to d a bit of potting on more plants. managed to do three, then did a bit of cutting back an overgrown honeysuckle but it is 18 degrees and too hot out there. Now one of the Alexa smart plugs has a little red light flashing, it is the one that turns on the pond but didn't when I asked her to. so not sure what is wrong with that. sometimes these things are more bother than they are worth.

It's nudged up to 15 degrees here now Mel so another day cooler than yours. I've wiped the kitchen tops, wiped the fridge out now it's nearly empty and treated the limescale on the taps. Now until the delivery I'll do some paperwork that needs to be done and filed away.
That's a nuisance....... it's mostly your wrist you use to do all sorts of things. As you say it is probably using the secateurs, especially if some stems were tough. I have an odd black sock and every time I do a wash I think it's other half will turn up but it hasn't yet! I must rifle through OH's sock drawer as he probably has one the same. ;-)

Morning Folks,
Lovely sunshine here but it's still only 12 degrees . I planted out the runners last night when it was cooler and OH planted out the Cobra beans this morning while I planted up one of the wall pots for round the back. It's quite sheltered where the beans are so fingers crossed they should be ok. The geranuims have been plonked on the soil in the big tub all winter but I need that now for the cues that need planting now so it's good to be moving them out into pots.
I'm doing the test today so have put a box on the ensuite loo lid so I don't forget each time I need to go. OH uses the bathroom instead anyway so he won't move it. We can drop it off at the surgery on the way to collect the last item on my prescription at the chemist.........3 trips to get all of it!
Oh Mandy 2 little black kittens....how lovely! Good for Chelsea saving the grey and white one. We will want to see pics and know their names. :-D
OH was cross with the newsagent who had sent a wrong newspaper yet again last week and not enclosed the supplements in the weekend paper. He and the new foreign person couldn't understand each other on the phone, so he decided to march off briskly to the shop and sort his paper out himself, which he did! He obviously went very briskly as he has stiff legs that ache this morning!
Mel it must be all the jobs you have been doing now the weather is better. So much needs doing outside now everything is growing so well. I am not doing anymore today till the food drop is here and put away. I did my walk 3 days on the trot and yesterday my knees didn't want anymore so they have had 2 days doing less to recover and feel much better today.

As I said in my email Ann I thought it was a good painting. granted the subject is boring but the textures look good to me. Naybe one day you will see the point who knows?
Yes if all three make good plants, three beans will be plenty for me I am sure. I think I can get all three in one container (trough shape but quite deep).

It's hotting up where you are AnnG, just 16 degrees here! That's what's happening with my plants in the greenhouse, all bolting! I bet that was a surprise to see 2 more beans poking through! You should be ok for beans now then.
There is a selection of pictures to paint, things like the corner of a plain, cube building next to a plain blue sky, a single rock against sky, all of which I can't get enthusiastic about. I'll send a couple so you can see what I mean. I am doing the only one that has a small animal in it and I'm enlarging the animal to make it more interesting. Mel, I'll attach last weeks painting, but I'm not really happy with it and need to do a bit more work on it.

20 degrees here at the moment. I have been sitting in my happy place, the first time this year, reading. Only trouble is I could see the rest of the plants needing plantin in the greenhouse but I felt I had done enough for today. I have just noticed two more beans just edging up through the soil in their pots. I only want three so that will be fine for me if they continue to grow.
